A/N So, guys. Welcome back to another chapter of the Euphoria series focusing on my character Vincent Chiang and his journey on navigating his life through high school. So before I get started, I want to thank some of you guys for continuing to support this project so far as I'm taking my time on writing more drafts. I'm still pitching some ideas on writing the special episodes starting with part one on Vincent's perspective before ending it with part two with Lexi's perspective. Anyway, this is chapter five and this covers season one episode five '03 Bonnie and Clyde. So right before I get started, I'm gonna go back and rewrite on the ending of the previous chapter as soon as I finish writing and publishing chapter five. So, this is chapter five, covering '03 Bonnie and Clyde, and let's get right to it.

Vincent's Narration: I've got to known my friend Maddy Perez since we started high school when we were both fourteen years old. She knew who she was at the early age. For as long as she can remember, everybody loved her. But she had no idea what exactly it was. She had this instinct that she was something special, something intangible, and immeasurable. And that gave her the confidence that she needed. She then participated in the beauty pageant, because of the confidence she gained. Until then, the beauty pageant coach was arrested on eighteen counts of child molestation. Her hopes and dreams got crushed by some mid fifties coach who didn't touch her. Maddy then started refusing to eat anything for a week out of protest. And then, she started to realize how much she liked on not doing anything. She would never say it out loud because everybody's been political, but Maddy never had a desire to pursue a career or a job. She was only interested in doing what she did, just without school and some of the complications she's been facing. The truth is, she has a very complicated relationship with her parents. I would even tell her that I also have a complicated relationship with the man who was supposed to be my father. And I would never blame Maddy for anything. We ended up drifting apart for a while when I found out she started dating the only jock I ever hated, Nate Jacobs. But Maddy and I would see each other either in the hallways or in classes during the day, and we ended up understanding each other why we drifted apart as high school's best friends.

The next morning after the carnival, Vincent woke up as the alarm blared. Opening his brown-bluish eyes, he placed the back of his hand on his forehead, as he remembered the weekend was over and he had to go through another week of school. Removing the covers, he sat up as he got off his bed before he opened his bedroom door and walked to the washroom. Turning on the water, he filled his cup while he brushed his teeth before he spat out the toothpaste as he picked up his cup of water and poured it into his mouth as he spat it out a few times before he washed both of his cup and his toothbrush and placed it at the side of the sink while he took off his sleeping clothes and grabbed a towel as he stepped into the stand up shower, turning on the water as it platters on his dark brunette hair.

After a few minutes of brushing his teeth and taking a shower, the teen stepped out of the shower as he dried himself off with the towel, deciding to go on with his day. Changing into a sleeveless t-shirt and a pair of skinny jeans, he puts on an open buttoned jacket as he grabbed his backpack before putting on his pair of Adidas Dame 4 Black Panther shoes and leaving his house.

'I just want to get this week over with.' he thought.

Approaching the school, he raised his eyebrows when he saw a couple of police cars parked outside of the school entrance, as he wondered why there was police presence at the school. He then started feeling his heart pounding, thinking the police were here for him, even though he didn't do anything wrong since Eva raised him and told him not to do anything wrong. Putting his backpack in his locker, he went straight to Intro to Calc class right away as he sat on a desk and waited for everyone else to show up. Just then, Maddy walked into the classroom and sat down on a desk beside Vincent.

"Hey, Maddy." he greeted, not making eye contact with her.

"Hey, Vinny." she replied, not taking off her sunglasses.

"Uh, everything okay?" he asked, having noticed her wearing a hoodie.

"I'm fine. Just on my period." she said.

"That's understandable." he agreed.

Whenever Maddy told Vincent she was on her period, he wouldn't dare to say another word or ask a question. About a few minutes later, Maddy started asking questions such as is the air conditioner not working.

"It's broken. You could always take off your hoodie." the teacher replied.

After the class ended, Vincent grabbed his school notebooks and textbooks and left Room 202, as he got ready for his next class. That was when things had started to get really weird. As he walked to his next class, he suddenly saw two paramedics rushing into the school building with a stretcher. Things had gotten more weird as the Chinese-Spanish teen was called to the office to speak to Mr. Hayes.

"Have a seat, Mr. Chiang." Mr. Hayes gestured.

"Mr. Hayes, what's this about?" asked Vincent as he sat on a chair across from his principal.

"Vincent, I'm sure you're well aware of the bruises on Madeleine's neck." Mr. Hayes replied.

Vincent blinked. He was pretty sure he didn't see the bruises around Maddy. Was there something he missed? Maddy told him she was fine since she did say she was on her period.

"Vincent, I need you to be honest with me. How long have you known Madeleine?" the principal questioned.

"I've known her since she and I both started high school as freshman." the Chinese-Spanish teen replied.

"And have you been aware of her relationship with Nate Jacobs?" Mr. Hayes asked.

"Yes, I have. And I've seen the way he's been treating her throughout their relationship." Vincent sneered.

Before Mr. Hayes can ask more questions, Vincent added, "And she deserves better because I've known her for the past two years."

After giving his honest answer, Mr. Hayes dismissed Vincent as he walked out of the office and went straight to his class. While he was on his way to class, one of his classmates from Biology, Melissa, walked up next to him.

"Hey, did Mr. Hayes ask you anything?" she asked.

"Yeah, he asked me how long I've known Maddy and if I was aware of her relationship with Jacobs." he replied, before asking, "What about you?"

