Authors Note - I used to write fanfics when I was 15 and honestly they kinda make me cringe. I've decided to try again though so let me know what you think!

Prologue

Tap tap tap. I could hear the quiet drips of a leaky tap somewhere. I opened my eyes. It was dark. My eyes adjusted to darkness, and I could see the corners of the small room I was in. The floor was damp. There were no windows. A large door in the corner of the room was my only hint that there was an exit.

I tried to stand up, but was quickly yanked back with the clanging of metal. Chains. What had happened? Where was I? I racked my brain, trying to remember anything. I had been driving. I remembered that. A large rock in the road. Swerving. I had crashed. I could remember watching the landscape spinning. Something wet was on my lip. Blood.

I looked down on myself. I could just make out the large rip in my jeans. I could feel the burn in my thigh. I tried to move my legs, but they too were restrained.

Step step step. Someone was coming. The door creaked open. A short figure stepped into the room.

"Welcome home Serana" a female voice said.

The woman flashed in front of me, and before I could blink, the fire started.

Bella POV

"I'm going hunting love, I'll see you in a few days." Edward walked out the door before I could say anything. I was confused. This was his third hunting trip in two weeks. He had been acting distant lately. At first I thought Alice had seen something, but she assured me it was nothing when I asked her. I frowned towards the doorway. I heard Alice speak to Jasper before she ran after Edward. I turned and watched Jasper exit their room.

"Somethings up with them." I told him. I then noticed the venom pooling in his eyes.

"What's going on Jasper?" He looked at me, and I could see the heartbreak in his eyes. He passed me a package. Divorce papers.

"Oh Jasper.." I didn't know what to say. I could feel the sorrow building in my stomach. Is this why Edward was being distant? The frequent hunting trips? Did he know this was going to happen? Before anyone could stop me, I dropped the envelope and ran after Edward and Alice. If Edward knew, I didn't want him to be alone in comforting Alice. She should have told me though, I was her best friend, her sister. I'm sure she has her reasons for not telling me.

I followed their scents to a clearing. I could hear Alice moaning. She must be so upset. I was nearly into the clearing when I saw it. Those weren't moans of sadness. I could feel myself dropping to my knees, but like a train accident, I couldn't look away. I heard the rustling behind me and could feel myself being picked up, but it didn't feel real; nothing did.

My best friend. My husband. Why. Why would they do that. I could feel my own venom pooling in my eyes, but could do nothing but stare into the trees above me. Jasper placed me on the couch and sat next to me, holding me with his own tears that would never fall.
