Chapter Five:

The Malfoy Family: Santimonia Vincet Semper

Corvinus awoke early on the morning of November first for his lessons with his Godfather. By the time Lunch time had arrived, he was done with his lessons for the day, since the Malfoy family would be coming over to discuss the details of the familial alliance. Corvinus was so excited that Sylzaira had hissed at him multiple times in irritation for the amount of energy he expelled.

For the last time, calm down snakeling! She hissed annoyed by Corvinus and his amount of energy.

Sylzaira was annoyed with how her peace is being interrupted by Corvinus. She was easily irritated by stress and chaos, and right now Corvinus' energy was chaotic. It was driving her up a bloody wall!

But Sylzaira! Draco is coming over and I'm just too excited!exclaimed Corvinus impatiently.

I understand that snakeling. I'm going to go hunt. Hopefully you'll be calm upon my return. she hissed, and rubbed against Corvinus and left the Manor through the flap they had installed for her.

Corvinus sighed. ' I'll apologize to later…'he thought in forlorn.

He walked to the entrance floo in the receiving hall as it was about time for the Malfoy Family to arrive. The rest of the family waited as well as it was rude to not receive a guest in the wizarding world. Corvinus heard the fire of the floo come to life, and out walked the first member of the Malloy family, Lucius Malfoy. Sirius approached him and they clasped hands, "Lucius! Welcome to Black Manor!" Barked the Lord Black.

"A pleasure." He responded in kind.

The floo came to life a second time, and out walked Narcissa Malfoy née Black. She looked around the receiving hall and saw that Sirius had made many changes to the Manor. It looked far less dreary and the room was filled with light from the tall windows surrounding the floo, "I love what you've done with the manor, Sirius," she said politely.

Sirius smiled politely, "Thank you, cousin."

Then the floo came to Life one last time, and out walked Draco Malfoy, the youngest and heir to the Malfoy family. Corvinus smiled politely, "Greetings Draco, and welcome to Black Manor," Corvinus greeted the youngest Malfoy.

They heard a pop and the house elf said politely to the houses guests, "Tinky is needing your coats, masters and mistress."

The Malfoy's handed their coats and cloaks to the house elf, and followed Sirius into the drawing room to converse while they waited for Lunch to be served. While they were conversing, Sylzaira slithered in after her hunt, belly filled with whatever animal she found to eat. Corvinus noticed, and hissed at Sylzaira, How was your hunt Sylzaira?

The Malfoys all stopped to listen to Corvinus speak in Parsletongue to his snake companion. I feel very full, thank you for asking my snakeling. Sylzaira was content.

Then Sylzaira slithered into Corvinus' lap and curled around him. "This is Sylzaira, everyone. She's been with me since I was a baby," Corvinus introduced.

Say hello to our guests, love. Corvinus hissed.

Why? They can't understand me. Sylzaira pointed out.

Corvinus chuckled at Sylzaira's sass. Lord Malfoy cleared his throat. "So you're a Slytherin heir, Corvinus?" he asked.

"Yes, he is," replied Sirius, "And an heir of Ravenclaw."

"We have creature inheritance," replied Lucius, "We are part Veela."

"As my mate is a werewolf, my inheritance never came into fruition. But the Black's are part dark elves," Sirius replied back, "But Corvinus' inheritance will be very powerful. He is also heir to the house Le Fey."

To that, Lucius did something very out of character, his mouth dropped open and shock was written all over his face, "Arthurian Le Fey?!" he exclaimed inquisitively.

"Yes," replied Sirius with pride, "The very same. Merlin's conquest. It was said an heir of Slytherin married a Le Fey. His mother came from a Morningstar squib line. Her parents were very proud when she received her Hogwarts letter."

"How come we've never met her?" Lucius asked.

"She past away, while Corvinus was a baby. Severus and her were very old friends from childhood."

"I see. Well that is very unfortunate. It would have been a pleasure to meet such a powerful witch," Lucius mused, "Just makes me wonder who she was."

"We would have to swear you to secrecy to let you know that kind of information. If you are willing to swear on your magic, we will gladly tell you who she was."

Lucius knew that meant he wasn't quite trusted, so he did as asked. "I, Lucius Abraxas Malfoy, swear on my magic to never disclose any information Sirius Orion Black tells me unless given expressed permission to do so," with a glow, the promise was made and Lucius felt it settle into his magical core.

