Chp: Flames and strength…

"Person or creature speaking"

'Person or creature thinking.'

The first thing Ronald Arc, patriarch of the Arc family, expected this early in the morning was maybe stepping on a leftover lego from his children. He expected to see his lovely wife making coffee in their large but homely kitchen. He expected to see his eldest daughters grumbling to the kitchen pantry, grabbing the various breakfast foods.

What he didn't expect, was to hear his son start to scream and wail. At that, the whole Arc household, jerk out of their morning grog and rush up the aged wooden stairs. The first things he sees is smoke escaping from underneath his sons and daughters room. His wife gasps from behind him, his eldest giving a squeal of fear. "Fire!" She gasps out, Ronald hearing her stumble down the stairs to find the fire extinguisher.

Ronald and his wife push forward, another scream echoing from behind the door. This one, feminine and crying. With a grunt of exertion, he kicks the wooden door down; voice coming out in a scream. "Jaune! Jeanne!"

He starts to cough as the smoke enters his lung, raising his hand to wave away some of it. He sees, Jeanne, his youngest daughter trying to pat out her twin brother. His green eyes dart to his sons bed, his only sons bed. It was engulfed in flames, his son wailing as the fire devours the soft comforter and bed beneath him. The screams coming from his son echoed painfully through the house, his wife screaming and rushing forward to try and stop the flames.

"Saphron!" He screams, praying his eldest had found the fire extinguisher. His prayers are answered when, the curly blonde hair of Saphron rushes to him with the shiny red metal tucked in her arms. He grabs it, quickly making work of the mechanism, pushing his wife out of the way. Jeanne, his sweet sweet little girl, was still trying to beat away the flames; tears streaming down her face as she screamed for Jaune.

With a gush of white fire retardant foam, he starts to douse his son and the bed. His sons screams are silenced by the foam, the flames being doused and silenced. After the flames are out, his wife moves forward to pull their son from the white foam and burnt corpse of his bed. Rose, their 2nd eldest daughter, move forward with the family medical kit in hand; light pink hair bouncing. He fears the worst; black skin, seeping wounds, and the sickening smell of burnt flesh and hair. He expects to hear the crying of his wife and daughters as they try to keep his son alive. His blood is ice, stomach twisting and flipping as he hears another of their daughters bring out their scroll and call up the local hospital. What he doesn't expect to hear is his wife gasp and mutter.

"What the fuck…"

At that, he hears Rose also give a noise of confusion, walking forward to look at his son. His son, Jaune, was perfectly fine. Crying, wailing up a storm, blonde hair and body soaked by the white foam. But he wasn't burned or even singed, everything looked fine. "What the…" Ronald mutters, hoping this was some kind of odd nightmare. As he thought of this, Jaune start to hiccup and reach forward for his wife to pick him up. "Mama! Mama!"

His wife, his beautiful light of his life, reaches for to grab Jaune and nuzzle him in relief. He sees steam come from his sons hands and feet; staring at them in confusion. His wife lets out a pained cry when Jaunes hands touch her arms.

At the cry, Ronald looks to where Jaune touched his other. There, around his wifes forearms, where Jaune had touched her was a black hand print. His instinct screams that something is wrong, time slowing down to him. He looks to his son, face scrunched up and crying; he looks to his wife, her angelic face scrunched up in pain. He looks to his daughter Rose, Jeanne being brought into the older girls chest; to quiet down the girls crying.

He looks to Jaune, eyes landing on his sons hands and feet. Steam rose from them as he stumbled forward, a bright glow settled beneath his sons skin.

"Isabelle! Don't let Jaune touch you!" His mouth runs ahead of his thoughts, mind connecting the dots. At that Isabelle jerks away due to his shout, Jaune stopping in his place. "What?" She asks, glancing between he and their son.

"Look at his hands and feet." Ronald explains, Isabelle doing so. Her eyes widen, seeing the deep glow settling beneath their sons hands. Black footprints were left behind the young boy as he stumbled forward. Despite the danger, Isabelle gives a glare; moving forward and scooping Jaune up in her arms.

A few seconds after, the smell of burning cloth and flesh comes out. Jaune was holding onto his mother with a death grip, his arms wrapped around her neck. His feet were tucked into her arms; Isabelle singing a small song into his ear. She ignored the burning sensation on her back and front.

