Bloom was sleeping when she heard a splash from her pool and got up to see that there was some type of creature. She decided to help it out and dragged it out of the pool. She saw that it was a hedgehog, a blue hedgehog to be precise.
"Are you ok?" Bloom asked
The blue hedgehog coughed before replying.
"Yeah I am" The mysterious hedgehog said
The redheaded girl was surprised to hear him speak perfectly.
"You can talk?" Bloom asked
"Of course I can I talk" Sonic said
"What's your name?" Bloom asked
"I'm Sonic…Sonic the hedgehog" Sonic said
"I'm Bloom Domino, nice to meet you" Bloom said
Bloom then snuck Sonic back inside her mansion and to her room. Sonic saw how big her room was. It was almost as big as a living room.
"This is your room?" Sonic asked in shock
"Well…yeah, I'm your typical rich girl but you're free to stay here if you want" Bloom said
"Thanks, I'll have to take you up on that offer" Sonic said
Bloom made it to her school the next day and Sonic took this time to explore the world he was sent to. He ran across the wilderness instead of the city since he didn't want to be chased again.
Bloom herself was happy to get to school, it was the only place where she could be free for a bit. She had just transferred here and already made some friends. One was a wheelchair bound girl named Helen, one was a dark-skinned boy named Danny, one was a short pink haired girl named Francis and the last one was a boy named Chris.
It was a typical school day but as soon as lessons were over for the day, Bloom decided to go to the mystic ruins for a bit before getting caught again. She would go to a mysterious garden where these things called Chao lived. She had been watching and studying them for a while now.
She was eventually found again and told off once again for going off on her own, but the young girl just smiled and apologized for worrying them.
Sonic came back to the house in time to see Bloom doing several lessons at once. He frowned at this because from his perspective she didn't look like she was enjoying them that much but was tolerating them.
Sonic spoke to her about this.
"You didn't seem to enjoy those things you were doing" Sonic said
"Oh, the lessons, well to be honest I don't" Bloom said
"Then why?" Sonic asked
"Well, I'm expected to be perfect when I take over my family's company one day, so I don't really have time for freedom at all" Bloom said
"Come on, live a little, what's the point of living if you can't enjoy yourself?" Sonic asked
"Well, I never really thought about it all that much" Bloom said
The TV interrupted their conversation with an announcement about a little rabbit and chao being taken away and Sonic recognized them immediately.
"That's Cream and Cheese" Sonic pointed out
"Cream and Cheese? Are those your friends?" Bloom asked
"Yeah and they're in trouble I gotta go save them" Sonic said before dashing off
"Wait! Do you know even know where they are?" Bloom asked
Sonic stopped his run and ran back over to her and gave her a smile shrug, telling her that he didn't know where they were at all.
Bloom informed Sonic about where he might find them.
"Since we haven't seen individuals like you before, the first thing us humans are likely to do is to research them. They were likely taken to Area 99" Bloom said
"Area 99? What's that?" Sonic asked
"Its government research facility where the military develops weapons and does research on the unknown" Bloom said
"Let me guess, they want to experiment on her" Sonic said
"Unfortunately" Bloom said
"I got to get her out of there and fast" Sonic said
"Well I'm afraid that won't be an easy task since Area 99 has high security" Bloom said
"There's got to be something I can do" Sonic said
"Well I do have a way for you to get in, but you won't like it" Bloom said
"What is it?" Sonic asked
"You could allow yourself to get captured" Bloom said
"WHAT?!" Sonic asked in shock
"If you allow yourself to get captured the military will likely take you to area 99 as well. That could be your one and only chance to rescue them" Bloom said
"Ok got another plan?" Sonic asked
"Huh? But you wish to rescue your friends don't you?" Bloom asked
"Look if there's one thing I don't like, its allowing myself to get captured on purpose" Sonic said
Bloom guessed Sonic took pride in his speed and didn't like the thought of allowing himself to get captured unless he had a reason to.
"Well I guess I could try to help by pretending to be a lost little girl" Bloom said
Sonic groaned and decided to go with his new human friend's plan.
"Fine" Sonic said
"Okay, now lets pretend I captured you and I'll call in the forces so they'll take you to that area" Bloom said
"Hope you know what you're doing" Sonic said
"Well, I'll place my trust in you if something goes wrong. You seem to be the type of guy that can get out of almost any situation" Bloom said
Sonic just smirked and silently agreed that her instincts about him were correct.
