A/N: I did one Halloween story last year about ghosts. The story does not go as I first planned and end in the one I posted now. It does not get a good reaction, so I hope this one does better. It also did not end the way I thought it at first, but I think it is good enough. This time it will be in AU modern time, so I hope people like this one better. I have been working on a few stories that I'm not finished with yet, but since I wanted to post this one for Halloween I work more on this one in the last few weeks. It has 6 chapters and a small Epilogue, so the story with move beyond Halloween day. I wanted to post it at the start of October, but I guess I started too late for that. Anyway, I hope people enjoy it.

Warning: This story contains some violent parts, bad language, sex with a minor, incest sex, death, blood-sucking, and some other hard things that I don't remember now. So this story is for adults over 18. Please don't read it if you don't like that kind of thing. Remember this is just a fantasy fiction story, nothing here reflects a real situation or was made to offend anyone, this is just a story. So read it with an open mind and don't make bad comments if you don't like what you read, because I already put some warning here. Thank you and I hope you enjoy it.

Chapter 1: The Small Town of Jackson

(Jackson October 2022)

A police siren can be heard on the streets of the small town of Jackson county. The car with the police light on the roof was rushing through the traffic en route to the lower part of the town. They were been call because another strange murder has occurred in an abandoned warehouse there. Detective Ellie Willians and her temporary partner were called to the crime scene. Ellie was a 25 years old detective from Boston that was temporarily transferred to the Jackson police department after The chef of Jackson called Boston police for help a week ago. Nobody in the Jackson police knows the real reason the new detective was there. Only the chief of police and the man beside her know why she was in the police department in Jackson. Ellie was in charge of the investigation of a few strange murders that have been occurring back in Boston and it is seen that those cases have brought her to the small town. Some of the police officers In Jackson thought that Ellie was too young for the job she was doing, but the chief has put her in charge of the mysterious murders.

"You should slow down a little, Willians… is not like we're in any rush to get there." said the man sitting beside her in the car. Said a 35-year-old police detective named Marcus Rodney. He was assigned to be her partner by the chief of police of Jackson.

"If you don't like how I drive, you can get out of the car any time you want," said Ellie with an annoyed tone. "I didn't ask for a partner… so this is not my choice. I always prefer to work alone," she said while continuing to drive at full speed on the streets. She evaded the other cars around her making the man beside her probably sick. "I don't know why the chief put you with me, you only will be on my way."

"Well, sorry that you're stuck with me… but you've only been here a week and the chief wants to make sure that you do your job… I'm not only here to keep an eye on you, I'm here to help you too."

"Oh… that is nice, but I don't need a babysitter to do my job. I can do it fine on my own… thank you."

"I don't know how… you seem too young to be a detective. I know that the chief asked for help, but I didn't know that they were sending someone this young." he turned his head when Ellie gave him a ( are you Sirius) look. "I don't know what is going on here, this is just a small town where nothing serious happened here."

"Well, I can see that all that has changed in the last few weeks," said Ellie without looking at him.

"We have a few murders before… but not as strange as the few new ones. I bet that you have more work back in Boston… that is a big city. So this will be a piece of cake for you here. I hear that you were working in some strange cases too and-Ahhh…" the man has to hold on in the seat when Ellie takes an abrupt turn on the street. "Shit women… that was a red light… and an illegal turn… Are you trying to kill us before we get there?"

"Just stop whining and stay out of my way when we get there… okay… I know what I'm doing and the last thing I need is someone over my shoulder interfering with my job."

A few minutes later they arrive at the warehouse where the crime occurred. Two police cars were parked at the entrance and a barricade was put up in front of the parking lot to keep curious people away from the crime scene. Ellie stops the car in front of the barricade and watches a police officer walking toward her.

"This area is close… you need to move…" the officer started but stopped as soon Ellie showed him her badge.

"I'm detective Willians… I was assigned to this case."

"Oh… sorry Detective Willians… Sergeant Morrison is inside the building waiting for you."

"Thank you… officer. I need a list of any witnesses that you people can find here. Talk to those people and see if someone saw anything last night… okay?"

"Yes… ma'am."

"Has the forensic arrived?"

"Yes, ma'am. I think they are inside already." answer the officer.

