Chapter 4: The Night March

MatiasND: Thx, I appreciate that

Alexneushoorn: Thx for the apology

Thunderstrike16: I'm glad to hear that

BaseballCapClyde: No problem

"Previously on Totally Epic: Hawaiian Style, the teams competed in sumo wresting. Setsuna flirted with Edu in particular, and Caden was impressed by Vivian's skills. In the end Frank was voted off when his plan to talk to Johnny to distract him failed. What will our team do next? And who'll leave? Find out now on Totally Epic: Hawaiian Style." Monica announced.

The following morning, the guys from Team Plumeria were waiting going to take showers.

"I wonder what we'll be doing today?" thought Caden.

"I don't know but hopefully we'll win this time." hoped Kahlin.

As they were waiting, the girls walked by.

"Hey guys. Hi Edu." greeted Setsuna.

"Hey, Setsuna." Edu replied, slightly blushing.

The other guys noticed.

"Hey, Edu, do you like Setsuna?" Kahlin wondered.

Edu froze.

"I didn't come to the show to find a girlfriend." Edu told the audience.

"But Setsuna is cute and seems really nice."

"Well if you do you should definitely make a move." encouraged Caden.

"But I don't even know if she even likes me back."

Meanwhile, the girls were talking.

"Hey, Setsuna. I was wondering you seem to flirt with guys a lot, but do you like Edu?" asked Taylor.

"I admit that I am a flirt, but I do think Edu's pretty handsome." Setstuna answered.

"Romance on the teen reality show. Spicy." said Mia.

The girls all giggled.

Meanwhile, Team Anthurium had just gotten dressed, and were heading to the mess hall for breakfast.

"That dinner last night was delicious." said Elijah.

"Yeah, I enjoy eating at Zippy's." Johnny told.

"I hope we win again this time." hoped Lucky.

"We will if everyone pulls their own weight and works we will." replied Kevin.

"And if we don't have to deal with any sexist comments." whispered Vivian.

Tammie nodded in agreement. Soon everyone was in the mess hall eating breakfast. As Vivian was eating her oatmeal, she made eye contact with Caden. He smiled and waved at her.

Vivian was a little surprised, but smiled and waved back.

"I know I shouldn't be flirtin' with the enemy, but I have to admit that Caden is pretty good looking." Vivian said.

As Kahlin was eating his breakfast, he set his other hand on the table, when he noticed his hand landed on something soft and furry. Surprised, he saw Pepper sitting by his bowl.

"What the?"

"Pepper." called a voice.

Charlotte appeared next to him.

"There you are. Did you find my earring?"

In his mouth, Pepper was holding a gold earring. Charlotte held out her hand, and Pepper hopped into it.

"Good boy."

"Your chinchilla finds things for you?" asked Mia.

"Yep, I've trained him to do all sorts of little things."

And with that Charlotte put her earring back in. Then Monica came into the mess hall.

"Good morning contestants. I came to announce that today's challenge won't be happening until this evening." she announced.

"An evening challenge." replied Taylor.

"I'm guessing this is gonna be something creepy." guessed Kahlin.

"I wonder how creepy." thought Caden.

When the sun began to set, the teams met at the entrance of the set. They boarded a bus, and they drove out. By the time the bus stopped, it was dark, and they were at the entrance of a trail.

"Everyone welcome to Nu'uanu Pali Lookout, where you next challenge is." Monica told them.

"What kind of challenge is this?" asked Mia.

"You'll be taking a night hike on the trails of the Night Marchers."

Hailey then used a sound effects machine to give off a spooky sound.

"Night Marchers?" questioned Elijah.

"What the heck are those?" added Kevin.

"The Night Marchers are the spirits of ancient Hawaiian warriors that haunt these parts." Monica explained.

"It's true." Johnny agreed.

"For your challenge you'll have to hike these trails and make it to the end."

"Sounds easy enough." replied Setsuna.

"So whoever finishes first wins?" wondered Vivian.

"Not exactly, it depends on how many of you there are left." Monica added.

That was certainly unexpected.

"What do you mean by how many of us are left?" asked Setsuna.

Monica then explained,

"You'll have to walk the trail, without getting grabbed by the Night Marchers."

Charlotte then gave all of them flashlights.

"All right, everyone ready?" wondered Monica.

Everyone said they were.

"Then...go!"

She blew a horn, and they all went down different trails.

"Now this is my kind of a challenge." Kahlin told the audience.

"I wonder if I'll see an actual Night Marcher? Good thing I have my camera phone."

Team Anthurium made their way down their path.

"So Johnny have you ever seen these Night Marchers?" asked Lucky.

"No, but I've heard lots of my classmates and family members stories about encountering them."

"What do they look like?" wondered Kevin.

"Well since they're ghosts they're obviously transparent, their feet don't touch the ground, they carry spears, and they moan."

"At least we know what to be on the lookout for." said Tammie.

"Do you think Monica was serious about those Night Marchers grabbing us?" wondered Lucky.

"She probably meant that some of us may chicken out and bail. Like that episode last season." Kevin informed.

"But since there are no such things as ghosts, this challenge is gonna be a piece of cake." replied Elijah.

As they all walked, they didn't notice it was starting to get misty.

Team Plumeria were going down their trail.

