Chapter Two. Fighting Against the Death Eater and Meeting Barnabas Collins.

Walking down the long driveway to Collinwood in a wooded area, Amethyst can tell that she was being followed and she was no fool at that. She looked around her surroundings and she knew that she was near one of the houses in the area. Waters took out her wand from her shirt sleeve on her left side. Her pet bat was clinging tightly to her while he was screeching with worry for his owner. Animals could sense anxiety from any person.

Her bat climbed out of her jacket by his claws on his feet and wings. Amethyst looked down at her pet. "Okay, Barnabas, go and hide please or you can go get help at a near by house." She told her pet. Her bat screeched with worry and he rubbed his head against Waters' chin before he flew off to get help towards a certain direction to one of the houses near by in the woods. Amethyst sighed deeply and she pointed her wand towards a house in the woods. "Expecto Patronum!" She said with determination.

A light blue and white glow was flowing out of Waters' wand and her Patronus was an arctic fox. Amethyst had to hurry and send her message to someone near by before danger pursues. She looked at her Patronus and she sighed. "Send this message to a near by house in this very area." Amethyst said as her Patronus looked at her, walking a few steps towards her and waiting for her to give this message. "Tell someone that I need help. Someone is after me and going to kill me. Please help me. Now send the message now please." She said the message.

Her Patronus slowly nodded to her before it ran off into the woods. Waters looked in that direction and then she ran off into the woods, towards a house where her bat and her Patronus were going as far as her legs would take her. Amethyst held tightly to her wand while running, preparing for the worst case scenario. The moon was shining out there this night.

A moment later, Amethyst stopped in her tracks when she heard the crack of apparation. She turned around and she saw a tall figure, wearing Death Eater robes. The man glared murderously and he gave her an evil wicked smile. "Hello, Mudblood." He said menacingly. Waters looked at him with wide eyes, but she stood at a duel stance with her wand pointed at him at the ready and the Death Eater had his wand pointed at her at the ready as well.

Mean while at the old house, Willie Loomis was out side, working around to get things done and 'the' Barnabas Collins was in the living room, slowly walking back and forth, planning to get his next victim. Then, right out of the blue, he heard tapping on the window. Barnabas walked and he saw a giant bat the air. Barnabas' eyes widened as to why the bat was there. "Go away you foul creature and why are you here?" He said. He thought he was going to be attacked by a bat once again at first.

The bat screeched with worry and he turned his head towards the direction to where his owner was at. Barnabas heard the was the bat screeched. He knew that something was wrong. The bat kept looking in between Barnabas and the direction of where his owner was. The vampire walked over to his coat rack by the door before he put on his cape and his wolf's head cane and he walked out of the door.

As soon he walked out of the door, Barnabas saw the bat flew off towards where his owner was at and the vampire saw a glowing animal of an arctic fox that he had never seen before in his whole life. It was a woman's voice as it gave him the message that she needed help. Barnabas was just about to ask some questions when the Patronus rushed off towards the woods where she was at. The way the Patronus said the message to him, Barnabas knew that something was definitely wrong and he rushed off into that direction.

Further into the woods, Amethyst and the Death Eater pointed wands at each other. "Well, well, well. What do I have here? A Mudblood." He said with a sneer and an evil smile at her. "Now, time to die Mudblood!" He growled at her when he preparing to kill her.

Amethyst Waters glared at the Death Eater and she shook her head. "I won't let you win you bastard!" She said to him firmly. And then, the man said, 'Avada Kedavera' at the same time Amethyst said, 'Expelliarmus.' The spells from the wands collided and clashed between the evil and the light sides.

In the woods, the bat showed Barnabas the way. The vampire furrowed his eyebrows in curiosity and confusion when he saw some bright lights from something that he had never seen before and he also heard shouting voices coming from ahead of him. The bat flew onto one of the trees and he stayed there and waited for his owner fight off the evil man. Barnabas then realized that there were two people, who were fighting. But who was going to win this fight?

When he got to one of the trees Barnabas stood behind it as he watched in surprise and amazement. The vampire looked towards his right and he eyed the woman, who was fighting her evil opponent. 'Who is this woman with such magic as this? I have to help her.' Barnabas thought to himself before he looked towards his left and he eyed the evil man, who was trying to kill this woman. The vampire then realized that this woman was a witch of some kind and he was now being drawn to this woman for some reason. He needed to help her and he would.

Barnabas clearly saw the evil man's hand slipped into his robe pockets and he slowly took out another wand. The vampire needed to do something and quickly. Amethyst saw this and her eyes widened like saucers when she then screamed when she saw another man right behind the Death Eater, who never noticed and Barnabas lifted his arms and hands, ready to strangle the evil man. In darkness still, from the light form the spells clashing from their wands, Waters saw a tall man with dark brown hair and he bared his fangs towards him.