Ronald curses, mind racing for a way to either cover his sons burning hands and feet, or stop them. He jerks in realization, running out of the room; passing buy Azure, who stumbled out of his way still speaking on the scroll. He bursts out of the house, eyes darting and landing on the family shed. He runs to it, shoulder charging the door open. His eyes dart around the dusty interior, tools and other miscellaneous things greet him. His eyes land on what he was looking for, grabbing a pair of metallic gauntlets. He rushes back into the house, bounding up the steps 3 at a time. He rushes into the room, seeing his wife still singing softly to Jaune.

He slides the gauntlets onto Jaunes hands, strapping them onto his forearms. That makes his wife sigh in relief, Saphron moving forward with some aluminum foil. She quickly started to wrap his feet in the shiny material; Ronald nodding to her. After a minute, they all breath a sigh of relief when Jaunes burning hands and feet were covered.

Jeanne moved forward from Rose, reaching up for Isabelle to pick her up. Isabelle does so, shifting Jaune to her right side and lifting her youngest into the air and balancing her on the left side. At that, the twins start to hug each other; both nuzzling the other with tear stricken faces. Isabelle softly whispers to them, looking to Ronald. He looks to her, and nods. "Hospital."

At that, the family move through the house; Saphron and Rose moving to the family van. Azure locked the door behind them, telling the hospital that they were in route. He enters the van driver side, Isabelle in the back. Once everyone was in the vehicle, he slammed the brake; shifting out of park and into gear. After that, he puts the petal to the metal; family van groaning and revving as he tears out of the family estate.

At the hospital

The nervous energy fluctuating between each of the Arc family, was easily seen by the local nurses. Isabelle held a struggling Jeanne in her arms, Saphron and Rose helping to keep her entertained. Jaune was across from them, sitting in front of the local doctor. The man was old, grey hair swept back and gelled in place. Thick glasses sat on a wrinkly face, the man humming in thought.

"Well?" Ronald questions, annoyance and worry filtering through his voice. The old doctor doesn't say anything, bringing up a clipboard with Jaunes info on it. After a minute, the doctor grunts and leans back. "Well now…This is aura based."

At that, the family seems to jerk at that. Isabelle looks to Jaune, worried. "What do you mean?"

Ronald when hearing what the doctor said, freezes and thinks. "Wait a minute…Aura based? That's impossible. He's never had his aura unlocked…" Ronald looks to Jaune, the blonde haired boy still sniffling. He tried moving his arms, the heavy gauntlets stopping him from doing so. The aluminum foil around his feet had started to darken, Azure standing next to him and rubbing the tears from his face. Jaune looks up to Ronald, giving a small sniffle. "Jaune? Did you have someone unlock your aura?"

The question makes Jaune tilt his head. "What's *hic* aura?"

"That answers that question.." Azure mutters from the side, getting a small glare from Isabelle. Azure winces at that, wiping Jaunes face as she averts her gaze. "But how did it get unlocked?" Ronald questions, racking his mind for the question. The old doctor gives a small hum, brining out a scroll. The man flips it open, searching for something. "Aura can be unlocked by either another person, or during stressful events." The doctor nods, bringing the scroll close to Jaunes skin.

"Now then…Was anything different yesterday? Any nervousness? Visible discomfort?" The doctor asks, the family looking to each other. "No. Nothing was different." The doctor gives a small grunt at that, Jaune looking up with his blue eyes shining. "Can you remember anything my boy?"

Jaune takes a breath, voice coming out shaky. "Night…nightmare."

At that, the doctor raises an eyebrow. "You had a nightmare? Hmmm…" Isabelle frowns at that, looking to Ronald in confusion. "A nightmare? His aura unlocked due to a nightmare?" The thought of that was ludicrous to the mother and father. The daughters look around confused, a nurse walking into the room. She smiled at them, moving forward to talk to the doctor. He nods to the nurse.

"Mrs. Arc. The nurse will treat the burns on your back and front. As for the nightmare unlocking his aura; odder things have happened." The doctor explains, leaning back into the small office chair. "Aura is well documented to be rather erratic when it comes to 'unlocking'. Aura is like a door without a knob. You can't open it without either making a doorknob and key or kicking it open. It's possible whatever nightmare he had, was enough to force that 'door' open and let it go. Going by that hypothesis, the burning hands and feet must be apart of his semblance."

