I waited for you…today

But you didn't show,

So where did you go?

Starfire sat on the roof of the tower with her knees up to her cheeks. Her eyes were wide and dim from the tears she shed earlier that evening,

"Where is he she thought?" she thought, "Doesn't he know I need him? He always has before…"

You told me to call,

Said you'd be there,

And though I haven't seen you,

Are you still there?

Slowly a single tear trickled down her face. She looked up at the stars and thought, "Where are you…"

"Robin…" she whispered,"ROBIN!" she yelled.

I cried out with,

No reply and,

I can't feel you by my side,

So, I'll hold tight to,

What I know, you're near…

Little did Starfire know, that a boy was watching her in the shadows. He silently watched her from behind a near by A/C unit on the towers surface, praying that he was not caught. It was then that he heard her yell his name, "ROBIN!"

And I'm never alone…

The tears poured from her eyes as if they where faucets. They traveled down her face and hit the cold ground beside her.

It killed him that he could not comfort her, but to do that would risk both of their lives. It did feel good to be near her though.

Robin didn't know it but Starfire felt it to-a rush of comfort fell on them. She didn't know what to do, so she sang the first song that came to mind…

I waited for you …today,

But you didn't show,

I needed you…today,

So, were did you go?

You told me to call ,

You said you'd be there,

Are you still there?

I cried out with,

No reply, and

I can't feel you by my side ,

So, I'll hold tight to,

What I know you're near,

I pain hit Robin's heart as her voice pour into his ears. He whispered before he could stop himself,

"Star, you're never alone…"

He lightly gasped at his stupidity and hid back in the shadows of the A/C unit.

Starfire whipped her head around in the direction of the voice. Hoping to see the Boy Wonder, she smiled. When she saw nothing but an A/C, her smile slowly disappeared. She turned her head back to the stars and let out a soft sigh.

Robin looked at her from his hiding spot. When he was sure she was looking away, he swiftly, but quietly, ran and jumped off of the tower. He extended his hands out like a crucifix as the wind blew his spiked black hair back.

When he was half way to the rocky shore below, he pulled out one of Slade's grappling hooks. He took aim, fired, and held tightly as the edge of the towers roof, barely making a sound. The cord tightened; he slid down to the top of one large rock embedded in the ground.

As Robin settled on the rock, the small communicator in his ear beeped.

"Sorry to cut you city cruising short, Robin, but I have a job for you," came the mocking voice of Slade through his ear.

"I'm on my way,"
