I don't own Highschool DxD. Ichiei Ishibumi does.

The springtime of youth. It is that time when young men and women go through their high school years with the hopes of finding that special someone. The someone who they will date and hopefully will complete them. Boys and girls were all the same in that regard. And so, a young man sat on a bench underneath a tree with melon bread in his hands. The bread looked tantalizing enough to devour whole.

Shinku Faulkner. Typical high school student. A man who went to this school at the behest of his childhood best friend.

A small black dog barked and rubbed itself against its leg.

"Come on girl. I told you not to follow me to school." He bent down and stroked the dog's fur. The dog barked, sitting down on its haunches and panting.

"You know that no matter what you do, she'll always follow you here. I think it's time you ask the Class President to let you bring her with you, Shin," a voice said from his head.

"You know I can't do that." He shrugged and bit into his bread. Oh? His brown eyes caught sight of something interesting.

Issei Hyoudou, Tanigo Motohama, and Yatsuhiro Matsuda. The Perverted Trio. The bane and enemy of women everywhere. The three were at it again, standing outside the changing room and hiding in a bush.

"What do you think's going to happen this time? Do you think they'll get caught like all the other times?" the voice asked.

"Vivi, you know why I eat lunch out here right?" he asked.

"Sometimes, you should just leave him. It's not like Murayama will beat him up too badly," Vivi said.

Shin sighed. As if on cue, the two heard a scream coming from Issei's direction.

"And that's our signal," Shin said, crumpling up his wrapper. He got up and saw Issei, Matsuda, and Motohama running in his direction.

As the three passed, Shin reached out and grabbed Issei by the back of the collar.

"S- Shin!" Issei's face looked relieved.

"Come on. This way," he said, running in the opposite direction. The two ran back into Kuoh through another door as the Kendo Club girls passed them brandishing their bokkens with righteous fury.

"Thank God! If you hadn't shown up!" Issei said, tears of happiness streaming down his face.

"No problem man."

Issei and Shinku were best friends. And thus, Shinku was extremely familiar with Issei's habits. He didn't know when it started but it started. Issei's perversion. He surmised that it had something to do with Irina leaving, but he recalled the two made a pinky promise. And from what he read in Issei's diary, he banished that thought from his head. This situation to Shin was normal. Rescuing his best friend from getting beat into oblivion by the Kendo Girls.

A bark made itself known behind them.

"Eh? Ran? Ran is here?" Issei looked behind and saw a small black shiba inu running behind them.

"No time, just hurry!" Shin said.

The two burst into the classroom panting, their hands on their knees. Issei gave Shin a thumbs up to which the dark-haired boy did the same. Ran barked, running around them and inadvertently catching the attention of every girl in the classroom.

"Look!"

"It's so kyuuuuuuute!"

"I want to take her home!"

"Ran-chaaaan!"

Ran was popular. Very popular amongst the female populace of Issei and Shin's classroom. The dog was known for coming to school every day to be with her master. Shin sighed as the girls swarmed him, knocking Issei to the ground. He gave his friend a pleading look that Issei immediately understood.

"Hey. Hey, girls! I'm here too and… Ran, here girl!"

The dog barked happily and ran towards Issei, hopping into his arms. Almost immediately, the girls dispersed and headed back to their seats.

"Why does Shin-kun hang out with that pervert?"

"That pervert should go die."

"Death to all perverts."

Shin glared at the class, walking over to Issei, who had a wide smile as Ran licked him all over his face.

"Ran, come here."

Ran hopped off Issei's arms and right into Shin's. The two walked back to their seats. Coincidentally, Issei and Shin sat next to each other.

"Should we have brought Motohama and Matsuda too?" Issei asked.

"Nah, we're fine. Besides, I'm sure Murayama is straightening them out good." Shin reached into the pocket of his blazer and tossed Issei a melon bread.

"I just hope Yuki doesn't really… you know." Issei flinched as he involuntarily crossed his legs.

"Thanks. Thanks for that. I totally needed that image in my head." Shin grimaced as the image of Yuki hitting Motohama and Matsuda so hard that their testicles exploded appeared in his head.

"No, but really. Thanks, man. You're always there to save my ass from getting beat," Issei said, holding out his fist.

"Anytime," Shin said, fist-bumping him.

