Luna seems to keep tabs on everyone, but one Gryffindor wants to know just what Luna puts in that journal of hers. Luna/Ginny.
Luna Lovegood looked up to her father, after all he was the editor of the Quibbler, and she listened carefully to everything he said. There were two things that she always remembered 1.) Write about what fascinates you and 2.) Don't worry about what others think, you are you and nothing will change that. Luna did both of these with vigor. Though while she generally wrote about everything that fascinated her, she recently found one person who was talking up most of her journal pages.
Why do red hair and freckles always seem to go together? I mean has anyone ever seen a red head without lots of freckles? Probably something to do with the snorklebacks or something of the like. Perhaps I will have daddy look into it.
Luna's journal entries continued on with these entries going over every feature and every trait her friend happened to show. Luna never allowed her journal out of her bag except to write so she was never worried about her one and only friend finding it. Luna figured that if Ginny saw the journal, it would make her laugh, at least the first part of the journal, where it talked about her family, house, Hogwarts and the Wizarding world in general. Ginny was always doing things like that, laughing, at least. Generally at what Luna had to say, but least she listened. Most of her housemates tended to ignore her and steal her things, except for her book bag of course, which she never let leave her side. She decided that perhaps this would be a good time to check on her bag, and maybe write another entry, laughing after all, was quite fascinating. Luna pulled her bag out and started to pull her journal out when all she felt was empty space.
'Oh no.'

Ginny Weasly was always on the snoopy side, in a house with so many older brothers she became very good at it, it was after all the easiest way to get what she wanted, blackmail was her favorite policy.
It was fairly easy to figure out what most people were up to, except for one: Luna Lovegood. After being friends for a year there were still many secrets about this girl that Ginny could not figure out. One of these things was the book Luna constantly wrote in, whenever she asked the Ravenclaw just replied with it was investigative reporting and would quickly put the book away.
Ginny did not like secrets, especially when it came to her best friend, one way or another she was going to find out, privacy wasn't something she enjoyed especially when it meant her being out of the loop.
Ginny decided that it would just be her own investigation, surely that would be okay. Now all she had to do was pull it out of Luna's backpack without Luna noticing. Surely it wouldn't be that hard. During lunch would definitely best, while she's distracted.
Ginny went about this and by that evening she was curled up by the fire ready to see just what was so fascinating. Ginny opened the book and started flipping through it.
'Oh no.'

I'm not sure whether this is going to be just one more chapter or longer... tell me what you think (this is also my first Harry Potter fanfiction) Any criticism will be welcome. I'm trying to make this into an interesting story.. hopefully I'm doing something right...