Bloom handed him a hairpin and Sonic asked what these were for and Bloom replied they he was likely going to cuffed or something so these were for picking them. The blue hedgehog replied that he didn't need them since he could break out of some simple handcuffs.
The plan worked and Sonic was taken to area 99.
"Keep an eye on this one. He's a speedy one" One scientist said
"I'll keep my eye on him" A guard said
Sonic was then escorted to a holding cell and was kept in there. With Sonic locked in he smirked and did a spin dash and broke the cuffs off. While the guard wasn't looking Sonic broke out, unfortunately it made a loud noise and it alerted the guard. When he saw that the hedgehog was out, he looked around to see where he was. He decided to raise the alarm.
The guard ran towards a keypad that would raise the alarm but before he could even touch it, something hit the back of his head and knocked him out.
"Sorry buddy, but I can't let you raise the alarm. Take a break for a while" Sonic said
Sonic remembered Bloom telling him that the moment he busted out of his holding cell, he must knock out the guard in charge of watching over him. The next thing she told him to do was to frisk him for a keycard that would allow access to other doors.
The blue hedgehog frisked him and found the card and swiped it, which allowed him to get through the door. He sped past the cameras and looked into every room he saw until he finally managed to find Cream and Cheese, who were being held in a scanning tube.
Sonic needed to find a way to get them out of there. Suddenly the power went out.
"Don't know why the power went out, but I'll take my chance" Sonic said
The scientists heard some glass breaking and when the power was back on they saw that Cream and Cheese were gone.
Sonic managed to get them out of sight and greeted Cream and Cheese again.
"Are you okay?" Sonic asked
"We are now thanks to you" Cream said
Sonic shushed her but Cheese was excited to see him and made loud noises out of excitement and proceeded to hug him.
Some guards the commotion and pointed down that way.
"They're over there" One of the guards said
"Follow me" Sonic said
"Right, come on Cheese lets go" Cream said
The Chao nodded and everyone ran down the hallways. Some lasers were pointed at them but some airplane like devices helped them out and destroyed the lasers. They made it to an area with a staircase and Sonic heard a sound.
"You hear that Cream?" Sonic asked
Cream placed her ear against the wall and heard the noise from the outside.
"It sounds like a plane" Cream said
"Not just any plane, its got to be the tornado" Sonic said
"The Tornado? Then that means that one who's piloting it is" Cream started
"Right, Tails" Sonic said
They were proven right because Tails managed to find the place and saw Sonic, Cream and Cheese bust out of the wall. Tails smiled when he saw his friends.
"All right, Sonic" Tails said
They were happy to see each other, and Sonic gave Tails some directions to where they needed to go.
Bloom heard a plane and looked out of her window and saw a blue plane but what surprised her was the one who was piloting it. It looked like a bright yellow fox and she saw that the rabbit and chao were there too. She smiled with relief that Sonic's friends were ok.
Tails landed the tornado and Sonic thanked his human friend for her plan.
"Thanks Bloom worked like a charm" Sonic said giving her a thumbs up
Cream looked at the human girl that Sonic befriended and smiled at her before bowing.
"My name is Cream and this my friend Cheese, thanks for saving us" Cream said
"Thank Sonic, I didn't do anything to deserve such praise" Bloom said
"But you gave Sonic a plan and it worked like a charm, so in a way you helped rescue them too" Tails said
The twin tailed fox then introduced himself.
"My name is Miles Prower, but my friends call me Tails" Tails said
"It's a pleasure to meet you all" Bloom said
Cheese then started to feel sick and slumped down on the floor and this caused Cream to panic.
"Cheese?! What's wrong?!" Cream asked in a panic
"He's not looking too well" Sonic said
Cream didn't know what to do and was on the verge of crying but Bloom decided to take Cheese in arms and entered the mansion.
"Where is she taking him?" Cream asked still worried
"Let's follow her" Tails said
Bloom studied Cheese face and saw that he was suffering from something and knew what to do.
Cream followed her to her kitchen and saw the redheaded girl take out a round fruit, a triangle fruit and a square fruit. She cut the small fruits up and blended them together before shaking them together and it was make into a fruity drink. She then picked up Cheese and slowly made him drink it.
