Gengar was talking to this cute Evee in his room on his computer. So sweet, the best. Cute! His heart did a spectacular flip and flopped warmly as it was beating inside his chest. He was so enamored with this Evee's lovely messages on the screen that he nearly jumped up when his trainer knocked on the door. He took another quick glance at the Evee picture before powering down the technology. He could sense that's what this conversation was going to be about.

"Gen, time for bed, okay!" The trainer opened the door without waiting for an answer. Gengar tried not to look annoyed at that, and it helped that the trainer did not exactly enter the room in the first place. They smiled down at their Pokémon protege affectionately and sighed. Pikachu was right behind them and looked alert. Gengar referred to him as the 'Butler' of the house for the trainer. He was always making sure the rest of them didn't cause the trainer any unnecessary grief or trouble.

"Okay, I was just getting ready!" Gen said happily; thinking about Evee and how they promised to meet at the park tomorrow. Hopefully, he could go ALONE. He leaned a bit to the side and gazed pointedly in Pikachu's direction. Pikachu gazed back with a great, tremendous sense of duty in his mind. Gen tried not to roll his eyes at the brainwashed little rat.

"Hey...umm... Can I go to the park tomorrow?" Gengar felt flustered suddenly and fidgeted a bit with his hands. He was very nervous, anxious, and happy. However, there was a sense of dread at his trainer's answer. The trainer coughed, pulling Gengar away from his thoughts of anticipation and impending disaster.

"You may!" The trainer smirked like they already knew. Gengar froze, but was secretly cheering. But...?

"Pikachu goes with you, that's my only condition~" They glanced at the Pikachu and patted its head. Gen felt a little furious and tried not to pout or roll his eyes.

It didn't matter, because he was secretly plotting to ditch the warden in a sense.

"That's fair, thank you!" He barely said 'fair' without choking in the dang word. Though he was happy he could go.

"Pikachu!" Pikachu responded. Of course, he didn't have a problem with that!

You damn little bug, stay out of my business! Gengar was pleased with this thought as he sneered at the other Pokémon when the trainer turned his back. Pikachu blinked at him before leaving. Smug as hell no doubt.

Gengar, instead, hummed blissfully as he crawled into bed. Tomorrow he would go meet Evee at the park as planned. Pikachu would be preoccupied in some other affair.

He dreamt of the cute, adorable Evee and them running from the real 'problem'. Pikachu of course!

...Zzz!

At Pokemon Park the day after.

"Have a good day!" The trainer waved as they threw the two Poke balls into the air. Gengar blinked in the early morning light and glared at Pikachu looking expectantly towards him to make a move. Gen smiled at the trainer and went off to play with the others-mostly what he considered would maybe be his significant other. He ran as fast as hell; circling the sand trap and going under the slide.

"Pika! Pik!" Pikachu called but Gengar chuckled as the voice started to fade in the distance. Dumb mouse must've gotten lost. Good! This park was also a good obstacle/training area. No doubt the trainer was sitting down on a bench and trying to keep track of the two. He stopped short when he heard a light giggle and saw a smug Clefairy. Another pest.

"What?!" Gengar barked; simply irritated by all the bodyguards and giggly airheads presenting themselves as obstacles in his day. Actually, Clefairy was the first ditz of the day.

"Looking for an Evee perhaps~" Clefairy crossed their arms and looked blissful.

"How-"

Plop!

Clefairy charged and tackled Gengar onto his side. They laughed.

"Because I tricked you, I'm the 'Evee'!" Clefairy looked so annoyingly happy that Gengar wanted to barf. That, and getting tackled kinda hurt.

"You little, I'll kill you!" As Gengar rose up from the dirt, Clefairy was already half-way through the wooded area up ahead. After that, they'd be out of the 'training' area, and half-way back to being a free Pokémon. Gengar wanted to stuff that smug being into a Poke Ball.

Gengar started to chase the Clefairy through the path and down a hill. The trees covered them both so Pikachu couldn't identify him. He started to hear Pikachu's shrill little squeak, chastising him wherever he might have been. Suddenly, he was tackled for the second time, and some unfortunate soul was about to pay for it. He kicked the rat off of him. Dang, he was fast. Pretty sneaky as well because Gengar had no idea of how close he actually was.

"Clefairy, you're dead!" He yelled to nothing but the trees and a beautiful crisp gust of wind that sent the leaves rustling.

"What are you doing, weren't you just gonna play and train together?" The trainer spoke calmly behind the two after Pikachu bounced back and practically sat on top of the Gengar's back to keep him still. Gengar shoved a hand at him. The trainer must've also been sneaking about.

"Well, I guess now I will. Let's fight, okay, Pikachu!" Gengar said as he threw the poor Pikachu to the side. Pikachu glared back and got ready, but Gengar turned and ran away some more.

"Gen!" The overbearing trainer called but Gengar was running at full force, with one goal in mind: To kill a catfishing Clefairy!