"I pretty much explained that everyone who was there saw Maddy knocking over the chilli stand and called Nate's mother the C word." she replied.

"You're kidding. So that's what the commotion was about at the carnival on the weekend." he said.

Throughout the day, the school was still filled with police presence as Nate was being questioned by the police with both of his parents present while Maddy was at Principal Hayes' office. Not long after, Nate was being led out of the office with his parents in tow. Vincent gave the 'You're dead to me' look at Nate. The outcast watched as the popular jock had finally left the school building.

About a few hours later, Vincent and Lexi were hanging out for a bit because she was going out with Rue and Jules later for their girls' night out at the Moonlight Rollerway.

"Did Cassie tell you about what happened at the carnival that night?" he asked.

"She doesn't remember telling me that Maddy had found some weird pictures on Nate's phone, which might've resulted in him trying to kill Maddy." she replied.

"I swear if Jacobs hurts Maddy, he's gonna wish he didn't cross me." he snarled.

Vincent's Narration: Two years ago, after Lexi, Maddy, and I started high school, one of the guys, Tucker Blake, asked her to be his date for the freshman formal. I ended up asking one of the popular girls, Emily Parker, to be my date for the formal. We ended up being a couple for about three months, our relationship didn't last long by the time she started saying some bad and mean things about Lexi. I immediately had enough of Emily badmouthing my best friend I've known since I was nine years old. And right in front of the whole school, I announced my breakup. I asked someone to go out with me, and I ended up paying the price for it because I couldn't stand anymore bad comments being directed towards my childhood best friend. I then found out that Lexi did a French kiss with Tucker Blake, and I couldn't even turn around without seeing his face and hearing him bragging about it. Eventually, Lexi had enough of him. I immediately walked up to him and insulted him in front of the whole school.

After Lexi left to meet with Rue and Jules for their girls' night out, Vincent was at home, studying for his upcoming biology test. While he was studying, his phone rang. Putting down his pencil, he picks up his phone and looked at the person calling him, and much to his surprise, Maddy was calling him.

"Hey, what's up?" he asked as he answered.

"Vinny, are you at your home right now?" she asked.

"Yeah." he replied before he raised his eyebrows and asked, "Why?"

"May I come over? I really need a supportive friend right now." she replied, her voice shaky and trembling.

"Yeah, you may come over. Let me know when you're here, okay?" he said.

"Thank you." she said as she hung up.

"(Mom, my friend Maddy is coming over later. I'm gonna finish up my homework and clean my room afterwards.)" Vincent said in Spanish.

"(Don't take too long!") Eva called.

About fifteen minutes later, the Chinese-Spanish teen started cleaning his room after studying for the biology test. His phone then received a text message, as he went to pick up his phone from his desk.

Maddy - I'm at your front door.

Vincent - I'm coming to the front door now.

Walking over to the front door and opening it, he comes face to face with his high school best friend. Seeing the tears streaming down her face, he quickly spread his arms open as Maddy wrapped her arms around him while Vincent wrapped his arms around her.

"You okay? What happened?" he asked.

"I think it's better that I come inside and talk to you alone." she replied.

"My bedroom's this way." he gestured.

"(Mom, you know Maddy?)" he asked Eva.

"Maddy, nice to see you." Eva said to Maddy.

"Hi, Ms. Chiang." Maddy greeted.

"(Mom, Maddy and I are gonna go to my room for a bit because she needs to talk to me.)" Vincent said to Eva.

The two high school best friends walked to Vincent's bedroom as they sat down on the floor, making eye contact with each other.

"So, what happened?" he asked.

"My mom wants to press charges on my ex. I kept telling her he didn't do anything wrong to me, but she and my dad both agreed to press charges against Nate." she explained.

Vincent raised his eyebrows in confusion. Did he hear that wrong? Never in his life that he would hear that his best friend's parents and their decision to press charges against Nate for causing the bruises on her neck. There is one part of his mind telling him that Nate is about to get what he deserved and another part of him telling Vincent that he should not say it out loud.

"What do you think it's gonna happen now?" she asked.

"Honestly, I don't know. But I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens." he simply replied.

Maddy understood why Vincent never liked Nate to begin with. She knows her best friend really well on the inside, although she doesn't like hearing his sarcasm.

"We both know why we drifted apart for a while since you and Jacobs started dating." he said.

"Yeah, but I'm glad that we're back to talking terms again whenever my ex isn't around." she agreed.

"Do you have anywhere to stay for a while until this whole thing blows over?" he asked.

"I don't know. I can't go home, Kat blew me off, and I don't know if Cassie's at home or not." she replied.

After spending the last few minutes of having a casual friendship conversation, Maddy left the Chiang household, as Vincent tells her to give him a call or a text to let him know if she needs him for moral support.

Deciding to get ready to go to bed and calling it a day, Vincent's phone rang, as the dark brunette haired teen wondered who was calling him before going to sleep. Walking over to his desk, he picks up his phone and Lexi was calling him.

"Hey, Lex." he said as he answered the call.

"Hey." she replied.

"How was the girls' night?" he asked.

"It was fun, but I might've said something to Jules that made her freaked out." she said.

During the last few minutes, the two childhood best friends continued to have their conversation as they recalled their first year of high school and how it almost ended badly, first with Vincent breaking up with Emily Parker after three months of dating. They then ended their phone call conversation, telling each other they'll see one another in school the next day.
