Tripp didn't know how long they sat there, just holding hands. At some point T'Pol put her head on his shoulder. There were no need for words for them. They said everything with their body language, like I'm here for you and we can get through this. They took this time to heal their grief. They had lost a daughter that they only got to know for a few days.
In Tripp's heart he knew that they were a family for those couple of days. He didn't want to lose T'Pol, but he has a feeling that it could happen. He knew that she was Vulcan, but she kept to her feelings too much. He would show her that he needed her and that they could be a family again.
Tripp looked in her face to see that she was sleeping on his shoulder. He knew that he should move her to her bed, but he stared at her beautiful face. He traced a finger along her eyebrows to her eyes, down her nose, around her lips, and ended at her chin. She didn't move a muscle. Tripp knew in his heart that this was the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his days with. He loved her so much it hurt. He knew that it was a going to take some time for them to be happy, but he wasn't going to walk away from her even if she tried to walk away from him. He would follow her to the ends of the universe.
T'Pol let out a sigh and settle her head into his shoulder. Tripp smiled, he knew that he should move her to the bed and leave her alone for the night. They could talk about them tomorrow or the next day, but he wasn't going let it go forever.
He moved her to one side of the bed and got up. He went to through her drawers to find her pajamas. He set them on the bed next to her. "Come on, love," He helped her stand. "Let's get you changed."
T'Pol opened one eye and lifted her arms up. Tripp sighed and helped her get out of her clothes. He tried not to look below her head. He placed her clothes on her desk chair before grabbing her top and putting it over her head. He helped her place her arms in the arms holes and settle the shirt on her body. He took the pants next and bent down. He glanced up at T'Pol to see her looking down at him with half closed eyes. He didn't know if he could help her. "Lift your leg," He didn't know how he got it out. She placed her leg in the hole. Tripp tried to swallow pass the lump in his throat. "The other leg," T'Pol put the other leg in. Tripp pulled her pants up. He took a breath because he was close to her lips. He could reach out and kiss her if he so wanted. She looked at him and he could see that she wanted it too.
He reached behind her and pulled her blanket back. "Climb in," He said in a quiet voice. After T'Pol climbed in, Tripp pulled the blanket over her. She gave him a look. He only smiled. "I was raised to a gentleman," Tripp leaned and kissed her on the forehead.
He turned to leave and was headed for the door when he heard. "Stay," He turned back around and unzipped his uniform as he headed for the bed. He placed his uniform on her desk. He climbed in bed as she moved over. He placed an arm around her. He closed his eyes and with one final thought...
He had a feeling this was forever.
