"Is this your card?" Roy asked while taking another one out of the deck.
"No…" F Corrin replies.
"Shoot!" Roy exclaims and tosses the card before trying to decide which card to pull next. After the trip to the theater several others noticed the newcomer and decided to introduce themselves. But then as more and more smashers passed by and saw a crowd it sparked curiosity. As always whenever a crowd forms in the mansion everyone knows it's because something new and exciting was happening, and whenever something out of the norm happens it gets people more excited. That and also it was the first times one of the newcomers showed up and didn't start beating the crap out of everyone and blowing stuff up. So the rumors of the newcomer that was half dragon started spreading and that got even more smashers racing towards the cafeteria where the newcomer was meeting everyone. There's never been a half dragon before, or half anything for that matter, so it was exciting for most of the residents to know what that would look like. Some said she might have cool leathery wings on her back, others thought she might have claws and a tail, while some more absurd ones thought she might be like a mermaid, except instead of a fish half it was a dragon half, which sparked a debate about which half was dragon and human. But everyone was shocked and dead wrong when they saw she just looked like a normal human girl. Not even the red eyes made her stand out because of Dark Link and Dark Pit.
"Hey check this out, it's an automatic slingshot! It shoots the pebbles for you!" Toon Link clambers on top of the table and drops his little contraption in front of the newcomer to see.
"Oooh that looks cool!" She says while she picked it up and looked at it, even though it just looked like a poorly made miniature crossbow.
"Right!" Toon Link says while hopping in place excitedly.
"Iiiiiiiiiiis… This your card?" Roy pulls out another card to show her.
No, sorry…" She replies while slightly shaking her head, making him groan and toss it aside. Despite her looking quite normal, something else made the crowd stick around. After finding out she'd been cooped up in her home all her life and hasn't seen much of the outside world, everyone was running back and forth all over the mansion showing her things they were proud of. So since she's practically the only one around who would give a reaction, everyone else would look at the things and just go 'cool' and go about their day. There was finally someone else who was as excited about all the little things smashers were proud of themselves for but no-one else shared their enthusiasm, however not the newcomer as they were all so new to her. From homemade contraptions, to video game high scores, and mundane personal achievements, to Roy showing off his very poor magic skills he's been trying since he saw a commercial for a magic kit and bought it. It claimed that anyone could become a master illusionist in a week and it's been a month and the most impressive thing he's done is make doves come out of a toilet, even though it was supposed to be a hat.
"Check out my bug collection!" Lucas drops the bucket next to her. Normally no-one liked Lucas's bug collections, except the other kids but Toon would put them in Links food every time so he had to go look for more so he stopped showing them altogether. And it wasn't any old bug either; it was actually beetles of all shapes and sizes. A hobby he picked up from spending time with Vill, and sometimes the other villager, Jill.
"Ooooooh!" F Corrin says while reaching her hand in the bucket and petting the things. While normally everyone would reel back and or run away screaming in some cases whenever Lucas tried to show off his bugs, the newcomer seemed as fascinated by the things as he was. It seemed like everyone was eager to make a new friend that was easily impressed and like all their weird hobbies and things no-one else did.
"Check out-a my toenail!" Wario slams one of his big stinky feet on the table with an overgrown toenail. "I'm-a going for-a the new record, currently held by that-a Link fellow." He adds while Link looks around nodding at everyone with a big smile on his face. It wasn't an easy record to break, mainly since Zelda kept trying to clip it off while he slept. Master Hand a while back decided to start a mansion record board where smashers craziest accomplishments were put up on display for all to see. He mainly did so hoping it would keep the smashers distracted and he'd have less headaches. But when all the mundane records were set people started turning to the extreme ones and Master Hand had to tone down the crazy with a rulebook. Especially after Dark Pit set the record for biggest wedgie by hanging Pit off the roof by his undergarments. After Master Hand made the rules everyone got bored of it and quickly moved on shortly after. Now if anyone made a new record everyone just grunted and moved on, unlike before where there were huge freakouts.
"Little weird," She says while prodding the thing with a pen, something Shulk showed off because his pen can change between ten different colors of ink with just a click.
"Is this your card?" Roy pulled out another card and showed it to her.
"Yes that's it! How'd you know?" She replied while clapping rapidly.
"Magic!" Roy claimed while he made the rest of the deck disappear, by sneakily placing them in his other hand and pocketing them. While normally a magician would pull the card out on the first try Roy didn't bother telling her that, only that he could guess her card.
"Ooooooh!" She replies while staring at his empty hand and looking it over.
"What's wrong with you?" King Dedede asked the Koopa King next to him who kept staring weirdly at the newcomer, before rubbing his eyes really hard, shaking his head, or sometimes just outright slapping himself across the face.
"Dude!" He replies while gripping the large penguin by his robe, "I could've sworn that girl was a man earlier!" He states while still staring hard at the newcomer wondering if there was something off with his eyes.
"Check this out, I made an easier way to drink orange juice!" Ness shoves his way through the crowd while taking an orange out of his pocket. He sticks a straw in it and shows it off to the crowd before handing it over to the newcomer. She however just looked at it funny.
"Neat…" She replies while looking it over.
"Oh yeah that's a fruit, and that thing sticking out of it is a straw, it makes drinking more fun, watch!" Ness adds while taking back the orange and then begins sucking on the straw for the juice. Except nothing was coming out of it prompting him to suck in harder until he turned red in the face. Before long he passed out from lack of air and fell off the table, which opened up the slot for the next person in line to show off.
"Check this out! I can rotate my entire body!" Mega Man climbs up on the table and starts twisting and turning in all kinds of ways that wouldn't be humanly possible.
"That's insane!" She replies in amazement.
"Check this out, I can move things with my mind!" Ness climbs back on to the table and begins making the orange float around.
"Oooooooh!" F Corrin replies while watching the floating fruit.
"Pfft" Toon said and waved him off.
"Oh yeah check this out!" Ike says rolling up his sleeves and leaning down towards the booth they were all gathered around. He rips it off the floor and lifts it along with the newcomer up off the ground.
"IKE!" Peach yells from the back, "What did I tell you about destroying my cafeteria?!" She shouts angrily. Ike then placed the booth down and struck a pose.
"Guns!" He says before kissing his bicep.
"Morelikedrugs…" Roy mumbles under his breath.
"What?"
"Nothing…"
Ryu then walks through the crowd and grabs King Dedede by his robe and hoists him over his head. "What are you doing!?" Dedede shouts out startled, "unhand me at once you cretin!" He demands, Ryu then walks over and pushes his way through the crowd.
"He's heavier than he looks" Ryu states before spinning the large king in one hand like a basketball. F Corrin only stared wide eyed watching the large king spin.
"Pfft!" Captain Falcon scoffed and pushed his way through the crowd, before picking up Ryu who was still holding Dedede.
"Three can play in that game!" Ike rushed over and picked up Falcon, who was holding Ryu, who was still spinning Dedede perfectly in one hand.
