For the next five years, the Midoriya household became anything but quiet. Ichiro always demanded attention, and Izuku found his parents rarely ever had the time with him anymore. Mom was usually dealing with Ichiro, and his dad rarely came home from his work in California.
Nonetheless, it would have been perfectly understandable and fine for Izuku, if Ichiro didn't have to share his room. His room was his pride and glory, the ultimate shrine to his idol 'All Might'. He had every action figure, limited time poster, and recorded interview you could imagine. He had watched in horror while his mom and dad had moved the majority of his posters and action figures in order to make room for Ichiro's baby crib/ The problem only got worse once Ichiro didn't need a crib anymore. The bed his parents had bought took up the entire other half of the room! The only space left was a single walkway between their beds, the closet in the back, and Izuku's desk where he had his computer. Though nothing could've ever prepared Izuku for what it would be like once Ichiro learned to talk.
"BIG BROTHER, BIG BROTHER, WAKE UP BIG BROTHER!" Ichiro shouted happily, jumping onto Izuku's bed with a thump.
"Ahh." Izuku grunted, feeling the full weight of a five year old on top of him. "Ok, ok, I'm awake. Could you please get off of me?" Ichiro just giggled, taking his time to get off of Izuku's stomach. "Why do you have to do this every morning?" Izuku sighed.
"Because mom said so." Ichiro laughed, making a goofy face with his tongue out. Ichiro was growing fast, he was now about 90 cm tall. He looked a little bit different from Izuku, his face did not have any dimples and was much rounder. Ichiro's hair and eyes were a much lighter shade of green than Izuku's. His normally messy and frizzy hair was perfectly tamed and shorter than Izuku's due to the haircut he'd gotten yesterday. Ichiro was already dressed in his school uniform, which was a fully black suit with gold buttons.
Izuku sighed in frustration, but got up nonetheless. His mom already had breakfast ready by the time that he got out to the kitchen. The kitchen was a relatively small space with only the essentials, such as a stove, oven, microwave, sink, and cabinets. It had a small table in the middle that seated 4 people quite nicely. Today though, it would only be the three of them. His mother smiled at both of them. Ichiro bounced around in his chair, and as soon as he got food he began violently shoveling food into his mouth.
"Well you're just a bundle of energy this morning aren't you Ichiro?" She asked happily. "Excited for your first day of school?" Ichiro nodded, he looked like a kid who had just developed his quirk.
"I don't understand what you're this excited about." Izuku said, sitting down at the table. "I mean yeah, school is interesting but this is excessive."
"Nhaha… no! Schhhhooll is gonna be AWESOME!" Ichiro said, his mouth still full of food. "I'm gonna meet so many new people! I hope they're as awesome as big brother Izuku." Izuku almost choked on his food, though his mom just softly laughed.
"Aw, don't worry honey. I'm sure you'll meet lots of great people. Though please try not to talk with your mouth full." After the family had finished eating, Inco cleaned up while Izuku and Ichiro finished getting ready to leave. "You two have a great day!" His mother called from the kitchen.
"We will! Bye mom!" Izuku called back, before rushing out the door. The city of Musutafu was a lively place, bustling with numerous people in the early morning light. Signs illuminated different shops and speakers shouted advertisements over each other. The smells of car fuel stung their noses; sounds of trains permeated all the conversations as they drew near to the station.
"Now Ichiro," Izuku said, deciding it was time for a big brother lesson moment. "When we get to school, there are people that you'll want to avoid." Ichiro looked at him, his green eyes glistening with curiosity.
"Why?" He asked simply.
"Because they'll be mean to you." Izuku explained, his mind thinking about one blond haired kid in particular.
"Why?" Ichiro asked again.
"Uh…" Izuku put his hand to his head while they boarded the train, his nine year old brain desperately searching for an answer. "That's just how they work." He finally said.
"Why?" Ichiro asked again.
"Erg," Izuku groaned in frustration, "I don't know, but that's what they do. Please just trust me on this. Make sure you stay away from the guy named Bakugo Katsuki."
…
Later, when the pair finally arrived at Aldera Elementary and Junior High School, Ichiro felt a sudden burst of excitement. He kept hold of Big Brother Izuku's hand, looking in wonder at the scene in front of him. So many people, kids of all ages walked into the school building, or talked to each other in the courtyard, or both. Ichiro had never seen anything like it in his entire life.
