My hobbies include playing outside, meeting new people, and interacting with all kinds of Pokemon.
My fears include medical facilities and equipment, complete silence, and having nightmares.
~End Introduction~
This story takes place in the small quiet town of Nuvema in the Unova Region.
It was the morning of my tenth birthday.
I had just exited my home which was located south of the professor's research lab.
This was officially the beginning of my Pokemon journey.
I walked up the sidewalk toward the lab.
Before I had the chance to enter, a teenage girl with red eyes and short black hair stopped directly in front of me.
Her outfit consisted of black tennis shoes, black sweat pants, a grey long-sleeved shirt, and a grey hoody.
I sensed an ominous aura around her.
She wore a menacing grin on her face.
I stared at the girl confused and asked. "What are you doing here? Are you a Pokemon trainer?"
Instead of answering my question, the girl studied my features as if she recognized me.
"That is none of your business," the older girl snapped back.
The air around me suddenly grew thick as I glared at her.
"Who are you?" I asked in a tone of annoyance.
The girl smiled wickedly at me and said in a taunting manner. "You look very familiar to me. My father has been trying to find you for years."
I shook my head roughly at her.
"Just tell me who you are," I demanded impatiently.
"Whatever," the girl said with a huff.
She glared back at me and continued. "My name is Mira Colress, and I don't want to be your friend."
Mira was really pushing my buttons, and I wasn't having any of her nonsense.
I straightened myself up and replied boldly. "Listen up Mira, I don't want to be your friend either. Now get out of my way so I can proceed."
"Just know that I'll be watching your every move," Mira said in a low voice.
She then started walking toward the town's exit.
I let out a heavy sigh and made my way toward the door.
The professor strolled over to me as I entered the lab.
"Good morning new trainer, my name is Professor Juniper. Welcome to my research lab," she greeted with a smile.
"Thank you Professor, I'm Sioku Marie. It's nice to meet you," I replied with a smile of my own.
Professor Juniper pulled three Pokeballs out of her bag and opened them up.
A pre evolved Pokemon emerged from each ball.
I looked down and spotted a snake, a pig, and a sea otter walking around.
"Those Pokemon are so cute," I said with a grin.
Professor Juniper grinned back at me and replied cheerfully. "I'm really glad you like them. All new trainers may choose one of these three starter Pokemon to be their first partner throughout their journey. There is grass type Snivy, fire type Tepig, and water type Oshawott."
I pointed down to the sea otter Pokemon and said. "I choose Oshawott as my starter Pokemon."
Professor Juniper handed me an empty Pokeball and replied. "Nice choice Sioku, I'm sure Oshawott would love to join you."
Oshawott happily placed its front paws on my knees.
I bent down and petted its head in return.
Professor Juniper also handed me a device and added. "This machine is called a Pokedex. It will tell you all of the information about any Pokemon that you encounter here in the Unova Region."
I held up the empty Pokeballand commanded. "Oshawott, return."
Oshawott stepped toward the Pokeball and let itself get pulled inside.
Lastly, Professor Juniper handed me five more empty Pokeballs and said. "You may carry up to six Pokemon with you at a time. I wish you the best of luck on your journey."
"Thank you for everything Professor," I replied before I walked out the door.
I then made my way toward the town's exit that led to Route One.
Route One was a short grassy path that connected to Route 18 on the left and Acumula Town on the right.
A few species of Pokemon were roaming around the area.
I stood still when I heard the rustling sound of a nearby bush.
After a few minutes of waiting, I saw a small dog Pokemon pop out.
I pointed my Pokedex at the Pokemon.
The dog Pokemon was a normal type called Lilipup.
I held up Oshawott's Pokeball and commanded. "Oshawott, come on out."
The sea otter Pokemon immediately popped out of its ball.
"It's time for our first battle against this Lilipup," I said to Oshawott.
Oshawott responded by running circles around my legs.
I couldn't help but giggle at my Pokemon's excitement.
"Okay Oshawott, use tackle on Lilipup," I instructed.
Oshawott charged forward and tackled Lilipup to the ground.
Lilipup stood up and tackled Oshawott.
