Chapter 26: ... para bellum
Kal and Batman returned to League HQ to accompany Zatanna. There they met up with Flash and Martian Manhunter, to whom Kal explained his idea: he wanted to use the copy of the Fortress to lure Brainiac out. He hoped to lure the alien out of hiding, but he wasn't sure it would get the others out.
Batman had already thought about it, but he didn't have a clear idea of how to expose it to the others. So he just listened his mates and their ideas. Diana suggested going after Lex Luthor head on, but the media effect would destroy the League in the eyes of everyone, and the public and the government would probably turn against them. They'd made that mistake before, and they weren't going to make it again. Last time, Hal Jordan had saved their asses by sacrificing himself once again.
Their fight wasn't supposed to be exposed in pictures. They had to choose an isolated place. But they could only do so if they managed to lure them to a suitable place, or if they attacked the enemy base in a secluded spot. Because they had to have a hidden place where they could meet.
He straightened his head when he felt a look on him. An intense blue look, accompanied by a slight smile in corner much too seductive. But there was no one left.
"Where are J'onn and Barry? "
Clark widened his smile.
"They left two minutes ago. You were completely lost in thought. "
Bruce didn't answer, at fault. Clark resumed:
"Barry's off to explore a trail. Everyone's looking. If we get caught short... I want the apprentices to get to Mount Justice. "
The Bat nodded in agreement.
"The sooner they're safe, the better. It'll take away one of our worries. They'll leave the mansion tomorrow. "
Clark nodded in agreement.
"I'll join you in the morning. I'll stay here. "
Bruce frowned but said nothing more. He and Clark parted ways, leaving him deep in thought.
Bruce watched Tim pack his things for a few minutes, then signaled his presence by knocking on the open door. The teenager turned to him, glowering at him. Bruce sighed and came to sit on the edge of his bed.
"I know you're against our decision. Tim, what you need to understand is not that we don't believe in your abilities, far from it. But we want to protect you. Because we won't be able to be focused on our fight if we're afraid that you're going to get hurt. It's important to us. "
Tim seemed to probe him before nodding.
"I don't want anything to happen to you. I don't want today to be the last time we see each other."
Bruce was touched by what he said. He opened his arms to hug Tim, who took the opportunity to hug him too. Bruce hugged him tightly.
"We'll all come back, Tim. I promise you that. "
He held the boy against him for a moment, before he heard a noise on the stairs and released him.
"Finish packing your things. Conner should be done by now. "
Tim smiled and Bruce left the room. Downstairs, Dick and Alfred were talking. Bruce had talked to his butler about the situation, but his butler had refused to leave because if he needed to, there would be someone at the mansion to take care of him if he was hurt. Bruce couldn't deny him that. It was something that Alfred cared far too much about. Yet then he saw him reach for his coat and hat.
"Where are you going, Alfred? "
"I'm taking the boys into town and then I'm going to do some shopping, Master Wayne. I'll be back tonight. "
Shopping that took Alfred all day? Bruce was about to ask more questions when Clark came in with Conner from the hallway, obviously talking with him:
"Yes, I can do that. As long as you take care of him. "
Conner nodded with a smile. Then they looked up at Alfred.
"I'm off to do some shopping. I'll drop the boys off on the way. "
Clark frowned and looked up at Bruce, who caught his questioning. Their exchange of glances was interrupted by Tim, who was coming out of his room with all his bags, obviously struggling to carry them all. Bruce came to help him down the stairs.
"Are you sure you need to bring all this stuff? "
"Well, I took some clothes, something to keep me busy and also my outfit, with the few gadgets I have and... "
"You're taking the contents of your room, basically," Dick laughed.
Tim put down one of his bags to gently tap the older boy on the shoulder.
"You got it. Be careful, okay? "
Dick winked and ran his hand through the younger boy's hair, as Bruce sometimes did.
"Don't worry, with that hothead Jay with me and Clark and Bruce, I won't be in much danger. We'll look out for each other. And then we'll meet at Mount Justice for rollovers. "
"You keep an eye on Kon," Clark added with a smile.
He accompanied his sentence by patting his carbon copy on the shoulder.
"Yeah. I will! "
"Well, let's get the stuff in the car! "
Alfred and Dick were about to pick up Tim's bags when Kon grabbed them and carried them with ease. They all followed him out. Bruce noticed that Dick had grabbed his leather jacket.
"Are you going with them? "
Dick smiled mischievously at him.