"Very well then. Narcissa, I trust you, because Luke all Black's you believe family is everything. And Draco, you are never to reveal this information either. So Corvinus, will you do the honors? It is your secret to tell."

Corvinus paused from his conversation with Sylzaira, "My mother was Lily Potter," Corvinus matter-of-factly stated.

"What?! But that would mean you're Harry Potter?!" Lucius exclaimed in shock.

"The very same," Sirius nodded, "But that was never his real name. James was actually sterile and couldn't have children. The marriage was all a sham anyway. It was only to protect Lily and her unborn child, Corvinus. Lily and Severus were in a relationship for a while before her passing. Severus was having Dumbledore protect her, which he failed at doing so."

"Did I catch a hint of anger?" Lucius asked.

"Oh very much so. Lily was very much my friend as she was James' and Severus'. I was originally the secret keeper, but I made the mistake of having that switched to Peter Pettigrew who betrayed us. I did not know he was a Death Eater, you see. And while we're on the subject, where do your loyalties truly lie, Lucius?" Sirius asked while he rested his hand on his chin as he analyzed Lucius Malfoy, a former Death Eater.

"With my family," Lucius explained, "My father, the late Abraxas Malfoy, forced me to follow that egotistical maniac. And it was my biggest mistake. I felt I put my family in danger by following that madman."

"You very much so did. I'm sure it was out of fear since he slaughtered so many witches and wizards," replied Sirius.

Soon their discussion led to the alliance, "We would like to become familial allies. Also, we would like to arrange a marriage contract between our son, Draco, and your Godson, Corvinus," explained Narcissa.

"That would be wise. They are compatible. Soulmates. I wouldn't want to keep them apart," Sirius murmured softly while he watched Corvinus interact with Draco in fondness.

He could tell by the way his Godson was acting, that he really liked Draco. It wasn't his job to keep them apart, he chose. Sirius cleared his throat and nodded in agreement, "Okay. Lucius we will go over the contract and once satisfied with it, I will sign it," Sirius explained, "I know you have plenty of experience in legal matters. And both our heirs would make quite the powerful pair."

As soon as they were finished with their discussion, they left the boys to spend some time with each other. Later, lunch was served. Kreacher turned out to be quite the chef. He had made succulent chicken and roasted red pepper roll ups, delicious mouth watering seared scallops and baby spinach with a spiced pomegranate glaze, beef steaks wellington with macaroni and brie with crab, and for dessert he made a dark chocolate tart with caramel drizzle. It was quite an experience and both families enjoyed it immensely.

After lunch, Corvinus and Draco went down to the quidditch pitch and played a round seeking the golden snitch. Corvinus flew so gracefully and enjoyed the wind going through his jet black curls. Unlike his father, Severus, Corvinus' hair wasn't greasy. But then again Severus used the grease to keep his hair in place and to make sure none of his hair interfered with the Potions he brewed.

After playing quidditch, they went inside and had tea with their families, who were still chatting away. Neither particularly cared for the conversation the adults were having. So they conversed amongst themselves. Draco seemed to be enamored with Corvinus. He was asking and talking to him about everything and anything under the sun. "What position do you think you'd play for quidditch?" Draco asked.

Corvinus looked introspectively at Draco, "Most likely a seeker. It's the position I'm best at. What about you?"

"Although father would want me to be a seeker, I'm actually a better chaser," replied Draco.

"If you went to Hogwarts, what house do you think you'd be in?" Draco asked hypothetically.

"Probably Slytherin like father. Helps that I'm a parslemouth as well," replied Corvinus as he stroked Sylzaira's holographic like dark scales.

"I know I'm going to be in Slytherin, to be honest. My whole family has always been in Slytherin," Draco agreed.

Soon, it began to be time for the two families to part ways. The elders shook hands and Draco and Corvinus hugged. They were beginning to get close with one another, "Promise me you'll write?" asked Draco.

"Of course! As often as you'd like!" agreed Corvinus, "This isn't goodbye. We'll see each other again over holiday."

"I'll write everyday, and I can't wait to see you again," replied Draco.

They hugged one last time, then after the Malfoy family called out "Malfoy Manor!" and they were gone.