Ichiro split away from Izuku once they got into the actual school building, which was equally bustling with students. Ichiro had already gone over all of his kindergarten classes and had every single class memorized. However, memorizing his classroom numbers was one thing, actually finding them was another. They all had posters and other decorations posted on the doorways. It was hard for him to make out the numbers posted on the tops of the doors. Each time he wanted to see one of the numbers he needed to jump just to get the basic idea of where he was. Not to mention his need to weave in and out between other students.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity he finally found his classroom. He entered a loud scene of kids scattered around with various toys and action figures. There were brown school desks in the middle of the room, separated with a small walkway between each desks. The corners all had their own themes of toys and there were children in each of them. Only one kid sat quietly at his desk.
Ichiro cocked his head, curious. The boy had medium length brown hair, with a very round face. He wore the same school uniform that the rest of them did. Yet he sat alone, with no one to play with.
Ichiro walked over, determined to see why he wasn't playing with the other children. The boy didn't notice him at first, only lifting his head after Ichiro had deposited all of his stuff in the chair next to him. The boy's expression was one that Ichiro couldn't quite describe. In fact, he wasn't sure anyone could. It was just blank, no emotion whatsoever coming out of his almost crystalline eyes.
"Hi!" Ichiro started with a smile. "My name is Midoriya Ichiro." The boy's face changed expression almost instantly to a jovial one. His smile rivaled that of the one Ichiro had offered.
"Hi!" He said happily, "my name is Taro Aoi, it's so nice to meet you!" Ichiro was a little taken aback by this sudden change in demeanor, but he'd roll with it nonetheless.
"Do you want to be friends?" He asked excitedly.
"Of course!" Taro responded, "You want to play a game?"
"Let's go play hero, friend!" Ichiro declared.
"I call All Might." Taro exclaimed, standing up from his seat. At that moment though, a bell rang through the classroom. Ichiro noticed a shift of movement from the other side of the classroom. The teacher had stood up from her desk. She looked like a wicked woman, someone best to be avoided. Her skin was the color of leaves and her hair was a mess of wilted vines tied up into a bun. She was dressed in a tight fitting dress that stopped just below the knees. The woman had long beady eyes behind her pointy glasses, and in her hands she held a long ruler.
"ATTENTION!" She shouted at the top of her lungs. Silence encompassed the entire classroom. "You will find your seats, be quiet, and listen to morning announcements. Anyone who fails to follow my instructions will learn to very quickly." She bounced her ruler up and down in her hands threateningly.
"Don't worry," Ichiro whispered to Taro, "we can play during recess."
"I still call All Might." Ichiro said with a smirk.
…
The morning passed without trouble, they'd done some basic introductions and icebreaker games all morning. Ichiro had been a little nervous— speaking in front of 20 different people all at once—at first, but he quickly found that it wasn't so bad, fun even. He'd also been fascinated to learn that only about 5 out of the 20 kids in his class had actually developed their quirks. Normally quirks came in around the ages of 3-5, so it was quite peculiar that so many kids would still be quirkless, including Ichiro.
It didn't bother him though, and he quickly pushed it out of his mind when they went out for recess. Recess turned out to be a chaotic time, due to it being a school wide event. He and Taro tried their best to find an out of the way spot for their game, when a sudden thought passed through Ichiro's mind.
"Wait Taro." He said, "we should invite my brother to come play with us, he loves heroes."
"Really?" Taro asked excitedly. "Is he a big kid? He could be the villain! We should definitely invite him."
"YES! Let's go find him!" Ichiro exclaimed. The boys set out immediately, seeking to find Izuku. Though the playground was a lot bigger than either of them had been expecting. In the back they had a whole setup, with monkey bars, slides, rock climbs. While in the front, turf had been laid, and there were numerous picnic tables and swings to play on. Kids ran this way and that in their games, making it difficult to pinpoint where exactly Izuku was.
Ichiro and Taro continued their search, until finally they found him behind the main playground out of sight from the teachers. Izuku stood in front of another boy on the ground, who knelt clutching his stomach. Izuku had his back to the first boy and was facing a blond kid who had a large smirk on his face. He had spiky hair, with piercing red eyes.
They were on the right side of the school building, with a black fence on the far right. Izuku stood on a paved—concrete—walkway facing the blond kid. The other boys were standing in some green turf with their backs to the fence.
"Why are you being so mean, Kachann?" Izuku asked in a strained voice. "If you don't stop, then I'll stop you myself." Two other kids stood behind the Kachann, one of them was a really fat kid with dragon wings. The other had super long slimy fingers, and he wore a ballcap on his head.
