Seasons of Wonder: A Wonder Woman Fanfiction Story
Dawn of a Trinity, Part 1:
Side Notes: If you haven't seen or read about my fanfictions Crisis of Infinite Visions and The Power of Gods, please do before reading this fanfiction. It'll make more sense this way, because Seasons of Wonder is the second sequel fanfiction to The Power of Gods and also a fanfiction spin off of Crisis of Infinite Visions.
On New Year's Day in the year 2014, on Paradise Island...
It's a sunny morning.
Some Amazons are casually talking among themselves and walking around the island. Some are carrying flowers. Some are battle practicing with their spirit energy blades on the practice grounds.
Donna Troy and Lyla are sitting on top of one of the lookout towers. They've been talking.
Donna Troy deduces, "wow. So it's not the first time the Muses of Nine meddled in a universe?"
With some mixed feelings... Lyla adds, "unfortunately no. That's also a story to tell you another day."
Donna Troy comments, "aw! But I want to know all about my grown up spiritual twin's adventures."
Donna Troy pouts a little.
Lyla chuckles.
Lyla points out, "I know. I think your curiosity is admirable. If I didn't help the Monitor for many years protect the multiverse? I'd be asking many questions myself."
Donna Troy chuckles.
Donna Troy concludes, "thank you Lyla. You sure you really don't mind?"
Lyla remarks, "oh don't worry: I'm sure I faced worse things."
She puts a comforting hand on hers.
They both smile.
Meanwhile, in the central tower on Paradise Island...
Wonder Woman and Bana-Mighdall Artemis are standing there.
Wonder Woman argues, "Queen Antiope... You can't seriously let Artemis tutor Donna Troy."
Antiope is sitting on her throne. She looks somewhat nervous.
Antiope considers, "I apologize for sounding ignorant to you. But... Why not? She helped you destroy Chaos alongside Devastator Woman, and Donna Troy herself has requested to be taught by Artemis."
Bana-Mighdall Artemis is quick to say, "thank you."
Wonder Woman comments, "you not being rude? You're usually rude to other Amazons, and I'm not the only one. You're putting on quite a show today."
They warningly glare at each other. They start to pull out spirit energy blades.
Antiope calls out, "enough!"
Suddenly... She faintly chuckles.
Wonder Woman and Bana-Mighdall Artemis look nervous.
Antiope suggests, "I have a better idea to settle this...and you just volunteered Diana."
Antiope and Bana-Mighdall Artemis smirk.
Wonder Woman somewhat nervously checks, "wait a minute! For what?"
Around then, in the city of Metropolis...
There was a Daily Planet reunion for reporters scheduled this year. Most of them including Lois Lane were taking a mostly silver train there.
But... Some laser fast fire takes out the driver of the train.
From a ledge on a apartment building... A mystery figure in all black with a grayish black wide long gun pointer vanishes from sight.
The train is speeding out of control. Cries of panic fill the train.
Superman is flying fast toward it. A tip ahead of time alerted him to the speeding train.
Superman calls out worriedly, "hold on!"
Superman tries to move the train back with his bare hands.
But... It just speeds on.
Superman determinedly flies after it.
Over the built-in comlink in his battlesuit... Batman tells him, "we got a bigger problem. The forensics your battlesuit automatically sent me shows a close resemblance to the League of Shadows. The one led by Ra'Al Ghul."
Superman somewhat nervously brings up, "I'm kind of busy now, Bruce! Hold on."
The train speeds off a curve in the tracks.
Superman struggles to catch it in time...while his feet make some big dents on the road below.
He soon lifts the train by the front end and puts it back onto the tracks.
Some people in and out of the train clap and cheer.
Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, and Superman nervously smile some to each other.
Superman waves to everyone.
He then flies away.
Over his battlesuit's comlink... He reports, "I saved the train. So... What is Ra'al Ghul up to?"
From Batman's Batcave in Gotham... Batman smiles some to himself.
Batman concludes, "check Antarctica with your battlesuit's scanners before coming to Gotham. The train was a diversion for us. But, we may not be too late to stop him."
Superman reasons, "okay. I'll check it out."
And... On Batman's Gotham Batcave's screen... There's files from a LexCorp security disc...including a picture of a fully restored Bizarro encased in ice.
Around then, on Paradise Island...
Wonder Woman and Donna Troy are standing on one of the practice grounds. They're wearing matching battle wear.
Donna Troy concludes, "I don't know about this. She's my spiritual twin."
Wonder Woman concludes, "you're not the only one. Queen Antiope? Are you sure about this?"