"There now, drink it all" Bloom said gently
Cheese had drunk it all and after a moment the chao recovered completely and flew in the air looking much better.
Cream was so relieved to see that her best friend would be ok.
"Oh Cheese! Thank goodness you're ok" Cream said with relief
The Chao then went back over to the human girl and hugged her face. Bloom just smiled and pet the chao on the head. Cheese relaxed instantly because he really loved the part of his head that was being petted. This surprised Cream because she hadn't seen Cheese relax like this after being pet on the head. He usually relaxed like that when she pet him like that.
"Wow its almost like she knew what to do right away" Tails said
"Yeah you're right" Sonic said
Cream thanked her for helping Cheese and Bloom replied that it wasn't a big deal.
"But you seemed to know what to do in an instant" Tails pointed out.
Bloom blushed a little at this and admitted that she actually did know what to do.
"Well that's because I did know what to do" Bloom said
"You did? How?" Cream asked
"Well, there are a lot of Chao that live in the mystic ruins here and I study them from a distance. I studied the fruit that they eat and knew what effects they have on them" Bloom said
"Amazing" Cream said
"Speaking of Chao, I need to get over there right away" Bloom said
"Why?" Cream asked
"Because a I believe that a Chao egg is about to hatch over there" Bloom said
"A Chao egg?" Cream asked
"You're free to come with me if you want but you need to stay hidden from the humans here or else they'll try to capture you again" Bloom said
Sonic decided to relax and nap while Tails decided to do some investigating about the world they ended up in.
Bloom, Cream and Cheese made it the garden where the Chao were and Cream was excited to see so many of them.
"Wow so many Chao. I've never seen so many Chao here before" Cream said
"I'm guessing the only Chao you tend to hang out with is Cheese" Bloom said
Cream just nodded and followed Bloom towards the chao egg that was about to hatch. The Chao egg that was there started to shake and the shell cracked and with one final push the chao pushed the upper half of the egg off and the chao had been born.
"Aww its so cute" Cream said
Cream looked around and was shocked to see that there were different colored Chao here.
"There are Chao here with different colors" Cream pointed out
Cream pointed towards the Chao that were red, green, dark blue, etc.
"Are they ok?" Cream asked
Bloom giggled at the rabbit's concern and reassured her that those Chao were just as healthy.
"Don't worry, those Chao are just as healthy as the one you just saw hatching" Bloom said
"But they're different colors" Cream pointed out
"Well that's because Chao can be born with different colors. In fact there are Chao that can be gold and silver as well" Bloom said
"Really?" Cream asked
Bloom nodded and they returned to the mansion and Bloom had a gift for the young rabbit. She gave Cream a brown Chao egg.
"Take this Chao egg, I'm sure cheese would love to have another Chao by his side" Bloom said
"Really, I can have this?" Cream asked
Bloom nodded.
"Yes, but you need to promise to take good care of this Chao" Bloom said
Cream promised to take care of the egg and the Chao when it hatches. The young rabbit looked at her new friend and noticed that her friend was smiling but realized it was a sad smile.
Sonic then explained his situation and Bloom got the gist of it.
"So the space-time movement known as Chaos Control sent you here and these Chaos emeralds are the cause and the only way to get back home is to find them again" Bloom said
"Right but what concerns me is that everyone that got caught up in Chaos Control probably got sent here too" Sonic said
"Sonic are you suggesting that Eggman got sent here too?" Tails asked
"That's exactly what I'm concerned about, buddy" Sonic said
The next day, Bloom performed her regular lessons as usual and performed them perfectly but Sonic still didn't like the thought of her being forced to do this in the first place.
"What's wrong Sonic?" Tails asked
Sonic snapped out of his thoughts and shrugged them off.
"Eh, its nothing buddy" Sonic said
Sonic decided to go on a run again and ventured out into the wild areas.
Bloom soon had a visitor; it was her uncle Valtor.
"Hi Uncle Valtor" Bloom said
"Greetings Bloom, I hope everything you've been learning has been useful to you in some way" Valtor said
Bloom looked away for a moment before replying.
"Y-yes thank you. They have been helping me" Bloom said
"Remember we need you to the perfect human being that's capable of anything. Perform them with grace and perfection" Valtor said
Bloom's teachers informed him that Bloom was doing everything perfectly like usual and the uncle smiled.