"Huh," The blond kid said smirking, "you want to pretend to be a hero?" he bashed his fists together, making a tiny explosion. "You don't stand a chance without a quirk, Deku!" He saw Izuku recoil, gasping. Before Ichiro or Taro could say anything, Kachann and the other two boys charged Izuku. Ichiro watched in horror as all three of them sent a punch straight into Izuku. Kachann's punch let out a large explosion that sent Izuku straight into the ground. Ichiro screamed at what he saw, rushing to try and put himself between Kachann and Izuku.
"I'm going to get a teacher!" Taro called after Ichiro, his voice a little shaky.
"STOP!" He shouted. "What are you doing?!" Izuku gasped, recognizing Ichiro immediately.
"Ichiro?" Izuku questioned in a panicked tone. "Get out of here, that's Bakugo Katsuki!" Ichiro's eyes widened as he remembered their conversation on the train that morning.
"So it seems that all the extras want to play the hero today huh? Alright, you'll get some too!" Bakugo said, preparing for another punch. The boys behind him followed suit, winding their quirks up ready for another attack. Ichiro narrowed his eyes, determined to hold his ground against these meanies. He brought his hands up, crossed to try and protect himself, though he didn't have any fighting experience at all.
"Go get the teachers with Taro, big brother." Ichiro commanded. He heard Izuku move behind him, but didn't look to see if he'd actually done what he'd told him; Ichiro was too focused on standing his ground. He also thought he heard the other boy that Izuku had been protecting run away as well.
Bakugo charged, summoning a giant explosion to try to force Ichiro back. The moment the explosion touched his skin though, Ichiro suddenly felt something. It felt like some sort of presence from deep within him. He didn't know what it was, but he did know that it wanted to help him. That was all the confirmation Ichiro needed. He glared at the explosion Bakugo had summoned, No! He commanded in his mind. You will not hurt me.
Instantly, the fire created by Kachann's explosion ceased to move with upon its master's command. Ichiro tried his best to hold his ground as he absorbed the shockwave. He slide on his feet across the pavement, but he managed to keep himself upright without falling. The flame from the explosion floated in the air motionlessly until it fizzled out of existence. The three boys eyed it awestruck. Ichiro stood in amazement at what he'd just done. He looked at his hands and saw that they were glowing. That was… AWESOME. Is this my quirk? What can it do? What are its weaknesses? How could I combo it with other quirks? Is commanding fire it's only ability or is there more to it? He had so many questions, though unlike Izuku, Ichiro never muttered to himself.
"Yo dude!" The kid with the wings said. "That was awesome. You can control fire?"
"I… think so? That's so cool!" Ichiro looked up, excited. He temporarily forgot that the other kids were meanies. The kid with the ballcap just stood with his mouth agap in shere shock.
The sound of Bakugo screaming pulled him back to reality though. Right, he needed to focus on the here and now. He'd save his amazement for afterwards.
"You punk! You think a cheap trick like that is gonna let you win against me? I'm gonna be the greatest hero ever!" He shouted, charging once again. The other two kids didn't follow him this time, clearly too surprised by what had happened to do anything. Ichiro didn't even have time to think, much less respond, Bakugo moved so fast. As if from some hidden instinct, Ichiro took a deep breath and exhaled a gigantic beacon of fire. The flames were a light green color and he could feel their heat.
Kachann stopped in his tracks suddenly as soon as he saw the fire, a look of sheer terror and surprise spread across his features. He screamed the moment the flames overtook him, dropping to the ground. He started rolling around in the turf, trying desperately to put the fire out.
"YOU BASTARD! AHHHHHH!" He screamed, "IT HURTS SO MUCH aH AH AHAH ah…" His screaming slowly blended with crying until they sounded one in the same. Once he ran out of breath, Ichiro dropped to his knees, gasping for air. Was that also part of his quirk? What had he just done? Where was he? His thoughts were so scrambled. His head pounded with each scream from Kachann. He felt cold suddenly when he knew he hadn't before, his body was shivering violently. The world was spinning, what… is happening… to me? The next thing he knew, blackness overtook him, sending him plunging into an abyss of dark unconsciousness.

Wow it's been a good chunk of time since I published the first chapter of this. The feedback had already been more than I expected by just publishing this random idea that popped into my head. I'm glad people are enjoying my story :D. Btw for the person who commented if Izuku is getting abandoned, I can tell you that no, no he is not getting abandoned. Not yet at least ;), idk about the future I haven't thought that far ahead yet. Anyway, thank you for reading my story, see you next time. Much love and have a great day 3