"Alright, alright, but nobody has anything on this!" Roy runs towards the back of the crowd while rubbing his hands. He then places his hands around Bowser's shell, who was still busy staring hard at the newcomer with a perplexed look on his face. He tried to lift the Koopa King and unfortunately for Roy he didn't budge. There was an unspoken rule in the mansion stating 'don't try to show off using Bowser' and for good reason too, no one succeeds and they end up looking foolish. Outside of matches because there is no even playing field Bowser just weighs way too much to be able to pick up. Luckily for Roy though no one paid him any mind and kept their focus on wowing the newcomer. He just awkwardly cleared his throat and gave Bowser a pat on the back while walking away with his dignity intact.
"Maybe it was the angle…" Bowser mumbles while tilting his head to the side and squinting.
Link showed off his rare rupee collection he used to love bragging about. Peach showed off her pan collection with indents of all the poor souls she used them on, which came in handy when making birthday cakes. Ganondorf showed off his blueprints for his new fortress idea he was going to construct in the ashes of Hyrule, after he first completed his plans to kill Link and Zelda and get the triforce. Shulk showed off his future prediction skills, which everyone grew tired of him bragging about after the first week he started. Sonic got back into his Brawl hype by once again impressing someone with his speed, which everyone got tired of in Brawl. Charizard showed off his flame throwing skills, which involved him doing a lot of neat tricks with his fire. Mega Man began showing off his gadgets, which everyone grew tired of in the first week as well. Toon Link showed off his boat in a bottle. Captain Falcon bragged about his racing skills, with video evidence of course. Ness showed off his intense yo-yo skills that still remained unmatched. Kirby showed off his drawings and paintings, which really wasn't necessary since everyone still praised him because he's Kirby. Although he always liked to feel included, and it was nice to get praised by someone new. Luigi showed off his impressive jumping skills. Fox showed off his skills with a blaster by shooting empty bottles across the room, with a toy blaster otherwise MH would've been grumpy. Lucario showed off his aura powers. Yoshi showed off his tongue grabbing skills by reaching fruit from difficult places. Pit showed off his archery skills shooting targets across the room. Rosalina showed off her Luma's, which was another thing people grew tired of hearing about. Palutena showed off her dancing however because of the way she went about it, which involved her staff, it just caused a very awkward situation. Bowser Jr showed off his clown car and all the neat or unneat little features it had. Jill showed off her butterfly collection, along with Vill since they mainly catched them together. Alph and Olimar showed off their journal entries of all the fascinating creatures they 'discovered' in the back yard and surrounding forest. Wario showed off a lot of the golden accessories he's acquired over the years of his plundering. Pac-Man showed off his hedge maze score, as in the number of times he's been able to traverse it without issue, which is impressive considering every day the maze magically changes shape. Mr Game and Watch showed off all his crazy skills, from juggling torches to cooking. Donkey Kong showed off pictures of his secret banana horde, which is rumored to be a secret room he purchased from Master Hand sometime last tournament, after Bowser kept stealing it. Lucas did tricks with his pocket snake he's always carrying around. Sheik showed off by disappearing in a puff of smoke. Greninja showed off her use of water torrents, and making little ninja stars out of it. Ike showed off by doing tricks with his sword, bragging about how he holds it with one hand, which also stopped being an impressive thing in Brawl. Little Mac showed off by knocking a punching bag through the ceiling with his K.O. Meta Knight showed off his swordsmanship, which everyone claims he got a little rusty at since Brawl. Mewtwo freaked her out a little by convincing her she was going insane and hearing voices in her head, not really a brag but he was also bored and nobody fell for it anymore, until now. Icce and Snow bragged about all the wonders and benefits about partaking in yoga daily. Jigglypuff wanted to show off her singing but she just put everyone to sleep, then welcomed the newcomer to her tradition of drawing on their faces by writing 'Dork' in big bright letters on her forehead. R.O.B. Tried doing a dance but he just looked like he was having a malfunction, or 'robot seizure' as some called it. Pikachu did a neat trick with some lightbulbs, which he hadn't done since Melee. Falco bragged about his piloting skills, with video evidence of course. Diddy showed off his jetpack and peanut pop guns. Dedede bragged about his servants and all the things they can do, which really wasn't much to brag about, just showed how lazy he was and also how much of an ass. Roy showed off his blazing blade and all the neat fire tricks he could do with it, which is something everyone quickly grew tired of in Melee since he kept setting things on fire. Ryu of course came back to show off his Hadouken, which also lost its cool a while back, considering a huge group of disappointed smashers learned they couldn't do it.
Zelda, Mario, Samus and Marth however were off to the side discussing how the newcomers were settling in. Despite the other one having not been seen in a while, along with his tour guides.
"Well I think I scrubbed most of it off" Marth said while running a damp towel down his face.
"Yeah, congratulations Marth you upgraded from girly to irly." Samus states sarcastically. Although she had manly, scribbled across her face ironically.
"I thought we had confiscated all of Jigglypuffs' markers? Or at the very least the permanent ones!" Marth adds as he continues scrubbing his face.
"Well we did, but she just keeps ordering them online. And then when we blocked her online account from making purchases she made an alias. Then when we froze her bank account she started mugging the others late at night with lullabies. Using others' stolen bank cards to purchase new markers." Zelda explained, with 'Pointy Nose' across her face and an arrow pointing down at it from her forehead.
"By the way, where is the other one?" Samus brought up as the thought suddenly crossed her mind.
"Last I saw him, he was dragged off by Lucina and Raven." Marth shrugged, still focusing on scrubbing his face.
"We should probably introduce him to everyone else too, you know so the crowd thins out between the two of them, I think they're starting to get a little too rowdy and she's starting to get angsty." Samus says as Shulk and Link kept pushing each other at the shoulder.
"Oh no… They're already showing early symptoms." Zelda drops her shoulders, they were going to have to do some crowd control soon before things got out of hand.
"Hey man it's my turn with the cool dragon lady now!" Ike says as he shoves Shulk out of the way. "Check out my wicked beard!" He says gliding a hand over his chin.
"Dumass there's nothing there!" Shulk exclaimed, "there's more hair on your ass than on your face and unless you're willing to show that you should move aside for those of us that actually have something to show." He adds before shoving Ike away.
"That's because I just started growing it today, and I told you that in confidence!" Ike huffs while he shoves Shulk.
"Maybe you guys should stop hogging up all the space and let someone else try who hasn't gone for the hundredth time!" Sonic states from the back followed by a few murmurs in agreement.
"Well that's only because all you other guy's things suck!" Ness calls out while crossing his arms.
"I rightfully disagree" Icce steps up with his hands on his hips, "see-"
"OH nobody cares about your go-go dance pretzel man!" Toon cuts him off and waved him away.
"And you're just a nasty little man!" Snow scolds him.
"We can all still partake in these joyous endeavors of yours, if we could remain calm and civil about it." F Corrin spoke up but was relatively ignored as everyone was busy giving each other dirty looks.
"Fellas, The Falcon thinks we should all take a moment to cool down." Cpt Falcon comes in between them with a bright heroic smile.
