Hi all! Aristotle's Pen is BAAACK! Eternally Mortal is my first one-shot Saiyuki fic. Its about Sanzo & his painful life. Please R&R! Enjoy! (Sanzo x Goku strongly implied!)

Kanzeon Botsatsu comes into view. She's sitting near the lotus pond talking to Jiroushin.
"Konzen feels too much. He puts on this rock-like act, pretending that he's never hurt. Truth is, he's not fooling many. He thinks too much. He CARES too much, as hard as that may be to believe. He doesn't want to care. He doesn't want to be hurt again. Ah, Konzen, Konzen, Konzen…"
An image came into the lotus pond. It was Koryu standing at a door, covered in blood, crying. It was the day his master died. Then a voice sounded. It was Koryu's voice, except now it had a dream-like quality.
"I couldn't protect him…"
"Exactly like you, Konzen. Too overprotective." Mumbled the scantily clad goddess to no one in particular.
The image faded away. It was quickly replaced by one of a poisoned Sanzo. The same dream-like voice sounded.
"I have to live. I can't die. I have too… That stupid saru…"
Suddenly, Sanzo's eyes flew open.
"You act like you aren't scared. You're scared of death, aren't you Konzen? That's why you choose stupid little reasons to give you motivation to live. Right? You won't die easily. Maybe you won't ever die… Hmph…" The goddess' eyes continued to stare at the lotus pond unblinkingly.
Suddenly, the pond was filled with different images all at once. Sanzo taking Goku, Sanzo reaching for Goku through a pile of armour. Sanzo replacing Goku's power limiter before falling over… All the images were of Sanzo & Goku.
"You really like that saru, don't you?" a small smile crept onto her face.
The image changed again. It was Sanzo when he had been poisoned by scorpion venom by a youkai who wanted to eat him. The voice came sounded again. This time it was much more clearer.
"I won't die. I have to prove I'm not weak."
"You hated being weak. Don't worry Konzen. You aren't weak. You feel pain, you even feel love. But you won't die. You're eternally mortal…"
