Episode 538: Power Rangers Millennial Kingdom: Deus Ex Machina
Days after the Second Coming, the Megaforce Rangers have loaded up the Skyship with supplies and fly near the Earth's atmosphere, near a portal.
"Anyone know how this thing works?" Jake asked
"Think of a place you want to go" said Tensou "and it will take you there"
"Troy" said Orion "fly towards the portal. I know where I want to go" and they fly into the portal
"Where are we going Orion?" Emma asked
"Home" said Orion and he smiles as they emerge from the portal near Andresia. As the Skyship lands towards the surface, Jake notices something
"Wait" said Jake "I get that Zordon's wave restored the plant life to Andresia, but where did all the people come from? I thought everyone on Andresia perished"
"When Zordon returned" said Tensou "he brought with him anyone who had died believing in the hope that the Messiah would come from the Old Testament days, anyone who was taken in the Rapture, and any believer who had died during the Tribulation. The only people left in Heaven are those who died after the Resurrection but before the Rapture. Andresia had believers in every time period, and many of them have returned to Andresia"
"So how does aging work?" Noah asked
"Anyone who has already been to Heaven won't age" said Tensou "those that lived through the Tribulation will age, although at about one tenth of the normal rate. On a person's hundredth birthday, if they believe in Christ, it will be like any other day. But if the person isn't a believer, then on that day they will die"
"I thought all unbelievers were already judged" said Emma
"Anyone who was old enough to be accountable for their actions was" said Tensou "but children born during the Tribulation aren't really old enough to be accountable"
"So in about a hundred years people will begin dying and then no more death because there will be no more children?" Gia asked
"Who says there will be no more children?" Tensou asked
"Then where will they come from?" Gia asked
"From you" said Tensou and Gia's face turns red
"What?" Gia asked
"Not you specifically" said Tensou "but anyone who lived through the Tribulation is perfectly capable of having kids"
"Oh" said Gia as her face returned to a normal color
"Hey Machine" said Noah "how are you enjoying this new world?"
"I love it Noah" said the Machine "I can be almost everywhere at once, without having to hide from Venjix"
"So Venjix is really gone right?" Troy asked
"…Yes" the Machine said
"You hesitated" said Gia "how did you beat Venjix? We didn't detect either one of you after the Dome exploded"
"I defeated Venjix in the real world" said the Machine "but was still battling him in Cyberspace. He had taken the form of Dillon using the Black RPM Powers and I had taken the form of Dr. K using the Platinum RPM Powers…"
In Cyberspace, the Machine and Venjix continue their battle
"ENGINE CELLS, ACTIVATE!" said the Machine as she inserted Engine Cells 7 and 8 into her SkyShift Blazers "SKYSHIFT BLAZERS! FIRE!" and she unleashed a massive blast of energy towards Venjix. But Venjix simply throws up a shield, and it deflects the blast at the Machine, demorphing her into the form of Dr. K and she pulls out her Sky Morpher and Engine Cell, which dissolve
"It's over, Machine" said Venjix "you've lost the battle and now you will lose your life and then I'll help Rossi take your friends' lives"
"Not so fast, Venjix" said the Machine as she pulls out another device "did you really think I wouldn't have a failsafe?"
"What's that?" Venjix asked
"This will completely fry every electronic in the Dome with the exception of the Dome itself" said the Machine "which will completely destroy this section of Cyberspace and us with it"
"So this is how you want to end it?" Venjix asked
"No" said the Machine "this was only a last resort. I thought I was going to be able beat you with the RPM Platinum Powers, I didn't bother to load any others. I was arrogant and that will be my downfall. And with my downfall, I won't be able to help my friends, which could lead to their downfall. I was wrong" and then the device in her hand started to glow
"So the end has begun" said Venjix
"You mean you didn't do this?" the Machine asked
"No" said Venjix "I tried to hack into it and disable it, but you made it too well"
"This isn't what it's supposed to do on activation" said the Machine and then the device splits into two and reforms into two very familiar looking devices "I was wrong Venjix, I will live through this and will help my friends"
"What is that?" Venjix asked, although he knew all too well what it was
"IT'S MORPHIN TIME!" said the Machine "GO GO MEGAFORCE!"