"Jason has gone to Blüdhaven for phase one. Since there's a price on my head in that city, he went with Arsenal. So I'm going to accompany the guys to Mount Justice so you and Clark can settle the score. "
Dick's candid response stunned the other two vigilantes.
"It's not... "
"We're not-"
Dick cut them both off with a wave of his hand:
"If there was nothing, you'd stay here at night, Clark. So we'll give you two some time!
They closed the trunk. Clark looked up before walking away. "
"I'll call Krypto. He'll follow you. "
They didn't hear him yell or whistle, but when he turned back to them, it seemed to be done. They all said goodbye, before the boys left with Alfred. Krypto arrived just as the car was starting. Clark gave him instructions in Kryptonian, then the dog rose into the air again. A minute later, the car had passed through the main gate of the Wayne estate.
Bruce and Clark looked at each other, now alone.
"I think I'll go see if... uh... if phase one is done on my end," Clark stammered, running a hand through his hair.
Bruce nodded.
"Yes, I'll do that too. "
They were silent for a moment, and no one moved. Bruce knew Clark was lying, and Clark knew Bruce was lying.
"In fact, I did everything last night and tonight," Clark finally admitted.
Bruce sighed.
"So did I. And we can't begin to prepare for phase two. "
They looked at each other, still silent.
Something new had come up while they were at the Fortress. Hawkman and Atom had hypothesized that the hideout of this new League should not be in a random location, it had to be protected. Ray, studying the data they had been able to get lately on the activities of Cadmus, Quintum Ind and also in relation to the clone, had submitted the idea that they could be hidden by alien technology.
When Ray had spoken about it to the Kryptonian, this last suspected that it was rather probable. Then with the help of Ted, they had launched out in a rather chimerical search. They didn't know what it would lead to, but Clark had confidence in their abilities.
Clark had drawn up a plan the day before, explaining what he wanted to do. His plan had several steps, the first of which was to spread the word that Superman would be back and that he had his clone: he had been cautious in attacking Quintum Industries, and no enemy had really seen him to confirm his identity, except for Bizarro. But according to Jason, who obviously got along well with him, Bizarro had left the team as soon as the clone was discovered. This was based on the reliability of his claims and the fact that Clark always hid when facing other enemies.
With these rumors out in the open, the enemy could have no doubt. The second step would be to reveal the new location of the Fortress, which of course would be a copy of Zatanna. And if with that, Brainiac did not reveal himself with others, the rest of the program would be much more offensive.
Bruce snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Clark, still embarrassed. Both of them had tried to duck, and their excuse wasn't the best one they'd chosen.
"That's... "
"Awkward," Bruce finished.
Clark pouted, then followed the Bat as he stepped inside the mansion.
"Why did you let Krypto go with them?" Bruce asked suddenly as he stopped in the hallway.
The Kryptonian shrugged.
"Conner asked for him to come along. "
If Clark had thought he was going to fool him by feigning innocence, he was up to his elbows in it. He gave him an accusing look.
"Would you let your Kryptonian dog, who protects your mother, go off with your clone just because he asked you to? "
Clark ran a hand through his hair, unable to hide a guilty smile.
"Do I get a Joker card for not answering? "
Bruce made the connection in a second. It knocked the wind out of him almost instantly.
"The key! You gave the key to Krypto! "
Clark held up his hands:
"I didn't give it to him, I asked him to protect it ! I knew you'd freak out if I told you ! "
"Freak out ?! For God's sake Clark, this is the entire Kryptonian legacy! And you're leaving a major weakness by giving that key to a dog! "
"Krypto isn't just any dog, and he's also a Guardian of the Fortress! "
Bruce pinched the bridge of his nose to force himself to keep his voice down.
"Tell me that dog you just sent to Mount Justice, under protection, has the key on him. "
The Kryptonian chose not to answer and gave a tight smile. Bruce thought he was going to kill Clark.
"At least tell me you know what he did with it. "
Clark hesitated before answering.
"I can tell you that he did his job... "
"Damn it, Clark! How could you be so naive, so thoughtless, so reckless! Trusting the key to a dog! The key to our last refuge! "
When he saw Clark smile, Bruce's eyes revealed his utter fury. The dark-haired man held up his hand in front of him and began to list as he spoke:
"First, Krypto is a Kryptonian dog. Second, my dog was guarding the place long before me. Third, I'm in charge of the Fortress, I know how to guard it. Krypto is an alien animal. Getting the location of the key from his brain is impossible. Fourth, I could have locked the key in the Fortress itself, but if anything went wrong it would be doomed. And finally, why are you so upset about this? "
Bruce took a while to answer. First, to calm down, and second, because he didn't really know why he was so upset about it. Maybe because it was a cradle of knowledge. Or because it was a place of refuge for them. He let out through his teeth:
"You can be so oblivious sometimes. "
Clark moved closer to him, still wearing his damn smile.