"Shit!... Just let me in, and I will take care of the rest."

The officer ordered to open the barricade so Ellie's car could get in. Soon she parked close to the building entrance, she turned the engine off.

"Okay, I need to check the body inside and see what I can find. So I need you to talk with the officers out here and not let anyone else go inside while I check things up… okay?"

"Hey… I'm your partner… not your assistant… Besides, why do you need to check things alone in there?"

Ellie opens the door of her car and gets out. "Just do what I tell you… okay?" she said before starting to walk toward the building. Ellie entered the abandoned warehouse and walked toward the two officers that were close to the entrance checking the place. Soon Ellie gets closer to one of the officers and shows him her badge. "Hi, where is the body?"

One of the officers looked at her and asked. "Are you not too young to be a detective?"

Ellie put her badge in her back pocket and glared at the officer. "I don't think that question is irrelevant to the case… officer." Ellie was getting tired of the police officer making that comment every time they saw her. "Where is the body?"

"Sorry detective…" said the other officer. "Forgive my partner here, he is just a little concerned about all this. The bodies are on the second-floor ma'am, you can get up on that stair over there," he said while pointing to the direction of the stairs. "Also, the sergeant is there with the forensic guys."

"Bodies? I thought it was just one?" she quickly replied.

"Well, there is only one that looks very strange, but the rest of them were just… I don't know what happened here, but it looks like a real massacre up there… there's blood everywhere… and bodies part all around. I have to come down here just to clear my mind."

"I see… Thank you officer… and if you or any other officers find something let me know as quickly as possible okay?"

"Sure ma'am…"

Ellie starts walking toward the stair when she sees her annoying partner running toward her. "Why all this mystery here? Yeah, we don't have too many people getting killed in this town, but everyone here, they're acting weird… like they have never seen a dead body before."

Ellie turns around and looks at him. "What the hell are you doing in here? I didn't tell you to stay outside?"

"Hey… you're not my boss… princes. Besides, the officer outside will take care of the perimeter… I just want to see what is going on here."

"I think you will be sorry to say that after you see what is up there…"

Both of them start to walk again and get up the stairs. Soon they get to the second floor. They saw more officers checking the place around. They were taking pictures and collecting evidence. Ellie started looking around and saw all the blood on the floor and walls.

"What the fuck… the hell happened here?" ask her partner as soon he saw all the blood around.

"I told you that you will change your mind as soon as you get up here," said Ellie before they start to walk again toward the middle of the place where the forensic and the sergeant were. Soon Ellie got closer she speak again. "So anyone is going to tell me… what happens here? I thought that I let myself clear that I need to check the place first?"

The 50-year-old Sargent turned his head and looked at her. "Sorry… if this does not complete your standard, but we can't wait for you to arrive," said the sergeant. " Look at this place?" he pointed at the bodies around. Ellie looked around and saw the circle painting on the floor with blood and the bodies that were covered with white sheets. "I don't know you, but whatever do this? Have to be a satanic cult … all the bodies in the circle were mutilated except for the one in the middle… that one looks very different from other murders I see before… I can't even explain how this happened here … this was a quiet town," The man turned around and looked at the forensic guys. "You… you can take off the blanket… of that one."

The men removed the blanket that was covering one of the victims so that way Ellie could see it. "I don't even know what to think about this, but this is not normal." Soon the body was exposed, Ellie's partner turned around to cover his mouth as he got sick at the sight. The man ran toward one of the walls of the place and threw up.

Ellie looks at him and shakes her head. Then move toward the body and look at it. "I don't know who calls you this fast, but nobody suppose to touch the bodies before I get here," said Ellie while crushing beside the body. "You could have contaminated the scene."

"I don't know what you mean… but I'm a professional and this is my job. I don't know who the hell are you… but we can't wait for you. The bodies were discovered this morning, what I see they're been dead for at least 24 hours, so we need to move fast."

The Sargent moves closer to them. Besides, we do things by the book here, so no way the crime scene could be contaminated," he said with an indignant tone.

"Well, I don't care how professional people can be here… there is always the possibility of contamination. Besides, I was assigned to this case, so for now on… not body examined the bodies before I do." Ellie turns her head toward the forensic guy and extends her hand toward him. "Can you give me two of those?" The forensic guy gave Ellie a look, but passed her the two gloves and moved away.