Shin waited outside of the school, leaning against the gate. He was reprimanded by the student council president but not as harshly as she once did. Ran's presence quickly extinguished the fiery flames of Sona Shitori.

"Hehh? Does getting scolded by someone with a fake name really turn you on?" Vivi made herself known.

"We're not going to discuss this. I don't want to deal with them. If they want to go to school then let them. Besides, where's Issei? We're going to be late for our shift." Shin looked down at his watch.

"SHIIIIIN!"

He turned around and looked at a running Issei.

"What? What? What happened?" he asked, looking worried for a split second.

"I, ISSEI HYOUDOU, HAVE A DATE TOMORROW!" he pumped his fist as a look of pure joy manifested itself on his face.

"Eh? Some girl felt sorry for your ass and asked you out?" Shin grinned, feeling happy for the man. Issei was a generally nice guy. His perversion might be a turn-off but he was genuinely kind. Any girl who took the time to get to know him would know that.

"Ran! Guess what?"

The dog tilted her head and barked.

"I have a date!" Issei danced outside the school's gates cheering as other students walked by, looking at him weirdly. Shin sighed but settled for feeling happy for his friend.

"Come on, tell me while we're working. We're gonna be late for our shift at Hatch Potch," Shin said.

The Hatch Potch was a quaint little pub located within the suburbs of Kuoh. It was far from the downtown area but still managed to rake in a respectable number of people. Despite being known as a pub, it was more of a cafe. In addition to selling alcoholic drinks, they sold coffee, tea, and lunch. Shin's parents had founded the restaurant when they moved to Kuoh seventeen years ago. And it was here that Issei and Shin were running around, serving people coffee and tea.

Issei's reputation within the neighborhood was drastically different from his reputation inside the school.

Here, Issei was rather respected due to his kind and friendly service.

"Here you go. One vanilla mocha for you and one caramel macchiato for you," Issei said, setting the cups down.

The two women thanked him and Issei walked back into the kitchen. The high he experienced when that girl asked him out was still there. And of course, it translated to his work and to his customers. The pub had a good energy about it.

"Still thinking about that girl?" Shin asked, walking into the kitchen.

"Y- Yeah."

"Ara, Ise-chan has a girlfriend now?" The two turned around and saw a woman with black hair walking in. She had long black hair and brownish-red eyes and a rather pretty face. Her uniform hugged her body, accentuating some of her bigger curves. She could honestly be described as the perfect woman if not for the devilish smirk that could be seen on her face. Issei's cheeks turned red a little upon seeing her.

"Aka-nee! You scared the shit out of me!" Issei clutched his chest, causing the older girl to laugh.

"Nee-nee. Aren't you supposed to be running the bar?" Shin asked.

Akane Faulkner was Shinku's older sister by one year. Like Shin, she went to Kuoh Academy. However, she was a year above them and was rather busy studying. Well, she was busy when she wasn't helping run the family business. Akane had a small smile on her face as she watched the two. And Shin knew that his best friend formerly had a small crush on her when they were in middle school.

"Oh don't worry. I just came back here to get the food that you were supposed to be cooking." Akane's face had a serene but threatening smile on it. Shin blanched and continued cooking.

"I have a date tomorrow. Do you guys think I can get off early?" Issei asked, fidgeting with his uniform.

Akane and Shin looked at each other, having a silent conversation with their eyes. It creeped Issei out whenever they did that. In the seventeen years that Issei knew Shin and Akane, their wordless conversations were the creepiest part of it. It was like the two had telepathy.

"Alright, fine but…" Akane walked up to Issei. Issei turned red a little as his best friend's older sister got close. "You have to tell us all about it the next day okay?"

"You got it, Aka-nee!" Issei said.

"Oi, Issei, be careful okay?" Shin said.

"Come on, man. You know me. I'll be super extra careful but more importantly…" Issei's breathing hitched as images of having a girlfriend he could fondle entered his head. He might actually have a chance to no longer be an omega virgin. And the fact that Issei had a girlfriend before his best friend was something that raised his ego.

"Go on. Shin and I will handle the floor, front, and kitchen. There aren't that many people," Akane said, shooing him with her hand. Issei nodded gratefully and ran back into the employee changing room. Akane sighed and turned to her younger brother.

"I can't believe Issei got a girlfriend already. Time flies by so fast." She wiped a mock tear from her eyes.