"I know. And you're so sweet. "
He glared at him again:
"Batman is not sweet ! "
Clark moved closer to Bruce, who stood his ground. The Kryptonian's eyes had changed. So had the way he moved.
"You're not Batman now. You're Bruce Wayne. And you're totally sweet when you get all angry like that. "
Clark's voice was so soft that it made Bruce shiver rather than get even more upset. He closed his eyes as Clark came over and placed a light kiss on his neck, then another, and another.
This awakened Bruce's desire. He'd wanted Clark's body for too long. Then Clark stepped back and turned his head, his face red as if embarrassed.
"You really have a way of making me lose my temper. "
Bruce didn't like the fact that he stopped.
"Not obviously enough," he said bitterly. "You don't want to do this with me anymore? "
He knew it wasn't true, but he wanted to provoke a reaction. Which he succeeded in doing. Clark turned his head back to him, looking incredulous.
"What? No, not at all ! "
"So what's holding you back ? "
Clark turned red again and turned his head away. Then the Kryptonian took a deep breath and when he looked at him again, the red was gone. But his eyes were dark.
"I'm... I'm afraid I'm losing it. I want you, Bruce. I never stopped wanting you, even after Cadmus. If you only knew how angry I was at myself, for not being able to hate you, for continuing to think of you when you betrayed me... I lived it that way. This anger, this pain, I'm afraid I can't keep it to myself. I don't want it to be like that. "
As always, Clark stored up too much and only released on rare occasions. The rest of the time, he just took it. He could act on that.
"Stop taking it easy on me. "
If he was a way for Clark to let go, then he wasn't going to mind if he did. He joined Clark and kissed him full on the lips, shoving his tongue against the Kryptonian lips. Clark couldn't hold back the moan that escaped his lips as his hands went to Bruce's hips. The latter broke away from him to catch his breath.
"And I'm not a monk. "
Clark grinned, a smile that spoke volumes in the face of Bruce's seriousness. Bruce was determined to get what he wanted, and he knew he'd get it soon. Although Clark was trying to maintain control, he felt that the line was very close.
He got his confirmation when Clark came to capture his lips again, gripping his hips more firmly as Bruce let his hands get lost in the brown curls. It was good. Way too good. Somewhere in the back of his mind, Bruce thought to himself that he had never wanted someone so much and in such a way. He'd never behaved like this, whether with Rachel or Selina.
Their kisses were hurried, noisy, wet. Their blood was becoming a living fire in their veins, swelling their sexes to the extreme. Clark then pushed Bruce back against the wall, his hands pulling at his shirt as his mouth left his lips to return to the Bat's neck.
The sigh of satisfaction that Bruce inadvertently let out made Clark smile as he went into his stride. The billionaire grabbed him by the collar and began unbuttoning his shirt, inwardly exasperated that the Kryptonian had closed the garment all the way up. He was even more exasperated when he opened the flaps to reveal a T-shirt.
He then met Clark's eyes. So dark, so deep, that electric blue coming out with intensity. He kissed Clark again and tugged on a sleeve to remove the garment. Clark did the same and this time he was careful not to damage it. Once that was done, Bruce moved on to the shirt. He wanted to feel Clark's skin against his own, the warmth that the Kryptonian radiated at all times.
Clark was in such a hurry that he had no qualms about his own clothing. Bruce grabbed him by the shoulders and slammed him against the wall, pressing his whole body against the Kryptonian. The latter let out a slight moan as their erections pressed against each other.
"Bruce... "
Clark's voice was so deep, so vibrant. It excited Bruce even more, and he pressed his pelvis against him as he pressed the back of his neck with one hand and unzipped his fly with the other. He let go of his neck as he released the man of steel's erection and Clark tipped his head back.
Bruce then slid his hand along his sex, with slow movements. Very slow. He wanted to keep Clark languishing, to build up his excitement until he, too, finally broke down and let go. But now he was watching him enjoy himself. As he accelerated his movements, he saw his breathing become shorter, his skin redden, his face conquered by pleasure. That image, Clark's firm, wet sex in his hand, turned him on more than anything. Much more than he thought it would.
