Draco Inquisitionis
Arc 1
Chapter 1
Welcome to my first Dragon Prince Fic
This is the first chapter
I have some attention problems besides little time due to my work and University, so I don't know how much I can update this fic
I also intend to make this Fic an "Open Fic" what do I mean by this? The rules of an open fic are as follows
-Anyone can continue the story from wherever they want
-You must specify who the original autor is and the name of the fic (Giving the username and the name of the fic)
-Should also do "Open Fic"
This is chapter 0 where I will explain some little things about the fic
Also English is like my third language so….sorry about grammar
I don't own Dragon Prince if I do S4 would have been Good
Rayla looks like she did in S4 only just more adult, same cloths and hair style
Rayla was exhausted, 5 years of traveling and living in the wild as she searched for clues to Viren's whereabouts only going into small towns to buy clothes, food and other basic necessities.
Having found no clues as to whether Viren is dead or alive, it felt like 5 years wasted, 5 years without Callum, 5 years without a place to call home, so Rayla was tired, which helped make her blindfold for vengeance diminished, allowing her to see what she had lost, Callum, probably the most important person in her life right now, the person she loved and a person that without him, life was a little grayer, and she almost lost him, or in the worst case scenario has already lost him, all to pursue revenge on a man who she didn't know if he was alive or not.
And now the more she gets closer to the border, the more nervous she feels, what if they didn't love her anymore? What if Callum wasn't in love with her anymore? How about Callum, has he already started a family with another woman? He is already 20 years old, according to what she remembers humans normally get married at the age of 16-18, a part of her wanted to stop and go back to the forest, but if she did she would live with the doubt off all those questions forever and she would rather know the answers to her questions than live with the doubt, although her dreams did not help her much, having constant nightmares of how bad it could turn out, the most recurrent is the one were she came back and Callum had formed a family and in some of her nightmares the woman with whom he formed the family was that Dark Mage…...Camila?….Cassandra?….Calla?….she couldn't remember the name of that Dark Mage friend Callum had, but she did remember that Callum had a crush on her, although she didn't remember her name that didn't prevent her brain from generating a nightmare where Callum went with her and to make matters worse he became a Dark Mage.
With a heavy sigh Rayla left the nearby forest, being close to the Storm Spire she wanted to go through this area quickly, although she stopped shortly after leaving the forest seeing something she did not expect to find in this area, a path, a fairly advanced one, done of fine stone in such a way that floats can easily pass through them without much problem for passengers, to add to their surprise the road was made of Deep Earth Stone a type of stone handmade by Earthblood Elves who live in the depths of the world , to be more precise, the manufacture of this stone was only made by the Earthblood Elf who live in the City of Underterra, seeing examples of architecture of these so close to the territory of Skywing Elf was quite rare, but to add the rarity along the way there was a small group of soldiers moving with a prisoner carriage where there were 3 humans and 2 elves with gray skin
The soldiers wore black plate armor, with gold decorations, whether they were made of gold or just painted gold was something that Rayla did not know, the armor also had decorations and parts of cloth which were red, while the mages who accompanied the soldiers wore white and red outfits with gold decorations, Rayla was able to identify the group as members of the new Order that had been formed, the Inquisition, she was able to achieve this thanks to the symbol that the group carried a " I" with a circle in the middle with six lines coming out of the center circle, three on each side, although Rayla did not know why some of the members had a different symbol within this circle and she did not have time to think about it since the soldiers saw her and they stopped in front of her, one of the men in armor who seemed to be in his 30's came a little closer to Rayla and started talking
"Good morning young elf"
"Good morning….old…soldier?" Rayla replied somewhat uncertain
"AHA! I Walk right into it!"
"Hey…." Rayla continued even more confused
"Well young elf, are you heading to Fortis?"
"Fortis?"
