Don't Cry
(inspired by Don't Cry by Guns N Roses)

I know that smile. I know the smile you shared with Faramir. He loves you. But he doesn't deserve you.

If only things had been different. I would have made you my queen. But Arwen gave her immortality for me, and I owe her so much.

I know that smile. It hides your tears. The tears you cry for me. And I know at night you'll be lying alone, sobbing into your pillow for me. And I know your heart is breaking.

And how do I know this? Because I know you, Eowyn. Remember what we had. It was very little, not so much a relationship as a friendship. But it meant a lot. Not enough, but a lot. I'll never see you much after this. But I'll still be thinking of you.

Don't cry tonight, Eowyn.