Suddenly, as if Clark had picked up on his thoughts, he reached for his pants, but he pulled Bruce completely out of his clothes, pulling them down over his thighs. He then grabbed one of Bruce's buttocks and began massaging it, and at the same time attacked his penis.
The Bat was so surprised by the pressure on his sex and the rush of pleasure that he stopped his movements. Clark kissed him with an uncontained ardor, then slid his lips down his cheek, then to his ear.
"If you only knew how much I hate you, Bruce... I hate you so much. "
Bruce felt a twinge of pain, and then let out a short moan as the pressure on his sex increased. It felt so good that he closed his eyes, ordering his thoughts to respond to Clark while burying his guilt inside him.
"I...know. "
He was about to cum. He was going to cum. The indecent sound of what Clark was doing was turning him on so much, as was the Kryptonian's own excitement. Bruce leaned against Clark, forcing himself to hold on as long as possible. But the Kryptonian let go. This brought Bruce back to Earth very quickly, and he glared at the Kryptonian as he took a firm hold of his sex:
"Don't you dare stop there, Kal. "
The Kryptonian's glare and subsequent growl made Bruce realize that he had been mistaken about his intentions.
Clark grabbed him and slammed him hard into the ground, making Bruce wince with the impact. The tongue on his sex soon made him forget about it, although it didn't stay for long. Clark grabbed his things firmly and with an expert motion pulled all his clothes down to his ankles and removed his shoes at the same time. A few seconds later, Bruce was naked on the floor of his hallway, soon joined by an overexcited Kryptonian.
The Man of Steel reached between his legs, took his sex in his hand and began to work hard. It was only for a short time. The next moment Clark was licking his wet glans and one of his fingers was thrusting inside him. Bruce was unable to hold back a moan of pleasure. Nor were the others that followed.
Clark sucked him hungrily as a second finger widened him a little more and titillated his prostate.
"Kal... "
His name was almost held in his throat. He was going to cum. He had to tell Clark. And yet, he was unable to get his hands out of his hair. He didn't even know when his fingers had grabbed onto the brown curls.
He felt a third finger enter him and for a brief moment felt discomfort, which was soon forgotten. The pleasure was too powerful. He could feel Clark's mouth pressing on his penis as he was about to cum. He was going to come now.
"Kal! "
Bruce's voice went high as he came at the very moment he said his name. His orgasm was so strong that Bruce's whole body tensed for a moment before shuddering, shaken by the pleasure and the fact that Clark was still sucking him off with the same fervor.
His head was spinning. A lot. He stared for a moment at the chandelier above him, which was spinning a little too much for his taste. Then he heard a sucking sound and felt the pressure on his sex recede. Clark came back to him and leaned on one arm to stay above him. Bruce could feel his floor mat sticking to his sweaty skin and he was having trouble getting his breath back, as was his mind.
"Don't ever do that again, Bruce. Don't lie to me again. Never. Again. "
The seriousness in his voice brought Bruce back. It had sounded like a threat. But he sensed Clark's need for reassurance behind it. He could feel his distress.
"I promise, Kal. "
It was as if he were giving a signal. Clark's fingers, still inside him, moved again and Bruce arched his back in pleasure. Then he withdrew his fingers. The next moment, he was thrusting into him.
They both groaned with pleasure. Bruce arched his back under the Kryptonian, who had closed his eyes as his partner's muscles tightened the pressure on his sex. Bruce didn't think he could feel pleasure again. He clutched Clark's torso as Clark began to move back and forth. He was slow only to let Bruce adjust to him.
When he was ready, Clark let himself go. He really did. He fucked Bruce, because it couldn't have been on any other terms. Straightening up, lifting his hips, the Kryptonian pounded him hard, his sex slapping against Bruce's erogenous point every time, whose sex had automatically straightened. Bruce had never experienced this. He thought the pleasure would finish him off. Clark was brutal on purpose, he knew that. It was his way of letting him know how he felt. His way of releasing his frustration, his anger, his desire.
Bruce let Clark do it when he changed the angle to penetrate him even more deeply. It was even gruffer, even more intense. Clark let out a great sigh of pleasure as he ejaculated inside Bruce, remaining on his knees supporting his lover's legs before withdrawing from him, then lying beside him on the floor.
They remained a moment silent, seeking to recover their breath. Bruce had taken an enormous pleasure. Definitely the best of his life. And it was taking him completely out of the game. So much so that when he closed his eyes, he almost drifted off to sleep. Only Clark's light kisses on his chest kept him somewhat present.
"I wanted you so much..." he said between kisses.