Antiope, Bana-Mighdall Artemis and the rest of the Mala Amazon nation are gathered around. Steve Trevor and Etta Ranch are there too.
Antiope brings up, "it's better than you and Artemis destroying one another just to decide who's tutoring Donna."
Steve can't help but ask, "because Artemis would quickly lose to Diana?"
He sounds amused.
Etta, Diana, and Bana-Mighdall Artemis warningly glare at him.
Most of the Amazons including Antiope try hard not to laugh at them.
Etta and Wonder Woman annoyedly calls out, "Steve!" Steve calls out in confusion, "what?! I'm on your side."
With mixed feelings... Wonder Woman explains, "Steve. I... Moderate sigh. I appreciate you're on my side. But, that was a rude thing to say in front of everyone: Especially in front of Artemis who wants to take you down now."
Bana-Mighdall Artemis has her dark red spirit energy blade out. She's darkly smiling.
Steve somewhat nervously smiles. He gulps nervously.
He puts his hands up for a bit.
Steve reluctantly concludes to Wonder Woman, "all right. I'll shut up now, angel."
Wonder Woman adds, "thank you Steve."
Everyone is smiling.
Donna Troy wonders, "well? Are we doing this now, or do you want to do the "more spiritual" thing and skip to the part of me winning?"
Steve, Etta, and most everyone else can't help but laugh at that.
Donna Troy and Wonder Woman get ready with their spirit energy blades. Both spirit energy blades are glowing bright red.
Wonder Woman comments, "oh Donna. You wish I'm going to make it that easy."
And... Wonder Woman and Donna Troy lightly charge for each other.
They slash their spirit energy blades at each other. Some spirit energy sparks fly.
Some of the Amazons lightly call out, "get her Diana! Go Donna!"
Donna Troy uses her other arm to grab at Wonder Woman's arm.
Wonder Woman catches her other hand first.
Wonder Woman side kicks her down.
Donna Troy tumbles back to her feet.
With a frustrated cry... She high leaps at her with her fists.
Most everyone gulps nervously at that.
Wonder Woman struggles to use her Amazon wristbands to block several punches in a row.
Wonder Woman warns, "Donna! It's a friendly competition. Calm down!"
Donna Troy is about to tackle charge her.
But... She pauses.
She takes a deep breath. She nervously sighs.
Teary eyed... Donna Troy reflects, "I...I'm really sorry Diana. I... Hard sniffle. You win."
She starts to cry.
Wonder Woman hugs her. She hugs her back.
Teary eyed... Wonder Woman assures, "it's okay Donna. It's okay."
Most everyone bittersweetly smiles.
Antiope reflects, "you're right with one thing about Donna, Artemis: She does take after you."
She slightly glares at Bana-Mighdall Artemis.
Bana-Mighdall Artemis awkwardly smirks.
A few hours later, in Bruce Wayne's mansion in Gotham...
Superman as Clark Kent nervously sighs.
He's walking around to think to himself.
The robot OMACs are still not built yet.
A picture of Bruce's butler Alfred and a picture of Bruce's parents are by the fireplace.
Suddenly... A familiar voice calls out, "Clark? Clark?"
Clark speeds over to the front door.
He opens the door.
Clark deduces, "I know Batman didn't give me that tip about the train because he was in the same room with me. So... What brings you out to Gotham, Apollo?"
Apollo walks through the door.
He nervously smiles some. They both kind of awkwardly stand there.
Apollo figures, "Batman is usually right. But..."
Clark reasons, "but you think he's about to do something he'll regret later. You're a god of visions. It's not that hard...to figure out."
Apollo observes, "you are smart. And yes: I am a god of visions. But... You don't sound very sure of your own."
Clark slightly glares.
Clark figures, "what are you talking about? I still visit my parents."
Apollo reflects, "with just video chat? Moderate sigh. You don't have to punish yourself like this. You can still go home again, Clark."
Teary eyed... Clark mutters, "you don't know what it's like to be mind controlled by Darkseid: You're immune to mind control because you're a god! You... Hard sniffle. You don't know how painful those outcries against Superman were."
Apollo heavily sighs.
He figures, "gods and goddesses are not perfect either, Clark. Ares starts fights. Athena, Zeus, and Hera all have really big tempers. Aphrodite flips alignments a lot because, gods only know why, she loves Ares!"
Clark looks wide eyed in shock.
Clark comments, "wow. T...that sounds messed up."
Apollo sums up, "yeah. You don't know how much. Moderate sigh. At least you can still go home: Our pantheon has split into two. I'm surprised it hasn't happened sooner really."
After a bit... Clark adds, "thank you. I'll...I'll think about it Apollo."