At that, Isabelle who had pulled her shirt over her head to allow the nurse to rub burn cream on the hand shaped burns, hisses. "So…his semblance manifested? Will he be okay?"

Ronald was also curious about this, leaning forward. The doctor loves forward, unclasping the gauntlets from Jaunes hands and forearms. Ronalds eyes widen. "Wait!" He warns, the doctor not listening. The gauntlets are slid off, the rooms occupants tensing. Jaunes hands are shown to the world, a deep red glow permeating from his skin. He flexs his fingers, the glow increasing as he moves them. The doctor gives a whistle at the heat coming off of his hands. The family takes the chance to study Jaunes hands.

His once peach colored skin was replaced by a deep red glow, the sight of it bringing up thoughts of a hot stove eye. "Holy…" Ronald whispers, getting closer. Azure who was next to Jaune, places her hand near his.

"Whoa! That's hot!" Her exclamation makes Isabelle scold the girl; the old doctor giving a slight chuckle. "Incredibly so. An exact temperature will be needed." At that, he brings up his scroll; the small machine giving a small hum. As the scroll does its job, the doctor looks to Jaune.

"Alright. Jaune…I need you to lift your hand in the air…." Jaune does as the doctor says, the doctor nodding. "Now then…I need you take every finger and touch them to your thumb. 1 at a time, starting from your pinky and ending on your pointer." The doctor gives an example, Jaune watching and nodding. The family watches Jaune do the little exercise, the boy failing the first few time before getting it down. The doctor smiles in happiness, motioning for Jaune to do it to the opposite hand. Jaunes does so, the sisters copying the exercise. After a few minutes of little exercises, the doctor unraveling the aluminum foil from Jaunes feet.

The doctor hums, the scroll giving a little ding as it was finished. Jaune takes this time to wipe away his own tears, ignoring the gasp of his family. "Jaune! Don't do that!" Saphron exclaims, moving forward to stop him.

He jerks in surprise, moving his hands from his eyes. To the shock of the family, he didn't have any burns from where he touched himself. "Answers that question." The doctor murmurs, looking down at his scroll.

"Well then…The scroll shows his hands and feet are fluctuating between the temperatures of 195 to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. That is about the temperature of a stove eye between low and medium settings. Not exactly cold huh…"

"Yeah.." The family mutters, Jaune finally calming down. Jeanne taking the time to walk over and give him a worried child smile. Jaune smiles back, the doctor turning around to speak to Isabelle and Ronald. "Well good news and bad news. The good news is that Jaune is going to be just fine. The heat around his hands and feet are apart of his semblance and are of no harm to him. His body temperature is higher than average, but that it to be expected. Keep his hands and feet covered in some kind of fire resistant material and invest in some fire retardant things in your home."

"And the bad news?" Saphron asks, moving her hands nervously. "The bad news? I cannot accurately say that his semblance will not evolve or spread across his body. The 'heat' on his hands and feet may never travel further than his hands and feet. It may travel far past that, and encompass his whole body. Semblances are tricky to predict and control. I can only make educated guesses until more knowledge is known. That and this event may impact him psychologically."

At that, the older members of the family tense and look to each other. "So…what do we need to do?"

"I want him here every Saturday for the foreseeable future. We will monitor the progression of his semblance and see if we can find a way to suppress it. You as his family can do a lot. Try to keep him calm, and see if you can help him rein it in. You're the huntsman family."

At that, Isabelle and Ronald look to each other. With nods, they agree with the doctor setting up future appointments. Azure, takes the discarded gauntlets and reattach them to Jaunes hands. The boy gives a small huff, annoyed with the gauntlets. Saphron walks over, taking Jeanne and Jaune by the hands. A nurse comes in with a roll of aluminum paper, the woman taking the time to wrap Jaunes feet. After it was wrapped, Jaune is picked up, Jeanne grabbing one of his gauntlet covered hands and squeezing it. Azure grabs Jaunes other unoccupied hand, Saphron doing the same with Jeanne. At that, the family give thanks to the doctor; exiting the hospital with silent frowns.