"Good, I'm happy to hear this. I am very pleased with this" Valtor said
Bloom just smiled and nodded, although it was her sad smile.
Cream happened to witness this from her hiding spot and made up her mind that she didn't like Bloom's uncle one bit.
Bloom was at the beach by herself since she was given time off from her lessons and it was a Saturday.
She relaxed here for a bit before changing back into her white dress, sandal and jean jacket. She then noticed a shadow underneath the ocean and knew that it was too big to be shark. It rose up from the water and to Bloom's shock it was a giant robot. It was white and green in color.
Everyone soon started to scream and ran with the robot shot missiles from its wrists and destroyed everything in sight. She looked up and saw a man with a brown mustache in some type of floating vehicle.
"Ah there's nothing like making waves at the beach" The man said
A maid hollered out to the redheaded girl to run.
"My lady, you must run now!" The maid said
Bloom snapped out of her daze and ran to where the maid was.
The robot soon laid its assault on the city. The man soon introduced himself to the city as Doctor Eggman and told them that he was planning on taking over this city to build his Eggman Empire and that resistance was futile.
Bloom spotted Helen a few feet away and saw the terrified look on her face upon seeing the invader. Some rubble started to fall and Bloom decided to take action and rushed towards her friend, with her maid telling her to come back.
The blond paraplegic felt her wheelchair being shoved hard. This caused Helen to fall out of her chair. The blond girl looked back and saw that her redheaded friend was the one who shoved her out of the way before having one of her ankles crushed by the rubble, causing her to scream in pain.
"BLOOM NO!" Helen shouted
Everyone started to run away and took cover, and the police couldn't really much of anything against a giant robot that was immune to all their weapons.
Helen saw her friend whimper underneath the rubble but tried her best to not scream or cry. The blond girl crawled over towards the rubble and tried to get them off of her friend but there's way a 5th grader would be able to lift huge piles of rubble.
"Helen get away from here" Bloom said
The blond girl shook her head, refusing to leave her friend alone.
"Please leave" Bloom said
"I'm not leaving you here by yourself! You can tell me to go as many times as you want but I simply refuse to leave you hurt like this" Bloom said
The redheaded girl looked at her friend. Her heart felt warm when her friend refused to leave her side to save herself.
The young girl then noticed that another missile wrist attack was coming towards them and since Helen refused to move she would make her move. She gripped her friend's shirt and managed to toss her aside in time because the wrist grabbed the redhead and took her back up to where the robot was. All Helen could do was shout her friend's name as she was now a hostage of Eggman.
"Come now, think rationally, you wouldn't want anything to happen to this young girl, would you?" Eggman asked with an evil grin.
The mayor saw this and tried to talk the evil scientist into releasing Bloom.
"That girl has nothing to do with this, let her go" The mayor said
"Surrender the city to me and I'll assure her safety" Eggman said
"As I told you before, I don't have the authority to surrender the city" The Mayor said
Eggman snapped his fingers and his robot started to squeeze Bloom and she grunted in pain, but she tried to remain perfectly calm. The scientist looked at his hostage and saw that she tried her best to remain perfectly calm, but he could tell that she was scared.
"Don't worry, once I get what I want you'll be free to go" Eggman said
Bloom opened one eye and glared at the doctor, but Eggman wasn't intimidated at all but the glare of a little girl.
Tails soon arrived and started to shoot at robot with the tornado, but his shots were too weak to penetrate the armor.
Bloom couldn't believe that she was a useless hostage. She was supposed to be a perfect human and yet here she was, taken hostage by a mad scientist. A pink hedgehog tried to help her and came at the robot with her hammer.
"Leave that girl alone, Eggman!" The pink hedgehog said
The pink animal's attack proved to useless because it didn't do anything at all. A red Echidna tried to punch the robot, but Bloom was used as a shield forcing the red animal to stop his attack.
"Coward! Using an innocent girl as shield to hide behind!" The hedgehog said
"Well Amy, if you wish to join her then I'll grant your wish when I'm done here" Eggman said
"Let her go Eggman" The red echidna said
"Well Knuckles I'd be happy to but she's my partner in crime at the moment" Eggman said
Eggman then saw that his archnemesis was dashing towards his robot and smiled.