Amethyst was in between Shocked and relieved that she was about to be saved by this vampire. This man to Waters reminds her of a very good friend of hers, who was a vampire when she was a student at Hogwarts all up until he was killed by Voldemort when the Dark Lord tried to get him to fight for the bad side and he refused and that was how the young vampire was killed by choosing the light side. She was grieving for her friend then. Albus and Minerva were there for her.

Suddenly, the Death Eater screamed and the clashing spells dimmed when Waters watched on as the vampire wrapped his hands around the man's neck, strangling him. Amethyst also saw his fangs bared and he sank his fangs in the Death Eater's neck. The man winced in pain and he screamed in pain. Waters breathed heavily and she pointed her wand towards the man in front of the vampire. "Accio wands!" She waved her wand. The man's screams were silenced. Barnabas looked up and he watched in fascination as when the two wands flew right into her hand. She took a deep breath. "Lumos Maxima!" Amethyst waved her wand and the light brightened on the tip of her wand.

Barnabas could tell that this woman knew of what he was, so he decided to dispose of her. He didn't want anyone to know of his secret. Amethyst sensed this when she saw the look on the vampire's face. She lifted her wand, so she would bright the light to him when he came close enough. He was about a foot away from his face. Waters knew what he was about to do. He gave her a long look and he bared his fangs, In which it had a bit of blood on them and some on his lips. He licked his lips to take the blood off before he spoke. "Who are you and how do you know of what I am before I will kill you." Barnabas said dangerously calm, but menacing. He read her mind and he could feel and hear her heart pounding through her chest. She hoped that he would believe her.

Amethyst knew what he was thinking. She could feel her heart was rapidly beating. She does not want to die by his hands. She looked at him and she saw the murderous look in his eyes. "I need to tell you something before you kill me, sir." Waters paused for a moment. She sighed deeply. "And you need to know of who and what I am and where I came from." She said to him. Barnabas looked at her with stun and surprise. The vampire waited patiently for her to speak more. He needed to know about her. "You saw my magic from my wand. And I am not that kind of witch than you think I am." At her words, Barnabas' eyebrows furrowed and he stared at her with curiosity. "When I was at a school in Britain, I had a good friend and he was a vampire like yourself." She said to him. Barnabas looked at her with sympathy.

Barnabas then decided not to kill her after all. The vampire some how knew of what had happened to her friend. So, Waters went on. "I'm originally from northern Maine. My parents and I moved to London because of my father's job." She paused for a moment. "You won't believe me when I tell you that I'm a Muggle born witch." Barnabas looked at her with interest and surprised. He didn't know what a Muggle was, so she explained it to him of what Muggles are and he was pretty interested in this indeed. Then, she told him what had happened to her friend. "My friend, Richard was killed by an evil man named, Voldemort and he is a wizard." She remembered him as a vampire and a friend when she was a student at Hogwarts. "Richard died defending the light side of the wizarding world." Amethyst told him. "When Voldemort tried to force him to join to become his follower, he refused and that's how he killed him." She said with a bit of emotion.

Barnabas warmly smiled at her as he placed his hand on her lower back. She looked up at the trees and she heard a screech and she smiled. Her bat was all right and her pet flew down from one of the trees and landed on to her and clung to her. "Hey there, little guy." She said as she gently petted her bat's head. Barnabas watched on with adoration as the bat screeched in affectionate response. Barnabas then told her where the old house was and they began walking towards Barnabas' house. Amethyst looked up at Barnabas. "Um, sir, I do not know what your name is. If you don't mind me asking." She said in hoping to know.

The vampire looked down at her as he guided her through the woods. He chuckled. "It seems to me that we have something in common, madame." He told her. Amethyst told him that she does. "My name is Barnabas Collins." He said to her. Waters stared at him with interest. She smiled at him warmly. "And what is your name by the way, madame and do you have any family here?" He asked her and he never saw this coming.

Amethyst looked up at him and she told him. "My name is Amethyst Waters." She said. "The only family I have left is my cousin, Victoria Winters. I have no more family around and they were killed by Voldemort." She told the vampire and this had Barnabas stood on the spot and he was baffled and he did not know that Vicki Winters had a cousin, who happened to be a witch and she smiled at this and she chuckled at the look on his face. "Come on, Mr. Collins, I'll explain all about this and me when we get to your house." Amethyst told him. The vampire found this very interesting. Even when he was baffled.

Barnabas composed himself and he looked at her with determination and interest in her and her magic life. "You know, Miss Waters, my servant, Willie Loomis will not believe this indeed." The vampire told her with a chuckle. Amethyst laughed at this. Waters was pretty sure that Barnabas' servant would not believe of what Mr. Collins was bringing with him and what she was. Amethyst held on to her bat as they walked through the woods. The vampire watched her with being very intrigued as Amethyst held her wand with a bright light at the tip of her wand, lighting the way towards the old house. Barnabas now believes that there are witches and wizards around from Hogwarts. This is very interesting indeed and Barnabas Collins was very drawn to Amethyst every minute of the day. He will get to know her more better soon enough. He hoped to find his Josette and soon. But he had a feeling that Amethyst Waters has already become his next Josette.