"Oh piss off dude, you haven't been interesting in years! In fact almost no-one recognizes you in our big events except some basement dwelling know it all!" Sonic shouts from further back.
"Falcon… Sad…" The Captain slowly lowered his head with a large frown and disappeared into the crowd.
"Yeah bro you're washed up, let the new crew take over" Link steps past Falcon flashing a smile of his own.
"YOU!?" Shulk scoffed, "Link you're so washed up you've been fighting the same dude for years. And newsflash going from Temple to Temple every single time, every single incarnation is just lazy heroic tales. Your goddesses clearly gave up on your legacy long ago, I mean it was awesome when the hero of time did it, but it's getting old!" He adds.
"*GAASP* you take that back! My goddesses know what they're doing!" Link shouts while wagging his finger about.
"And who better to face at the end of a long grueling journey than the King of Evil!" Ganon steps out and claims while Link nodded furiously while standing next to the Gerudo king and placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Yeah you tell 'em!" Link agreed, "I don't see your arch nemesis here, oh that's right he's not relevant or interesting. Lamest. Villain. Ever!" Link adds while now Ganon nods while patting Link on the shoulder.
"Name a more iconic hero villain duo, I'll wait!" Link adds. Meanwhile Bowser cleared his throat from the back of the crowd.
"Hey! He still made it to stage hazard!" Shulk protested.
"We can still be friends, just please stop this," F Corrin calls out again while slightly shrinking in her seat.
"BEEP!" Mr Game and watch yells while waving his bell around.
"You have never been relevant!" Fox says while scoffing at him.
"BEEP!" He replies back, which is probably a good thing he's always censored because he likes colorful language.
"Yeah Fox, the whole space and laser fascination stopped being a thing in the first tournament!" Roy states while grabbing Fox by the face and shoving him back into the ground.
"Alright-a everyone break-" Mario began before Peach placed a hand over his mouth and dragged him away.
"Mario pick your battles remember, if you go in there you're going to get annihilated!" Peach warned while he stood there thinking for a bit.
"Yeah… You're-a right, they're fine as they-a are…" He says while removing his hat and holding it over his face and scooting away. It didn't matter at that point however, because the crowd was now in its pushing people on the shoulder phase of the tense standoff.
"Ok mr blazing blade, you lost your thunder so badly they had to bring in a bigger, bolder and buffer you!" Toon shouts at Roy while he pouts.
"I missed my mommy…" He shrinks a little and whispers to himself.
"Pika!" Pikachu states while coming into the fray, there's no way he's irrelevant, or so he thought…
"Pfft, face it Pikachu you're old news now! The craze with you and your world died ages ago, with all the new regions discovering new species a lot of pokemon lost their uniqueness quickly. The repeat cycle got old fast, I mean look at all the Pikachu copies out there in every region!" Ness states. "Besides I think that paper pag Pikachu is getting more popular than you nowadays!" He adds while Pikachu scoffs. "Besides I always thought Raichu was cooler than you," Ness adds casually making Pikachu gasp angrily.
"PI-KA!" He shouts back as angry sparks danced on his cheeks.
"Make me!" Ness stuck his tongue out at him. Then the shoves started getting more aggressive. Then like a domino effect from people being shoved into other people the tension went critical.
"We have a code red!" Samus yelled. Right before Peach bonks Roy over the head with her frying pan, knocking him out cold.
"That's code fire red, Peach…" Zelda sighs while pinching the bridge of her nose. 'Code: Fire Red' stood for any and all instances of a chaotic nature that originated directly or indirectly from Roy.
"STOP IT!" A booming voice shouts as a table comes shattering through the middle of the crowd dispensing everyone. "Stop it!" Another shout came though not as intense as the first one and another table flew across the room shattering against the back wall. Everyone else was either hard pressed against the floor or tightly hugging the wall, and all pairs of eyes were staring wide eyed at the culprit. F Corrin was there sitting on the floor rocking back and forth with her hands over head. What caught everyone off guard was the lance that protruded from her arm earlier, which threw the tables around.
"Ok she's going critical, Marth!" Samus says in a hushed voice.
"On it!" He says getting up off the floor and rushing towards the newcomer. "Heyyy…" He says while kneeling next to her, "what do you say we go and look at the garden? I bet there's many types of flowers there you've never seen before." He says while she slowly looks up to look at him. She then nods her head slowly and he escorts her out while the other members of the six work on crowd control.
*upstairs*
Robin steps into the balcony where Lucina stood looking out over the vast gardens of the mansion. She had stepped out, giving him a minute or so to think over her proposition. "I'm sorry you found out this way, or rather that you found out in general." He says and she turns to look at him but he avoids her gaze.
"It's not your fault Robin, I would have found out sooner or later these things happen." She waved him off and turned back to look at the vast garden. "Still though, I appreciate the fact that you're willing to help," She spoke softly. He stood next to her also staring up at the clear night sky. He took a quick glance at her again but it seemed as she noticed and pretended not to which caused him to awkwardly smile.
"This must feel painfully familiar…" he says, it had been a while since they were both ever this close. Well without berating each other and or her trying to attack him.
"It's not all bad, the look is outstanding out here." she replies while he clears his throat and shifts in place. Despite it being stormy the gardens never failed to amaze, and Robin even had a drape over the balcony that protected them from the rain.
She slowly turns to him trying to find the words to what she wanted to say next, unsure of how to proceed. "Robin…" She started as he slowly turned to face her but she was staring down at her hands clasped together. "I know this must be hard for you yet you're here overlooking the negatives, and I really appreciate that.." She spoke softly while giving him a slight smile.
"Anything for a friend, Lucina." He shrugs while smiling back at her. She then looks back down at her hands trying to figure out how to proceed. There were so many thoughts and questions racing through her mind.
"Well the truth is Robin I…" She began, but she didn't finish and turned around looking conflicted with herself. He approached and placed his hands on her shoulders, turning her around.
"It's alright Lucina, I know" he assured. "Your burning desire to learn the truth is challenged by your fear of the truth." He says and takes a seat on one of the chairs ushering her to the other one.
"You sound so sure about it," she remarked before leaning back.
"I'm sure you've thought about it a lot, I mean you know for a fact that your counterpart and Raven are estranged for a reason." He adds and she sighs and just motions him to go on.
"Well then, let's start from the beginning." She says as he gives her a slow nod.
"Very well, as you know we both woke up on a field void of any and all memories of our past, except of course Raven saw your father in a different light when he found her." He starts…
*Infirmary*
"My head feels like it's contemplating on whether or not it wants to explode!" Raven groans while covering her face.
"We at least you've stopped mumbling incoherent nonsense," M Corrin shrugs as he lays back on a chair next to her bed.
"All I remember was you got out of control and then the library was getting destroyed, after that it was all a blank." She says.
"Yeah well, like I told your friend earlier I'm fairly new to the whole dragon thing." He shrugs while she opens her eyes and looks around.
"Where is she?" She asked.
"Well she went to go get the doctor, and when he came in he said she had run off." He says while she gives him a puzzled look.