Bruce grinned but kept his eyes closed.
"I felt it," he said in a pasty voice.
He didn't see Clark squint at him, but he felt him lift his head and look at him:
"You didn't mind, anyway. "
Bruce kept smiling at Clark's statement. Damn Kryptonian senses.
"Not at all," he admitted.
And Clark placed a quick kiss on his lips, before returning to his chest, continuing his light kisses on his skin. He wasn't really used to receiving such special affection, usually rejecting affectionate gestures. But here, he appreciated them. If Clark kept this up, he would definitely fall asleep. But the Kryptonian stopped. He heard him sit up and Bruce forced his eyes open.
Clark's eyes were sublime. That blue so bright, and that brilliant gleam he found in his eyes. His longer curls fell back over his face and that smile tracing through his thin beard made him really attractive.
"I love you, Bruce. So much. "
He snapped out of his contemplation and felt every muscle in his body stiffen. He hadn't expected to hear that again. Not with such emotion in Clark's voice. He kept his smile despite his reaction when Clark resumed:
"I know you're reserved, that you don't like gestures of affection, that you don't reveal yourself much. But if we're serious about each other, then you'll have to make an effort. "
Bruce straightened up a little, now serious in his turn.
"Our relationship is our own business," he said firmly.
Clark smiled and placed a kiss on his forehead. Bruce reflected that he didn't like the way they were going.
"I know you're not ready for us to show ourselves in front of others. But what I'm asking is that when we're together, you don't reject me when I show myself emotionally, even when it's not sex. "
Bruce took a moment to think before answering. It was certain he didn't want to reveal the nature of his relationship with Clark. He knew that those around him were certain of his feelings for the Kryptonian. But that didn't mean he was willing to show it either. Out of modesty, probably. Or because he had to come to terms with the fact that he had screwed up a lot of the rules he had set for himself. He took a deep breath. In private, he didn't have a problem with it. Because he liked it. He nodded:
"Okay. As long as it doesn't interfere with our work. "
And by work, he meant their role as vigilantes. Clark smiled broadly at him and Bruce's heart skipped a beat.
"It's a deal. "
Clark melted onto his lips and embraced him. They exchanged a tender kiss, Clark repositioning himself over Bruce again. Their closeness and nakedness aroused their sexes strongly. Again turn on, Bruce forced himself to break Clark's caresses and their kiss.
"Kal. We can't spend all day doing this. Not right now. "
Reason had crept into his mind just in time. Clark pouted, but he pulled back and let himself fall back in beside him.
"You're right... Rah! Damn it! "
Bruce could clearly hear his frustration. He smiled slightly, totally in agreement with his reaction. Then he decided it was time to move. If he didn't, he wouldn't do it all day.
"I'm going to take a shower. Will you come with me? "
Clark got that look again: a fiery look that spoke volumes.
"If you want a normal shower, you'd better not. "
Bruce really hesitated between listening to his desire or his reason. But his reason had the last word on his desires.
"Some other time then. "
Clark placed a kiss on his lips and gathered their clothes. In that moment, Bruce didn't miss a beat.
Clark glanced at the various screens and quickly abandoned those with lines of code he didn't even understand. He then turned his attention to a screen that showed a map of the world, with many bright dots appearing as the minutes passed.
"You seem to have a result though", he commented.
Ted Kord sighed and it was Michael Carter, aka Booster Gold, who replied:
"That's because you didn't zoom in... "
Clark tapped a red dot on the screen, which zoomed in on the area and divided the large red dot he had selected into a multitude of smaller and larger dots. It almost colored the area red.
"Oh, yes indeed, it's not really set. "
"Or maybe there are thousands of alien ships in California. "
Which was a more than unlikely thing, or S.H.A.D.E. and the Green Lanterns weren't doing their job right.
"We think we must have detected the alien objects too. Or there's something else interfering. Anyway, we're totally stumped. "
Ray leaned back in his chair. The three men were completely exhausted. Clark pointed out to them:
"You guys need a break. Forget it, we'll figure something else out. "
The three men nodded. Clark then noticed the much more upset look on Michael's face, which he hadn't seen in a while.
"Are you sure you're okay?" he asked as they left the room.
The blond man nodded.
"Yeah, it's just that sometimes I realize the technological chasm between this time and my own."
Clark smiled slightly and beside him, Ted and Ray laughed.
"Rip said the same thing the last time we saw him. Dogs don't make cats!" Ray replied, still laughing.
Michael sighed.