"Ah finally, Sonic's here. Missile wrist get ready to fire" Eggman commanded
The robot tossed Bloom aside and the redhead was caught by Knuckles. Sonic was given a power ring by Tails and started to spin dash up towards the building.
"Hurry up and fire" Eggman ordered
The robot unleashed a shower of missiles and it looked like one of them hit the blue hedgehog.
"Ha finally" Eggman said
However Sonic was still spin dashing and was perfectly fine and went way up in the air and Eggman made it attack again.
"In the air! Fire away!" Eggman said
The robot unleashed its missile wrists but Sonic managed to land on them and was taunting Eggman by dancing on them.
"Wise guy, I'll show you" Eggman declared
Sonic's response was more taunt dancing and that's when Knuckles had an idea.
"Sonic, try the ole slap on the wrist" Knuckles hollered
Sonic smiled and agreed.
The robot looked at its arm and saw the hedgehog on it and he made a face at the giant robot. The mech then tried to slap Sonic with this other arm but Sonic dodged it in time and jumped in the air. The robot ended up destroying its right arm.
"Fire upwards!" Eggman said
The robot unleashed another shower of missiles at the blue hedgehog, and they all exploded on contact.
"WE DID IT!" Eggman cheered
However, Sonic was still perfectly fine. He spin dashed down towards the robot and slammed right down on the robot's head and the giant machine started to sparking and then exploded.
"Way to go Sonic!" Tails cheered
The smoke cleared and revealed a soot covered Eggman. Sonic stepped forward with a confident look of victory on his face.
"You lose, Eggman" Sonic said
"This isn't over blue boy. You haven't seen the last of Eggman this entire universe will belong to me along with the chaos emeralds" Eggman declared as he laughed before disappearing
Amy soon hugged Sonic, saying that she was scared that she would never see him again. Meanwhile Sonic was begging Amy to let him go because she was crushing him.
Sonic then noticed Bloom's badly bruised ankle and asked her if she was ok.
"Are you okay?" Sonic asked with concern
Bloom tried to reassure Sonic that she was fine.
"Don't worry, I'm fine" Bloom said
The blue hedgehog noticed that his human friend was visibly shaking but she was trying hard not to make it obvious that she was scared. He could tell that she was scared from the experience. However, everyone soon had to leave because some police showed up and they had to flee and they managed to get away but Knuckles decided to hop off half way, preferring to do things his way.
When Bloom got home, her uncle was there and frowned upon seeing the bruised ankle she had.
"I heard from the maid what happened to you. It's not like you to be this foolish" Valtor said
Bloom looked away in shame.
"S-sorry, something came over me" Bloom said
Her uncle just sighed.
"We'll have to limit the amount of time your allowed out of the house aside from school" Valtor said
Bloom was about to protest but she saw the look in his eyes.
"Is there a problem with that?" Valtor asked
Discouraged, Bloom just shook her head that she was fine with that.
"Good, now make sure that this doesn't happen again. I wouldn't want to report this to your parents" Valtor said
The redhead just nodded and remained silent.
Tails saw what Cream meant by not liking the man.
"Poor Bloom, she looks devastated" Tails said
"Isn't there something we can do, Tails?" Cream asked
"I'm not sure, Cream. She seems to be sheltered and was raised like this. She probably got used to it" Tails said
Sonic thinks its about time to show her some freedom.
Bloom was getting ready for some lessons but Sonic barged into her room unannounced, causing her to jump in surprise.
"Yo, Bloom" Sonic said
After recovering from her friend's sudden appearance she asked him if he needed something.
"U-um do you need something Sonic?" Bloom asked
"Mind coming with me on an adventure?" Sonic asked with a smile
The redhead was taken aback by this sudden request of his.
"Well, sure but it will have to wait until I'm done so" Bloom started before being interrupted.
"Let's get going now" Sonic said as he lifted her up bridal style.
Bloom yelped at this and tried to tell the hedgehog that she couldn't travel right now.
"Don't worry, you can afford to miss some lessons, can't you?" Sonic asked
Bloom was about to say no but she didn't get the chance to because Sonic was already out the door with her in tow.
Amy was relaxing near the pool and couldn't believe her new human friend lived such a luxurious lifestyle. Cream was relaxing with her and loved the sunlight. She kept a close eye on her Chao egg, wishing that it would hatch soon.
