We stand before the Black Gate, banners together, green and white in the breeze; horses and white trees side by side, black and silver with burgundy and gold. We are one.
Some may think of the ancientry of Gondor, and draw strength from hers; others of the glory of Rohan, and find their pride deep within her rolling plains. Many, no doubt, imagine the faces of their women and children, and shall fight in defense of those they hold dear. Yet as we fight for different things, it is in the end all for one greater cause: the survival of our kind.
Whatever our motivation, we are all Men – and we stand fast together now in the face of death, in our last, desperate act of war.
Together we may fall, yet it is far better thus than to fall alone.