The man moves close to the sergeant and whispers. "Who does she think she is?"

"I don't know… some detective that was sent here from Boston… but the chief put her in charge of this for some reason." The man watched her as Ellie examined the body. "What do you think happened here?" asked the sergeant. "Who could do something like this?"

"I don't know yet… but that is why I'm here… to find out who could do been doing this."

Her partner came back and got closer to her. "Sorry from before… I never saw a body like this. It almost looks like a mommy."

"I checked the other two victims we found two weeks ago… and they don't look like this one… this one look like all her blood was sucked out from her body," said the forensic guy.

"That is true…" said the sergeant. "I never seen something like this in all my carrier… who the fuck could do something this sick?"

Her partner looked at the sergeant. "And look what they do to the other victims… shit! Who can do something like that? It has to be a fucking demonic cult."

"Could be a vampire…" said the Sargent joking.

Ellie turns her head and looks at him. "You should not be talking like that here… do you think this is a joke? Until we don't get all the facts we could not be speculating anything." Ellie turns her head and continues checking the body. She looks at the victim's neck but does not find any mark on it. Oh, this is new. She said to herself while continuing. After a few minutes, she stood up and took the gloves off. "I need to do a better look later, but you can take it back to the police morgue now."

"What do you think happened to her?" asked the sergeant more serious now.

"I don't know… I need more information." After checking the other bodies, Ellie takes her phone out and moves away from them.

"Okay guys start to pack them up… and I want this place double checked… Whoever does this, could leave something behind that we can use to find who is responsible for all this death before it happens again." said the Sargent before walking away from the place.

Ellie walks to the far wall of the building while marking some numbers on her phone. She needs to be away from the officers there, so no one can hear her. After a few ringing, the person that she was calling answered the phone.

"How are you doing over there girl… did you find anything?"

"I think so… the police here just found a warehouse with a few dead bodies, but the real mystery is how one of them was really sucked dry. I check the body and I didn't see any mark on it, so I don't know how the woman was sucked up."

"Yeah… that sounds interesting… so what do you think?"

I don't know… but I have a bad feeling about this. They make it look like a satanic cult. I don't know why, but I can bet is him…" Ellie stops and looks at her back as soon she hears something close. "Bill, I think he is here and he is planning something… I know."

"Are you sure about that? Could be another vampire clan… his is not the only one in the USA."

"I just saw the victims… and they did not even care to hide them… and the main victim looks like a young woman… and I know how he loves to suck them young. The woman was all sucked dry with no sight of any struggle… so I'm pretty sure is him. The others were all just kill and dismembered all completely messed up. I never saw anything like that before… not even with him… but I know it has to be him."

"Can be someone new… he hasn't attacked since you attacked his castle and destroyed his net in New York. I don't even think he is alive… after that, he doesn't even show his face anywhere."

"I know… but something tells me that he is back… and this time I'm not going to let him escape."

"Okay… let said that he is there somewhere… So what do we do?"

"I need you here as soon as possible… and bring all my equipment with you… I think we're going to need it. In the meantime. I want you to use your magic and see what you can find About David and this town. We need all the information we can get before making our move."

"I will see what I can find and call you as soon I have something. I will get there as soon as I can, so be careful before I do… I don't want you to go after him before I get there. Don't let him find out that you're after him again… or he will come after you."

"Don't worry Bill… I will keep my eyes open. I know how he likes to hide in plain sight, so if you find anything on him… let me know."

"Sure… I will keep you informed."

"Thanks… Bill… I have to go, so see you soon…" Ellie hangs up the call as soon as she hears someone walking close to her.

"I was wondering where you go… Sooo… who you're talking with?" asked Marcus.

"Just a friend of mine…" Ellie turns around and looks at him. "I was checking if he put water in my plants."

"I'm really surprised that you have any friends… for what I hear not many people like you on the police back in Boston."

Ellie put her phone back in her pocket and start walking. "You will be surprised by what some people think about me… but I guess not of that is your fucking business."