"The only thing that would make this better if Sonic was here right beside me. Where is my darling Sonic anyways?" Amy asked
Cream was nervous to answer but she had to be honest.
"He said he was taking Bloom on an adventure" Cream said
Cream saw Amy's face change to one filled with rage.
"HE LEFT WITH THAT GIRL INSTEAD OF ME?!" Amy shouted
"Amy please keep it down, we're trying to stay hidden" Cream said politely
Amy couldn't calm down and brought her hammer and was about to smash the table but Cream tried to stop her.
"Wait Amy, please try to understand her situation first" Cream said
That seemed to have grabbed Amy's attention because she had no idea what Cream was talking about.
"What situation?" Amy asked
Cream explained what she learned about Bloom's life and the pink hedgehog forgot about her anger and felt sorry for her human friend.
"Wow I had no idea" Amy said
"I don't that mean Uncle of hers" Cream said
"Sounds to me like she can't freely express herself. Also the perfect human? There's no such thing as a perfect human, nothing's perfect" Amy said
"Bloom seems convinced that she's destined to be the perfect human though" Cream said
"She's being manipulated, Cream. We need to let her know that she can't allow herself to be manipulated like that" Amy said
Cream nodded in agreement and wondered how they were supposed to show her how to be her own person instead of being someone else's puppet.
Sonic was running through the mountain with Bloom in his arms and the redhead had her head turned the other way to prevent the strong wind from hitting her face.
"Don't look away, look forward" Sonic said
"But Sonic" Bloom said
"Come on give it a shot" Sonic said
Bloom looked forwards and felt the rush of the wind brushing up against her face and her eyes widened by this sudden feeling of adventure. She felt her heart beating rapidly. Was this excitement that she was feeling? Is this what having fun felt like?
Sonic smirked when he saw the looked in her eyes change. He saw the spark in her eyes change. Bloom's soul was starting to become its own being instead of being someone else's.
Sonic stopped and placed her down in a sitting position.
"What did you think of that?" Sonic asked
Bloom couldn't even put her thoughts into words.
"I…I don't know how to form my feelings into words. It was so different. This is something I haven't experienced before" Bloom said
Sonic smiled, he was making progress with her.
"That's what freedom feels like" Sonic said
Bloom was confused by this.
"Freedom?" Bloom asked
"Don't you ever feel trapped by staying in that house all the time?" Sonic asked
Bloom looked away, afraid to express her feelings towards Sonic.
"Well…kind of" Bloom said
"Don't you want to escape being in a cage and living life as free as the wind?" Sonic asked
Bloom wasn't sure how to respond.
"I believe you do" Sonic said
Bloom was surprised that Sonic answered his own question to her for her.
"What makes you say that?" Bloom asked
"You would always go towards the Chao garden despite that family of yours warning you not to right? That's a sign of you wanting freedom" Sonic said
Bloom thought back and realized that Sonic was right. She truly did desire freedom from the sheltered life.
"But I need to be…the perfect human" Bloom said
"Listen to me, no one's perfect, not you, not me, not anyone. I think they just want to control you" Sonic said
Bloom was shocked to hear this from her friend and tried to deny Sonic's accusation.
"No your wrong!" Bloom said
Sonic looked at her with a look of surprise.
"How am I wrong exactly?" Sonic asked
"Because my family is just doing what they believe is best for me. They told me it was the best for my future" Bloom said
Sonic frowned. This poor girl had been brainwashed by this so-called perfect family of hers.
"They don't get to decide what's best for you, only you get to decide what's best for you. Listen your heart. What's important is what you want" Sonic said
Bloom remained silent before Sonic spoke up again.
"I heard that you saved a girl from some rubble when Eggman attacked the city. It was your own decision to save her. No one made that decision for you. Don't be trapped in a cage anymore. Pick that lock and be free like the wind" Sonic said
Sonic then lifted her up again and ran again and went even faster. Bloom felt the wind once more and thought back to what Sonic said. She was always pretending to be happy and put up a mask to hide her own loneliness. No one tried to understand her, and the servants only seemed to care about her because that was their job.
Sonic felt something wet touching him and looked over to see that his human friend was releasing tears but it looked like she was unaware of them.