Jaune hadn't said a word until they reached home, the aluminum foil crinkling underneath as he walked away. The family look at him in sadness, Jeanne letting out a small whine. Rose and Saphron whisper in her ear to ease the young girls worries. Ronald ease their worries, following Jaune to the back of the manor; finding his young son sitting a the swingset they made. He was slowly rocking in the seat, arms barely able to move in the heavy gauntlets to grab the chains holding the seat to the metal bar. He takes a seat next to quiet son, the 2 simply swaying in the small seats.

"Dad…am I a freak?"

Ronald stills at that, looking at Jaune with a small measure of shock. "What? No! You're not a freak. This is simply your soul coming forth." Jaune sniffs a little, asking another question. "Can I hurt someone?" Ronald winces at that question, cursing in his mind. This was the one question he hoped to avoid for a little bit. Now comes the dilemma…should he lie to his son or tell him the truth?

"Yes. Yes you can." Was Ronalds blunt answer, Jaune stiffening. At that, Ronald feels a small stab to his heart; seeing new tears start to form in Jaunes eyes. He glances up, seeing Isabelle glare at him from one of the manors windows. The shiver that ran down his spine chilled him, and he sets forward to ease his sons worries and fears.

"But…I don't want to hurt anybody~~ What if I hurt mom? Or Jeanne? Rose? Azure? I don't want to hurt anyone~~!" Jaune lets out a little wail at the end, Ronald wincing. He wracks his mind for something to help, landing on Jaunes favorite saying.

"You want to be a hero don't you?"

At that, Jaunes crying slows down to a sniffle, Ronald smiling when his sons blue eyes land on his. Ronald takes the time to study Jaunes face, his skin had paled a little; the blue in his eyes being replaced with some light yellow and red lines. "A..a..a hero?" Jaune asks, Ronald nodding. "I-I-I can be a hero?"

"Yep. While your semblance may seem scary now, but with proper training; it could make you a great hero…"

At that, Jaune looks down at his covered hands and feet; slight awe in his eyes. Ronald smiles and leans down to his son. "So…Do you want to be a hero?"

The quiet chatter of the classroom filled a certain blonde brawler with boredom. She huffs, bringing out her scroll to look through. The door to the room is kicked open, the blonde-haired brawler looking up and smiling. Another blonde-haired girl enters the room, looking around frantically. She spies the brawler, moving forward quickly. "Yang!" The now named brawler, grins back. "Sup Jeanne! How's my favorite sister from another mister?"

"Pretty good! Just found out my twin is coming to signal." Jeanne says this with a large smile. At that, Yang raises an eyebrow at her fellow blonde. "Oh? So the coveted brother of our little saint is coming to Signal? What for?"

Jeanne gives Yang a glare for the 'coveted brother' part, sighing. "One of our younger sisters wants to come to Signal next year and Dad asked the Headmaster for a little tour. Jaunes coming to keep an eye on little Phos."

Yang smiles at that, taking in the names. Phos must be the younger sister, the name ringing a bell in the bombastic bombers head. "Phos is the one that's about the same age of Ruby yeah?" Jeanne gives a nod, Yang already planning a little play date for her younger sister. The classroom goes silent when the door is pushed open, their teacher for class walking in. Yang and Jeanne take a deep sigh, ready for the boring class to begin.

A few hours later

Yang and Jeanne smile to each other, the blondes putting their combat gear on. Yang smirks when the dull silver bracers slide down over her fists, the young teens checking each other. "You ready to smack in some faces?" Yangs excitement makes Jeanne giggle, the sword on her hip feeling heavy. She slides on silver gauntlets, the metal comfortable and weighty. The 2 walk out of the changing rooms, joining their classmates in preparation for combat class. Yang snickers when her drunken uncle walks in, groan escaping his lips.

"Alright you little brats. Today, you're going to be doing 1v1 battles. You know the rules; you get hit outside of the arena, you're out. You're aura gets in the red, you're out. You piss off an angry woman.."

A student answers from the back. "You're screwed?" Yang watches her uncle Qrow chuckle, giving a nod to the unnamed student. "Right. So…Who's first?"

