What do you do if your only family just changes?
Hiccup didn't know. It wasn't even a bad change. Stoick hadn't been a caring father, and then he suddenly was.
But the problem was Stoick didn't realise what he'd changed from. He didn't understand why Hiccup flinched when he raised his hands, or why he still hid and ran. He just didn't know.
And that hurt.