The teariness in Clark's eyes is starting to dry up.
Apollo puts a comforting hand on his.
Apollo reflects, "you're welcome Clark. I may have given up The Apollo Hotline for telling people their future. But... I've learned the hard way that being more subtle about visions when no one else can help goes a long way."
Clark compliments, "that's a impressive way to go. I'm happy for you and those people you've been helping."
They bittersweetly smile some.
Apollo adds, "thank you very much Superman. That means a lot."
Clark deduces, "you're welcome. Now... What choice do you see Batman regretting later?"
Around then, on Themiscrya...
Queen Hippolyta is in her bedroom. She's sitting on her throne. She's watching TV on her magic mirror.
Across many magical screens including hers... A commercial comes up.
A golden TI logo is on the upper right of the screen.
Queen Bee's voice says, "are you tired of men that like snow too much? Have you had enough of men trying to destroy us with their magically cursed apples? You want to destroy them first? Well... Our fairytale movies have just the thing for you: Starting with... Snow Bee and Her Seven Amazons."
Gold letters to match appear on the screen too.
Hippolyta concludes, "Queen Bee using her not really international "Themiscrya International" company to...? Scoff! You can't be serious. I thought you had a little more class than knockoff movies. A little more."
Queen Bee and seven more Themiscrya International Amazons appear in Snow White like dresses. They're in a forest.
The seven more Amazons have these titles hovering over them:
Buzzing, Humming, Thinking, Hollowing, Fortifying, Haggling, and Cashing.
They and Queen Bee are charging into battle with slingshots full of cursed bananas and pears. Many male fighters in medieval battle wear are charging into battle with slingshots full of cursed apples and bananas.
Hippolyta frustratedly sighs.
Hippolyta mutters, "oh Athena. Give me strength to forget this commercial."
Meanwhile, on a island in Greece...
A mystery figure with long pinkish purple hair and Greek clothes is standing by a Lazarus pit. Ra'al Ghul and his bodyguard Ubu are standing there too.
The mystery figure nervously questions, "who am I? Who are you, and why did you take me here?!"
Ra'al Ghul insists, "I did no such thing! I rescued you. I can help you get back your kingdom."
Ubu whispers, "what?! You never take orders from..."
Ra'al Ghul whispers back, "shut up. It's a temporary alliance."
Ra'al Ghul warningly glares at Ubu.
The mystery figure assumes, "what did you say? You have a temper?"
Ra'al Ghul blatantly lies, "I was...assuring my friend in the royal guard here that it's a temporary setback losing your kingdom."
He gestures over to Ubu.
The mystery figure checks, "queen huh? Laugh. I may not remember much. But... All right. Who am I then?"
She smiles in amusement.
Ra'al Ghul continues, "Queen Hippolyta. I'm your royal advisor Ra'al. I've stolen some high tech submarines from the Mala Amazon nation with help from what remains of our royal guard. The time to fight back for your kingdom is coming near. When we're ready? They'll never know what hit them."
The mystery figure can't help but wonder, "well, if they never know... How can we take back my kingdom?"
Ubu tries hard not to chuckle in front of Ra'al Ghul.
Ra'al Ghul offers, "see for yourself my queen."
He shows her two hovering black submarines.
The mystery figure all too lightly goes, "all right! Let's go get back my rocking kingdom!"
She suddenly changes her hair to purple. She has a biker outfit appear on herself.
Ra'al Ghul nervously sighs.
Bizarro checks, "friend Ra'al... Can Bizarro stop hold submarines? Arms getting tired."
Bizarro has been holding the two black submarines. Rock carved bling around Bizarro's neck says "number 1 friend" on it.
Ra'al Ghul concludes, "yes Bizarro. Besides... I have a less physically tiring mission for you. Timing is key."
Bizarro twistedly grins.
The mystery figure comments, "why does it say number one? I thought I was your number one!"
Ra'al Ghul is quick to say, "he...was best man at our wedding. Best man! Yes. Why don't you check your makeup, Hippolyta?"
The mystery figure reasons, "good idea! Thank you dear Ra'al."
She checks her makeup with a portable mirror.
Ra'al Ghul goes phew. Ubu chuckles to himself.
A half hour or so later, in Gotham...
Taxis and cars are speeding along a city street. A flock of red cardinal birds are flying over a sidewalk.
A old woman in a purple cloak named Jaleel is walking down the same sidewalk. A big mostly dark brown snake is going with her.
Jaleel declares, "you are too late to delay the inevitable! Accept the will of Ares in all things... Birds, trees, and bombs to start."