"It must have been important, she left looking really agitated." They hear across the room. M Corrin parts the curtain open further and they see Dark Pit in his bed with his hands behind his back. He lifted one hand up and waved at them with a smirk.
"Did you happen to catch the reason as to why?" Raven asked the dark angel.
"Not necessarily," he shrugged.
"I don't know if I should tell you this or not, however when I was carrying you in here you kept rambling about your friend's mother." M Corrin says and she immediately turns to him with wide fearful eyes.
"W-What did I say!?" Raven grabs M Corrin tightly.
"You claimed she was a backstabber." He replies while she shoves him back and throws off her covers.
"Oh no! I couldn't have! I wouldn't! I couldn't!" She exclaimed rapidly. "Where's my stuff!?" She says in a panic while looking around.
"Uh some nurse, Peach I think? She gave you a change of clothes and left with your things in a bag." M Corrin explained. Raven tries to head for the door but she stumbled around and knocked over a shelf. M Corrin rushed over and helped her to her feet again.
"I have to find her," Raven breathed out.
"Um Peach said you're not to leave the room, you suffered a really bad concussion and you're not supposed to be out of bed." He says moving her towards the bed but she refuses to go with him.
"No! I have to see her!" She insisted, shoving his arm away and making her way towards the door again.
"I think you should go back to bed, I mean you can't even stand up straight. I'll go and find your friend but you should lie down." M Corrin ran over and stood in her way again. "Peach was very adamant about you staying in bed." He adds and points to her bed but she crosses her arms and glares at him.
"Just let her go dude, last time I saw someone get in her way he almost got an entire ham shoved up his ass." Pittoo remarked, he just turned and gave the angel a funny look. Most likely in disbelief over the whole thing. Raven however just took the opportunity and stumbled towards the door, however much to her dismay it was locked. And of course, Peach was known to take precautions against certain smashers when they're in the infirmary. Raven banged the glass on the door but there was no way she was going to break it open. She turns and ushers M Corrin over with her finger while clutching the wall to keep balance.
"You, I know you can pierce this glass with your special arm, I want you to do it!" She instructs while pointing at the door.
"I really shouldn't…" He replies.
"JUST DO IT!" She screams slamming a chair against the door, however that didn't budge the glass either. He groans and mentions her to step aside, he knew it was a very bad idea letting her out as she seemed unstable. However at the same time it felt like it wasn't the best idea to try and argue with someone so unstable. He jabs his arm forwards turning it into a lance that shatters the glass. Raven reached out and unlocked the door from the outside and quickly hobbled out of the infirmary. M Corrin figured he ought to follow her as she was literally in no condition to be walking around after all.
*upstairs*
"That was it, wasn't it?" Lucina says while looking around in disbelief. "That was the cataclysmic event that sets our worlds apart!" She runs her hands to her hair, "she was right, it was true!"
"Lucina please, you promised not to jump to any conclusions!" Robin says while placing his hand on her shoulder comfortingly.
"That's not how it happened!" Lucina states frustratingly, "My father proposed to my mother while she was baking for him, I heard the stories countless times, she was always taking care of him." Lucina sits up and turns to look up at Robin.
"Yes that is correct, I was there when they announced it to the rest of us." He replies.
"Then why is it that in Raven's world that didn't happen?" Lucina says while Robin looks down and shrugs slightly.
"I wish I could say, the infinite universe is a mystery beyond our comprehension." He says.
"So Chrom proposed to her after they defeated Gangrel, correct?" Lucina asked.
"That is correct," he affirmed.
"That's not what happened, they were already engaged long before that. I can see where the conflict and confusion came from, after the battle they were together and Raven was nowhere near them. She never got the chance she hoped for." Lucina adds.
"The problem stemmed from their professional relationship, the leader and his tactician, Chrom could never see past those titles. As brilliant and noble as he is, even you have to admit he could be a bit naive most days. Truth of it is he never really saw her for what she was." Robin explained.
"And what was that exactly?" She says.
"Plain and simple, a woman." He replied, "he so absent-mindedly forgot that fact that he failed to notice any indication she grew fond of him. He even admitted as much during one of their earliest interactions. And there were plenty of indications, they were together so often it raised some suspicion, even from the other Lucina. There was another factor however that affected their outcome that set it apart from ours, Cordelia." Robin explains further.
"Yes I remember, she had a strong fondness for my father, so much so that she was afraid to be near him." Lucina says, "almost everyone knew about it until of course Vaike came along."
"Yes, they were both so obsessed with Chrom in their own ways that it brought them closer in their own convoluted way, obsessing over Chrom together." Robin adds, "in her world because Raven was around Chrom so often he and Sumia didn't have those special one-on-one interactions they did in our world. It took longer since their interactions happened less frequently. Then of course there was the big definite event that happened before the engagement."
"Yes, I know my mother first asked Cordelia for her blessing to get engaged to Chrom." Lucina says before taking a deep breath, "by then Cordelia was engaged herself so she of course gave my mother her blessing."
"Correct, however that happened much slower in Raven's timeline because Vaike wasn't able to have his sparring matches with Chrom which in turn made his interactions with Cordelia basically non existent. And with Cordelia still having a heavy heart for him, Sumia too wouldn't approach him outside of some friendly banter here and there. She wasn't looking out for him and or caring for him as she did within our timeline. In Raven's timeline it wasn't until the battles against Gangrel that Vaike and Cordelia became a thing, way later than it did in our time. Which in turn led to Sumia and Chrom not becoming a thing until after the battle was over. And in all that time no one else noticed that there was another who yearned for the lord's affection as well." Robin explained before leaning against the railing of the balcony with his head down.
"She was going to confront my father about her feelings after the battle wasn't she?" Lucina whispered solemnly.
"Yes, except by then, Chrom was already approached by another." Robin replies. "That wasn't the end of it; however, as it turns out Sumia found out about the whole affair sometime later. Raven claims she and Sumia had a heart to heart about the whole thing. However she was very vague about the details but as far as I'm aware they both left it off on good terms apparently. That didn't mean Raven didn't harbor any sort of resentment but she had enough dignity and self control to push it past her." Robin adds.
"She was never truly past it all was she?" Lucina asked more so to herself than she did Robin.
"It's a possibility, however things got a little complicated when you came into the picture." Robin adds, earning a puzzled look from the bluenette. "Well the other you that is, see up until that point Raven had convinced herself for her own sanity that what your father and mother was some sort of war time fling, something that just happened in the heat of the moment. Something like that however could be quickly disproved when the couple in general have a child together." Robin explained while Lucina looked down at her hands.
"And later that child in turn comes into the past and tries to kill you…" Lucina adds. "I'm sure that didn't help with whatever resentment was pent up in there.
"Well that part couldn't be helped really, even in our own timeline you were a bit overly cautious with all the dealings involving your father. The difference however is that what made your counterpart more aggressive was that she saw Raven as a sort of threat to her own existence, as in if your father married her and not your mother you might not ever be, and in turn wouldn't be able to be there to protect him." Robin says.
