Day 1
Arriving at the prison, James as a prisoner, and Madeleine as a nurse, their paths are separated for the moment. James is taken by the guards to the director's office.
-Asi que tu eres el nuevo prisionero! Cuál es tu nombre ?(So you're the new inmate! What's your name?)
- Mi nombre es marco diaz(My name is Marco Diaz!)
-¿Problemas con la police, con las drogas? (Problems with the police, with drugs?)
-No.
- Eres policia? (Are you a policeman?)
-No.
- ¿Entonces, porque estas aqui? (But then why are you here?)
-Maté ge... (I have killed...)
- Sabes algo, no me importa, sé una cosa, no puedes escapar de aquí. Llévenlo a la cellda! (You know something, I don't care, I know only one thing, you can't escape from here. Take him to the cell!)
James is led by two guards to his cell. All the prisoners who pass by him leave a bitter taste in his mouth. All eyes are on him, until he disappears
He is led through the opposite door by a guard and down a long corridor, the sound of handcuffs and his footsteps the only sounds breaking the silence. It seems an eternity before he approaches a door with a small, rectangular window, where James can hear what sounds like a hundred thousand deep, muffled voices calling out over one another.
With the sound of a key, the guard opened the door. The muffled voices became booming and loud, cursing.
The guard removes the shackles from his hands and feet, leaving James to inspect his cell, crowded with 4 other inmates, who were looking at him curiously, whispering all kinds of things that James doesn't hear.Immediately after doing the "tour of the cell", James sits down on the first bed of the room, which is empty and which he gives to understand that it is his.
As soon as he sits down to try the mattress, he is thrown on the floor by his 4 roommates.
- No No no no no NO! Esta es la cama de Armandito, nadie puede tocarla! (This is Armandito's bed, no one is allowed to touch it!)
- Well... y luego donde duermo? ( Then,where I sleep? )
- Si quieres puedes dormir conmigo hermosa (If you want, you can sleep with me, beautiful)
- Ninguna posibilidad ( No chance! )
- Entonces duerme en el suelo (Then sleep on the floor!)
- Mejor ( Better! )
As soon as he lay down on the floor, something sharp stabbed him in the back.
A shiver of fear tried to shake James' body and was stopped only by a hard-trained survival instinct. James tries to get up, but is knocked back to the floor by one of his teammates. He rolls onto his belly to remove the sharp object behind him, then spins again to face the prisoners in the room. He notices that he has pulled a pair of scissors out from behind and plunges it into the thigh of one of the men.
Then he moved to the arms of the one who was approaching him angrily, twisting his hand and breaking it from the elbow down. Then another man with black hair and tattoos, grabs his arm, kicking him in the injured leg, which made James moan in pain, before getting out of the individual's grip. Another, bald with a mustache, quickly hits him in the ribs and head, making James dizzy. He grabbed a stick found under the bed, telling the men to stay away from him. They start laughing and camp on him.
James feels that he is being hit from all sides. He is not knocked down at all, he keeps his guard up, trying to defend himself, as much as possible, but a club in the liver, several strong blows to the stomach and managing to be stabbed twice in the abdomen, leaves James breathless, collapsing on the cold floor of the prison cell.
Immediately after, two guards burst into the cell, beating the inmates to stop them. They are handcuffed and sent to another cell. Then James is placed by the two guards on a stretcher to the infirmary.
Due to the lack of training and the wounds suffered and not completely healed, he could not be in a very good physical condition, managing to take the beating.
James was hurt a lot in his years as a 00 agent. No matter how many times he got knocked down, he just got back up, well, after taking advantage of lying down as long as he could before he had to either. he gets up.
The point was though, James knew how to take a hit. He knew how to push through the pain until you can find the right moment to collapse. And he got used to unconventional methods of healing.
At the infirmary, Madeleine is already amazed how her first "patient" managed to appear, immediately after taking the nursing position.
She could tell that he had emotions, because he didn't know what kind of wounds she would face here and what type of people will meet. But her first "patient" is not a stranger, or at least she can't call him like that, because it's actually James. When she sees him on a stretcher next to two guards, Madeleine feels that she didn't do well to come here. Not because it's full of criminals and drug addicts, but of the simple fact that James had to be dragged in this shit, and now she has to worry from now on.
- Qué sucedió ? (What happened?) Madeleine asks, actually scared that James managed to beat himself up in less than an hour since he came here.
-Digamos que sus compañeros no son tan acogedores. (Let's say that his colleagues are not so welcoming) answer the two men who start to laugh , after leaving the stretcher at Madeleine's reach.
Madeleine takes a needle, some threads and scissors. She turns to James, who was unconscious and sitting on a hospital bed, rusty and dirty.