"You ok?" Sonic asked
"Yeah I'm fine" Bloom said
"You're tears are telling me a different story" Sonic said
Bloom was surprised when she heard that and put her hand to her face and felt the tears on her face.
"Why am I crying? I don't understand" Bloom said
"I think you're starting to break those shackles of yours. You'll feel freedom in no time" Sonic said
They were soon back at the mansion and Valtor was there and luckily Sonic was out of sight. Her uncle was glaring at her.
"You skipped your lessons today. Why?" Valtor asked
"I-I just wanted a break" Bloom said
"You wanted a break? Bloom, you're supposed to be perfect. What you want doesn't matter" Valtor said
Bloom looked away before shaking her head.
"No" Bloom responded
"Excuse me?" Valtor asked with a raised eyebrow
"I said no. There's no such thing as a perfect human" Bloom said
Valtor glared at her and asked her where she got such an idea.
"Who told you that?" Valtor asked
Bloom remained silent but soon responded.
"A friend of mine. I don't believe there is such a thing as the perfect human" Bloom said
"You're too naïve. We're trying to make you the first perfect human being who is capable of doing anything. Just imagine yourself capable of doing anything. This for the good of humanity" Valtor said
Bloom stepped back and remained silent. Tails saw this and frowned at this. This guy was really good with words when he wants to manipulate someone.
"Must we do a refresher course on what it means to be perfect?" Valtor asked
Bloom shuffled back and shook her head.
"N-no" Bloom said
"Alright, as long as you understand" Valtor said
Bloom went back to school and Helen approached her asking her if she was ok.
"Bloom are you ok? Are you still hurt?" Helen asked
"Relax, she's fine" Danny said
"And how would you know that?" Francis asked
"Well she looks fine to me so that means she's ok right?" Danny asked
"You boys and your simple minds" Francis said shaking her head
"I'm fine, trust me" Bloom said
"Are you sure?" Helen asked in concern
"Yes, don't worry" Bloom said
"If something is ever troubling you, you can always talk to us. We're your friends" Chris said
"Right…friends" Bloom said
Helen was now back at home, but her mind was still on her friend, she was so worried about her. She could see that sad smile of hers and for once she wanted to see a genuine smile from her instead of a fake one.
Helen's mother, Rebecca, looked at her daughter and saw the look of worry on her face.
"Sweetie are you ok?" Rebecca asked
Her daughter didn't answer, she was still lost in thought about Bloom.
"Honey?" Rebecca asked
Helen seemed to have finally snapped out of it and looked at her mother.
"Oh sorry Mom, I was lost in thought" Helen said
"I could see that" Rebecca said
The two of them then heard the door open and Helen knew that her dad was home.
"I'm home" Doug called out
Rebecca went over to Doug and told him about Helen and he knew that something was bothering her daughter and went over to visit with his daughter.
"You're mother tells me that something is troubling you" Doug said
"Well its nothing to be concerned about" Helen said
"Helen sweetie, if something is bothering you then you can tell us. It's not good to keep things bottled up" Rebecca said
Helen finally decided to confess what's been on her mind.
"Well its about Bloom" Helen said
"You mean that new rich girl that transferred to your school around a month ago?" Doug asked
"Yeah that one" Helen said
"Is she bullying you or something?" Rebecca asked
Helen shook her head immediately.
"No no, nothing like that. I've been trying to get closer to her and I've made some progress but she seems to distance herself from others" Helen said
"Maybe she's just shy" Doug guessed
"I think there's something else going on but I don't what and she saved me the other day when that Eggman attacked the city" Helen said
"She saved you?" Rebecca asked
Helen explained what happened and they were horrified to learn that their daughter was nearly hurt from that attack but were relieved that this girl saved her.
Bloom saw the news about a mysterious energy source and believed that it was this Chaos emerald that Sonic and hid friends were looking for. She told Cream to tell Sonic and that she would try to get the emerald.
She managed to sneak on the construction site and looked around the spot where it was supposed to be and dug up the dirt. Sure enough there was the emerald. She smiled because she happy to useful for once. She grabbed it and was about to head back but she was stopped when she saw a certain scientist in front of her.
"Well well, if isn't my little hostage from the other day and I see you went through the trouble of finding the chaos emerald for me. Now hand it over" Eggman said
The girl clutched the Emerald tighter and refused to hand it over to him.