"And she decided to never reveal any of this to me because she was afraid I'd react the same way?" Lucina asked. Robin in turn shifted in place uncomfortably while rubbing the back of his neck.
"Well, at the beginning she was terrified of even meeting you at all, in fact you both meeting was purely coincidental as the day's events didn't play out as she had hoped. I tried assuring her you were nothing like your counterpart but she couldn't see it, all she saw was her in you. Afterwards when you both got to know one another more she felt a special bond towards you and then the worries shifted from her thinking you're like your counterpart, to her worried letting you know her past would ruin what you guys have now. And of course she did ask me to not reveal any of this either." He says before dropping his head. "It's honestly been a whole mess since the beginning." He admits.
"I still appreciate you doing this, I know this will put a strain on the relationship you both have and also her trust in you." Lucina pats Robin on the shoulder before walking into the mansion again.
"Well you see, I believe in doing so I might have eased things over and made the outcome a more favorable one." He says making her stop in the doorway. He turns his head towards her looking in thought for a moment before he speaks. "What happens now? Are you going to confront her about your new findings?"
"Not necessarily, I have a lot to think about actually and also I rather have a level head while I address all these issues and not while I just had a ton of information dumped on me." She replied while slightly shrugging her shoulders.
"Smart, however it was you that asked for it" He remarked with a half smile.
"I am well aware of that" She says, "goodbye Robin" she begins to walk away before he calls her back.
"Wait!" He calls out with his arms outstretched, "I feel as if another matter still needs addressing a little further…" He says.
"And what would that be?" She asked, crossing her arms while still keeping her back to him.
"Where does this leave us?" He asked shyly.
"Where do you think this leaves us hm?" She replied vaguely.
"I feel… I feel like we haven't even made a dent as far as you and I go actually." He states and drops his shoulders a little.
"Yeah, there are so many other things going on at the moment I don't think it's the right time for a proper one on one about us." She said softly before heading out the door.
"Well at least we're on speaking terms now" Robin sighs, "not that it matters much anyway when Raven murders me later tonight…"
*meanwhile*
Peach walks back into the infirmary holding a bottle of medicine, however her cheerful demeanor quickly changes when she sees the door swinging wide open and shattered glass everywhere. She steps inside and sees Dark Pit casually scrolling through a magazine without a care in the world.
"Where did the loopy one and dragon boy go?" She asked the dark angel who simply turned the page.
"She got a little angst about something and they broke out." He shrugged and turned the page again.
"And you just let her?" Peach groaned.
"Hey man she's one crazy chick on a regular basis, and now that she bumped her head I'm sure her crazy meter went off the charts. I'm not standing in the way of that, I mean she once was literally about to shove an entire ham up some demon dudes ass because she could, well at least she would've if we hadn't of needed it that is, I don't know about you but I'm not messing with all that I already got one crazy lady in my life because we're roommates I don't need a another." He states before tossing the magazine aside and picking up another.
"Yeah well lucky for her she can't take her medicine, you however…" She trails off before taking out a bottle and spoon. "This means you get all the 'good' stuff for yourself!" She says rather cheerfully with a glint in her eye.
"Why does everyone I meet want to torture me in some way shape or form…" He groaned lamely.
*upstairs*
"Are you sure you don't want to sit or possibly lie down for a second or preferably a minute?" M Corrin asked the hobbling tactician.
"I can't!" She growls, turning to give him a look before pressing on down the hall. "You know this is technically your fault" she breathed out.
"I beg to differ," he replies.
"With you going all psycho on us I don't," she remarked.
"You drugged me according to your friend back there!" He states, "in fact I don't think I've fully recovered from that, my eye starts to twitch a little when I see something squared that's brown!" He adds before crossing his arms with a huff.
"Oh you'll live!" She waved him off before standing in front of a door and resting against it.
"What are you doing?" He asked, puzzled watching her press her face against the door.
"I'm trying to knock, what's it look like?" She remarked.
"It looks like you're trying to phase through the door," he says. He shakes his head at her before moving her aside and bringing his fist down on the door. No reply. "Looks like she's not here" he shrugged before she dropped to the floor in front of the door.
"Then we wait!" She proclaimed.
"Or, we could go back to the infirmary so you aren't walking around with half a brain." He says while she looks up at him giving him a glare, or at least that's what he assumed she was doing it is hard to tell. "Now that I think of it, you're a little out of the loop right now aren't you?" He says to himself while stroking his chin.
"What are you getting at?" She mumbled.
"Raven?" They both hear from the end of the hall and turn to see Lucina looking concerned and puzzled. "Aren't you supposed to be in the infirmary?" She asked the tactician. Raven struggled to her feet again until M Corrin helped her up.
"That can wait, I need to speak with you and you already know why," Raven says.
"Well, sorry to say it's going to have to wait for your sake" Lucina sighs before motioning behind her. Peach then walked up behind Raven and gave her an injection making her go limp.
"I cannot tell you how many times I've had to chase others down because they can't sit still," She says with a tisk. She then turns towards the newcomer idly standing by. "Seeing as how you were an accomplice in this little escapade, why don't you help carry her back?"
"Truth be told I was just following her in hopes of a certain reward…" He says awkwardly with a sly smile.
"Oh right how could I forget, he's addicted to chocolate," Lucina says with a shake of her head. "Then again Raven was right it was the only way you were willing to move."
"You did what!?" Peach exclaimed.
"We can get into that later right now you have other matters to attend to no?" Lucina quickly interjects while moving the princess along, with M Corrin in tow having the tactician slumped over his shoulder.
*later*
"So that's it, you're all clear to leave mr grumpy pants!" Peach says cheerfully while holding her clipboard up to her chest.
"Finally!" Dark Pit says while jumping out of bed and stretching his legs.
"Yeah don't sound so excited" Peach says before tossing him a plastic bag with all his belongings. She shuts the curtain to give him privacy and turns around to face the trio behind her. "Set her down over there" Peach points towards an empty bed in the back. M Corrin heads over and places the unconscious tactician on the bed. "I need to go run some errands real quick and also get dinner started. You guys don't mind staying here to keep an eye on her do you?" Peach says before she twirls around in place and heads out, "ok thanks, bye!" She waves as she skips out the doors.
"Actually I need to get out of here, if I stay here any longer I'm gonna start breaking things!" Dark Pit huffs while Lucina looks back and forth for a moment.
"Well we can't just up and leave and leave her here in the condition she's in." Lucina quickly interjects.
"Then you stay here, I'm going to go for a leisurely walk now that the rain let up and I got the O-K for the nurse to waltz on out of here." Dark Pit suggested and began marching towards the door until his partner stood in his path.
"Actually mister, I can't just let you go running about by yourself, that would be very ill advised. I mean you just got out of bed after being there for several days, might I add!" She protested.
"All the more reason for me to go out and spread my wings!" He argued and crossed his arms.
"No! This is exactly the kind of immature crap that landed you in the infirmary in the first place and I'm not letting you out of my sight!" She states with a huff making him roll his eyes.
"Would you relax what could possibly go wrong now?" He states making her give him a look.
