The sun has not yet broken the horizon line when Kiriko wakes up naked in Hirota's bare arms.
She turns her head. He is still sleeping, but she knows that he'll wake up at the drop of a hat, so she lies still. She matches her breathing with his but she quickly realizes that Hirota's breathing is much, much slower than hers. Or any humans.
Kiriko holds back a cough.
Hirota wakes up anyway, despite her efforts.
"You okay?" he asks.
"Mmh." Kiriko clears her throat. "I was trying to match your breathing. It didn't go so well."
Hirota smiles. "What do you want for breakfast?"
Kiriko can't resist. "You?"
"Already had me plenty," he answers. "We need to eat something."
Kiriko spreads her legs. "Me?"
"Kiriko…"
"I'm joking." She grins. "Mostly."
He rolls his eyes. Hirota realizes, for a second so brief and so split that even forgets that it passes, that he has missed this. How much he has missed this. How much he has missed Kiriko. How much he has missed spending time with Kiriko.
Kiriko is as relentless as ever. She drains him slowly, deliciously, driving him— and herself too— nearly delirious with pleasure. She ignites every inch of his body, sinking her claws and fangs into him, licking him, draining him of everything that he is worth.
He does the same to her. And in her cries, her screams, her groans, and her moans of burning passion— in her twitching legs and thighs, her quivering arms, her rolled-back eyes, and her lolling tongue, Kiriko shows her love.
They get out of bed later rather than sooner.
They both walk down into the living room and kitchen, where the rest of the team— of Overwatch— who are not on an assignment linger and loiter.
Lucio stares at both of them. "You two… We gotta soundproof your room."
"I thought they already were," Hirota says.
Kiriko flops onto the couch beside Hana and Brigitte. The girls look at her— Hana turns a light shade of red while Brigitte just smirks knowingly.
Cassidy chuckles, sipping at his black coffee. "They're not. Glad to know you two are back together, at least."
"As long as it doesn't get in the way of any missions," Winston comments. "Null Sector has been increasingly active, and that means we'll be deploying more often these coming weeks."
"The fighting never stops, huh?" Hirota says.
"So long as we retain our human tendencies," Ana answers from her seat beside Cassidy. "The fighting will always continue."
Kiriko stands up from the sofa and makes her way to Hirota. She takes his arm in her hands. "We'll figure it out."
"I know," Hirota says. He looks to the rest of Overwatch, everyone who's present, at least. "We've already done so much. How much more do we need to do?"
"Until the job is done, Hirota," Cassidy says. A grim look passes across his features. "Until the job is done."
