Adventure Bay, at night. For once, the place was rather peaceful. But the tranquility would not last. Rubble kicked in his sleep, having doggy dreams, while Chase and Skye nervously paced outside.
"What's the problem, Skye?" Chase asked.
"I'm sensing something in the air," Skye answered, much more stoic than normal.
Not long after this, a huge golden fireball streaked through the sky.
"A meteor," cried Chase. "Wake up the others, they'll wanna see this."
Skye awakened Rocky, Rubble, Zuma, and Marshall, who all groggily answered.
"What's going on?" Rubble asked sleepily.
"Meteor shower," Chase said.
"Cool," said Rocky.
They sat and observed multiple smaller meteors following the large one, until the big one disappeared. Soon, Adventure Bay was rocked by multiple explosions, each shaking the ground and making the pups jump up.
"What's happening?" Rubble asked, frightened.
"Some of the meteors have landed here," Rocky answered. "That could be bad news."
"We'll check in the morning," Chase said. "For now, we should go back to bed."
The pups all returned to their pup houses, but none of them slept soundly.
The next morning, Ryder discussed the situation with the pups.
"The big meteor landed somewhere outside Barkingburg," Ryder informed them. "All the little ones landed in different places around the world."
"Any emergencies?" Chase asked.
"Not for now," Ryder answered, "and hopefully they'll stay that way."
A few days later, the pups were helping prepare for yet another Adventure Bay event, this time a steak cook-off. Rubble was predictably the most eager, but all of the pups awaited their cut of the meals.
"Attention, citizens of Adventure Bay," Mayor Goodway said into the microphone. "Welcome to the first annual Adventure Bay Steak Cookoff."
Chase grimaced. He liked Mayor Goodway, but her voice was rather grating, especially on a microphone.
"And now, start cooking."
Rocky fired up the oven, and prepared some of the food. Chase and Skye served as crowd control, Marshall stood by to put out any fires, Rubble provided the music, and Zuma just...sat there.
"Dude, what's that?" Zuma asked, looking up at the sky.
All the pups, Ryder, Mayor Goodway, Chickaletta, and everyone else looked up.
Chase stared up, and asked, "What the?"
A flock of enormous condors, each with a roughly 120-foot wingspan, brown feathers, and grey skin flapped above the fest, attracted by the cooked steak. They squawked as they landed, spooking Chickaletta and making Skye quiver.
Everyone stared at the condors, not sure what they would do. Finally, one condor screeched and flapped towards the crowd, making everyone cry out. The crowd started to flee, and Chase pulled out his megaphone.
"Everyone, please calm down," said Chase. "This is an emergency, but panicking is not gonna help. We're on these birds."
Chase barked, and everyone got into their vehicles.
"Skye, I know I'm asking a lot of you, but you're gonna have to distract the condors with your copter."
"This...This puppy's gotta fly," she stammered, before firing up her helicopter.
"Marshall, try to fire your water cannons at them. With any luck, they'll hate having their feathers soaked and want to leave. Rubble, Zuma, help everyone get to safety. Rocky, you're with me and Ryder."
"Green means go!"
"Rubble on the double!"
"Let's dive in!"
"I'm ready for a ruff-ruff rescue!"
"All right," Ryder said, "Paw Patrol is on a roll."
Chase, Rocky, and Ryder all kept their vehicles under Skye, Chase ready to deploy his net in case the birds knocked her to the ground. Marshall fired his water cannons, causing the condors to squawk in irritation.
"Come and get me, birdies," Skye said, taunting them. The condors started to pursue her, and she sped up. Chase and Rocky drove their vehicles after them, just to be sure.
Skye drew the condors to the bridge, but before they could leave town, the water bubbled. A huge red pincher surged from the water and grabbed one of the condors, dragging the struggling bird to the depths. The others tried to peck at the sea monster, but the hard shell was immune to their pecks and talons. Frustrated, the flock flew away towards the forest.
"Phew," Chase said. "Skye, are you okay?"
"I am, Chase," Skye answered.
"Yes, Skye's okay," Chase said, and Rocky smirked at him. Chase turned pink from embarrassment, and hid.
Skye flew above the water, eager to get a look at the sea monster. The beast surfaced, proving to be a huge red lobster, before diving again.
Skye flew down, and Chase ran up to her, nuzzling her. Ryder patted her on the back.
"Great job, Skye. All of you did great, but you deserve special mention since those condors aren't far off from the eagles you're afraid of."
"Thanks, Ryder. I got another look at the sea monster. He's a huge lobster."
"But what was with that?" asked Chase.
"I don't know," Ryder said. "Obviously, we've dealt with super-sized animals before, but that thing was way bigger than any of the others we've dealt with."
"I think the meteor probably mutated them," Rocky said. "The lobster and the condors."
"They need names," Ryder said.
"How about Ebirah for the lobster?" asked Rocky.
"Sure, and the condors are collectively known as Daikondoru," said Chase.
"All right," said Ryder, "let's get everyone back at the Lookout and figure this out."
That afternoon, back at the Lookout, everyone was desperate to understand what happened.
"Dude, that giant lobster has been a rumor for years," Zuma said. "But the stories always said he was about the size of a humpback, so the meteor must've made him even bigger."
"And I called Everest about the condors," Marshall said. "She says they were originally normal, and were nesting in the forest."
"I wonder what's up with this meteor," Ryder said. "Obviously, we got temporary super powers from the Mighty Meteor, but this thing is much bigger."
"Maybe this is the same type?" Rocky asked.
"Nah," Chase said. "The Mighty Meteor came alone. This meteor had an entourage. Obviously, something's up."
The next day, Chase, Skye, Ryder, and Zuma went to the water, while Marshall, Rubble, and Rocky went to the forest. At the forest, Rubble was the one who found the meteor sample.
"Right here," Rubble said. Rocky and Marshall joined him, and examined the rock.
"This is the meteor, all right," Marshall said. "But what's that weird glowing stuff?"
The glowing stuff was a bright gold, even more magnificent than the Mighty Meteor, and occasional sparks burst out. Rocky used one of his tools to take a closer look.
"This energy is really strange," said Rocky. "I think these meteors carried some sort of energy, and that's what mutated Ebirah and the Daikondorus."
"We'll bring this back to the Lookout," said Marshall. "Ryder can decide what to do with them."
Under the water, Chase and Zuma were scuba diving to find the meteor piece. Finally, they found a large rock embedded in the seafloor.
"This must be the one," Chase said.
"Totally, dude. We gotta pull this up."
Using Chase's winch and Skye's helicopter, they pulled the meteor out of the sea, and placed the huge rock on the shore.
"This thing is remarkable," said Ryder. "And this energy is sending weird electrical signals. Chase, test your Pup Pad."
Chase tried to call Marshall, but the signal was scrambled, and somehow sent a message to some old woman in Delaware. After an awkward explanation, Chase hung up.
"Well, we know two things. The meteor makes electric signals go haywire, and that same substance made the monsters. We have to dispose of this, Ryder," Chase said.
"We do," said Ryder. "But we'll store this piece and whatever the others find at the Lookout for now."
"Yes, Ryder sir," Chase said. With that, they towed the massive meteor back to the Lookout.
