Prologue: Leaving the Cul-De-Sac

It was a typical summer afternoon in the Cul-De-Sac. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and a bunch of angry, slimed-covered kids were chasing Ed, Edd, and Eddy.

"COME BACK HERE, DORKS!" yelled Kevin as he and some of the other Cul-De-Sac kids chased Ed, Edd, and Eddy down an alley.

"Prepare for a merciless pummeling, Ed boys!" yelled Rolf.

"Wait until I tell Mom about what you and your stupid friends did, Ed!" Sarah yelled at the top of her lungs. The Eds kept running as if their lives depended in it...which it most likely did.

"Ed, you idiot! I didn't say to push the button yet!" Eddy yelled at Ed.

"I couldn't help it, Eddy! It was so shiny!" Ed replied.

"If you didn't push that button too early, we would've had enough time to get far away from them to spot us!" yelled Eddy.

"I'm sorry, Eddy!" cried Ed.

"Fellows! Cease your pointless arguing! We must conserve our energy and focus on evading our pursuers!" said Edd. After five minutes, the Eds were starting to get tired.

"Guys. I'm starting to get tired." said Ed.

"Me, too." said Edd.

"We need to find a place to hide until the heat dies down." said Eddy. Looking around, they see a chain link fence with a bunch of large, wooden crates on the other side of it.

"Fellows. Let's hide in one of those crates." said Edd.

"Great idea, sockhead! Ed! Do your stuff." ordered Eddy.

"You got it, Eddy." said Ed as he ran over to the fence. Using his impressive strength, he lifts the bottom of the fence high enough so they can easily go under it. Once they were on the other side of the fence, Ed sets the fence back down and they start looking for a crate they can hide in. After a minute, they see a crate with an open lid.

"Guys! In here!" said Eddy as he tries to climb into the crate. But the top of the crate was too high for him to reach. "Guys. A little help."

"Okey dokey, Eddy." said Ed as he lifts Eddy and tosses him up to the top of the crate. Ed then helps Edd up, and Edd and Eddy both pull up Ed.

"Get inside! Quickly!" said Eddy as he jumps down inside the crate with Ed and Edd quickly jumping down inside with him. A minute later, the Cul-De-Sac kids arrived at the fence.

"Where did those dorks go?!" asked Kevin.

"I don't see them, Kevin." said Jonny. "Do you see them, Plank?" he asked his board friend. He puts his ear up to Plank's mouth and listened for a few seconds. "Plank doesn't see them either."

"Those dorks have to be around here somewhere, and when I find them, I'm gonna pound them!" said Kevin. On the other side of the fence in the crate the Eds were hiding in, Edd had his ear against the side of the crate, listening to the Cul-De-Sac kids talking.

"Fellows. The kids are close by." Edd told the others. Eddy quickly covered his mouth.

"Then zip it, blabbermouth, or they'll hear us." Eddy whispers. They continued to sit in the crate. A minute later, a couple of workers walked up to it.

"Hey, Phil. This crate isn't shut." said one of the workers.

"I'm on it, Nate." said Phil as he pulled out some nails and a hammer. They go to the lid and close it. The Eds were surprised.

"Hey! Who turned out the lights?" asked Eddy. Edd pulls a pen light out of his pocket and turns it on, providing them with light to see with. They listen and they soon hear the sound of hammering coming from above them.

"What's that noise you guys?" asked Ed. Listening, Edd recognizes the sound from the times he constructed things for Eddy's scams.

"Fellows. I think the lid is being nailed shut." said Edd. Eddy started to panic.

"What?! Hey! There's kids in here!" Eddy yelled. But the workers couldn't hear him over the hammering. "Are they deaf or something?"

"I believe the sounds of hammering are drowning out your shouts." said Edd. Looking around, they see a hole in the side of the crate. Ed looks through it and sees the Cul-De-Sac kids.

"Hey. I see Sarah. HI, SARAH!" Ed yells to his little sister. Eddy quickly covers his mouth.

"Ed, you idiot! We don't want them knowing we're in here." said Eddy.

"I suggest we wait in here until the other kids leave. After that, we'll figure out a way to get out of here." said Edd.

"Good idea." said Eddy as he sits down. They suddenly hear the sound of a motor approaching them. The crate suddenly shakes. "Hey! What's going on?"

"Guys. I think we're moving." said Ed as the crate started to tremble.

"I believe Ed is correct." said Edd. Eddy looked shocked.

"Wow. I never thought I'd hear those words in the same sentence together." said Eddy. Outside, the crate was being carried by a forklift and moving towards the back of a cargo plane. Inside the crate, Edd looks through the hole in the crate and sees them being loaded inside the cargo plane.

"Fellows. We're being loaded into a plane!" Edd tells them.

"WHAT?! LET US OUT!" yells Eddy as he and Ed pound on the side of the crate. Suddenly remembering the Cul-De-Sac kids were still outside, Eddy stops pounding the crate and grabs Ed's wrists to stop him. "Wait, monobrow. Wherever this plane is going to take us, it's better than going back to the Cul-De-Sac right now."

"I believe Eddy is right." said Edd.

"So we'll wait in wherever this plane is taking this crate and lay low for a while." said Eddy.

"But what will we eat?" asked Edd. Ed opens one side of his jacket to reveal a fridge door (the one he had in the Ed, Edd, and Eddy episode "Scrambled Ed") with some food and drinks in it.

"Got it covered, guys." said Ed as he pulled out a box of Chunky Puffs and starts pouring some into his mouth.

"Ed, control yourself. We don't know how long we're going to be in this crate, so we'll need to ration it until we can get out of here." Edd told Ed.

"Okay, Double-D." said Ed as he put the cereal back in the fridge door. Edd grabs three sodas from the fridge and distributes them. Outside the crate, the workers were putting a shipping label on the side of the crate.

"So where's this crate going?" asked Nate. Phil stops and looks at the shipping label.

"It says it's going to some place called Sinnoh, to someone named Professor Rowan." said Phil.

"Sinnoh? Where's that?" asked Nate.

"Don't know, don't care. It's not our job to know stuff like that. We just load, label, and ship stuff off. " said Phil.

"Good point. Let's get back to work." said Nate. They get back in the forklift and drive it out of the plane. Five minutes later, the cargo plane's doors shut and it starts moving down the runway. Inside the crate the Eds were in, the boys felt the crate leaning.

"Now what?" asked Eddy. Listening, Edd hears the sounds of the plane's engines.

"Fellows! I think we're starting to take off!" said Edd.

"Good. That means we're getting away from the other kids. Now they'll never find us, wherever we're going. So just sit back and enjoy the flight, sockhead." said Eddy as he sits down, places his hands behind his head, leans against the side of the crate and relaxes. Edd and Eddy look at Ed and notices him fidgeting.

"Ed? Are you okay?" asked Edd.

"Guys. I have to go to the bathroom." confessed Ed.

"HOLD IT IN, ED!" said Edd and Eddy. The boys are now heading towards one of the biggest ed-ventures of their young lives.