"The fortress city that functions as a base for the Inquisition" The old soldier answered "Few walk this path unless they go to Fortis or return from the city"
"Eh….well, I'm interested in joining, but I want to meet up with a…... friend" Rayla replied "Then I want to convince him to come with me and join too" Which was true since she found out about the missions of the Inquisition one of her plans was to join with Callum
"Oh amazing! Why don't you come with us? So you could use what you see in Fortis to further convince your friend!"
"You sound like a Recruiter"
"Because I am!"
Rayla fell silent, beginning to think about what the man was saying, if she went to Fortis she could look at the library and see what they have in magic, so she could have something to convince Callum, plus she could learn more about the Inquisition, so far she just knows their main quests, Keeping the Peace and Hunting Dark Mages
"I would be delighted to accompany you" answered Rayla with a slight bow
"Very well, I am Inquisitor Drest second in command of this small group" The now called Drest began "On my right side, is Paladin Roos" He continued pointing to the red-haired woman in armor on his right side, Roos looked a lot like Drest so Rayla assumed that they are related in some way. "On my left side is Paladin Volodar." Drest pointed to his left where a Sunfire Elf stood with a massive sword on his back, the elf seemed to be in his 20's, looking like he was taking care of his hair so careful while looking in a portable mirror, making Rayla understand that he was someone who cared quite a lot about his own appearance and the looks he tried to discreetly throw at the only robed man in the group Rayla assumed he likes that person or that they are in some relationship, but Rayla's thoughts were interrupted when Drest continued speaking "Behind me is Inquisitor Ratha part of the Ordo Magus, Knight Adamus of the Ordo Diplomat and Squire Curia also of the Ordo Magus" pointing to three robed individuals behind him, Rayla was able to easily identify them using her deduction skills. She interpreted the middle one to be Ratha, a Skywing elf, she somewhat resembled Ibis but not enough to call her a direct relative like she would with Roos and Drest, on her right side she could deduce who Adamus was considering he was the only man of the three, this was a man in his 20's, blond and with blue eyes and by his way in which he continues to entertainingly and lovingly watch Volodar fix himself Rayla could assume that yes, they are both in some kind of relationship, if it is a romantic one or one of those relationships in the stories where it is obvious that they both like each other but not say it, Rayla couldn't tell, Finally on her left side was someone who surprised her, especially if the Ordo Magus thing is what she thought it was, on Ratha's left side was a human, according to her knowledge of the human kingdoms and from her appearance Rayla could tell that she came from Del Bar, although the name was more common in parts of Katolis or Duren and the fact that she was a possible magician was something quite interesting, so she decided to ask
"Wait if my deduction about what the Ordos Magus is is correct, are there mages in it? So how come there's a human there?"
To this, Curia cheerfully replied "Yes! I'm one of the 10 human magicians out there! The High Inquisitor of the Ordo Magus himself helped me connect with the Sky Arcanum and I am learning about magic from Ratha."
After the introductions the group got ready to move forward, as they walked, Rayla decided to start asking about how the Inquisition worked.
"I have some questions about the Inquisition" Rayla began asking
"Of course, I will do my best to respond," replied Drest with a salesman's smile on his lips.
"So what about Ordos? I assume they are internal branches?"
"You are right young Rayla, the Inquisition is divided into 8 branches or Ordos as we call them, each Ordo has its own symbol that you can see here" replied Drest pointing to the symbol on his shoulder pad "Inside the circle that is in the middle of the symbol of the Inquisition is the symbol of the Ordos to which you belong, mine is a shield indicating that I am part of the Ordo Militaris"
"I see" Rayla replied, moving her head as a sign that she understood the information received.