The man turns around when she passes beside him and starts to follow her. Don't have to be so cold… but back to our job… what do you think about all this… detective? Do you think that we have a demonic cult here? Or is something else?"

Ellie turned her head and look at him. "I'm not sure what all this is about… But I can tell you that we will find who is responsible for this and get him." Ellie continued walking until they get to where the forensics were starting to pick up the bodies or what was left of them. I will check around and see what I can find… so you can go back to the car if you like."

"We have people here for that… You're a detective you don't need to do it yourself."

"Well, I don't know how the police work here… but I always like to check things myself.… in case they could miss something." Ellie starts to walk around the place looking at the floor and walls.

While Ellie continued checking the place out looking for any clue. A shadow figure was looking at the warehouse through a window from a closed building. The man observed her for

half an hour before he disappeared. After Ellie checks the place out and does not find anything that can help her to find the people that do this. She decides to get out of there and get back to the police station.

Marcus was outside waiting for her. "So did you find anything that can help us with this case?" said her partner with his arm crossed on his chest and his body leaning on the front of her car.

"Sadly… no. So I will let you people do the rest. But you can go back to the station and give your report to the chief."

The man laughs a little at that. "You mean we… You think because this is a small town we don't know how to do things around here?"

"I didn't say that… but I don't think that this town police department is prepared to handle what is going on here," said Ellie while moving to the driver's door and going inside the car. "You can stay if you want," she said before starting the engine.

Marcus moves and goes to the other side of the car. "Am I telling you this was done by a satanic cult?" The officer tried to open the door but it was locked. "Can you open the door?"

"I'm not going to the police station, so see if one of your people can give you a ride."

"What do you mean? I have the order to stay with you all the time while you work on the case."

Ellie started the engine and put the gear on the drive. "I have to do something alone, so I will see you later… Marcus…" Ellie pushes the accelerator and starts to drive away. Marcus moves away from the car and watches her drive toward the entrance of the parking lot stop there and order the officers to open the barricade, so she can go out. Marcus looks at her but did not try to run after her. So he just watched her leave.

"Bitch…" said Marcus before turning around and looking for an officer that can give him a ride back to the station.

While Ellie was driving back to her motel room, she called Bill again. "Hey… I didn't find anything on the crime scene that can help us… But I notice that any of the victims there don't have any ID on them. Actually, there was nothing personal there. All the victims were naked and we don't find any clothes there. I don't get all this… Things look different from the last time we find him… it seems that he is changing how he works… maybe that is why we didn't find him before."

"Oh… I see. Well, I checked on the internet and I have not found anything yet… are you sure is him? Can be someone else… like some regular killers or something."

"No… I know is him… and I know that what happens in that warehouse is a work of a vampire, so I'm sure … that it has to be him."

"I know that you want to get him, but why does a vampire lord want to go there? Jackson is a small town and leaving dead naked people in a warehouse is going to attract too much attention."

"I told you… is him, Bill. And I bet that he leaves all those bodies there for me to find them."

"Why? Even if it is him… why does he do that? The last thing he will want is attracting you there or any authority in Jackson, if he really been hiding there all this time."

"I think that was why he did it… to attract my attention… and I bet that he has someone watching that place waiting for me to show up."

Bill stays quiet for a few seconds. "Ellie… if this is a trap… you need to stay low until I get there… okay?"

"Maybe I can use this… to make him come out from his hiding place… So I need to buy a few things before you get here."

"Ellie doesn't do anything stupid… just wait for me… okay?"

"Don't worry Bill… I will be fine… so I call you later okay… just try to find any information about this town. I need to know why he chose this place."

"Okay… but be careful and don't do anything drastic until I get there… okay."

"You're starting to sound like me dad… but okay…" Ellie hangs up the call and continues driving until she gets to a hardware store.

After Ellie buys all she needs, she gets back to her car put it in the trunk and drives back to the police station to give the chief her part of the report. That is not going to be much, since she does not recollect anything there and she can't talk about her suspicion of what happened in that warehouse or about the vampire problem they already have. Who is going to believe her? She can't prove anything yet and telling them about David is only going to make things worse. So she goes to the police chief and lies.

"So are you telling me that you didn't find anything on the crime scene that can help us to find out who the killer is?" the man said with a really disappointed tone. "For God's sake… they not even leave their head there."

