"Xelqua what is going on?" One of the hermits' asked Xelqua as he landed with a limp.

"To make a long story short, it's demons. And they are at war with us angels" Xelqua said,

"Parabatai. I need you both in the skies. Everyone else be on guard they could arrive any moment, Tango, Impulse with me."

"What are we going to do?" Tango asked as his red and silver eyes lit up in the darkness of the night.

"We're going to murder them. Because they are greater demons they rely on Edom's power to strengthen them. We can take them down using angelic energy to our advantage. Tango, retrace the angelic rune for me." Xelqua said, almost dragging the pair with him as Tango took out his stele and hovered the metallic object over the rune.

"Get ready to-." Xelqua started saying, when his angelic rune made a harsh gold glow taking the wind out of him. He clenched his eyes closed for a moment letting the energy flow through him as his communicator then vibrated with a loud hum.

[Xisuma] "Bane! Demons in the jungle, we need to prepare for an onslaught. ASAP!"

"Shit..." The angel swore looking at the message before pushing his blonde hair away from his face and Tango's stele away.

"We need to go NOW! They are on the outskirts of the jungle." Xelqua rasped

"Let's go murder those motherfuckers." Tango said.

"Impulse, go warn the others." Xelqua barks as he and Tango watch the demon extend its wings and fly off.

"Tango You ready to send Asmodeus' people back to hell?"

"Let's do this, Bane."

We both extended our wings and flew over to the mansion where the others were waiting.

Xelqua looks around him and notices that we have significantly less time than he initially thought.

"Explain the plan, Xelqua!" Zedaph shouted at the fellow blonde.

"They are going to attack so we need to be ready to fight. Most likely from that empty clearing over there." The angel pointed out before continuing "I don't know how well this is going to work, but let's do it." He said not looking at his fellow hermits.

"Hey, if we all die, at least two things are going to happen." False said moving her long blonde hair out of her face, "One, we die together, and two it's all your fault Bane."

"No one will be dying today False, That I can assure you." Xelqua snapped as he ran outside to where demons were chanting.

"Give it up, Angels'! Your days are numbered and it is time for your bloodline to end!" A familiar voice shouted at us as she strutted towards us.

"You wanna put your words where your fists should be?! Pearl" Xelqua shouted, "Let's finish this fight."

That's when most of the demons started to charge,

"Xelqua, what do we do-" A voice asked but they were interrupted by Tango.

"Xel, on your right." Tango said, pushing a demon away from him before it sliced the angel's head off. Scar retaliated and blasted the demon backwards disintegrating it into ash. Xelqua nodded at Scar and Tango, forcing his eyes to glow a bright gold before he yelled to the other hermits "We take the assholes down. If you die, just walk it off."

Xelqua then charged towards the demons approaching him.

He released a burst of gold energy sending some of the demons flying backwards, while some demons just watched their allies turn to dust. The other hermits just watched Xelqua in shock at the extent of magic he just sent out of him. Xisuma, Scar and the rest of the fallen just smirked before joining the blonde's side.

"Together Parabatai." Xelqua said with an upcurled smirk as he turned his head to Xisuma and Scar who were flying next to him.

"Always Xyrex." The pair replied with smirks of their own. Xelqua clutched the hilt of his dual blades and drew them holding both blades in his hands before attacking the demons.

Xelqua was greeted by a pair of demons, who failed to react to our onslaught in time. He placed precise cuts into their unarmored bodies, spilling their organs and blood upon the stone floor. More come to join their fallen comrades.

Tridents and arrows tear through the air and scar the trunks of the giant trees that surround as they lead deeper into the much larger areas of the nearby jungle. The demons tried to test Xelqua's body, and resolve. The angel took a hit to his left forearm and another to his right thigh, making him roar in pain and rage. Fighting through the searing punctures, a dozen more bodies lay mutilated by the angel's dual blades.

Asmodeus' warriors begin to retreat from the animal they have awakened inside the angel warrior, realising the fatal mistake it was to not put the leader down when they had the chance.

Some of the demons begin to be picked off ahead of him, and Xelqua can only assume the Tango, Xisuma and the other hermits found their way here into the fray of battle. Limping and growling, Xelqua continues to cut them down like a farmer in harvest season. Each strike felling, and dismembering, hungrily gnawing into their soft tissues and shattering bone. His boots make the familiar sick slapping as he treads through blood, organs, and other bodily fluids.