"This emerald is for Sonic and his friends, not you" Bloom said
"You don't seem to understand the situation you're in. I could squash you like a bug if I wanted to but to destroy someone who's weaker than I am is not how I roll. I'll give you a choice either hand over the emerald or I'll take it by force. Its your choice" Eggman said
"I-I won't give it to you" Bloom said
Eggman just sighed. Why did everyone always choose the hard way?
"Very well, you had your chance. I'll simple take you again and this time I'll defeat Sonic" Eggman said
He then called on his bird like robot.
"Alright Beacon take that emerald from that girl" Eggman said
The bird robot flew at her with high speed and Bloom managed to dive out of the way in time. But it came back around and grabbed the emerald along with Bloom. Eggman soon approached her and tried to take the emerald but Bloom kept a tight grip on it and this proved to annoy Eggman.
"Alright enough now let go!" Eggman demanded
"No, I won't" Bloom said
"Can you see you've lost? Give up!" Eggman said
Bloom kept a tight a grip on the emerald and refused to let it go. The emerald started to shine brightly which caught them both by surprise.
"What's this now?" Eggman asked in surprise.
Eggman soon backed away from it since he didn't like what the emerald was doing and Bloom kept holding it.
Tails and Amy were headed towards the site where the emerald was, and Sonic wasn't that far behind. They saw the green light over at the construction sight.
"What's going on over there?" Amy asked
"One way to find out" Tails said
The heroes came to the sight of one Eggman's robots having Bloom in its mouth and they saw Bloom was holding the emerald.
"What's going on with the emerald?" Sonic asked
"I'm not sure but its releasing a lot of power" Tails said
The emerald then unleashed a shockwave of light that ended up blowing Bloom and the robot away from each other. Sonic ran forward and caught his friend and saw she was still clutching the chaos emerald.
The glow of the emerald soon faded and Eggman soon took this opportunity to attack Sonic.
"Alright Beacon attack Sonic and then get that chaos emerald" Eggman said
The robot charged at Sonic and Tails took this time to give Sonic a power ring and he performed a spin dash and destroyed the robot with ease.
Seeing that he was outnumber Eggman decided to retreat.
"You may have won today Sonic, but you won't be so lucky next time" Eggman said as he flew away
Bloom soon recovered and saw that her friends were concerned about her.
"Are you ok?" Tails asked
"I'll be fine" Bloom said
Everyone soon returned to the mansion and while Bloom was getting ready for bed she looked at herself in the mirror and brushed her hair and saw something she knew wasn't there before, a green diamond on her forehead. She touched it and wondered what on earth it could be.
She decided to look more into it in the morning when she was more rested.
The next morning she was doing her physical activities at home and was assigned to run. Bloom did just that but what she went faster than she thought she would, a lot faster. With no control over her speed she ended up tripping and falling flat on her face.
"Ow" Bloom groaned
The redheaded girl decided to do some simple lifts instead, but she ended up lifted far more than she thought she would and ended up dropping them. The next thing she noticed was that her ankle was now fully healed like it was never injured in the first place.
Bloom decided to go to Tails for advise on something like this.
"Um Tails can you help me?" Bloom asked
The twin tailed fox was surprised that his human friend was asking him for help but he smiled and nodded.
"Of course, what do you need help with?" Tails asked
Bloom described her morning and Tails was finding it hard to believe at first and but he looked at the diamond on her forehead and Tails said he would run some tests on her to see what could've caused this.
Tails did a scan on Bloom and was shocked by the results.
"This can't be right" Tails said
The others were also there and were wondering what it was that had Tails confused.
"What's wrong buddy?" Sonic asked
"Look at these readings, they have the same readings as a chaos emerald" Tails said
"But how could that have happened?" Cream asked
"I think it has something to do with what the emerald did to her yesterday" Tails said
"What do you mean buddy?" Sonic asked
"Bloom, if these calculations are correct, you managed to absorb the chaos energy from the chaos emerald" Tails said
Bloom was shocked to learn this as well and was wondering how she did that.
"It's like you're a human chaos emerald" Sonic said
"But how could she have absorbed the emerald's power, it doesn't make sense" Amy said
"I don't know but what matters right now is that Bloom is flowing with Chaos energy and we need to help her control it or else things might get bad" Tails said
Bloom would soon begin some chaos training to control her new powers.