No one gets the chance to answer, the door to the classroom being pushed open by a green blur. The class blink in confusion, staring at beaming green haired girl in front of them. She had bright green hair, so bright that some swore it sparkled. Her eyes matched her hair, a small face beaming at them with an awed grin. The small white dress she wore blows in an unseen wind, the girl looking around and landing on a smiling Jeanne. "Big Sis!" The girl screamed, darting forward and leaping at the girl. Jeanne catches the beaming child, bringing her in for a tight hug. "Phos! It's so good to see you!" Jeanne and Phos give small smiles to each other, the 2 girls nuzzling each other. "Aren't you getting a bit big to be held like a babe?" Jeanne teases. Phos shakes her head 'no' laughing when Jeanne tickles her sides.

Phos grins at Jeanne; the class giving small 'awws' at the girl. "Big brother is behind me!"

Jeanne and Yang look to the door, waiting for it to open. It doesn't, Qrow narrowing his eyes at Jeanne and Phos. "Oi, Arc? Why is the brat here?"

After that was said, the door is opened another figure walking in with a slow gait. The classroom tense slightly, glowing eyes narrowing on them all. Long hair flows behind the newest addition to the class, bright silver with flecks of blonde. The hair was tied into a large ponytail, a black metal crown/tiara holding the hair in place. A white striped dress shirt covers a lithe chest, the buttons hidden within the folds. The sleeves are cuffed at the middle of the forearms, the class looking at new figure in the class. An odd black girdle covers his stomach, the black material extending to his thighs. Small strings hang from his clothes, the fabric flowing behind him as he walked forward.

"That 'brat' as you called her, is our sister." The boy remarks, eyes narrowing on Qrow. The students swear the temperature in the room increases, the boy walking forward with metal clinking. Yang raises an eyebrow at the clinking noise, purple eyes tracing the noise to the source. Black armored greaves covers the boys legs, the metal moving seamlessly as he moved. She looks at the sharp edges of the metal, two large spikes extending from the top. An identical set of gauntlets cover his arms; the metal absorbing all light. The gauntlets reached to just past his elbow, Yang seeing black skin poking just past the metal before being covered by the cuffed shirt.

"Big brother!" "Jaune!"

Phos and Jeanne exclaim, Jeanne running down to greet her brother. The 2 girls reach the boy, the 3 siblings greeting each other with hugs. Phos was pressed between the 2, the green haired girl simply smiling and snuggling into the twins warmth.

"It is good to see you Jeanne." Jaune smiles at his twin, Jeanne returning the smile. Qrow takes the time to study Jaune, the mans red eyes glancing toward the boy. He's surprised when Jaunes glowing eyes meets his own. The 2 stare at each other, Jeanne glancing between the 2. She lets out a little 'oh', putting Phos down and stepping forward.

"Apologies Mr. Branwen! This is my brother Jaune. He's here to protect Phos as she explores the school as a new addition next year."

At that, Qrow gives a grunt and mumbles under his breath. Jeanne blinks when she feels something hot from behind her, turning to look to Jaune. He was glaring at Qrow, eyes resembling a pit of fire. "Branwen? You're name is…Branwen?" He growls, the whole class hearing it. At that, Jeanne stiffens looking at her twin and back to Qrow. "Oh crap…Knew I forgot something…"

"Yeah. My last name is Branwen. What's it to ya brat?" Qrows voice was gruff, filled with question. At the gruff mans admission, Jaune grits his teeth; the rooms temperature growing. Yang narrows her eyes at Jeannes brother. Did he some beef with her uncle?

"Are you of any relation to Raven Branwen and her little tribe?" Jaunes question makes Yang and Qrow stiffen. Qrow frowns, thoughts running rampant. 'What did you do Raven?' Yang had gone stiff, memories rushing through her mind. Of a woman with black hair and red eyes. Of a woman that abandoned her and never said why. At that, Yangs attention is solely on Jeannes brother.

"Raven is my sister. I left the tribe years ago. Their…metods didn't really agree with me…" Qrow answered, the rooms temperature dropping considerably. Jaunes glowing eyes stare into Qrows red, searching for any falsehoods. Jaune huffs, Jeanne letting out a sigh. "Good…That makes you slightly better than those trash."

That comment made Qrow and Yang growl lightly. Jaune hums to himself, yellow eyes staring at Qrow before darting to the student stands. His eyes land on Yang, narrowing on her face. She stares back with equal intensity, confidence waning a little when he doesn't flinch or look away. Phos takes this time to jump in front of the staring Jaune, Yang releasing the tension in her muscles when Jaune looks down to her.