"come on, Madeleine, you can do it, you sewed in practice classes when you were at university and it wasn't difficult"
She disinfected the wound area, and then took the needle to the lower abdomen where she pinched the skin in such a way that she could remove the thread on the other side. Positioning the needle, she passed it on the other side and repeated the process, finishing the first stitch. She took a cloth, wiping the remaining blood from the skin, then placing a bandage. Then she repeated the process for the second stabbing, finally wiping the blood and covering the wound with a bandage.
Madeleine finds a blanket, placing it over James so he won't be cold, waiting for him to wake up.
• in 2 hours
James opens his eyes, blinking several times, at the sight of the bright light from the infirmary.
- Hey, James, dear...um...Bond, are you okay?
James stood up, leaning on the edge of the bed.
-Where am I ? James asked looking around the infirmary lounge.
- You are in the infirmary, you were stabbed by your roommates, don't you remember?
-No. What did you say your name was?
-Madeleine...Madeleine Swann.
-Did you stay here until I woke up,Madeleine ?
- Yes, that's all I have to do, I'm a "doctor" now, remember.
-Did you manage to treat my wounds?
- Yes, it's not a big deal.
- Then..., thanks.
- With pleasure!
For a few seconds there is total silence in the room, the two looking at each other without realizing it.
- Um...yes, do you have a coat here, because it's a bit cold?
- Oh, I was going to forget, I washed your shirt, it was full of blood, so I washed it. Here you go.
-Thanks.
James grabbed the shirt, trying to take it.
-Do you need help ?
- No, I can...
Madeleine bends down to help him.
He pulls one hand into his shirt, and then the other. James whimpers a little, when he raises his arms because of the wound. The two remain close in eye contact, until another patient enters the door.
- Traje a alguien más, señorita, y tenemos que llevarlo! (I brought someone else, miss, and we have to take him!)
The two distance themselves instinctively, looking at each other for the last time, before James is taken back to his cell.
-Vuélvete a mí mocoso! ( Turn to me you fool! ) says the guard untying his handcuffs and closing the cell door.
In the evening, James does not want to leave the cell, to go to eat, so he staying in bed and looking at the walls until he fell asleep.
• The next day
James couldn't sleep all night. His thoughts were on the beautiful nurse who helps him in the mission and how he should save Nomi. Although he expected that he would not be well received by his roommates, he did not think that he would have a fight in less than 12 hours after his arrival here. But it's still good, because now the room is only his.
Although he didn't know what time it was, according to the light outside, something told him that it was getting close to breakfast time and he really wanted it to be, because he was hungry. He got up from the bed, knocking on the metal of the door. A guard appears in front of him:
-Qué quieres? ( What do you want! )
-¿Cuándo puedo salir de la cellda cuando quiera? (When can I get out of the cell when I want?) -
No se permite hasta que el jefe te deje ir. (You are not allowed to leave until the boss lets you go)
-Entonces tendré que hablar con el jefe (Then I will have to talk to the boss)
-Te recibe solo con cita previa (He only receives you by appointment)
-¡Entonces quiero una cita! ( Then I want an appointment! )
-Esta resuelto! (Solve)
-Muy bueno (Very good!)
James goes back to bed lost in thought again.
The cell had only one bed, now that James lived alone in it, with an old and rusty sink and an attempt at a window. I think they actually broke two bricks from the wall and welded two iron bars in their place.
Chills ran down his spine, his head felt as if it was on fire, and his abdomen and stomach hurt terribly. His ears pricked up at every movement. He heard the cell door to his right slowly open, and footsteps echoed down the hall. As he got closer, he realized that there were several footsteps, by at least two people. James opened one eye as they passed them. Two pairs of wobbly legs passed under the dim light in disturbingly slow motion, barely making a sound. A disgusting smell entered his nostrils. Alcohol. They were drunk. He wondered where they got the drink.
His heart leapt into his throat as more creaks and cracks echoed through the cell block. No matter what these prisoners were doing, he couldn't see or hear, and that made it worse. He saw doors opening, then shadowy figures leaving the rooms and passing others in the hallway. Yet, strangely, no one ever spoke. It was like a pack of silent wolves, waiting to hunt their next prey in the darkness that inhabits this place.
Over time, the halls became more crowded. More people passed his cell, already at a faster pace than the first two. More sounds were passing, such as the lighting of lighters and the inhaling of what James assumed were cigarettes due to the distinctive smell. The only atmosphere that never came up was that of discussion.
After what felt like an eternity of stress and stretching of all the senses, a scream tore through the silence. Physically surprised, James gets up, putting his ear to the neighboring wall, to try to listen to what is happening in the next room.
