Miral sat in the library at the academy, going over documents of the Klingon home world and their history. It for her one of her cultural classes. She really wanted to be a diplomat on Q'onoS. She knew that one part was knowing the history of the planet and another part was the language, which she had already mastered because she had learned the language as a young child. It was something that all her siblings learned as they grew up. Miral knew the language better than most of her professors. She had visited the Q'onoS several times while growing up. It was where she had met her mate even those, he was still nervous about them being together.

Miral was looking at an ancient text about the Kuvah'magh. She translated that in her head as the savior of our people. She read all about what the person had to do and the text about the mother. She didn't think that it was very likely that they would find a savior. She almost laughed that the part where the mother had to kill 10,000 warriors.

At the end of the text was a further reading of the Kuvah'magh. She touched the button, and it led her to a Starfleet page. She read the Stardate, and it was before she was born. It was only a couple of months before she was born. She continued to read, and she found out it happened on the ship Voyager.

She read that Voyager had come in connect with Klingon ship that was eighty years old. It fired on them, and Voyager responded to fire. When Voyager decloak the ship, Janeway quickly explained to them about the treaty with the Klingon Empire and that she has a Klingon on her ship.

Captain Kohlar of the Klingon agrees to meet with this Klingon and look over the treaty. He meets B'Elanna Torres and sees that she is pregnant. Miral knew that her mother was pregnant with her at the time. Kohlar starts asking questions about B'Elanna pregnancy. He leaves the ship agreeing to not to fire on Voyager.

Miral read that the Klingon ship blew up and two hundred Klingons were transported to Voyager. It seemed that the Klingon blew up his own people ship and knew that Voyager would save them. Captain Kohlar tells the senior staff of Voyager that he thinks that the baby that B'Elanna is carrying is Kuvah'magh.

Miral breath hitched. She looked up to see that everyone was going on about their lives without a life-changing moment. She had to wonder why her parents hadn't told her about this. She glanced at the time in her PADD to see that it was only two o'clock. Her Dad was probably home, working on his next holonovel and her mom was probably still at the academy. Miral had to think if her mother had a class right now. She figured out that her mother was in class, and it was ending until four. It was her mother's last class of the day. Miral knew it was best to talk to her parents later. Miral took a breath before she went back to the PADD.

Miral continued to read and found out that her parents didn't believe it for one second. The Klingons were given free range of the ship and they had shown up in front of engineering to see her mother. Miral let out a chuckle because she knew her mother and her mother wouldn't like that. Miral kept reading.

Captain Janeway talks B'Elanna into going to the meet with the elders when there is a hungry strike. When her parents meet the elders, they find that she is only half Klingon. Captain Kohlar tries to tell them that there is nowhere that says that the Kuvah'magh is pure blood. One Klingon is not too happy with it. Miral reads the name as T'Greth.

Most of the elders follow him. Captain Kohlar tries to convince B'Elanna to help him stop a holy war. B'Elanna agrees. They study the text together and Captain Kohlar asks B'Elanna if she follows any of their ways. When B'Elanna told him no it came as a shock to Miral. It was their mother who had them take up the Klingon language. They spent several nights going over the text before showing up in front of the elders.

Miral saw her that there was picture of her mother in a Klingon outfit. She thought that her mom looked so young in that picture. She could picture her mom telling them stories even if she didn't believe them.

T'Greth didn't believe a word of it. He points out that Tom should be honorable and challenges Tom to battle. Tom accepts. Miral let out a hiss because she could see her dad doing that. Miral could see that her mom wasn't too happy about it. Tom was the love of life of her mom's life.

They somehow convinced both captains that it was a good thing. They make the challenge not to death, but they would use blunt bat'leth Tom and T'Greth face off in a holodeck with blunt bat'leth.

Miral sees that there is a video of the fight. She watches the video to see that T'Greth falls, and her dad wins by default. Miral took a breath; she was glad that her dad was okay. T'Greth ends up in sickbay with the Klingon disease nehret. The doctor scans all the Klingons and finds out that they all have it. The doctor also scans B'Elanna and her daughter to find out that they have it too.