"The other Ordos are Ordos Magus, formed by magicians, who investigate and study everything related to magic, their symbol is a stylized "P". The Ordos Diplomat, formed to be the diplomatic branch of the Inquisition, its members study politics and diplomacy and are always the first to move when there is a problem, trying to resolve it diplomatically, their symbol is a Hand-shake. The Ordos Oravit, is made up of merchants and they are in charge of keeping the economy of the Inquisition afloat, their symbol is a coin. The Ordos Artifex is made up of Crafters and Gatherers and they are in charge of maintaining the supplies of the Inquisition, from weapons and armor to the food served, their symbol is a crossed X-shaped pickaxe and hammer. The Ordo Fabulae, made up of historians, who travel the world collecting the legends and myths of the world and ensuring that every bookstore and library in the world has at least one copy of each of these stories for the purpose of spreading understanding, its symbol is an open book. The Ordos Animalia, made up of animal trainers and caretakers, are in charge of maintaining the stables and caring and training horses and other animals that some members of the Inquisition use, their symbol is a wolf print, and finally the Ordos Occisor, formed by explorers, Scouts, assassins and thieves, they are the ones who operate in the shadow of the order and carry out the darkest actions of the order, their symbol is a skull" Drest finished
"I understand…..and what about that Inquisidor, Knight, Paladin, Squire?" Rayla asked, curious about the names since the members of the Inquisition showed up.
"Those are ranks young Rayla, the symbol you wear changes with rank, from the lowest rank to the highest they are, Initiate, with their symbol being just a circle, without the 'I' of inquisition. Novice, you reach this rank after passing the initial tests and finishing the training classes in addition to choosing an Ordos, for this reason its symbol is the same as Initiate but with the symbol of your Ordos inside the circle and in this rank you start your training within the Ordos. Squire is the last rank of the members in training, and to get to this rank depends a lot on the Ordo you have joined, but normally you have to pass some exams, the symbol is the same as the previous rank only the six lines are added , three on each side of the circle. Then we move on to what could be called the ranks of the true members since the above are "In training". Starting with Knight Rank, this is the first "Official" rank of the Inquisition, its symbol being the Inquisition "I" with a circle in the middle with your Ordos symbol in the middle. Then comes the Knight Captain rank, they can now lead small teams made up of Knights and their symbol adds two lines, one on each side of the circle, coming out of the middle of the circle. Next comes the Paladin rank, who can lead multiple teams, their rank insignia adds 1 more line to each side of the circle. Then comes the Inquisitors, my rank and the highest rank you would normally take, we inquisitors have more freedom of movement and can decide which missions to take and which people to take, we have few restrictions and only highly decorated and highly respected people can reach this range, for our insignia one more line is added to complete the six lines in the official logo. Following this rank is the Grand Inquisitor, there are only two of these by Ordos and they are considered the left and right hand of the leader of the Ordos, their insignia having a pair of wings added above the middle circle of the "I" . Finally we have the leaders of the Ordos, the High Inquisitors, in addition to leading the Ordos, these are the ones who form the High Council, which is the group that leads the Inquisition, they add another pair of wings and put a crown on the symbol of the Inquisition"
"Who are the High Inquisitors right now?" asked Rayla
"The leader of the Ordos Militaris is High Inquisitor Soren, former crownguard of Katolis, The leader of the Ordos Magus is High Inquisitor Callum, former Prince of Katolis and one of the founders of the Inquisition, The leader of the Ordos Diplomat is High Inquisitor Bardi a former nobleman from Del Bar, The leader of the Ordos Oravit is Leah a human merchant from Duren, The leader of the Ordos Artifex is Arryn a sunfire elf former keeper of a sunforge, The leader of the Ordos Fabulae is a Tidebound Elf named Nimue, The Leader of the Ordos Animalia is the EarthBlood elf Halfar younger brother of the High Mage of the underground kingdom and finally the leader of the Ordos Occisor is Rynaxia "explained Drest without realizing how surprised Rayla is to hear certain names
Soren? Callum? Ryan? That? What? Why is Callum there? Founder? What the hell happened in the 5 years he was looking for? Rayla needed to find answers…..
And so ends the first chapter of Draco Inquisitoris, what do you think? you like it? please fav save and comment
Yes the Inquisition is inspired by the Warhammer 40k Inquisition and i am using Latin names for the Ordos
How come Callum and Soren are in the Inquisition?
Because Rayla knows Rynaxia and they are comfortable calling her Ryn?