"Nee-nee. The bar."

"Don't be such a mood killer. When Issei gets back tomorrow, I'm serving him a beer." Akane walked back into the pub with the food that Shin finished.

"Your sister is serving beer to minors…" Vivi said.

"Is that new? Nee-san's been doing that for ages now," Shin said, grabbing the next ticket.

"Shin!" He looked up and saw Issei back in their school uniform. "I'll see you after the date the next day! Maybe I can ask Yuuma if she has a friend I can hook you up with!"

"You do that." Yuuma, huh? Shin smiled as Issei ran out the back door of the pub.

"Thank you for coming!" Akane sighed as the last customer left. She walked to the front and switched the sign to closed.

"Finally. We're done," Shin said, sitting down in one of the chairs.

"It was that last few," Akane said, sitting down across from him.

"Can I come out now?"

"Yeah, just have a seat, Vivi." Water particles swirled in the air around a chair, coalescing and condensing into a vaguely human shape. The water glowed brightly, filling the entire room before dying down. In the chair sat a girl with blue hair styled in twin tails. She wore an oversized track jacket and a black skirt. Her eyes were crystal blue like the surface of a pristine lake.

"Do you want something to drink, Vivi?" Akane smiled at the woman who appeared from seemingly nothing.

"No, thanks. I don't feel like getting drunk today." Vivi placed her feet on the table. She spotted some pistachios left from service and grabbed one. Cracking the shell open, she popped it into her mouth. "Sho, are you going to follow Isshei on hish date tomorrow?"

"Why would I do that?" Shin asked, placing his hand on his chin.

"Becaushe.."

"Please don't talk with your mouth full," Akane said.

Vivi swallowed her food. "Wouldn't it be fun to see the girl that asked Issei out?" Vivi said, smiling at the two of them.

"Hmmm."

"I would love to!"

"Nee-nee!" Shin looked at his older sister with a shocked look on his face. "This is a total invasion of Issei's privacy!"

"Let me finish. I would love to but I have a meeting tomorrow with a few friends from school. So, unfortunately, Shin-chan will follow Issei for me!" Akane clapped her hands together and smiled.

"H- Hey, shouldn't we respect Issei's privacy and let him enjoy his date?" he asked.

"Where's the fun in that?" they both said.

"Actually, Issei told me at school that he was taking his date here for lunch so all we have to do is wait for them to get here," Shin said, giving Vivi and Akane a dry look.

The two looked at each other then back to Shin.

"Can I be a waitress here tomorrow?" Vivi asked.

Contrary to what Issei had said, the man had enough of a sixth sense to know impending doom when he felt it. Shin had to at least give his best friend credit where credit was due. Rather than taking her to Hatch Potch, Issei took her to an ice cream shop in the business district.

The girl that had asked Issei out was rather pretty. She had long black hair with pinkish-violet eyes. She had fairly large breasts, leaving no room for doubt in Shin's mind that this was the reason his friend said yes. The girl wore a short black dress with a light-purple jacket on top. The girl smiled and laughed at everything Issei said, making Shin feel proud.

There was only one odd thing that had happened that day. Earlier, Issei had into her familiar. What that woman's familiar was doing out there, Shin didn't know. Despite that, he preferred not to. He and his family had stayed under the radar so far thanks to their parents and he wanted it to stay that way.

"Ran, why are we here again?" Shin stroked the fur of the dog in his arms.

"Because Akane-sama and Vivi-sama told us to follow them." The dog yawned in his arms. Ran was no normal pet. Her master and Vivi were prone to trouble so she did her best to keep them out of it.

"By the way, Master, that woman is odd." Ran sniffed the air.

"Odd how?" Shin asked, looking through the window.

"She smells like a crow."

Shin's heart stopped when he heard that. Whenever Ran said that something smelled like a crow, he knew what she meant. Ran was referring to a Fallen Angel. The girl sitting across from Issei was a Fallen Angel.

"Now wait a minute…" Shin said in denial. "Maybe she has a pet crow?"

"Master, you know what I mean. She's a Fallen." Ran licked her paw before looking at him.

"Well… we can't do anything. There's too many people out here. We need to wait until they're alone," Shin said.