The last enemy falls to the floor with a dull wet thud from Xelqua's blade, the demon's red eyes widen as his last breath hisses from his lungs and the lights leave his eyes. Xelqua's angel's are at his back ready to get the other hermits out and ensure none of them are severely injured.

The stench of death is a sick irony, as the death dealing enemies lay mutilated about the larger alcove. Tributaries of their blood slowly wind across the terraformed brown dirt underfoot, making sticky tracks to a drain in the floor.

"Bane.. let's end this. Right here. right now. You and Me" A familiar voice growl

"Very well. Pearl, Lets."

She held the blade in her right hand, moving it towards Xelqua,

Xelqua Let out a growl as he grips his hand tighter around his second blade. With a wince they both exchanged attacks.. strike after strike..

Xelqua blocked her swing and dodged to the side, wincing as her demonic energy jarred against the angel's hands burning him. The angel cursed himself, he would have to be careful; an another attack like that and dark magic that is now coursing through him might get him killed if he wasn't.

It was as if time stopped when Pearl broke through Xelqua's block and her blade was impaled inside him.

Xelqua could feel the pain burning through him. He suddenly felt his heart skip a beat as he looked to his left, and saw the handle of the blade in his left shoulder stuck there with a mixture of crimson and purple blood flowing out of him.

The angel's blades lay forgotten on the ground, Pearl leaves the weapon in her opponent and starts turns to walk away. Leaving the red and purple blood to pool out of him onto the floor.

"Oh and Xelqua .. Tell Xiao I say hello." Pearl growled.

"Pearl.. You don't need to be Asmodeus' puppet. You can still change" Xelqua mumblingly called out but it was pointless as she placed her hand around his neck golden energy around the fallen angel flickers black as his eyes glaze over becoming a dull blue.

"Prepare to say goodbye Little Angel-'' Pearl's sentence and energy was cut off by a sword going straight through her chest killing her instantly and coming out the otherside. Her black blood splashing onto Xelqua's face as she disappeared into red dust

"Xelqua? Xel? Can you hear me?" a voice mumbled as they helped the angel stand, tapping the side of his face trying to get his attention.

Everything around Xelqua was blurred, it was hard to breathe. He focused his energy.. trying to sense how much Pearl's own power drained from his reserves.

"S-car?"

"Xyrex, are you alright?" Scar asked Xelqua as he leaned his head against his parabatai's chest.

Everything was still buzzing.. Xelqua couldn't even see in front of him

"Xyrex?"

"T-t-a..take it out.. please-e Scar.."

"Xy.. If I do you'll bleed out more."'

"P-please.. "

"Alright.. This is going to hurt. A lot" The angel only nodded, barely having the energy to talk at the moment.

Scar just nodded and grabbed a healing potion out of his inventory, as he held his friend down with one hand, and he slowly removed the blade. Xelqua let out a broken whine as blood spilled down from the wound.

Scar quickly brought out a piece of wool and peroxide to clean the wound on his shoulder. The sudden motion of the acid burning caused him to let out a heart shattering scream.

"It's okay. Xyrex.. You'll be alright. I'm right here." He reassured the angel, gripping his pale hand, he tilted the blonde's head forward holding the glass bottle on his lips starting to send the pink liquid down the angel's throat.

"Xy? I need you to swallow all of it for me.. ok?"

Xelqua nods as he swallows the pink liquid, feeling it go through his throat. Scar pulled the bottle away from him and placed pressure on the wound to slow the bleeding, watching closely as Xelqua's body twitched less, not as much magic flowed out of him, but Xelqua still whimpered in pain. He needs to make sure that he stays awake. If he falls asleep he might not wake up.

"Xy.. stay awake for me come on.. eyes on me" Xelqua lifted his head upwards and slightly leaned forward. Blinking his eyes rapidly which were now a dull but darkened blue colour with the purple and gold colours barely visible.

"Magnus? What was he like?"

"Hmm"

"Tell me more about your brother."

