66: Spren
Fanfic
Taylor screamed as she pounded on the walls of her locker, trying as hard as she could to get free. No matter how hard she beat on them, they were implacable. She was stuck. Worse, she could tell escaping was hopeless. The freak storm that had hit Winslow High had snatched it, and her, up, and she was now sailing through the sky. She screamed as she was battered in her metal coffin. Then lightning hit the metal box she was in, seizing all her muscles.
On another planet, in another realm, the Stormfather felt just a little something.
Six hours later, her locker was found crashed into the side of a building, and she was discovered by the blood leaking out of it. She was pried out, brought to the hospital, and treated. It would be three months before she would wake up. A few weeks later, a glowing hero with incredible abilities would make their debut. Taylor herself was cleared when she was tested and found to be unable to develop parahuman powers. Spren, on the other hand, was a hero for the ages.
So, Taylor gets the ability to interface with the Storm, or essence of storms, as if it was her spren (Brandon Sanderson, Oathbringer series). This gives her the ability to fly, heal, manifest a set of plate armor that is capable of tanking artillery without scratching (stronger than the book's version, I know, but it's necessary for the story. Sides, she is connected to a willing and major aspect of nature!) and regenerates over time, a shifting weapon that can cut through anything but live tissue (passes right through it, but kills the 'idea' of the flesh, making it paralyzed and unhealable), and other things. She runs of energy that recharges when storms pass, but the amount she can hold, that she needs to use her skills, and the efficiency of her use all change as time passes and she swears Oaths. As long as she keeps the oaths, she keeps her power, but the more she breaks them, the weaker her powers get. She has no real spren, however. Cause, reasons.
Its late, okay. Not my best work, but I love the idea, and, with just a little boosting to the initial power, it'll work great.
