Chapter 2: Adventure Of A Lifetime
The Next Day...
Ben blinked a few times before opening his eyes slightly. He hadn't remembered much of the previous night apart from a few pieces, until he looked to his side.
"Cass?"
"Finally, you're awake, your phone's been ringing for ages."
"How did you know it was my phone?"
"I can't get Billy Joel out of my head."
"In that case, I'll go put the fire out." he pulled himself up and reached for his phone.
"That was a pun, wasn't it?"
"Maybe..."
"Who called, anyway?"
"Marcel... he sent a message saying he wants to meet near Eclipse Towers."
"Where is that?"
"An apartment building, in Rockford Hills."
"Give me five minutes and I'll go with you."
"You sure? We can always stay here for a bit."
"You don't mind?"
"Not at all, babe," he leaned over, his arm slinging itself around her. "Come here a sec."
Cassidy turned over to face him, placing a hand on his chest. "You alright?"
"Yeah, I'm great." He leaned down slightly to kiss her as he turned onto his back, pulling her on top of him. He released her after a moment. "Sorry, I got carried away."
"Hey, it's fine. I kind of liked it, actually."
"Thanks, Cass. I'm... trying not to fuck this up."
"Well, you're getting it right."
"You think so?"
"Yeah, I know we've only been together since last night but, I don't really care how we take this. I'd say we take it slow and get used to it for a while, unless you're ready."
"I don't think I'm ready yet. I'm... scared."
"Of what?"
"Of messing something up, I don't want to ruin anything."
"Ben, you're not ruining anything." Cassidy leaned down to kiss him again, wrapping her arms around his neck. She pulled away after a few seconds. "I love you, you know that?"
"I love you too," he stared into her eyes, completely lost. A few seconds later, he kissed her again, turning them over so that he was on top.
His hands began to wander, one of them resting behind her head, the other found the hem of her shirt. Cassidy let out a slight whimper into his mouth as he deepened their embrace, then Ben pulled away.
"Can you do that again?"
"What?"
"That... noise you made. I'm guessing that's your way of telling me that I'm doing good."
"You liked that?"
"It was kind of hot if I'm honest." He put his hand back in the same spot as before, "is this okay?"
"Yeah, that's... alright," Cassidy had a similar reaction to the first time, but slightly louder this time.
"Not to ruin the moment but we should probably find Marcel."
"You're right, I'll be ready in a minute."
Ben pulled himself from on top of her, opening the door to his wardrobe. "Need any spare clothes?"
"Depends on what you have."
"Take a look, it might not be much but there should be something that fits."
"Thanks, Ben," she looked inside the wardrobe, taking out a few pieces of clothing.
"Do you want me to wait outside?"
"I don't mind, you can stay if you want to."
Ben opened the door, holding his own clothes, "I'll just be out here when you're ready."
"Before you go, you might want to look down."
"What are you- for fucks sake."
"Sorry, couldn't help but notice."
"At least it's better than going all day without realising that my dick was coming out of my underwear."
"Well, now I know how easy it is to turn you on."
"Yeah, I'm going to get dressed," he closed the door behind him, both to give Cassidy some privacy and to hide his own embarrassment.
Ben parked his bike outside of the garage, turning off the ignition.
"And I think we're here."
"This is the place?"
"Yeah, sure is... there's Marcel."
"Hey, you're here."
"Yeah, what did you want to talk about?"
"The adventure of a lifetime, that's what!"
"What do you mean by that?" Ben gave him a questioning look.
"There's this guy who lives here, veteran criminal. Robbed the biggest banks type of shit."
"And?"
"We've struck a deal, if we help him on a bunch of scores, we'll earn a fuckin' shit load of cash."
"Who is this guy, then?"
Marcel pulled out his phone, "you ever heard of Trent Miller?"
"I might've done, why?"
"He's been living here for a few years now, got a criminal record the size of his fuckin' ego, and he ain't even been caught yet!"
"So, we're going to do all of his dirty work for him?"
"Nah, he'll help us through. He ain't retiring until he drops dead. C'mon, I know the room he's in."
Ben and Cassidy shared a look, before following Marcel into the building. Marcel showed them up to the room and pressed the buzzer on the outside.
"Oh, hey. It's you. I'm guessing these are the other two you're bringing along?" The voice was slightly muffled inside the room.
"Yeah, it's me. Can you let us in?"
"Yeah, sure. Hold on a second."
The door opened, revealing whoever lived there. He looked rough, middle aged and the leather jacket he had been wearing matched his darkened hair. "Sorry, didn't expect you lot so early. Want me to show you the plan?"
"Sure, why not?"
"Alright, it's just through here." He closed the main door, opening the planning room.
"I'm guessing you aren't all too experienced, unlike me. Usually, I wouldn't take it easy on beginners, but I'll let you off for this one. Think of this as a... warmup job." He brought up a page, showing a few images of a car meet. "There's this gang who like to hold a car meet from time to time, we could take a few of the cars and sell them for profit. Luckily for us, we have an easy way in."
"How do we get in, then?" Ben asked.
"I usually don't like using disguises, but they'll have to do. They post almost everything they do online, especially on Bleeter, as it turns out. The easiest way to do this is to just get some similar looking outfits, which I already have, get there, and steal the target vehicles. Sound good?"
"I think it could work. When will we move on this?"
"Hopefully today, maybe tomorrow."
Trent closed the laptop, showing them a case of weapons.
"You'll most likely need more firepower after this job, they get a lot more risky. I'll help you through as much as I can, and there's one place I've been waiting to rob for years."
"What's that?"
"Fort Zancudo, the military base. They're sitting on a stash of weapons they don't need. It shouldn't be too long until we get to that one, but I'll get you all used to the idea first. Meet me back here tomorrow, if any of you already have weapons, I'd bring them with you."
Ben hadn't thought of crime all that much, he mostly kept quiet after his father's death. What would he have thought when he found out his own son had begun committing crimes?
