I don't own anything and I am not claiming to be a good writer. Please review! Now, on with the story.
"Your assignment for the rest of the year is to write a play with a partner about two characters whose paths cross after living completely separate lives and having to change their name. The paths may cross as many times as you want but you and your partner must star in it. The performances will be staggered and auditions for the first one will start tomorrow. This project counts for your whole grade for three classes." Sikowitz slurped his coconut before continuing. "The first partnership is Jade and Cat, who will be having opening night in three weeks." He continued talking until the bell rang. "Make sure there's lots of drama!"
"Let's just tweak the script we wrote a few years ago. Add in Fallon and Zoe. And then why we left. End with a scream." The twosome plotted.
The next day, auditions took place. The roles that were up for grabs were:
-Dad
-Mom
-Kendra
-Evan
-Brett
-Archie
-Patrice
-Molly
-Malcolm
-Eddie
-Cassie
-Simon/Richie
-Governor/Mayor
-Lawyer
The auditions for Dad went well. A random kid got it. Surprisingly, Trina got the part of the Mom handily. She actually had some talent in acting. The audition for Simon/Richie went well, the role going to another shrugger. Cassie went to a shrugger. Archie went to a shrugger, along with the Governor/Mayor. Eddie and Malcolm too. The Lawyer was Andre. Beck got Brett. Tori got Kendra. Robbie was Evan. Molly went to the amazing dancer Rider played, Kayla. No one was good for Patrice, so Cat and Jade went to Principal Helen.
"We can't find any actress to play Patrice. Can we call in a friend we know? She won't have to rehearse with us and she is a great actress. Please?" They held their breaths.
"Fine." Principal Helen didn't even look up.
When they got home they called up the actress, who said yes.
PLAY DAY
SYNOPSIS OF PLAY:
Fallon is screaming at her father who is trying to get work done. He finally yells for her to take a break for at least nine years, until she was eighteen, from being Fallon Carrington. She backs away, evidently angry. This scene freezes. Then, the light comes onto Zoe, crying on a couch. Her mom tells her that it isn't healthy and that she needs to go away. For at least nine years, until she is eighteen. She asks if that's what she wants, a dead daughter and a dead-to-her daughter. The scene freezes and the lighting dims. Both girls run towards center stage and collide. They get to talking and become friends. Then they change costumes really fast and Fallon's hair gets darker. They do a song (13) and cry while listening to Patrice sing a song. It is revealed that Patrice betrayed them. Then Lucy, Kendra, Charlotte, Molly, and Cassie do a cheer and Lucy does a song. Charlotte sits with her back to the audience, her right shoulder touching Lucy's right as Lucy watches Brett and Kendra fall in love and cries. Then Charlotte spins around in place to face the audience. Lucy gets up and starts dating Brett. Then Brett dumps her for Kendra, at which point Charlotte gets physically pulled between the two while all the cheerleaders sing a song (it can't be true) and then Kendra goes after Brett. Lucy gets kicked out of Appleton by Kendra's vengeful mother, the Mayor. The governor says that she must be kicked out of Indiana altogether now. There is a quick trial and Lucy is banned from Indiana. Charlotte is left alone crying and sings a song about how lonely she is. She has a phone call with her mother, who tells her to leave Indiana and go west and not call her anymore. Right before she leaves, she gets pickpocketed. In the court, she is given back half her money, and banned for "lying to the judge" which she didn't do. She walks for a while before meeting up with Lucy, who says, 'We're free!' And the lights go black. Then someone screams.
"How did you come up with that?" Everyone gushed as they exited the theater after the play.
"In honor of that excellent play, thank you Cat and Jade, we will be taking a trip to Appleton, Indiana. And watching a play there that apparently has a few similarities to the one performed here. And Cat and Jade will be acting in it!" Sikowitz announced the next day.
Oh no, oh no, oh no.