"Big bro! Big bro! Are you going to fight?"

Jaune smiles at her, reaching down and patting her head with the black gauntlet. "Only if needed." He looks back to Qrow, staring at the older man. "Now then…Do you know of your sisters current location?"

He said the word sister with a healthy amount of vinegar, Qrow narrowing his eyes at the boy. "What's it to ya if I do?" Jaune gives a serene smile at that, the black metal on his arms and legs starting to let out small black embers. Qrow stares at the embers, eyes looking up at Jaunes eyes and hair; seeing them start to glow as well. "Your sister attacked my hometown a few years ago. She deemed those I care for as 'weak' and 'useless'. I retaliated by killing her precious members."

The cold callous way he admits this shakes Qrow, his eyes narrowing dangerously. Raven attacked the town of Ansel? And this…kid killed some of her members? He finds that hard to believe. The look in his eyes makes Jaune chuckle, the pale boy leaning forward. "Don't believe me?"

Jaune reaches behind him to grab something from a hidden pack, throwing out a wrapped item. Jeannes eyes widen, turning to her twin. "Jaune! You brought that with you?! You know how mom feels about that! What would you do if Phos or one of the others found it?"

Jaune ignores his twin, motioning with his armored hands to the wrapped bundle. "Go ahead Mr. Branwen…Look and see what's inside."

Qrow narrows his eyes at the wrapped item, feeling a sense of discomfort at its odd appearance. It was long and oddly shaped, bent in the middle like a boomerang. The classroom stares at the wrapped item with barely held interest, Yang ready to jump up and attack Jeannes brother. Jaune, sensing the discomfort, snickers. "It's not a bomb." Qrow, not really believing the boy, speaks. "What's in there?" Jaune simply stares ahead. "Something that belongs to your sister."

At that, Qrow stalks forward, bending down to unwrap the object. The material the object is wrapped in is waxy but smooth, Qrows mind trying to place the fabric. He unclasps the small belt holding the farbric to the item inside, unrolling it. He jerks back, a 'Fuck' coming out of his lips. The students in the room jerk back, many of them wretching from what was inside of the fabric. There, sitting morbidly, was a human arm; separated from its original owner. The arm was long and lithe, dainty hand curled in on itself. The arm was complete, being separated at the shoulder. The arm was covered in a black dress, the material disturbingly familiar. The flesh were the limb was ripped away had been burned, another burning handprint being found on the forearm.

Alongside the arm was a mask, the sight of it making Qrow gasp and Yang shake. The familiar mask had stared at them from their memories, the white mask reminiscent of a grimm belonged to a member of their family. Qrow bends down and picks it up, bringing it up into the light. The mask was as heavy, the inside oddly sticky. He turns it around, eyes tracing what looked to be burnt skin. It covered the left side, black hairs found inside the burnt material. Qrows mind does the math.

"Raven." He whispers, Jaune hearing him and nodding. "I slaughtered your sisters tribe members. She took something from me. I took something from her."

The classroom was still abuzz with disgust, Jeanne reprimanding her brother, and Phos simply looking on with a smile. Yang, however, was staring down at the dismembered arm and mask. Her mind was awash with shock and horror. Her eyes flash with memories, memories of the pictures she's seen. The picturesd of the woman who had abandoned her, the woman that had birthed her and never truly cared. And this, Jeannes twin brother, had not only met her but fought her and ripped her mask from her face and took her arm.

After a minute, the horror is replaced with anger. "You…You!"

"You bastard!" She yells, erupting from her seat and throwing a haymaker toward Jaunes face. Jaunes doesn't flinch, arms coming up to counter her punch. Her fist impacts his forearms, Yang expecting him to be launched backward from the force. Jaune didn't budge, eyes staring at her with annoyance; he disappears from her vision. Yangs eyes widen, feeling something grab the back of her neck.

The breath is pushed out from her lungs when an armored knee is slammed into her stomach, vomit following just behind the gasp. She is then slammed into the ground with enough force to crack the training rooms floor. Her face was pressed into the floor, arms and legs being pulled behind her back and restrained.