"Look, you can't even stand properly!" She fires back while motioning down to his legs.
"I'm perfectly fine you're overreacting!" He says waving her off.
"Then why are your legs trembling?" She says making him look down briefly before looking back up.
"Here's a better question, why are you staring at my legs?" He quickly fires back at her.
"Ugh! You're impossible!" She groans.
"I'll stay here with her," they suddenly hear from behind them, they had completely forgotten there was a fourth person in the room with them. She turns to see Corrin peeking from around the curtain where Raven was.
"Erm, are you sure? I mean you still haven't exactly gotten the grand tour or whatever." Lucina begins, "doesn't seem fair to be honest" she shrugged her shoulders.
"I think I've actually experienced quite enough of this place as is," he says before taking a seat on one of the chairs next to her bed. "I won't be completely bored here, your friend here gave me a few reading materials to keep me busy for days. That and also I do feel partly responsible for what transpired here today." He adds.
"Well if you're absolutely-"
"Yes he is now, let's go!" Pittoo interrupts her before taking her hand and dashing out of the infirmary.
"HE'S ALIVE!1!" A large crowd waiting outside roared, there were balloons and streamers all hung about for the dark angel. Lot of party whistles went off at the same time before several of them approached him. All the while however he was trying his hardest to keep his cool.
"I knew there was good in you!" Pit says while hugging his counterpart tightly.
"I'm not-"
"You did the right thing champ!" Captain Falcon says to him while ruffling his hair.
"You're my hero!" Toon Link says.
"All I did-"
"Yo DP I knew my visions of you weren't a mistake"
"Dawwh you're just a big ol' softy aren't you?"
"Someone's earn extra dessert today"
"I'M NO-"
"GROUP HUG!" Roy shouts before a handful of smashers pile on around the dark angel who was starting to lose his mind. However after a little struggling he managed to slip out of the pile and sneak away from them. Not without a certain someone noticing this however.
"Going somewhere?" He hears behind him making his entire body stiffen up. "I'm not going back."
"That's fine, but you're still not going anywhere alone" Lucina replies before walking ahead of him and turning around. "Well? Are you coming or not?" She asked while motioning her head down the hall that led to a door to the outside. He lets out a deep breath and walks after her.
"I don't like crowds either" Lucina admits to him while bumping him on the shoulder. He blows air out his nose while having a smile on his face.
*outside*
"So… How are you feeling now?" Lucina asked as she watched the dark angel as they strolled through the woods.
"Well, I guess if I had to say, hmmm I'd say my answer is still the same as it was THREE. MINUTES. AGO." He replied sarcastically while rolling his eyes in annoyance.
"Well you only just recovered a few hours ago, and despite the rain letting up it's still rather cold and damp out." She says while looking up at the moon in the sky, it was rather bright that night. A few dark clouds still circled above them in the sky, although the majority of the clouds had already dispersed earlier in the day.
"Trust me, being out here is really helping me. I couldn't spend another minute cooped up in there any longer, especially with everyone pestering me!" He says as he casually continued his stroll with his hands behind his head.
"They were being nice to you though, and I'm sure there were some who are worried about you as am I." She says but he just grunts at her.
"Well they can save their pity, I don't need it." He waved her off, she was about to reply before a flock of bats suddenly flew over them. they all then perch themselves on the trees nearby observing the duo from above.
"That's strange…" Lucina looks around now noticing what she once thought to be leaves to actually be bats. "There are an awful lot of bats out today, I don't think we've ever had bats around here?" Lucina thinks aloud to herself while the bats appear to be observing them.
"Well… I mean you never really come out here at night," he replies while holding his hands up and turning to her.
"Well I suppose you're right, but I think it's a little odd how they're all just here…" She says motioning to the little clearing in the woods they were in.
"Ugh, you're not going to go all super paranoid on me now are you?" He says with a slow sigh and drops his arms to the side.
"Actually with you I can't exactly help it seeing as how you're a magnet for trouble." She replies, making him snort in amusement.
"That's on you, I don't control whatever the hell you got going on in there." he says with a slight chuckle and tapping a finger to his head. A few bats circle around them again making Dark Pit look up at surroundings, I did seem like the critters were oddly converging on their location.
"Somethings wrong!" She states while taking a few steps back becoming more aware of her surroundings. Something felt out of place but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.
"Oh would you-" Pittoo begins before he is suddenly caught in a trap and scooped up into a net leaving him helplessly dangling in the air.
"You should listen to your friend more!" an unknown woman's voice called out which echoed around their vicinity.
"Well at least someone still feels the need to cage me, I'll take this as a compliment!" He says nonchalantly while looking around for the individual who seemed to have taken a personal interest in him.
"Who are you? show yourself!" Lucina calls out while unsheathing her sword. A few bats release from the branches of the trees and begin flying all around them in batches now.
"I thought you said we shouldn't bring our weapons in order to 'not incur violence' or whatever?" Pitto called out to the bluenette who was cautiously circling around.
"That only applies to you since I have more self control," she calls back while still keeping a close eye on her surroundings. However there was nobody there except the duo and the bats.
"Man what a load of crap!" He retorts, "just admit it you don't think i can handle myself!" He adds.
"Well I mean you ended up in the infirmary for several days for being too hot headed!" She states while throwing her arms up and giving him a look.
"It's not like I was trying to keep you from being deleted from existence or anything!" He says sarcastically, "oh wait!"
"And while I do appreciate that your intentions were for my benefit, even you have to admit you took it a little too far!" She retorts.
"Oh, you're different from the others…" The voice calls out again as Lucina looks around for the source but it was hard to pinpoint with it echoing everywhere.
"If you want him, you'll have to go through me!" Lucina calls out while holding out her hand in front of Pittoo.
"Darling, I'd worry about yourself first," the voice says as several objects struck the ground around Lucina startling the bluenette and making her stumble backwards. She sees a large batch of bats disperse and a figure appear in the middle of them. Something on the figure's face was glinting brightly in the moonlight as they stepped out of the shadows to reveal themselves. She wore a dark tight suit that helped her easily blend into the night. She spun a gun in her hand before holding it upright and a mischievous smirk spread on her face. "Now, shall we dance?" She says before holding out her weapons aimed at the swordswoman.
"Ahh I get it now!" Pittoo says once he actually gets a good look at her.
"Get what!?" Lucina replies while staying focused on the stranger before her.
"She's an Umbra Witch," he tells her with a mischievous grin on his face.
"A what?" Lucina asked, puzzled as she'd never heard of them before.
"Let me make this simple for you, she's an angel killer." He says making Lucina turn and gives him a horrified look. He didn't seem bothered in the slightest that she literally kills people like him for a living.
"You make it sound so wicked and dark, I'm actually performing a valuable service for all others. Especially considering most don't know what you and other divinity creatures are capable of." The woman replies while holding up her hands to her side.
"You're the missing newcomer aren't you? Master Hand has been looking for you." Lucina says while the woman smirks.