"Megaforce" said the Silver Morpher
"MEGAFORCE GOLD!" said the Machine
"What?!" Venjix asked
"LEGENDARY FINAL STRIKE CHARGE!" said the Machine "SILVER SPEAR, POWER OF SIX, UNITE!" and as the Sixth Rangers attack Venjix, he throws up a shield, but they shatter it and Venjix with it
"… so Venjix was shattered?" Noah asked
"Yes" said the Machine "however, out of the fragments, there were some useful code that I absorbed. None of the code with his personality or thoughts or memories, but only the code with his abilities"
"So now you're part Venjix?" Emma asked
"Kind of" said the Machine "it's similar when you use other Rangers' Keys. When Troy uses the Red Power Key, he doesn't become Jason, he simply uses his Powers. Same with me, I'm not Venjix in any way, shape, or form, I simply can use his abilities"
"Interesting" said Noah as the Skyship landed
"Lead the way, Orion" said Troy as they walk off the Skyship onto Andresia
"Welcome to Andresia" said Orion
"Is it anything like you remembered Orion?" Emma asked
"No" said Orion "it's much better. It looks like some of my favorite places are still here, but the seedier places are gone, as if they never existed" and so the Megaforce spend the next few hours exploring Andresia until Orion stops them "Hey guys, I'd like to explore on my own for a little. I want to see how many of my friends and family are here. Why don't you explore Andresia a bit by yourselves"
"Sure, Orion" said Troy "we understand. Meet us back at the Skyship in two days?"
"See you then" said Orion and as he walks off, he whispers into Jake's ear "that restaurant over there serves fantastic food, I think Gia would really like it" and Jake's face turns slightly red before returning to normal. Jake turns to Gia
"Hey Gia" said Jake "it's getting close to dinner time, you want to go to that restaurant with me?"
"Sure" said Gia and she takes his hand pulls him towards the restaurant. They had been on a couple of dates at the Remnant, but this would be their first date that they didn't have to squeeze between battles, the first date where they could just relax
"Well I'm going to go see how much Tensou knows about this new world" said Noah as he returns to the Skyship, leaving Troy and Emma alone. Troy realizes now is the time
"Emma" said Troy
"Yeah, Troy?" Emma asked
"I've had something I've wanted to say to you for a long time" said Troy "and I never could because I didn't want to risk our friendship or ruin the team dynamic while the world was ending around us. But now that the universe is safe, I want to tell you that I think you're smart, cute, funny, and above all kind. Would you consider going out to dinner with me?"
"I'd love to Troy" said Emma and she takes his hand and they go into the restaurant that Jake and Gia went to.
In the restaurant, Jake and Gia are talking when they see Troy and Emma walk in holding hands and they sit down at a table on the opposite side of the restaurant
"You see that?" Jake asked
"It's about time" said Gia
Two days later, the Megaforce waits outside the Skyship as Orion walks up
"Hey guys" said Orion
"So did you find any of your friends or family members?" Emma asked
"A few" said Orion "I didn't realize I had any family members that believed in Christ, but my aunt and a few others did"
"So are you ready to go?" Troy asked "there's an awfully big universe out there to explore"
"Troy" said Orion "I'm staying. I had to watch as my world burned around me, watching everyone I ever knew die. To see it alive again, makes me want fall in love with it all over again"
"We'll miss you Orion" said Emma
"And I'll miss you too" said Orion "enjoy your adventures, and remember that I'm just a Morpher call and a teleportation away"
"We'll remember" said Troy as he shook Orion's hand and the Megaforce boarded the Skyship
"Tensou" said Troy "set a random destination. It's time to see a new part of the universe" and the Skyship blasted off into space