"A night ghost walk, spooky." said Taylor.

"And cool." added Kahlin.

As Setsuna walked, Edu came up beside her.

"You know Setsuna, if you get scared I could protect you. Not that you couldn't protect yourself or anything, but I'm here."

Setsuna smiled at him.

"Thank, Edu."

Edu blushed a little. Mia looked around, and began to notice the air was getting sort of foggy.

"Uh, guys are you noticing this?" she asked.

"It's probably just special effects." said Caden.

"It definitely adds to the creepy factor." Kahlin replied, as he filmed the scene with his phone.

They continued walking, but little did they know, someone or "something" was watching them.

"So far I haven't seen anything." observed Lucky.

"Feeling scared?" sneered Kevin.

"No, I'm not." Lucky shot back.

"I was just saying."

As they walked, Elijah thought he felt something grab his wrist. Startled he quickly turned around. But there was no one there.

"Hmm."

Then he continued on, but then he was grabbed and dragged away. Vivian turned around, and saw he was gone.

"Hey, where'd Elijah go?"

The others looked, but didn't see him.

"What happened?" wondered Tammie.

"Maybe Monica wasn't kidding about things actually grabbing us." mentioned Johnny.

Everyone, even Kevin began to get a little frightened.

"All right, from now on everyone stay together, and be on the lookout." he instructed.

And slightly huddled together, they continued on.

Team Plumeria was still walking, when they heard something.

"What's that noise?" asked Taylor.

In the distance they heard drumming sounds.

"It sounds like drums." observed Caden.

"We better keep going." urged Mia.

They walked on, when Setsuna felt something on her ankle. She shrieked, and jumped.

"What's wrong?" asked Edu.

"Something grabbed my ankle."

Everyone looked around, but didn't see anything.

"You guys remember what Monica said about Night Marchers grabbing us?" asked Kahlin.

"Yeah."

"I think I know what she meant."

"If that's the case, we better go quickly and stay close." instructed Mia.

And so they did.

Meanwhile, Monica, Hailey, and Charlotte were watching the teens on a screen.

"Looks like they're onto us." said Hailey.

"Then it's time to kick things up a notch." Monica replied.

She pulled out a walki, and spoke into it. Team Anthurium kept their guards up as they walked on.

"Well at least we haven't seen any actual Night Marchers." mentioned Lucky.

"Shh, you don't want to jinx anything." Kevin hissed.

Lucky scowled at him. Out of the corner of Tammie thought she saw someone. It looked like an ancient warrior. She looked back, but didn't see anything.

"What's up, Tammie?" wondered Elijah.

"I thought I saw something."

"Something like what?" questioned Johnny.

"Like a ghost?"

Everyone froze.

"There are no such things as ghosts." Kevin piped up.

Just then, there was a rush of cold air.

"Right?"

"Come on." urged Johnny.

And they all quickly went on, huddled together. Johnny was slowly scanning the land, when suddenly, something reached out, and grabbed his shoulder. He shouted as he was being dragged off.

But his teammates grabbed a hold of him, and pulled him back.

"What was that thing?" asked Vivian.

"I don't know, but I think we know what happened to Elijah." mentioned Kevin.

Team Plumeria made sure to keep an eye out for anything scary. While Taylor was looking another way, she was grabbed by the waist and her mouth was covered. Caden glanced to his side, and saw she was gone.

"Guys, Taylor's gone." he informed.

That made everyone freeze in their spots.

"Okay now that's just creepy." replied Mia.

"We better get this challenge finished, before anymore of us disappear." warned Kahlin.

The teams continued down their separate paths. But they faced scary situations such as creepy footsteps, seeing images of ghostly Hawaiian warriors, and occasionally one of the teens getting dragged off.

Finally after what seemed like forever, they came to the end.

"Welcome back everyone. How was the hike?" Monica asked them.

Everyone began saying how it was scary, creepy, and they wanted to know what happened to their teammates. Team Plumeria was missing Taylor, and Caden. While Team Anthurium was missing Elijah, Lucky, and Tammie.

"Well your teammates are right here." Hailey informed.

Some interns came out with the teens following them.

"Well while both teams got their members snatched, since Plumeria only lost two while Anthurium lost three. That means Team Plumeria wins." Monica announced.

Team Plumeria cheered, while Team Anthurium groaned.

At the elimination ceremony, the team cast their votes and were waiting to see who would go and who would stay. Johnny, Vivian, and Kevin already got their flowers; it was now down between Elijah, Lucky, and Tammie.

"We're now down to the last two flowers. Since three of you were dragged off by our "Night Marchers", you're all on the chopping block. Now for the big moment."

The three looked at each other nervously.

"The first flower goes to Tammie."

Tammie smiled and went to get her flower.

"And now the final flower goes to..."

Lucky bit her nails, while Elijah looked jittery.

"...Lucky."

"Aw man." groaned Elijah.

"Sorry, Elijah, but awesome for me." Lucky told him.

And she got her flower.

"Sorry, Elijah but you're out of the game." Monica informed.

"Yeah, yeah. I know." Elijah grumbled.

"And that's another episode of Totally Epic: Hawaiian Style. What will be the teens next challenge? Who'll leave next? Will Setsuna and Edu end up together? Find out next time on Totally Epic: Hawaiian Style." Monica announced.