"Use water gun," I commanded.
Oshawott aimed a jet of water in Lilipup's face.
Lilipup shook off and then bit Oshawott's neck.
Oshawott fell to the floor with a thud.
"Oh no... Oshawott, are you okay?" I asked with a worried expression.
Oshawott slowly pulled itself up.
I smiled down at my Pokemon and said proudly. "That's great Oshawott, now use tackle."
Oshawott tackled Lilipup to the ground a second time.
"Now use water gun while Lilipup is down," I added.
Oshawott sprayed another jet of water at Lilipup.
Lilipup didn't move from its spot.
I grabbed an empty Pokeball out of my bag and threw it at Lilipup.
Lilipup was instantly pulled inside, and the ball started to wobble.
After a few seconds had passed, the Pokeball clicked shut around Lilipup.
I picked up Lilipup's Pokeball and held it high in the air.
"We did it Oshawott, I caught a Lilipup!" I shouted victoriously.
Oshawott hopped up with excitement.
I held up Oshawott's Pokeball and commanded. "Oshawott, please return for now."
Oshawott climbed inside and let the object close around it.
With both of my Pokemon safely stored away, I continued strolling down the path toward Acumula Town.
~In Acumula Town: No POV~
Mira entered the small town wearing a casual smile on her face.
She walked past the Pokemon center and down a small street toward the gatehouse that led to Route Two.
Mira's mother Julie and father Dr. Colress were waiting for her by a sign.
Julie is a tall woman in her mid forties with black wavy hair and grey eyes.
She wears black tennis shoes, ankle socks, black yoga pants, a grey T-shirt, and a fluffy grey sweater.
Dr. Colress is a man with blond hair and yellow eyes.
He wears glasses and a blue cowlick around his head.
His outfit consists of a long white lab coat, a pair of white gloves, a black uniform with blue outlines, and black shoes.
Mira happily strolled over to her parents.
"Good morning," she greeted.
"You look happy today Mira," replied Dr. Colress.
"Did you discover something new back on Route one?" added Julie.
The teen grinned at her mother and explained. "Yes Mom, I found a strange new trainer at the research lab. She looks very familiar to me for some reason. This girl is short with blond hair and blue eyes."
"You speak of Sioku Marie," said Dr. Colress with an evil smile of approval.
"We've got our sights set on that powerful little girl," added Julie.
Mira perked up and replied. "Wait a minute, I do recognize that girl from a picture that Mom showed me a while ago. Why do we need her?"
"Sioku has a special healing ability called cell activation. We need that power to grant our Pokemon infinite health," answered Dr. Colress.
A brief period of silence passed between the three of them.
Mira smiled at Dr. Colress as a thought crossed her mind.
"Now that you mention that Father, I do remember seeing Sioku activate her power in class one time. Sioku healed a Purrloin's wounds after it got badly injured after a battle," she explained.
"Do you know where Sioku is?" asked Julie.
"She is most likely on Route One at the moment," answered Mira.
"You've done a good job Mira. We'll be waiting for that little girl right here," said Dr. Colress in a low voice.
~Back On Route One: Sioku's POV~
I walked up a grassy hil that led to the entrance of Acumula town.
A sense of relief washed over me as I entered.
The small town contained a Pokemon center and a few houses.
Without hesitation, I hurried into the Pokemon center.
Nurse Joy looked up at me as I approached her desk.
"Good morning mis, how may I help you?" she greeted with a friendly smile.
"Same to you Nurse Joy, my name is Sioku Marie. I came here to get my Pokemon healed," I answered.
"I would be happy to do that for you," said Nurse Joy as she placed a tray on her desk.
I placed Oshawott and Lilipup's Pokeballs into the tray.
"I'll have these two healed in no time," she added.
"Thank you very much," I replied with a relieved smile.
I stepped away from the desk and then sat down in a row of chairs that were lined up along the back wall.
A few minutes later, Nurse Joy returned to her desk.
"Sioku," she called.
I quickly rose from the chair and walked back to the front desk.
"Your Pokemon are ready to go," she said happily.
"Thanks again for your help," I replied while retrieving my Pokeballs from the tray.