"Besides, he left with Skeets. "
Ted acted offended as Michael complained about his little robot partner's absence.
"Hey! I'm here! "
"Yes, I know, but maybe Skeets could have helped us if dear Rip Hunter hadn't left to explore a new era. "
At Booster's irritated look, Clark suspected there was more to it.
"He's a time traveler, so it's only natural he'd leave again," Ray added.
"I know, but we barely have time to talk, the two of us. "
They stopped for coffee and sat down at one of the many tables in the common room.
"Maybe he's meeting you at other times," Clark said.
Booster laughed.
"Yeah, we're not normally supposed to tell each other what we're doing, but he told me I tracked him down once and he didn't know it was me, so he hid in Kandor! Well, I must have had a good reason to look for him, as long as it wasn't to kill him... "
Michael laughed and Ray added:
"Yeah, well, I can't imagine what kind of father would kill his son. I mean, I guess anything can happen with that kind of life. "
Clark frowned, his brain having paused for a moment:
"What do you mean he was in Kandor? "
The three men laughed as Clark's face flashed with panic, wondering if Kryptonian security would not be easily hacked in the twenty-fifth century. He already knew that later on, the Phantom Zone would be used as a prison for many powerful monsters and enemies, but he didn't think that he would leave everything available to everyone. Booster was about to answer him when Barry, Niles and J'onn came up to them.
"We're done with the equipment," Barry said as he stuffed his face with cereal bars.
"If you want to try on your outfits, they're available in the armory," said Niles, "Especially to Booster and Palmer. "
Both of them stood up in delight.
"You guys are amazing, thanks! "
Barry shrugged.
"You gave us the blueprints, it goes much faster that way. Will Magnus is in the room with Steel. "
The two men left and J'onn and Barry took their places. Niles moved his wheelchair over to them.
"Is everyone ready? "
Clark nodded.
"As ready as we can be, I guess. The hardest part is getting them all there. "
Niles took a sip of his coffee, deep in thought.
"Do you think the Fortress and the clone will be enough? "
"If it's not Luthor or Brainiac leading this team, I don't know who it could be. We're giving them both a reason to show up. "
"And it couldn't be the Joker? "
"The Joker is not fit to lead a team. He's way too messy and unbalanced," J'onn replied.
Clark nodded his head in agreement:
"And there's a good chance he got kicked off the team. But I wonder if I shouldn't have let Bruce make the plan. "
Barry shrugged and Clark noticed he was now eating chips.
"You know, he have to delegate. Besides, he's a little less popular right now. "
The Kryptonian knew very well why. It bothered him a lot.
"Don't blame Bruce. What happened is his and my business. I know you don't mean any harm, but it can ruin our group dynamic. We're getting along fine again and we all need to stick together. "
Ted looked at Clark with his brown eyes.
"I don't know how you get over it. But if you're okay with it, then so are we. "
Clark grinned at him. He'd always thought of Ted as the cream of the crop, personality-wise.
"I got his explanation and also his apology. From him, I think that's pretty good. "
Barry laughed, his mouth full. He swallowed before replying:
"Waow, Batman apologizing! Guys, I'm calling a star storm on the Watchtower in a few minutes! "
Everyone laughed, even Niles and J'onn. When they calmed down, Clark resumed in a slightly more serious tone.
"Well, keep your wits about you. You never know how things will turn out. "
The small group nodded.
"I'll leave you to it," J'onn said. "I'm going to head to Mount Justice. We still have the rotations to plan. "
Clark nodded and was once again grateful that he was in charge.
"Thank you, J'onn. I'll leave you too. See you later. "
They waved and parted ways. Clark had one more thing to see before returning to the Cave and after that, he too would be ready for war.

Booster Gold : aka Michael Carter, He is a loser of the 25th century, who decided to "remake" himself a glorious life in the 20th century, in the time of the heroes. He stole high-tech equipment from his time and thanks to that, he was able to travel through time. It turns out that the time travel equipment he stole belonged to Rip Hunter, another DC superhero. And incidentally, Michael's son. He would only find out years later, after the two of them had traveled back and forth in time. His best friend is Ted Kord, aka Blue Beetle.
Skeets : It's a security robot that Booster stole with the high-tech equipment of his century. He very like it.
Will Magnus : He is a genius with various doctorates in engineering, math, mechanics,... he is especially the inventor of the superheroes "Metal Men" composed of Gold, Iron, Lead, Tin, Mercury and Platinum
Nota Bene : The story about Rip and Booster that was mentionned was in comics.
