Okay. I wrote this for a thread thingy, and I figured, well, I'll put it up here. Sort of to make up for my delays in my other stories! REALLY SORRY ABOUT THOSE DELAYS! I have reasons! Trying to update! Here's the one-shot;
I sat in my room, a single beam of light falling at my feet. It was past noon and I hadn't left the sanctuary of my bed. Not one of the Titans had even come to look for me. They really didn't care.
Oh, sure, Beast Boy said that he did, but I knew the truth. They thought of me as a teammate, but I wasn't really a friend. Maybe they even thought of me as a burden, a emotionless, kindles, empty power source.
NO! That… that was her talking. My Rage.
"Raven! Come on! Can't you hear the alarm?!" Beast Boy shouted outside my door. Waiting until I heard his feet running away, I slid out of bed. Grabbing my cape, I fastened it as I flew out the door.
LATER
"Boo-yah baby!" Cyborg cheered as we entered the Tower. The others celebrated, remembering the battle that had just taken place. Inwardly, I was celebrating with them. But outward, I was a cold statue.
"Come on Raven! We're gonna go play volleyball!" Beast Boy called. I hesitated a moment. I wanted to play, I really did, but I couldn't. I couldn't have any fun, show any emotions. The wanted 'yes' was on my tongue, but I quickly replaced it with my well worn out excuse.
"I have to meditate." With a swish of my cloak, I was out in the hall. But before the door could completely close, I heard Beast Boy say it.
"Why does she have to be so creepy?!!! Why can't she even smile?!!!"
I hurried to my room.
Grabbing my mirror, I examined what I saw. Pale, gray skin, light lavender hair, indigo eyes, wide with years of uncried tears.
Sitting on my bed, I looked around. My room was dark. My face was a mask. My friends were gone. I was alone.
Hearing screams and thumps above me. Looking up, I remembered al my friends.
'Maybe… maybe Beast Boy was right. Maybe they do care.'
A black shadow covered me as I reappeared on the roof. 'Maybe… maybe I can show them I care, even if a little bit.'
"Raven!" Beast boy cried when he noticed. "Did you finish? Are you gonna play?" I smiled slightly at their eager faces.
"I'll be referee."
Grinning, they continued to play as I watched. So maybe I couldn't show any emotions. So maybe I couldn't show them I love them in return. They were still my friends. And I'm not alone.
"Raven? Hallllo? Raeeeven?" Snapped out of my thoughts, I looked up to a green face.
"What?"
"So, did that last point count?" Beast Boy and Cyborg looked so eager and hopeful. Star looked confused and Robin was furiously shaking his head. Replaying the last few seconds in my head, I nodded.
"Point"
"Wahoo!" Beast Boy cheered. "GO Raven!!"
I smiled.