The scream came from the cell to his left. The people in the hallway looked as alarmed as he did as he heard them going back to their cells. as soon as possible. From said room came shouts, which seemed to come from two people talking to each other. He couldn't make out what they were arguing about, but when James heard strangled breaths and muffled words, he was sure
someone was going to die.
Another shout rang out from the end of the corridor. That fight must have woken up the guards. Two pairs of legs run across the front of his cell, coming from the left, which makes James think they are the two men from the opposite cell.
The door opened. The guard entered, grabbing James by the collar of his shirt, making him stand up.
-¡Muévelo! (Move!)
James obeys, stepping out of the cell with his arms crossed, follow the guard through the prison hallways. He is taken through a door that separates the cells from the prison yard, and then from the kitchen and infirmary. He looked out the window of the infirmary, seeing Madeleine talking to a man, most likely a patient. As long as he was not in danger, he was fine.
In the end, he reaches a large room, which seemed to be a garage, followed by some stairs that lead to the director's office. James is welcomed inside by a woman who seems to be the director's personal assistant.
-¡Por favor tome asiento! El director llegará en cualquier momento. (Please, take a seat. The director will arrive at any moment!)
James sits on the chair, inspecting the things in the office. It doesn't look like the office of the president of America, but it's big enough for a hypocrite like this.
On the stairs, he hears a thick voice, which seems to be the director's. The door is opened by two men, who I think are his bodyguards, and behind them is the director.
-Lo siento por hacerte esperar (Sorry for making you wait)
-No hay problema (It's not a problem)
-Escuché que quieres hablar conmigo!? (I heard you want to talk to me!?)
-Sí, quiero saber cuando puedo salir de la celda (Yes, I want to know when I can leave the cell)
-A juzgar por el hecho de que no te hiciste amigo de tus compañeros de cuarto y peleaste con ellos, te quedarás there por un tiempo! (Judging by the fact that you don't get along with your roommates and you fought with them, you will stay for a while)
-¿Y si quiero salir ahora? (And if I want to leave now?)
The director starts to laugh, approaching James.
-No sé de dónde viene, Señor Díaz, Pero mientras estés aquí, solo haz lo que te digo. (I don't know where you're coming from, Mr. Diaz, but as long as you stay here, you're just doing what I want. )
James looked down, smiling wryly.
- Otras preguntas ? ( Other questions? ) -
-No!
-Luego puedes irte, llevarlo de regreso a la cella y para que que que claro, podrás salir de la cella en 2 días. ( Then you can leave, take him back to the cell and just to be clear, you will be able to leave the cell in 2 days. )
James is lifted from his chair by the director's gorillas and taken to the cafeteria to have breakfast. Men turned their eyes to James, until he sit down at a table. Because he wanted to stay here as little as possible, he tried not to notice anyone, going nicely to get his food.
He sits at the table eating what looks best on the plate. Throughout the canteen, he could clearly analyze which fellow inmates were behaving well or badly.
At the next table, two muscular guys were arguing on a chair. Not wanting to get into trouble, he continued to eat, trying not to look at the two inmates who were starting a fight on a seat.
It wasn't until a moment later that James heard the sound of skin making contact with the edge of the table. James looked up to see the man wiping his nose as he walked back towards his attacker, hearing the guards shout, threatening the men to stop fighting. Immediately after the guards appear, several inmates stand up, grabbing the food trays and starting to brutally hit the guards. James makes himself small, sneaking through the inmates to get out of the canteen. Seeing that it is the right time to discover where Nomi is being held, he makes his way into the prison yard, reaching an underground tunnel. He analyzes to see if he sees movement, until he hears some screams, which seem to be of a woman and some voices screaming at her. James is quiet, hiding behind a curb, waiting for the men to leave.
After seeing their figure, passing by him, he runs into the room where the woman is. He entered the room, making sure that there was no one else.
He notice several cells in which there are several women. James can see the dried and remaining blood on their wrists and their bruised eyes. He passes along each cell trying to spot Nomi, whom he finds only in the last cell.
-Hey, Nomi!
-James...James?! What are you doing here ?
- I came to save you.
- No, leave, if they find you here they will torture you until they find out why you are here. Bond you must run. James notices the bruises and burns on her cheeks.
- Do you stay here all day?
- Yes, they bring us food only if we do our work.
-What work ? Suddenly James hears footsteps coming towards him.
- Hey, ¿quién está ahí? ( Hey, who's there? ) - James, I told you to run, whatever it is, don't tell them that you came to save me or that you're under cover... Nomi backs away, crawling under the bed, to the sight of the men surrounding James. James turns with his hands behind his head, slowly towards them, before everything turns black around him.