"Please feel free to come back any time," Nurse Joy added.
I waved at her and then walked out the door.
As I walked down the street, I spotted the same teenage girl who I met back at Professor Juniper's research lab in Nuvema Town.
I decided to ignore her and tried to proceed to my next destination which was Route Two.
Unfortunately, the teenage girl and two adults were blocking my path.
"Going somewhere little girl?" said a male scientist with a malicious grin on his face.
The scientist's voice sounded familiar which frightened me.
Chills crawled up my spine at an alarming rate.
I gasped in terror as I jumped back.
My heart raced at a million miles an hour.
Seeing the man's medical outfit up close caused a flashback to enter my mind.
~Flashback to Three Years Ago~
I had just been taken from the Pokemon training school by Dr. Colress and his female assistant named Aldith.
The two older people grabbed my shoulders and forcefully led me onto their airship.
I looked wearily around the airship as I was being escorted down a long corridor.
There were many rooms along each side with a control room at the front end.
Aldith roughly pushed me into a small room.
My eyes widened in shock at the sight.
The interior looked like a hospital room with all four walls painted white.
A bed in the center was surrounded by various medical machines.
A long wooden counter with many cupboards and a metal sink in it sat along the opposite wall.
There were soap and paper towel dispensers mounted on the walls above the sink.
I stood still in front of the bed with my eyes shut tightly.
Without a warning, Aldith lifted me onto the bed.
"Lay down," she demanded.
I did so without a response.
She then secured my body to the table with heavy straps.
"Dr. Colress will be in here soon," Aldith said before she walked away.
I watched curiously as she exited the room.
A long period of silence passed by as I lay still on the bed.
Dr. Colress eventually entered the room.
First, he stopped at the counter and grabbed a few items out of a cupboard.
Then he attached a short wire to a glass tube.
Lastly, he attached the other end of the wire to a small rectangular machine on the right side of my bed.
"Hello little pet," greeted Dr. Colress as he approached me.
I only turned my head away from him.
Dr. Colress released a second wire from a hidden compartment at the bottom of his machine.
He attached a needle to the end and then inserted it into my right arm.
I silently winced in pain.
Dr. Colress secured the needle in place with a piece of medical tape.
Then he powered up the machine by pressing a round button on the top.
The machine produced a loud constant beeping noise.
The sound terrified me to no end.
I screamed in pain as I felt the blood being extracted from my veins.
~End Flashback~
My entire body trembled with fear.
The teenage girl stared at me and laughed out loud.
"You're such a baby," she commented.
I brushed her off and looked away.
"What do you guys want with me?" I asked shyly.
"My daughter just wants to have a friendly battle with you," answered a woman with black hair.
"Okay... fine," I agreed hesitantly.
"That's a good girl," said the scientist.
Mira held up a Pokeball and called proudly. "Zoobat, come on out!"
A tiny poison type bat-like creature emerged from Mira's Pokeball and flew into the air.
I let out a heavy sigh and held up a Pokeball.
"Come out Oshawott," I said with irritation.
Oshawott popped out of its Pokeball and stood in front of me.
"Battle... begin!" hollered the woman.
"Zoobat, use wing attack," commanded Mira.
"Wait until Zoobat comes close to you and then use water gun," I countered.
Zoobat quickly started to fly downward.
Oshawott waited patiently for Zoobat to descend to its level.
Right as Zoobat was about to strike Oshawott, my Pokemon shot a stream of water in its face.
Zoobat avoided the water and jabbed its wing into Oshawott's back.
Oshawott fell to the ground with a thud.
"Oshawott, are you all right?" I asked with deep concern.
My Pokemon carefully pulled itself up.
A feeling of relief washed over me as I stared down at Oshawott.
"That's great Oshawott, now use tackle while Zoobat is still near you," I said with a determined expression.
Oshawott stood up on its hind legs and tackled Zoobat to the ground.
"Blow Oshawott away by using gust," Mira instructed.
Zoobat repeatedly flapped its wings which created a gust of wind that pushed Oshawott Backward.
"Counter that with water gun," I commanded.
