Hello everyone, I'm back with a long fic. Originally this was a 5 page fic with silly misunderstandings but as I edited it, it just seemed to keep on growing, and growing...

I will post a chapter/week on friday. It's rated T and up as there's some implied mild sexual content in the story.

I hope you'll enjoy the shenanigans. Be ready for some misunderstandings, unexpected turns, fluff, humor, and a tiny drop of angst.

We're off for a strong start with a short prologue 3

Prologue: The rules.

Marinette tapped her pencil against her lower lip, barely able to focus on her science assignment. Well… Perhaps the two strong hands placed flat on her shoulders, massaging her tensed muscles, weren't helping her to think straight at all.

"Are you sure you want to keep going?" Adrien's voice was soft as it suddenly tickled her ears, making her drop her pencil on the book which was lying open on her desk.

Spinning around in her desk chair Marinette faced him, raising an unimpressed eyebrow. "Of course. With you by my side, I'll get there by the end of the evening. Do you have so little faith in me?"

"Of course not. I know that you and I can get there, 'cause we work well together; we have chemistry."

"Well, there's more physics, in this assignment unfortunately," Marinette sighed as she glanced at the two pages covered with formulas. She really couldn't get why Adrien found science so exciting. A year ago, her friend had even started studying to become a science teacher. Now that his father was out of the picture, Adrien had the choice, for once. And he made a good choice if you asked Marinette. Not only because he had such a big interest in science, but also because he was going to be wonderful with the kids.

"That's why I'm here to help. I'm always up for physic's duties…" Adrien smiled and winked at her, and that was the moment the penny eventually dropped.

Marinette was slow to catch on sometimes, especially when Adrien was so (so!) close to her.

"You weren't talking about the assignment, right?" She bit her lip, her cheeks flushing pink.

"I wasn't. Though…" He tilted his head, his smile changing into a more serious expression as his eyes deeply bore into hers. "...Since I'm a very curious student, I really wanted to know if you were still okay with the fact of practicing together and seeing the many reactions we can make."

His words finally rang a bell in her mind—that kind of 'science'.

"What about you? Do you want to keep going?" Marinette finally asked, sending the ball back in his court.

"Marinette," he said seriously. "Whatever exactly occurs between us, physics or chemistry… I don't want it to stop."

"Me neither." She shrugged.

"You're aware of what it implies, aren't you?" He crooked a brow at her and seemed anything but convinced.

Abruptly standing up from her desk chair, Marinette waved one of her hands under his nose as she began to count on her fingers. "Keep it a secret." She raised a first finger before a second and a third followed suit. "No dates. No kisses." And a fourth finally joined in. "No… feelings. Got it."

"You did learn your lesson pretty well. Did you know that you're currently raising my dopamine level?" He licked his lip, and his eyes roamed down her body, making her feel self-conscious of the way he drank her in—luckily, she wasn't 14 anymore or his gaze would already have had her melting on the spot. His hands then started to move slowly, sliding along her sides before gripping her hips and pulling her closer. "I wish I were a DNA helicase so I could unzip your genes."

"I absolutely don't know what that means, but I'm sure going to unzip something tonight," Marinette cooed in a voice as sweet as (D-glucopyranosyl-D-fructofuranose) glucose.

I will post once a week on Friday or Saturday (chapter one following this prologue will be on published on Friday).

Don't forget to write a review to let me know what you think.

Miraculous kisses y'all!
