Luna steps out onto her balcony overlooking Equestria. She looks out into the setting sun as it slowly dips into the horizon. Luna closes her eyes and lights her horn. She gently raises the moon up into the sky as stars start to appear in the sky. Her magic stops as the moon is placed into its proper position. She opens her eyes and looks up at the moon before smiling.
She opens her wings and jumps up into the air before flapping her wings. She takes off into the air. She flys over Canterlot and towards the park hill that looks over the city. She looks down and scans for the little red unicorn. She smiles as she spots Acid sitting under the tree at the top of the hill.
She dives down towards the ground before pulling up and landing gently on the ground behind Acid, who is looking up at the night sky. Luna slowly walks over to Acid before sitting down on the ground next to him.
"Good evening Princess," Acid says, his eyes never leaving the sky.
"Good evening Doctor," Luna replies with a smile.
"My name is Acid," Acid replies as he turns to look up at Luna.
"And ours is Luna," Luna responded.
"Must we do this every time we meet?" Acid asks, raising an eyebrow.
"As long as you call us princess, we will call you by your title of doctor," Luna replies with a small, but very smug smile.
"It's great to see you Luna," Acid chuckles before turning back to look at the night sky.
"It is nice to see thee," Luna replies as she turns to look up at the night sky as well. The cold night wind blowing past the two, causing Acid to shiver a bit. "Do they need help keeping warm?" Luna asks, slightly extending her wing out.
"No," Acid politely declined. "It's ok Luna,"
"We are here if you need anything," Luna says as she folds her wing back in.
"I do have a question,"
"Then ask,"
"Does wishing on the moon actually send a message straight to you?" Acid asks, looking over at Luna as he raises and eyebrow in a questioning look.
"When we were on the moon, yes it did," Luna says, looking down at Acid. "Why do thy ask?" Luna asks, with confusion and slight curiosity in her voice.
"Well," Acid starts as he turns away, his face turning a bit red, if you could believe it could get any more red. "When I was a colt, I was absolutely fascinated by the moon. It was like I had a connection to it I didn't understand," Acid explains as Luna listens intently. "My mom said if you ask the moon for something, the mare on the moon would make it come true. So," Acid says, taking a deep breath as he turns to face Luna. His blush now gone and replaced with a sweet smile. "I did,"
"That explains it," Luna says with a smile.
"Explain what?" Acid asks, tilting his head. His ears flopping in the direction he just tilted his head.
"Over our time on the moon, there were many voices. Most came from us, but some came from equestria. Most hated us, but over the years ponies forgot and the voices faded," Luna says, her body slouching as her smile fades. "But one day, a little colt spoke to us from Equestria," Luna smiles as she remembers the memory. Acid smiles as he listens intently to Luna's story. "He asked for simple stuff like friends, or to help his brother, but one stood out the most. One of his last things he asked me was if I was ok. It warmed my cold heart for a few minutes, so I sent a shooting star to show him our gratitude,"
"That was you," Acid replies with a cheeky smile.
"We assume the colt was thy?"
"I used to do it almost every other night," Acid replies. "I slowly stopped because I thought it was childish," Acid says, looking up at the moon.
"It was," Luna replied bluntly with a laugh. Acid laughs back at Luna's remark.
"That was blunt," Acid says, looking up at Luna.
"We do that a lot," Luna replies, looking down at Acid. The two look back at the night sky as a shooting star goes across the sky. The two stare off into the starry night sky. The wind gently blowing against their fur. Acid's eyes scan the stars as a shiver runs down his spin.
"Thou art sure thy don't need help keeping warm?" Luna asks again, looking down at the shivering little stallion.
"I'm sure," Acid says firmly but kindly with a small smile before turing towards Luna. Luna nods before turning back to the night sky. Acid turns back to the night sky as another shiver runs down his back. His body aching from being tensed up so much. Goosebumps run down his arms as he hugs himself. Luna looks down at Acid with worry on her face. Acid looks up at Luna before smiling cheekily. "Ok, maybe I need help,"
Luna smiles before responding, "We would be happy to help," Luna extends her wing behind Acid as he scootches closer to her. She wraps her wing around his body as he sighs.
"Thanks," Acid says with a smile.
"I see why our sister likes you so much," Luna says.
"Hmmm?" Acid looks up at Luna with slight confusion.
"When we got back from the moon, after the party, she talked to me about what happened in equestria. She talked fondly of you and Twilight, but strangely kept going back to you a lot,"
"Celestia apparently fell in love with me," Acid replies.
"How do thy know?"
"We had a discussion about what we were to each other," Acid says as he looks down at the ground. "It was definitely something we should have done a while ago,"
"What do thy see her as?" Luna asks with curiosity in her voice.
"A parent at most, a princess at least," Acid replies.
"What do thy think of us?" Acid blinks in surprise at the question. He pursed his lips as he thought for a moment.
"Like a big sister I never had," Acid replies, looking up at Luna with a kind smile on his face. She looks back down at him with almost no emotion as she processes the answer.
"I can agree with that," Luna replies, giving a small node of agreement. Acid lets out air that had built up in his lungs without him knowing. "I see you as a little brother,"
"That kind of makes sense," Acid replies as he scootches a bit closer to her. The two look back up at the sky. The stars dance about in the sky like professional dancers. Acid smiles as his eyes wander around the sky, before slowly moving over and landing on the Princess next to him. "Thanks for being out here with me, no one else as ever really like stargazing with me,"
"It is us who should be thanking thee," Luna replies as she looks down at him with a warm smile. Acid tilts his head in confusion before Luna explains. "Thy have been nothing but kind to us sense the day we meet,"
"It's just the right thing to do," Acid replies.
"We wish everypony was like you, then there would be no fighting," Luna sighs, looking towards the ground.
"It would be quite boring if everyone was like me," Acid replied back with a chuckle. Luna smiles before looking down at him.
"We wish we had a friend like you back when we were small," Acid's and Luna's smiles fade as silence squeezes between them. Acid looks at the ground as the cold wind blows past them. "It would have stopped so much pain if we had someone like you,"
"Maybe," Acid replies. The two look around the area as the moon starts to rise higher in the sky. "I need to go," Acid says as he stands up. Luna folds her wing back into her body as Acid turns to face her.
"We understand,"
"You really need to drop the royal we," Acid replies with a smile. "You are getting better at you instead of thee, thy, or thou,"
"I much appreciate your compliment," Luna says with a smile. Acid smiles back before trotting off, leaving Luna sitting on the hill, staring up at the night sky.