Oshawott sprayed Zoobat with another stream of water.
"Use wing attack once again," said Mira.
"Fight back with tackle,"I countered.
Both of our Pokemon's attacks collided with one another.
"Let's finish this battle with air cutter," Mira said with a proud smile.
Zoobat ascended high into the air before it swooped down and slashed Oshawott with its claws.
Oshawott crashed to the ground with a hard thud.
I stared down at Oshawott with a fearful expression.
"Oh no... Oshawott!" I hollered.
Oshawott didn't move from its spot on the floor.
I returned my defeated Pokemon to its Pokeball and said sadly. "I'm so sorry Oshawott, we haven't had enough time to train yet. You put up a good fight. Please take a good rest."
Mira smirked at me and taunted. "Wow Sioku, you are such a loser."
"I haven't had time to train with my new Pokemon yet," I argued.
"That's enough ladies," the woman interrupted.
Mira and I immediately went quiet and glared at each other.
"You're coming with us now Sioku," the scientist said as he grabbed me by the shoulders.
I quickly turned around and looked at him.
"You're Dr. Colress," I replied fearfully.
"He is also my father," Mira responded.
I glared daggers at the man and said in a low voice. "Hold on, I know exactly what you're after. I don't care who you people are, but I'll never come with you."
"You don't have a choice little one," the woman snapped back.
"My wife Julie is right," added Dr. Colress.
With all the courage I could gather up, I struggled out of Dr. Colress' grip and ran straight toward the gatehouse.
"Mira! Julie! Help me catch that child!" Dr. Colress hollered.
"Right," the girls replied in unison.
I had just reached the gatehouse when the family of three caught up to me in a flash.
They cornered me by a brick wall.
I cowered in the corner with my head down.
"You'll never escape from us little one," said Julie.
"There's nobody here to save you," Mira added.
Dr. Colress held up a Pokeball and called out. "Magnezone, I need your assistance!"
The electric and steel type Pokemon Magnezone emerged from its Pokeball and stood beside its trainer.
"Use thunderbolt on the little girl," Dr. Colress commanded.
Magnezone unleashed a powerful thunderbolt on me which struck my chest.
I fell to the ground with a hard thud as volts of electricity rushed through my body.
The pain was so intense that it knocked me unconscious.
Mira, Julie, and Dr. Colress restrained my body with ropes before they carried me away.
Lilipup and Oshawott popped out of their Pokeballs and chased after the family.
Dr. Colress led his family back through Route One and through the gatehouse that led to Route 18.
They road a wild Lapras across the river.
The river led them down to Route 17.
After dismounting off of Lapras, they immediately fled to their airship which was parked in the middle of a forest.
Dr. Colress lowered the plank and let his family board the ship first.
Once inside, Julie took my unconscious body to a medical room and restrained me to a bed with heavy straps.
~On Team Plasma's Airship~
I woke up in the same small hospital room that I was placed in three years ago during my first time being captured by Dr. Colress.
My arms and legs were tightly bound to the bed by heavy straps.
I looked around the room wearing a timid expression.
Seeing the white walls again made me shiver.
The place looked just as scary as I remembered.
All of the machines were still in their original spots around the bed.
I tried to move under the straps but to no avail.
The thick straps were digging into my skin.
My body was still trembling from the painful electric shock that I had received from Magnezone.
Much to my horror, Dr. Colress entered the room.
"Hello, my little experimental pet," he said wickedly.
"I am not your pet," I snapped back with a glare.
The scientist laughed villainously and continued. "You will be my pet as long as you are on my team's ship."
"We'll see about that," I muttered.
I watched Dr. Colress as he attached a few tubes and tall glass bottles together.
My heart began to race with anticipation.
He then hooked those tubes up to the two rectangular machines on each side of the bed.
Lastly, he released two wires from hidden compartments and inserted the needles into my arms.
I silently winced at the stinging pain.
After securing them in place with a piece of medical tape, Dr. Colress powered up his machines by pressing round buttons on the top.
Both machines simultaneously produced loud repetitive beeping noises.
Those frightening sounds paralyzed me with fear.
The shaking in my body rapidly intensified.