"You…you son of a bitch!" She screamed and struggled; pushing her aura into her muscles to break free. But no matter what she did the restraints stayed strong, Yang hearing her Uncle draw his weapon.

"Keep control of your students Mister Branwen." The bastards voice was cold and montone, Jeanne moving forward to stop the fight. "Jaune! Let her go right now."

"She attacked me Jeanne. I am within my rights to protect myself. And if she would've missed; you and Phos would've been hit. I will not allow that to happen."

Yang moves her head to glare at Jaune, the boy simply staring down at her. Her uncle had moved forward, seeing the mans red cape flutter behind him as he orders Jaune to let her go. Jaune simply stares at her, closing his eyes and letting the blonde haired brawler up. Yang jumps to her feet, spinning around to slug his face. Jaune doesn't move, smirking when her fist is stopped by Qrow. "Yang! Stand down!"

Yang barely hears her uncle, growling under her breath. "But uncle Qrow!" The man shakes his head. "I know firecracker but attacking him is of no help. If you want to fight him, do it while in the ring or via a spar."

During this little talk between the brawler and the old drunk, Jeanne was reprimanding Jaune. Phos was simply smiling next to them. Jaune was listening to Jeanne, but his eyes remained on the angry Yang. "Hmmm…" He stares a little more, eyes brightening in realization.

"Ah…You must be her daughter."

His remark makes Yang and Qrow stop their conversation. Jaune smiles when they turn to him, eyes glaring at him. "Yeah. You favor her quite a bit. Seems the attitude passed from her to you as well. Lets hope you're not as a horrid person as she."

And with that, Yang exploded and the fight began. She launched forward, hair alit with flames. Jaune stopped her once more, throwing her behind him with a throw. He grabs Jeanne and Phos, jumping away with the 2 of them under his arms. He lands in the arena seats, letting them down, jumping back into the arena to engage with Yang. She landed on the wall, bounding off with the strength to cause a small crater to form.

The 2 meet in the middle, fists impacting each other. Jaune black gauntlets let out a screech as it hits Yangs own gauntlets, the 2 powerhouses fighting for ground. Yang falters a little when Jaune opens his mouth wide, wider than he should be able to, a small ball of flames forming in front of it.

She gets away from him, Jaune letting the ball of flames go; the orb hitting the ground behind where Yang had dodged to. It erupts like a volcano, molten floor raining down on Yang. Qrow had taken the liberty to activate the sparring arenas defenses; a dust shield forming to stop the molten floor from hitting the other students. Yang screamed a little when one of the globs of molten floor hits her back, burning through the clothes and hitting her skin.

Her aura buffeted the damage, striking out with a kick that Jaune ducked under. He strikes back with a palm strike, Yang jerking to the side and finally landing a hit. Her fist finds purchase on Jaunes chest, a grin coming when Jaune lets out a cough. Her grin is quickly wiped from her face, when he retaliates with a kick to stomach., the sharp point of his armored shoe digging into her skin. She gives another punch, this one being blocked by his forearm and one of his fists being blocked by her own forearm.

Muscles tense and are filled with strength, Yang and Jaune darting away from each other. Yang takes a breath, giving a sweat covered grin to Jaune. He was staring at her in surprise, face unmarred by sweat or dust. His yellow eyes stare into her soul, flashing a bright blue for a second, before settling on a bright orange. She blinks when a waft of steam passes over the floor in front of her, eyes following it to the source.

Jaunes black gauntlets had an eerie red glow coming from underneath them, the steam wafting from the sectioned pieces. Jaune takes a boxing stance, the red glow moving through his arms and legs, deep dark lines crisscrossing his body. Steam escaped from his mouth as he breathed, and with nary a sound; he disappears. Yang tenses, ready for him to reappear somewhere. He does, their faces mere inches from each other.

If this was anything else, she would've blushed. But she didn't' her skin crackling as the air around them was superheated to the point of her skin to start flaking off. He gives her a soft smile, gauntleted hand appearing in front of her with a deadly glow.

"Good fight." He tells her, her world being replaced with a high pitched screech as the glow on his hand explodes violently. She feels her aura shatter, the heat and flames eating away at her clothes and body. She feels the wall behind her shatter from the force, and she sees Jaunes apologetic smile as her consciousness fades away.

'I hate your brother Jeanne.' Was Yangs last thought before darkness takes her.