"Magnus is like us.. he's an angel but he couldn't fly until I taught him. Magnus loved hearing me talk about my angels, he could tell how much I loved talking about Void.." Xelqua suddenly felt his cheeks go red from embarrassment as he realised what he just said.

"It was only good things I hope" Scar said with smirk knowing the pair better than each other.

"The day I taught Magnus how to fly was the same week when I noticed he had wings. He used to be so scared of heights…."

"Xyrex.. I will help you find Magnus again. I promise you that."

"Don't malaikat. Don't promise me, Not about him.

"Xyrex are you alright?" Xisuma asked as he pushed his dark hair out of his eyes and shifted his grip on his sword. Running to his parabatai's side,

"Fuck.. it's been a long day, but I'll be fine.'' Xelqua leaned his head backwards, still having an odd feeling about what happened. He felt as if something were still wrong. Sensing something around him.

Everything around the angel was buzzing again, making his vision blur.

"Xy?"

Hearing Xisuma talk to him snapped Xelqua out of his thoughts. He forced his powers to die down, his eyes returning to their usual blue and simmering gold colour.

"Are you still with us?"

"….Uum yeah I think… Impulse, Tango give us a minute, Go check on the others" Xelqua whispers, as he shakily attempts to stand, but collapses back on the floor.

"Are you sure?" Tango asked as Xelqua weakly nodded his head and watched as Impulse and Tango left flying back to his base.

"Bane, if you think we are leaving you in this state, you got another thing coming." Xisuma growled as he came to the angels' side.

"You can't even stay awake.. Let alone stand." Scar mumbled

"I know that damn it! Pearl couldn't would have... Shit Everything hurts like Diyu all over again" Xelqua rasps, before wincing in pain as a short gasp erupts from his lips.

His parabatai looked at each other, knowingly they could sense how much pain their other half was in.

Suddenly Xelqua's pain began to slowly dull as both Scar and Xisuma traced over the blonde's healing rune, letting angelic energy enveloped the area around them.

The duo nodded at each other, all Xelqua could do was shudder as a more intense energy began to flow through him.

"Xy? I'm going to do your wing okay.." Scar mutters in his ear

Xelqua gave him a slight nod but even that small movement made him shiver.

Scar placed his hand under Xelqua's golden left wing where his feathers were twisted. The angel's hand glowed green as he slowly straightened the appendage as Xelqua's ears began to ring as black spots filled the corner of his eyes.

"Xyrex? We are right here.." Xisuma whispered in his ear, Xelqua barely could hear Xisuma talking to him as the ringing in his ears got louder, muffling everything. He suddenly clenched his fists and screamed in pain. The blonde's body convulses as he struggles to stay awake. Sensing a familiar energy go straight through him he lets out a whimper.

Xisuma was on Xelqua's left side, holding his hand tightly as he began to cough, crimson blood dripping down the corner of his mouth, shakily Xelqua forced his eyes open to see his angel's but even that small movement made my body tremble. Scar then whispered in his parabatai's ear "Xyrex, It'll be fine, we'll keep you safe. Close your eyes''

Xelqua weakly nodded, forcing his eyes to clamp shut letting the darkness envelop him.

~~~~Two Weeks Later~~~~
Xelqua was standing on top of his balcony, overlooking the hermits around him. He watched with a smirk on his face as Scar soared past, with an annoyed Xisuma on his tail.
Xelqua just smiled at the pair before yelling "Fly a little faster kitten!"
"What did you just call me Bane?" Scar exclaimed, as his face went bright red
"Your new nickname Scar, what else?" the angel said with a snicker. That smile he held, however, was just hiding his fear.
Not even two weeks ago our world was attacked by demons and became a battlefield. He was scared but can you blame him? He nearly died.
We are in more danger than we ever were before. What if we are still missing something, what if Xelqua was missing something.
We just need to be ready. Xelqua just hopes that he is strong enough to protect his people, his family
I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something happe- Get a grip Xelqua, You are just being paranoid. Your angels are safe.
Nevertheless, Xelqua shrugged off his paranoia and flew into the sky towards the setting of the sun. Admiring the nature covered world around him.
Once Xelqua was gone however, a dark red hand came upon the surface.
"Next time my little malaikat. You will meet your end at my hands." A voice whispered.
