Boomer Ch. 1
A little boy, not older than five, watched as his only living family, his older sisters, was taken off to jail.
Boomer stood silent on the street, in his tattered, dirty red dress.
His blue eyes were wide.
A rain drop fell onto the street, such a small happening, such a quiet sound.
A voice spoke.
"We would lock you up too, but you're just a child..."
Tears of anger welled up in Boomer's eyes.
He was considered a child, but his sister wasn't?
"And because of this..."
The officer waved his hand at Boomer, and then the departing police car.
"...unfortunate accident, we'll have to send you to a school. A boarding school."
Boomer was silent.
As he was driven to this mysterious school, Boomer suddenly felt weary from the day's sudden and tragic events.
With the thoughts of his beloved sister in mind, he slowly drifted into a well-needed sleep.