And so that was how Shin's day went. He was proud of himself. He never thought he could pull off stealth but he did for some reason. The Fallen had not noticed him once. Her attention was solely fixated on his friend.

"Why the hell do you keep taking her to places with lots of people?" Shin grumbled under his breath. He was stalking them from a distance to make sure that he wasn't noticed. Not that it was difficult. Issei didn't really have a good sense of spatial awareness. One would think that getting clobbered by the Kendo Club on an almost daily basis would do something about it.

"Master, they're heading to an empty park," Ran said.

"Thanks, Ran." Shin began following them. "Wait… where did they?" He looked around. Did the two turn a corner when he wasn't paying attention? Shin walked down the pathway towards the fountain when he heard someone speak.

"Ise-kun, can you do me a favor?" Shin's eyes widened as he ducked behind a bench. He and Ran peeked over, seeing the girl looking at Issei. He had to admit, despite his perversion, Issei had style. Taking a girl as beautiful as she was to a fountain when the sun set at the right angle was smooth. It made for a romantic setting. If he wasn't so hellbent on saving Issei's life, he would be eating popcorn waiting for Issei to kiss her.

"What is it, Yuuma-chan?" he asked.

So that's Yuuma? Shin thought.

"Will you die for me?"

"Huh?"

"Huh?"

The words took a second to register within Shin and Issei's brains. Of the two, Shin reacted first. In the second that it took that woman relishing Issei's confusion, Shin held his arms out.

"Ran!"

"Yes!" Ran leaped into the air and summoned spears of black flames.

The Angel seemed to have taken notice of the sudden burst of magical power and jumped back. The flames pierced through, melting the concrete on the ground and fountain.

"What…? Black fire?" Yuuma narrowed her eyes as she manifested a pink light spear.

"Eh? B- Black fire?" Issei looked at the flaming spears before him. A black dog landed in front of Issei, growling. "R- Ran?"

The black shiba inu had red lines running across her body and a black flame covered her fur.

"An inugami?" Yuuma grit her teeth. Her senses went haywire as she dodged to the left. "W- what?"

A pair of blue laser-like shots flew past her and hit a lamppost, knocking it over.

"ISSEI! GET BEHIND ME!" Shin jumped out of the bushes, wielding two black and blue pistols.

"S- Shin!?" Issei said.

"A familiar master?" Yuuma tilted her head. A wicked smile spread across her face. Of all the people she had to run into, it was a familiar master and a subpar inugami. "And here I was worried that you were someone else. Fufufufu…"

"Sorry for not meeting your expectations then." Shin pointed his pistols at her.

"S- Shin? Why are you shooting at Yuuma?" Issei asked.

"Issei, she's not what she seems. Stay behind me if you want to live okay?" Shin said.

"Wait! I'm so confused! What the hell is-" Issei's eyes widened as a spear stopped inches from his face.

Shin held his hand out, a blue shimmering barrier in front of Issei.

"Tch." Yuuma clicked her tongue and created two more spears.

"Who are you and why are you here?" Shin asked, keeping his guns trained on her.

"Why am I here? Well, you can blame God for what he put in your friend. Hahaha!" Her entire body glowed as she began to transform. Her clothes peeled off her body, ripped to shreds as the power wrapped around her. A pair of black bird wings appeared on her back and her clothes were replaced by what couldn't be called clothes. Her entire outfit could be described as one BDSM costume. Her breasts were barely covered by a pair of leather straps and a black leather thong covered her crotch, held up by three thin straps.

Shin grimaced before looking to his friend. "O- OI! Are you seriously having a nosebleed right now!"

Issei blinked and wiped his nose. "Sorry, force of habit."

"Okay, so she's getting serious…" Shin turned back to the girl, who had begun levitating. "Issei, when I give you the word, run okay?"

She raised the two light spears in the air and threw them.

"NOW!" Shin appeared in front of Issei and fired at the spears. The blue energy blasts that came from the barrel of his pistols shattered the spears.

"What!?" Yuuma, or whatever her name was, looked on in rage. She formed three more light spears and threw them. However, her aim wasn't Shin. It was…

"Issei!" Shin shot the spears out of the air before turning to Yuuma and unleashing a volley of bullets.

Yuuma twisted and turned in the air, flying out of the way as she created three more light spears.

"It looks like I'll have to get rid of you FIRST!" she threw them at high speeds.