"I bet he has, however I've been here the whole time, watching, waiting." She admits to them. Lucina then suddenly remembered seeing a glint in the city when she thought someone was watching and following them, she just chalked it up to being Peach however. The woman then laughs at her perplexed, "in case you are wondering yes that was me that day, I only found you both however when everything got sucked into that strange vortex that day." She explains to the bluenette. "So now-"
"Boring!" Pittoo remarked with a yawn. "Listen if you've come to kill me just do it all this monologue is boring me," Pittoo says.
"Don't say that when you're such an easy target, you imbecile!" Lucina berates him.
"Boring…"
"You can't-"
"Boring!"
"I'm-"
"BOOOOOOORING!"
"You'll"
"BOOOOOOOOOOOOORIIIIIIING!"
"Will you-"
"BOR-"
"I think we've heard enough out of you," the woman says before hitting the dark angel over the head with the butt of her weapon.
"Oh gods, I can't believe I'm saying this but thank you for that!" Lucina says while rubbing her temples.
"Yes well, where were we?" She replies.
"Oh yes anyway, I'm afraid all your reconnaissance was for nothing since you can't kill him no matter what you try." Lucina states with a confident smirk of her own. The woman laughs again and shakes her head briefly.
"Oh I'm fully aware of that, however I did quite enjoy the show he put on the other day. It led me to learn one thing and that is that he can still bleed, meaning I can still have fun!" She explained with a mischievous smile.
"I won't let you!" Lucina says and charges at her with her blade ready to strike. However the woman easily dodged the attack and kicked her in the abdomen but at the same time she got shot at point blank range, even though the assailant never fired the weapons in her hands.
Her vision was now blurred a bit, the only audible thing was the ringing in her ears. She leaned over with her hand over her abdomen reeling in pain. It felt like taking a shot from a pellet gun at point blank range. "What the hell was that!?" Lucina shouted mentally as she looked back up trying to find her assailant. She slowly stood back up and raised her sword again while laughter filled the air.
"You're making this too easy!" The assailant taunts as a few bats fly around Lucina, as they disperse the assailant hops out of the batch coming straight at the blunette. Lucina quickly rolls away as a giant demonic fist strikes the air where she previously stood. Lucina only stared with wide eyes while panting hard wondering what in the world that was. She feels something behind her and quickly turns around while slashing only for her sword to meet the bark of a tree instead. "I'm right here!" Lucina hears and looks up only to see a portal open and a giant demonic foot to come down on her. It was too fast for her to dodge and it ended up slamming her to the ground with great force. "I was hoping to see more out of you, if this is your best I gotta say I'm sorely disappointed." The assailant taunts while Lucina lays sprawled on the ground while softly panting and trying to find the strength to stand back up again. She was about to raise her sword again until the assailant placed her foot on her arm. "How Dreadful" the assailant says while looking down at the beaten swordswoman with a devious smirk. Right now Lucina was wishing she listened to her senses and she and Pittoo had stayed inside, but someone just had to go for a walk. She looks over towards her partner still hanging from a net, although he is awake now and looking down at her with a sadistic smile on his face. He gives her a wink and Lucina just looks back up at the assailant who was still keeping a watchful eye on her.
"You lose!" Lucina breathed out, however the assailant didn't even flinch as the angel quickly snuck up behind her. She just kicked back and shot off several rounds making the angel stumble backward and fall to the floor while groaning in pain. Lucina placed her hand around the assailant's boot trying to pry it off of her other arm to no avail.
"Oh come now darling you're going to have to try better than that!" She taunts while turning to face Pittoo. When she turns again she quickly jumps away as the bluenette tries to kick her off. Lucina quickly rises to her feet more alert now that she knows what to expect.
"Boy are you going to be happy I brought this along!" Pittoo says with a grin as he pulls out his blades out of the large coat he was wearing. Lucina gives him a look but then quickly ignores him as he did have a point.
"Now this is more like it!" The woman says with excitement in her voice. Pittoo shoots off a few arrows from his bow which she backflipped to avoid. Lucina moves in to deliver an upward slash but she counters it with her weapons and even shoots Lucina on the shoulder making her stumble backwards. Dark Pit comes from behind slashing at her with his blades but she jumps away firing off a few rounds at him. He side steps the attack and takes to the air while firing off a few more arrows.
"Well, two can play at that game!" She says and jumps into the air before sprouting some butterfly wings while also shooting off a few rounds towards Pittoo.
"You have an answer to everything dont you" he says while taking cover in between the trees.
"You have no idea!" she replies before a large fist punches him out of the air making him crash back down to the ground. She lands gracefully near him as he slowly stood back up. "Don't tell me you're already tired, we've only just started this dance!" She taunts.
"Nope I was just getting you in place" he says woth a smirk, "NOW!" He shouts before Lucina dashed from behind a tree and rushed at the assailant. She quickly turns around to fire at the bluenette before she sees Pittoo getting ready to fire his bow. She smirks as he fires and she backflips out of the way making it head towards Lucina instead.
The bluenette was ready for this however and placed her sword in front of her with the flat side. Pittoo's arrow strikes it while Lucina slashed making it change it's trajectory. Before she couldbcounter however the arrow strikes the woman on the shoulder pushing her back. Before she could recover however Lucina quickly dashed at her and with quick precise swings disarmed the opponent effectively. Just before Pittoo pushed her back again with another arrow before taking out his blades and jabbing them towards her pinning her to the tree behind her by her clothes.
"Oh my this is a predicament!" She says nonchalantly.
"Yeah well we've been working at this thing for a while now!" Pittoo says while he and Lucina high five.
"Did you think we sat around twiddling our thumbs all day? It is a tournament afterall so of course we'd only be getting better." Lucina says with a smirk as she sheathes her sword.
"Alright that's enough you've had your fun" another voice says suddenly as the wind picks up. Just before the princess of Hyrule appears before them. "I've been following you for days now and I think it's time I brought you to Master Hand before I loose you again
"Oh come on you want to end our battle so prematurely, thays so anti-climactic!" Pittoo says with a huff while crossing his arms.
"Oh come on we've already had enough of these rouge battles alreary and you know the rules no fighting outside the area. Im just glad I got here before something inevitably blew up and Master Hand blows his top off." Zelda says while walking towards them before stopped in front of the woman. "Besides I'd say this battle is pretty much over now don't you think?" She adds while turning to the duo who high fived again.
"On the contrary!" The woman says, "I still had many more tricks up my sleeve!" She says befofe a flock of bats swoops in around her and she disappears. She reappears behind them suddenly before she quickly picks up her weapons.
"Yeah, yeah, you can always settle this later" Zelda says in a bored tone before taking the arm of the woman and crushing a little stone that engulfed them in a weird goop and they disappeared.
"Well I gotta say that is just what I needed after being cooped up all day!" Dark Pit says while retrieving his blades with a sly smile. Lucina however just growled at him before walking off bqcl towards the mansion. "What?" He says cluelessly before following after her.
*much later*
Raven half groggily opened her eyes and looked around the room before her eyes fell upon the bluenette. "Lucy" she mumbled, Lucina stood from her seat and approached the bedside.
"What a day huh?" She says while patting the tactician on the shoulder.
