Annabeth

Morning Sunlight spills through the curtains, painting lines across the carpet. Annabeth rolls onto her back, stretches and yawns, slowly opening her eyes to see her fiancé watching her intently. He's laying on his side with his head propped up on his arm. The other one rests on her bare belly under silky gray sheets.

"Good morning," she says, smiling and scooting close to his warm body, gently reaching over and touching his chest.

"Morning," Percy whispers, his mind elsewhere.

"You ok?" Annabeth's query jerks him away from his distant thoughts, and he smiles reaching up to brush her golden hair behind her ear.

"Yeah," he says, his baritone voice like smooth chocolate. "Just lost in thought... I love you. I'm gonna miss you too."

"Mmm," she hums as he kisses her. "I love you too. I already miss you. Why Russia? And why do you have to be there so long? It feels like you only got home yesterday.

Percy sighs, "Annie you know I can't talk about classified stuff. I wish I could tell you. But..."

She kisses him and wraps her arms around his neck, and holding handfuls of his thick back hair.

He flips her onto her back and kisses back, gently biting her lower lip. Upon releasing her mouth, nudges her softly with his nose.

"I should probably get up and do my yoga." Annabeth sighs and shifts her body under Percy's.

"No," he says, kissing her ear. "It's my last day and I wanna stay in bed with you as long as I can."

She feels tingling up and down her body.

"Hmm,"Percy slides his hand across her inner thigh. He bites her earlobe, hot breath caressing her neck.

"It'll be worth it. Trust me."

Annabeth spits out the foamy white toothpaste.

"I'm just saying," she wipes her mouth. "She's a bitch. And I don't want her shitting on my hard work."

Percy pokes his head out of the shower.

"Sounds about right." She kisses him. He smiles. "Mmm, Minty."

"Love you," she grins. "Hurry up though. I gotta drop you off so I can get to work."

Annabeth shuts the bathroom door behind her.

She takes her time picking her outfit. A beige blouse with descending pleats across the top, and dress pants to match.

Today's the day. I have to look as professional as I can.

She went over the designs in her head. She knew her design for the "StoneRidge" project was the perfect blend of elegant and simple; The perfect utilization of space. The building cost would be at least a third less than the client budget.

If she doesn't like my plans she can kiss my ass.

"Hey babe," the bathroom door opens. "Where's our first aid kit?"

Annabeth turns around. "Oh my god! Are you okay?!"

Percy is holding a towel over his face with splotches of blood on it.

"What happened?" She rushes over to him.

"I'm fine, just cut myself shaving."

Annabeth squeezes past him. "It's in here.. ah!" She opens the cupboard and produces a red bag.

"Come here, lemme see."

He stands in front of her and removes the towel. It's a deep cut on his jawline, oozing dark red.

She dabs at the cut with an alcohol wipe.

"Stings?" She asks.

"Only a little," he replies. "Thanks."

She puts a bandaid across the cut, covering an extra piece of gauze to catch the blood.

"There!" She says, throwing the extra papers in the trash.

Percy looks at her, his eyes serious. "Annie..."

"What's wrong?"

He looks as if he wants to say something. Then he smiles, and wraps her in a big hug. "I'm going to miss you. A lot."
