AN: May Kevin Conroy rest in peace.
"Enough."
The speaker; a blue-haired man dressed in a hospital gown, emerges from the doorway. His presence commands the room in a way that puts even the most hardened warriors on edge. All the monsters, previously rabid and furious, lower their stances at the man's command. His companion, a winged woman–Shayera–emerges as well and returns to Green Lantern's side all the while watching his every move.
He approaches the table at the center with no resistance, the room's occupants either too confused or cowed to stop him. The room is silent, save for the fluttering of a Crobat that hovers near him.
"Return." he orders as he picks up one of the balls resting on the table. In an instant, all the beasts retreat into the balls as streams of light connect them to their containers.
The clank of emerald chains echo through the room as the thrashing serpent returns to its ball.
Breaking the silence, the Flash asks, "Uhm…what just happened?"
"I simply recalled them." the blue-haired man answers without looking up, still observing one of the balls, "Now, I believe some explanations are in order."
Once again, the room descends into silence as the blue haired man, now clothed in attire that vaguely resembles an astronaut, takes his seat at the round table which is slightly scorched and damaged from the monsters' attacks. The balls containing the beasts that caused Earth's mightiest heroes so much trouble quiver on his belt.
The room sat in silence, only to be broken by Batman.
"Who are you?"
"I am Cyrus Akagi, I believe your caped friend found me and brought me here." he responds, motioning to Superman as he explains.
Batman glanced at the Man of Steel for confirmation, which he responded with an affirmative nod. He narrows his eyes at the response, trying to deduce as much information from the curt sentence as possible.
"…Wonder Woman, lasso."
She gives him a quizzical look, hesitating at first as she lingers on the rope strapped to her waist but eventually concedes, tying it around Cyrus' wrist with little struggle before taking her seat with the others again. He watches the woman tie the golden lasso on to him with nothing more than a mild glimmer of interest, careful not to give anything away to his interrogators.
"Protective measures?" he asks flatly.
Batman responds similarly, "Protective measures. Now, what is your relationship with those… monsters?"
He hesitates, about to give a vague explanation on his Pokemon but is soon unable to stop himself from speaking the truth about them, "They are my Pokemon. My allies; companions, if you will." he flinches at his sudden truthfulness but continues to speak, "They aid me in battle with the moves you just saw. I believe their aggression was because they were disoriented by the sudden change in locale."
Cyrus bites his tongue at the end of his statement, though he had nothing else to say. He hisses mentally to Giratina, "What was that?! Where am I? This cannot be the work of a Pokemon."
Once again, nothing but silence.
As Cyrus reels from the realization of his predicament, the heroes converse amongst themselves.
The Flash winces as he runs Cyrus' response through his head, "Ssssss… so, uh, we just beat up a bunch of confused animals trying to protect their master. That's… uh-
"Self-defense." Batman finishes bluntly.
Green Lantern concurs, "You saw what that weasel thing tried to do, even after we tried talking it down. We had no choice."
"Yeah, but, still kind of feel wrong dontcha think?"
"It attacked us, we had to attack back. That's just how it works." Wonder Woman bluntly states.
Batman cuts the conversation short, "We can talk ethics later, we need to keep this going."
They return their focus to the blue-haired man sitting across from them, his composure now returned to his regular, cold stoicness as if he was never shaken at all.
"Anything else?" he asks the group.
Superman speaks up this time, "Yes. Where are you from? I found you in Metropolis unconscious and… I don't think you seem to be from here judging from your monst… er, Pokemon."
He responds, "I am from Sinnoh and… I believe your suspicions may be accurate. I am not familiar with any organizations in my world that have access to such advanced spacecraft."
"Sinnoh?" Batman questions, "...sounds Japanese."
"That term isn't familiar to me."
A silence descends upon the room as they assess the situation. Ideas of alien worlds and dimensions linger in their brain all the while Cyrus shares a pair of glares with the cowled hero sitting across him.
Superman says, gravely, "Cyrus. Do you wish to return to your world? Sinnoh?"
"Do they even have the means…?" the blue-haired man ponders before speaking up, "...I suppose I do."
"Then we will do everything in our power to help you. We'll have to keep you up here for a while as we work on a solution though. Wonder Woman, mind untying him?"
Batman, ever the skeptic, gives his caped friend a cold stare. He retorts with an equally matched one alongside an oddly reassuring nod. Realizing his plan, he backs down as Wonder Woman releases Cyrus from the lasso.
"Flash will lead you to the quarters. If there's anything you need, feel free to approach us." He says to Cyrus, motioning to the Flash who gives him a quick wave.
Cyrus responds, "I… hm, thank you."
He gives him a quick but seemingly sincere bow as the Flash leads him out the door, already about to initiate a winding conversation with the stoic man before they even turned the corner. He watches them leave his view as Batman approaches.
"Are you sure about this, Clark?" Batman grumbles, "Letting a man we know nothing about who has the ability to command powerful monsters that can easily wreck most of our equipment wander around here?"
Superman gives him a reassuring smile, "He'll be under our watch while he's here and the quicker we get him home, the less you'll have to worry."
"What if he's a spy?"
"We have more than enough heroes and personnel on site that can overwhelm him if he tries to escape. Besides, I didn't find anything of note on him when he was in the alley."
"...fine. But, don't drop your guard around him. There's something… off about him."
"Of course, Bruce."