Many people are running and screaming from her and her snake.
And... The flock of red cardinal birds has small bombs wrapped on their legs with rope.
Superman deduces, "not if we can help it end."
Batman and Superman use Batarangs and laser vision to carefully cut the rope off the bombs.
The birds chirp loudly and fly away in reaction to bombs beginning to explode around them.
Suddenly... Wonder Woman comes with a flock of doves.
She coos some to them. She points her arm toward Jaleel.
The flock of doves knocks Jaleel back.
Jaleel coughs some. She almost doubles over.
Before she can react... Wonder Woman gets her golden lasso around her.
A gas bomb rolls out of Jaleel's hand. It harmlessly lands by a tree in a nearby park.
Batman comments, "is that really necessary?"
Batman and Superman are now standing by the park. They're facing Wonder Woman.
Wonder Woman reasons, "Bruce! She may be a Ares follower. But, she's a old lady. She wouldn't live long with your questioning."
Jaleel all too lightly tells her, "thank you for your kindness for a old sibyl."
Wonder Woman adds, "you're welcome."
With a tense glare... Batman whispers harshly to her, "I'm still wearing a mask to protect my identity from criminals. Don't say my name in public while I'm wearing it!"
Wonder Woman whispers, "fine. But, if you and Superman have very similar faces..."
She more loudly suggests, "I don't see why you have to hide your face. I don't."
Batman implies, "you could regret that later you know. How long do you think it'll be until Amanda Waller puts it together?"
They annoyedly glare at each other.
Superman tries to assure, "take it easy! I... I take it you and Wonder Woman met before?"
He briefly put his hands up on the first part.
Batman starts to say, "it's..." Wonder Woman adds, "...a long story."
Superman somewhat awkwardly adds, "okay. Am I going to have to separate you two?"
Batman and Wonder Woman are quick to say, "no."
With a smile... Wonder Woman offers, "well... With you being a gentleman Superman... Why don't you question her?"
Superman checks, "well Batman?" Batman somewhat annoyedly comments, "it'll do."
Kind of sarcastically... Wonder Woman adds, "yeah. Good to see you too."
Superman points out, "he's always like this."
Wonder Woman assures, "thank you Superman. But... I'm still friends with both of you: No matter how hard he makes it to be."
She, Batman, and Superman smile.
Wonder Woman passes part of her golden lasso to Superman for him to hold it instead.
Superman turns to Jaleel.
Superman figures, "sibyl Jaleel... I'm going to cut to the chase. What is Ares planning?"
Jaleel reasons, "Ra'al Ghul thinks Ares and him both want to pass final judgment on humanity. But... Ares wants battles to go on. He... He knows damnation is upon Ra'al too."
Superman inquires, "and what is Ra'al Ghul planning to do?"
Jaleel reveals, "Ra'al Ghul plans for the League of Shadows to fire missiles at the big oil refineries. They have on their list some fighters for hire to destroy that "happen" to work there. They get big money in advance from opposing refineries...and Ra'al never told me more details. Laugh. The oil refineries won't believe you without specific details. And... They're not the only ones not believing their own damnation. You'll see yours soon heroes."
Jaleel laughs like crazy.
With a heated glare... Batman knocks her out.
With a heated glare... Wonder Woman calls out, "she's still a old lady Batman: How dare you! !"
Superman whispers harshly, "Bruce! That was uncalled for."
Batman mutters, "what?! She was about to cast a spell. Anyone that sounds like the Joker is..."
Wonder Woman mutters, "you are being so full of ****: You just wanted to punch the Joker!"
They both continue to argue loudly.
Superman calls out, "Batman! Wonder Woman! Stop it! !"
Suddenly... Bizarro swoops in by surprise and grabs Wonder Woman.
Wonder Woman struggles to break free from his grip. But, he just tightens his grip.
Wonder Woman coughs hard. She struggles to hold onto consciousness.
Wonder Woman worriedly calls out, "guys! Donna! Hard cough! Help! !"
Jaleel's snake vanishes in a burst of blinding light. Ares's laughter is heard.
Superman and Batman reactively cover their eyes. They groan hard some.
By the time they open their eyes... Wonder Woman and Bizarro are out of sight.
Superman and Batman are getting teary eyed.
Donna Troy looks worried. She is running over toward them.
Many flying octopuses and black submarines are heading for Themiscrya and Paradise Island...with the mystery figure and Ra'al Ghul leading the charge.
Superman is holding Wonder Woman's golden lasso, looking down at it.
And... He murmurs to himself, "Apollo? I hope a better choice for us is coming soon. Very soon."