I forcefully held back a scream as I felt the blood being violently extracted from my veins.
Dr. Colress grinned triumphantly as he watched the glass bottles fill up with my blood.
I started to feel dizzy and light headed because of the blood loss.
My body immediately gave in to exhaustion, and I passed out.
Dr. Colress turned off his machines as soon as both glass bottles had been filled all the way up.
He then removed the wires from my arms and placed a bandage over each extraction spot.
Lastly, Dr. Colress removed the straps from my body.
With the bottles of red liquid in hand, Dr. Colress gleefully exited my room.
~In The Hall: No POV~
On his way back to the lab, Dr. Colress met Julie near the kitchen door.
"Good afternoon Dear, how did Sioku's extraction go?" she greeted.
The scientist grinned at Julie and answered. "It was a complete success. Sioku is currently passed out due to major blood loss."
"You should allow our little pet to recover before you extract anything else from her," Julie advised.
"Good point Love," Dr. Colress responded before kissing her cheek.
Julie gave her husband a hug before she walked into the kitchen.
Dr. Colress made his way to a laboratory near the control room.
~Inside The Hospital Room: Sioku's POV~
I lay still on the bed in a deep sleep.
The blood loss had taken a huge amount of energy out of me.
Hours passed by as I remained asleep in the silent room.
My body started to twich as I slowly regained consciousness.
Unfortunately, my health condition had only declined.
I felt my body burning up from the inside.
Sweat dripped down my face as I panted.
It seemed like all hope had been lost for me since I didn't have enough strength to move.
My Pokemon journey was about to end.
I closed my eyes and let out a sigh of hopelessness.
To my surprise, I saw Oshawott and Lilipup curled up on each side of me.
A small smile formed on my face as I looked at them.
"I'm so glad to see that you two are okay," I whispered in relief.
Lilipup nuzzled my arm in return.
I looked down and noticed that I wasn't restrained anymore.
A feeling of instant relief washed over me.
I sat up carefully and stared out a window on the left side of the bed.
We were parked in the middle of a giant forest.
I saw many species of Pokemon moving around as they went about their business.
They looked so peaceful and free.
I started to feel a bit jealous while watching them.
A wave of dizziness suddenly crashed into me like an ocean wave, and I fell back onto the bed.
My heart pounded in my chest as I panted.
Both of my Pokemon heard the loud noise and jolted.
"Please don't worry about me. I'll be fine," I said weakly.
Oshawott climbed onto my stomach and laid down.
I petted the sea otter gently and slipped into my thoughts.
Lilipup's ears perked back as it heard faint sounds coming from outside the room.
The puppy Pokemon's growl instantly snapped me out of my thought process.
"What is it?" I asked while petting Lilipup's back.
Lilipup stared at the door and let out a low growl.
"Quiet down Lilipup, I don't want Dr. Colress to come in here. He might discover you and Oshawott," I said while grabbing the little dog.
Lilipup continued staring intently at the door as it sat still next to me.
"Do not bark," I warned sternly.
A bright light suddenly began to shine above us.
This was much brighter than sunlight.
I quickly shielded my eyes from the intense brightness.
"Where in the world did that come from?" I thought.
Both Pokemon immediately ran to the front end of my bed.
Much to their disappointment, they couldn't find the source of it.
"Stay close to me," I said while sitting up again.
Another wave of dizziness crashed into me, but I tried my best to ignore it.
I watched with curiosity as the light repeatedly swirled around my Pokemon and me like a vortex.
In that moment, a circular portal mysteriously appeared and floated above my head.
I started to feel hopeful again as I studdied the enchanted object.
"What in the world is this?" I whispered.
Before I could attempt to figure it out, my two Pokemon and I were pulled through the portal by a mysterious force.
The portal carried us out of the airship and through the clear blue sky.
A few seconds later, my Pokemon and I found ourselves outside in a field of grass.
The three of us were surrounded by flowers and tall trees.
There was a chain-link fence around the perimeter of this area.
I laid down in the grass and closed my eyes.
My Pokemon laid down next to me.
The warmth of the sun allowed me to drift off.
