Welcome one and all to something brand new. Now that I've got an empty spot in my editing schedule again, it's time to fill it with something. So what fit here? I decided to do another entry in my famous Intros series! This will be number 9 for those keeping count.
So, what's next? This particular game was brought to my attention in a review of a prior Intros series entry. I forget exactly which one and who sent it at this point, but they mentioned a particular game series that I only really knew existed. But, a little research later, and that game is our next entry. That game? Dissidia Final Fantasy. Now to be clear, we're only covering the original Dissidia Final Fantasy, not any of the sequels. We may go back and cover the sequels at some point, but to start we're only covering the original game.
And due to the plot of the game, I've decided to spice things up a bit. Since the whole plot involves an equally balanced army of both light and darkness, namely the protagonists and antagonists of the first ten Final Fantasy games, plus two unaligned characters for XI and XII, it wouldn't be a balanced roster if we just put Spyro and Cynder in, since they're both forces of light. So for this entry, we're doing four additions: Spyro and Cynder for the light side, and Malefor and Evil Cynder for the dark side. Yes, I know I could have used Dark Spyro, but he's becoming a little overdone these days. Also, Evil Cynder fits here for the same reason Malefor does. The dark side characters are all the main antagonists, and Evil Cynder was the main antagonist of A New Beginning
To make things easier, we'll be back to two chapters per update, only now each character will take two weeks to fully cover. One week for light, another week for darkness. And since during a fight intro, only the character being challenged speaks, there will be 10 lines of dialogue per chapter, five where the dragon is challenged and five where the Final Fantasy character is challenged. Then, once the characters are concluded, since each pair has a unique battle intro scene in the game, I'll create that between the two duos I've brought here.