"Is not my fault sir… you people get there first and I-" she was interrupted again.

"I was not finished yet… I call Boston for help and they send you… I don't even mind when I saw how young you were, but I thought that I can trust you to do your job… Also, you leave your partner there… in the middle of the investigation… and that is something I'm not going to tolerate." said the chief with a mad tone.

"Sorry sir, but my investigation is just started… and I was not even able to examine the Previous victims since they disappear from your own morgue. Yeah, I was sent here to help you, but for that, I need to work freely… I don't need someone on my back getting in the way of my investigation."

"You're not from here… detective and I'm the chief of police here… not you. So you will work with Marcus you like it or not. If you want to do your job better I suggest you start… and work with the personnel I assign you… is that clear?" The man stood up and slammed the file he has in his hand on the desk.

"Yes sir," said Ellie not liking the tone of the man. She doesn't ask to come here, so she can go, but if her suspicions are correct, she neep to find David as soon as she can, before this town goes to hell.

After a few minutes, Marcus enter the office and sat beside Ellie. "Thanks for letting me there," he said without looking at her.

"And thanks for in form the shift that I did," she answer without looking at him too.

"Okay… you two shot the fuck up… this is not high school and you're not kids. Now… stop fighting and do your job both of you. Is going to take time for the forensic to give a report of what he finds. So I suggest you two go back to your desk and work better on this case. I already have a lot of problems here to add more." the man sat down and look at them. "Now get back to work and stop saying that is devil cult… that was for you Marcus… the last thing we need here is getting people worried.

"But that is what it looks like… sir…" said officer Marcus. "Besides I don't know why we should trust what she finds. She already thinks that we're all ignorant and incompetent." said the man while looking at her.

"I never said that." She looked at the man, then looked at the police chief. "I just want to find who kill all those people… but I need to do it alone… sir."

"That is not going to happen… detective. We also have rules here… and since you're not from Jackson I need someone to keep an eye on you."

"I prefer to do this alone sir…" said Ellie again before standing up. "I don't need a babysitter… just let me do my job… and I promise you that I will find the person responsible for this."

"You will do that with the help of your partner here and that is final… now both of you get out of my office… before I get really mad. Just find the ones responsible for this. This is a small town… I'm sure you two can find something soon."

Ellie rolled her eyes before standing up. "I will catch them, sir… don't need to worry about it." Ellie walk toward the door and opened it. She looks at Marcus before going out of the office.

"You better be… that is why you came here… " said the gift while watching her go out and close the door.

Marcus looks at the door, the back to the chief. "I think this girl is trouble, sir… and I also think that she is hiding something."

"Just keep an eye on here… and remember, you were the one that suggest that I call for help. So I suggest now, that you two work together and find those killers before more people die."

"Yes sir."

"We haven't had crime like this in more than 40 years and I don't want them to continue… so catch those killers."

"Yes sir… I will." The man stood up and turned around. He walked toward the door and got out of the office.

(In another place)

In a mansion located outside the town, a man was walking up the stair. Soon he gets to the second floor of the house. He walks toward the last room in the corridor where he was received by the man that was guarding the room.

The man in front of the door moved to stop him as he see him. "The master is busy right now and he doesn't want to be disturbed."

"He is expecting me… so get out of my way." the man starts to move forward, but the guard stops him.

"I have the order to not let any-Arrggg!" The man started t talk but was stopped when he was grabbed by the neck.

"You must be new here… so I guess that you don't know who I'm." the man's face changed in a second showing the guard his vampire's face. "I will let this pass this time, but if you try to get in my way again I will kill you on the spot… is that clear?" the man opens his mouth and showed him his fang.

"Yess… sir… I'm clear."

"Good…" he said before tossing the man away from the door and making him land on the other side of the corridor. Then the vampire turn around and opened the door. Soon he got inside, he saw his master on his altar chair with a naked young woman in his lap fucking her while drinking her blood from her neck. He notice that the girl was not moving except for the movement the vampire lord was making her do. The man quickly lowers his head before speaking. "Sorry for the interruption master, but you told me to come directly to you as soon as we have some news from the girl you're expecting to show up at the warehouse."