"Lucina I-" she began but Lucina simply shook her head gently before cutting her off.
"You don't have to say anything, I had a talk with Robin." Lucina informed her.
"Robin you backstabbing…" Raven groaned while sliding her hands down her face.
"I'm not angry with you either, nor do I harbor any overly negative feelings towards you due to the events that transpired in the past." Lucina says before she looked away for a moment and turned back.
"So then?" Raven spoke up before something else popped into her mind, "how long was I out?" She asked.
"Pretty much all day, in fact curfew is in a few moments!" Lucina replies while motioning towards the clock on the wall ticking away.
"Lucina I meant to tell you all this, just not like this." Raven says as she sits up in her bed. "I just felt it wasn't the right time for it, especially considering I didn't want to do anything that would cause a rift in our relationship." Raven admits to her while tightly clutching the bed sheets.
"Like I said I'm not upset with you, well not fully that is. I'm not angry with you in the slightest as I understand your situation and dilemma, However what I am is disappointed." Lucina explains.
"Disappointed? In what regard?" The tactician asked.
"Well as you said you kept your past from me in fears of breaking the bonds we've formed. My disappointment stems from the fact that you say even though you claim we've got a close bond you don't trust me." Lucina says while Raven looks down at her hands contemplating on what to say. "You automatically assumed I'd do what my counterpart did and do something highly irrational. Yet you know that despite us sharing a face and name we aren't a precise copy of one another. Yes our worlds are similar in most regards however that doesn't mean there are those subtle differences. No, you decided to compare me to her and not trust me at all despite what you may have said before. You really thought I'd stoop that low? I mean all this time we've spent together and you still assumed I'll be just like her?" Lucina says while pacing around the room.
"It wasn't like that!" Raven states, "I didn't trust myself!" She adds while Lucina gives her a look. "I didn't trust myself not to say the wrong thing to you, I mean how could I tell you something like that. I didn't want to take that chance, not when we've come this far!" Raven argued.
"That's because deep down you thought to yourself you can't trust how I'd react given your past experiences." Lucina says as she walks towards the curtain around the bed before stopping and turning her head. "At this point you'd be lying not only to yourself but also me if you think your intentions were due to another cause. And the fact that you didn't trust me actually hurt me greatly, I thought we had gotten to really know each other after all this time, guess I was wrong…"
"It's not… I… I… I…" Raven fumbled with her words. "I never intended for this," she whispered solemnly.
"It seems you need some time to clear your mind" Lucina says while turning away from her.
"What are you saying?" She quickly looks back up towards the bluenette.
"You know what I mean, we both need some time to think about things. And maybe this time you'd put more trust in me." Lucina says before walking off past the curtains and disappearing.
"Lucy…" Raven mumbled before she looked down at her hands again and tightly clutched the bed sheets tightly as a few tears landed on them.
*upstairs*
"You know something just came to my mind…" Dark Pit says as he fluffs his pillow.
"What's that?" Lucina replied while getting into bed.
"Well, since you've been here it seems you can't go about your life unless you're feuding with someone." He replies nonchalantly before jumping into his bed.
"Oh you're one to talk!" She waved him off. "And that's a bunch of bogus!"
"Isn't it? I mean think about it, at first it was me," He began.
"That doesn't count on account of you being difficult for the hell of it," she states while crossing her arms and giving him a look.
"If you say so however, then there was Robin, which has been going on since practically the start of all this." He adds with a smirk on his face, Lucina however just huffed and lowered herself in her bed.
"That's… That's complicated" She mumbled.
"And what about Raven, is that also 'complicated' as well?" He remarked while placing his hands behind his head.
"No, I don't know what it is yet" Lucina says before she turns to face the wall and shuts off her lamp.
"I think tomorrow is meatball sub day…" Dark Pit murmured.
*The Next Day*
Raven sat in her chair looking deflated and completely hopeless. She simply stared at the journal in front of her while contemplating her life. "You gonna eat that? I'm starving!" Dark Pit says while grabbing the pie off her plate and plopping it down in his. "So… As I was… Saying," he continued while licking his fingers. "After I realized I was left comatose with the absence of Pit because the dipstick got himself trapped in a ring, I found out we actually share our mortality as in, if he dies I die too. So naturally that forced my hand to go and find him and make sure he doesn't kill us both." He explained before shoving a spoonful of pie in his mouth. "Sometimes though… it felt like… he was purposely… getting himself into trouble." He adds while shoving pie in his mouth.
"That's Interesting," Raven mumbled while staring dead ahead and tapping her pen on the notebook.
"Are you even listening right now?" He says while leaning back and taking a sip of his coffee.
"I'm sorry, I just have a lot on my mind at the moment you were saying?" She replied, snapping out of her thoughts and sitting up.
"Did you even hear a single word of what I said?" Dark Pit groaned while pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Yeah you were saying something about a ring…" she says while he gave her a look and motioned her to continue. "About the one ring that was made to rule them all?" She said sheepishly.
"That's the plot of a movie!" He remarks looking very disappointed and shaking his head.
"Drat! I Didn't think you'd be one for movies" she says with a snap of her fingers.
"Well I do once in a while when one catches my eye, however this time it was because Pit just wouldn't shut up until I watched it. And believe you me I was running out of places to hide from him!" He says with a frown before taking another sip of coffee.
"Oh wait I remember now, you and Pit were two rows ahead of us on movie night when the visitors came!" She blurts out suddenly.
"Yeah, anyway why did you practically blackmail me into these little engagements if you aren't even going to make the most of them?" He asked while crossing his arms and leaning back.
"I'm sorry ok, but like I said my mind is a jumbled mess right now." She says while picking up a little cup and Dark Pit held up his finger however he stopped himself however as he was more interested to see the outcome. She takes a sip and instantly starts spitting frantically before frantically licking a napkin.
"Yeah you really aren't fully functional today, you just drank ink lady!" he said with an amused smile and turned the cup around for her to see.
"You could've said something!" She remarked a little frustrated.
"Now where is the fun in that?" He replied while leaning on the table. "She'll come around, don't sweat it" he adds, "trust me I'd know."
"What makes you so sure?" She asked while sinking into her seat while chewing on a black stained napkin.
"Well you didn't let loose a bear on bear and or destroy her confidence and self esteem." He says before gulping the last of his coffee.
"I just didn't think it would be like this, it feels horrible knowing she's upset with me." Raven says as she spat out the stained napkin.
"Yeah, we'll join the club," he says.
"Thanks" she says with a slight smile.
"No I really mean join the club, me and Robin meet every Saturday. We're trying to raise enough cash to go to the super arcade downtown." He explained, Raven however just smiled and shook her head. He'd be the last one she'd ever go for any support or comfort however he oddly does seem to be helping a little.
Well here it is at last the long overdue chapter, I was actually largely demotivated this whole time which is why I kinda neglected to finish this, its been like half done forever now. Anyway I kiiiinda got my mojo back somewhat which is 2hy you're reading this now. Anyway hoped you enjoyed and ill see you all next time! Toodles!