Shin slid to a stop as water manifested around him. The water shimmered and vibrated before transforming into a barrier composed of hexagons. The spears bounced off the barrier harmlessly.

"My turn!" Shin pressed his guns together and fired. Yuuma, who was in the process of forming a light spear, screamed as the bullets pierced her thigh. She faltered in the air, struggling to stay afloat as the pain began to overwhelm her.

"Raynare."

Shin froze as another Fallen Angel appeared in mid-air. The Angel was different this time. He looked like an older man, judging from his facial features. He wore a grey fedora with a suit underneath, complete with a matching trenchcoat. In his hand was a blue light spear.

Shin's heart dropped when he saw the blood on it.

"What is it, Dohnaseek!?" Raynare spat.

"I've taken care of it." His head was bowed.

"Fufufu…" A pained victorious smirk appeared on her face as she turned to face Shin. "Looks like you couldn't even save your friend. Now, it's your turn."

"You… YOU!" Shin's eyes glowed blue. The air crackled as water particles appeared around him. The water flickered and changed shape, becoming multiple swords.

"A Sacred Gear?" Dohnaseek said to himself as he prepared to throw the spear at Shin.

"Ran!" Shin yelled. Ran roared and fired a series of flaming spears at Dohnaseek. At the same time, Shin fired the swords at high speeds. The flaming spears and swords hit home, creating an explosion that rocked the fountain area. As the smoke cleared, Shin's eyes narrowed when he saw a double layered light barrier surrounding them.

"Looks like we underestimated you. No matter. Our work here is done," Dohnaseek said.

"W- Wait! Dohnaseek! What are you-!?"

"I hope we don't meet again." Shin and Dohnaseek's eyes met before a brief second before the older angel grabbed Raynare. The two disappeared in a flurry of black feathers, leaving Shin all alone in the park.

As he stood there, a thought came back to him.

"Issei…" Shin took off running in the direction he told Issei to escape without a second thought. He ran and ran but slowly came to a stop when he saw it.

Crimson hair that was more brilliant than strawberry blonde. Her figure belonged to that of a model and not a high school student. The girl wore the Kuoh Academy Uniform. She had long legs and creamy white skin with a round butt and large breasts. The girl knelt over Issei with a satisfied expression on her face. As if she noticed him standing there, the woman turned around.

Shin recognized her. Anyone could. Brown locked eyes with blue.

"You. You did..n't…" Shin felt his vision begin to swim. Sleep magic!? Fuuuu… Shin fell to the ground, unconscious.

"Looks like I have to wipe his…" the woman stepped back. Ran jumped in front of her unconscious master, growling and snapping at her. "An Inugami? Akeno."

A flash of red light illuminated the park as a red magic circle appeared next to her. Out of it appeared another woman. This woman could be described as a Yamato Nadeshiko. Her chest was even larger than that of the redheaded girl and she was slightly taller. She had long violet-black hair styled in a ponytail that was kept up by an orange ribbon. The girl wore the same uniform.

"Ara, ara, Rias-sama. What did you call me for?" Akeno said, a polite smile plastered on her face.

"Drop the formalities, Akeno. I need you to bring him back to his home and put the Inugami to sleep," Rias said. "I'll deal with this one."

Akeno turned to the unconscious Shin and nodded. Akeno walked over and held her hand out. Ran growled and jumped at Akeno, her fangs wreathed in black and red flames. She smiled as a magic circle appeared in front of her, blocking the dog.

Ran was blasted back by the recoil and got back up. However, she didn't get up fast enough.

"Please be a good dog and go to sleep," Akeno said. A series of magic circles appeared around Ran as she fell on her side.

"I'm done, Ria-" Akeno turned around to see that her friend was already gone. She sighed and walked over to Shin. Using magic, she levitated Shin into the air and began to teleport when she realized something.

"I… I don't know where he lives…" Akeno sighed.

It looks like she wasn't getting any sleep tonight.

Yes, this is my first attempt at an OC story for DxD. No, this OC will not replace Issei. This OC is Issei's friend. To be exact, this is one of Issei's childhood friends. Yes, he knows magic and no, he won't be dominating the entirety of everyone from the start. As you can see, he struggled fighting Raynare just now. Will he have a harem? I don't know yet. This is leaning more towards a single pairing. Please leave a review for more.