His master continues sucking the blood out of the young girl for a few more minutes before he moves his mouth away from her neck and looks at him. I hope this will be good Mortis… I don't like to be interrupted when I drink and fucking my dinner." he grab the girl's body like it was nothing and tossed it away from his lap and toward the floor away from him. He grabs his robe and put it on before looking a the man again. "Now, come closer and tell me everything… and I hope is good news…" he moved his arm up to his face and wiped out the remaining blood from his mouth. The vampire lord stands up from the chair and slowly walks toward the man. "So… what news do you have for me?"

"One of our people… saw the girl arrive at the warehouse after the police showed up…"

The Vampire master moves closer to the man and moves his head close to his shoulder. "Are you sure it was her? I don't like to leave evidence to the police for nothing," he said in a menacing way. You could be my second in command, but that easily can change.

"Yes… yes, master… I'm sure it was her," he said with a trembling voice.

"Good…" He said while moving away from him. "And she was alone?"

"She arrives in a car with another man, but he was from the local police."

David turn around and start to walk back to his chair. "I don't think she came all the way from Boston alone… so I want you and a group of your best men to pay her a visit and bring her to me… a life. If she came with someone else… kill him." The Vampire lord walks back to his chair and sits down. "Remember I want her alive… so just bring her here and don't screw up this. I have some plans for her."

The man bowed. "Yes, master… we will bring her here as you wish."

David waves his hand to dispatch the man out of his room. "Oh, and before you go out send someone to clean this out… I don't like to see my dinner on the floor."

(Back to the police station)

A few hours later Ellie was in front of a board looking at the pictures of the victim of the warehouse and all the evidence they collect. She knows that David leaves her a massage there, but can't find what.

"So what do you think who does this? Are you still thinking that it wasn't a devil cult?" Said her assigned partner as soon as he entered the room.

Ellie continues looking at the pictures, already knowing who kills all those people… the question was why? why did he do that and why he was here? "I don't think… they are a devil cult… but if that makes you feel better go ahead and follow that lead," she said without even looking at the man.

"You think that you know everything, don't you? That we're just little town police officers that don't know anything."

Ellie turns around and looks at the man. "How many crimes like this, has this town had in the last 20 years?"

"None that I remember… but this town was good and quiet until the past few months."

"That was what I thought." Ellie turns around again and continues looking at the pictures. "Look, we're dealing here with something you and your people don't understand," she said while moving close to one of the pictures.

"Like what? A serial killer?" The man walked toward the wallboard and stopped beside her. "We don't have any clue who else could do something like that. They cut 5 bodies into little pieces and we did not even find their heads there or any information on who they were. And the one in the middle? Jesus… I have never seen anything like that in my whole life."

"Then I hope that you never see something like this again." Ellie waits for a few minutes. "Did anyone find any identification in the warehouse? Or any personal belongings?"

"No that was one of the problems. And the laboratory has nothing that can id them yet. So we have nothing."

"And what do you think the killers do with their clothes?"

"I don't know… but the important thing was… why they leave the bodies there and take their head.?"

"Maybe because they do not want us to know who they're… but that only going to buy them time. They must know that sooner or later we going to find a way to id the victims."

"Yeah… and it works… because so far we have nothing," Ellie moved away from the wallboard and grabbed her jacket from one of the chairs there. "I need to go…"

The man turns around and looks at her. "Wait? Are you leaving? You know that you can go anywhere without me."

"My turn here is over for today… and is late, so I will go back to my motel and get some sleep," she said while continuing walking toward the door.

"But it is not that late… we can still work on this."

"Well… if you want to stay here and work more, go ahead… I need a shower and some rest, so see you tomorrow," she said before opening the door and getting out. Ellie already knows who is behind this, the question is why leave all those bodies to get found? Normally vampire hides their victim to not attract attention, so why do they leave them there to be founded? Unless they want them to be found on purpose. Ellie gets out of the police station and walks toward her car. Soon she gets inside her phone and starts to ring.

"Bill… do you have something for me?"

"Yes… and I don't think you're going to like it."

A/N: Well, I hope you like the first chapter even if is not a well done story. Anyway, is going to be a short one only 6 chapters and an Epilogo.