That only makes T'Greth believe that Miral wasn't the Kuvah'magh. He tells the others, and they plan on taking over the ship. When they appear on the bridge, T'Greth falls again, and the doctor saves him with stem cells from Miral. T'Greth is saved with human and Klingon blood. He starts to believe that Miral is the savior of their people. Voyager places the Klingons on a planet that they found for them.

Miral puts the PADD down and still can't believe that her parents never told her. Her parents knew how she wanted to live on Q'onoS. How was she have had a life with the Klingon people knew that she was their Kuvah'magh. How was D'stil going to react that she was Kuvah'magh, and he was attracted to her. She might not tell him because he would not touch her after that.

Miral still wanted to know why her parents didn't tell her. She glanced at the clock on her PADD and saw that she could meet her parents at home. She gathered her things and headed out of the library.

"Miral," Xavier smiled at his sister as she came in. "What are you doing here in the middle of the week?"

"I have to ask Mom and Dad something," Miral looked around the house and didn't see her parents. "Where are Mom and Dad?" She asked her siblings. Selena was also in the kitchen with their brother.

"Mom is upstairs changing, and Dad is finishing something downstairs," Selena gave her sister a look. Selena was ready to ask Miral something when they heard their dad behind them.

"Miral, what are you doing here?" Tom came over and hugged his daughter. "Not that I'm not happy to see you, but you usually come on the weekend to visit."

"I want to talk to you and mom about something," Miral said as she saw her mom make her way downstairs.

B'Elanna gave her daughter a confused look. B'Elanna hugged Miral and kissed the top of her head. "What is it that you couldn't wait until this weekend?" B'Elanna let go of Miral and headed for the kitchen to help Tom with dinner.

"I was doing some homework for one of classes and came across some ancient text about the Klingon Kuvah'magh," Miral didn't have to finish because her parents traded a look. She knew what she was talking about.

"We'll talk about after dinner," B'Elanna took a breath before looking away from Tom.

"Talk about what?" Xavier looked between his parents and sister. He didn't like being left out.

"About the savior of the Klingon people," Miral crossed her arms and stared at her parents.

"I said we will talk about this after dinner," B'Elanna hissed.

"I have never heard of this Kuvah'magh," Selena gave a questionable look. She looked at her sister. "How did you find out about it?"

B'Elanna turned quickly to her children. "I said that we will talk about this after dinner," She yelled. The three children looked between each other and knew it was time to leave. They saw their father telling them to get out. They didn't need to be told twice.

"You knew this might come up," Tom whispered to B'Elanna.

"I know," B'Elanna sighed. "I thought that it might have happened sooner."

"Me too," Tom hugged B'Elanna. "How do you want to talk to them about this?"

"I think that we should talk Miral alone about this. It is mostly about her," B'Elanna turned away from Tom and finished making dinner for their family. Tom nodded and followed his wife.

"Xavier and Selena clean up the kitchen," Tom said to them.

"But we want to hear about this Kuvah'magh," Selena whined.

"This is something between Miral, your dad, and me," B'Elanna gave her youngest a look.

Selena and Xavier traded a look before looking at their sister to see if she was going to tell them later. Miral shrugged her shoulders. Xavier and Selena both knew that they might never know what was going on. They started gathering the dishes from dinner.

"Miral lets go to my office," B'Elanna stood. Tom and Miral followed B'Elanna to the office. Tom closed the door behind him. Miral and B'Elanna took a seat in the sitting area in front of the window. Tom brought a chair from the desk and set it next to them. B'Elanna took a breath before speaking. "What did you learn today?"

Miral told how she was doing research on the Kuvah'magh for one of her classes. After reading the ancient text there was a link to the Starfleet database from Voyager while they were in the Delta Quadrant. She told them about reading the report and trying to figure out what was going on. "I want to know two things. Am I Kuvah'magh and why didn't you tell me?" Miral sounded hurt and B'Elanna didn't like that she hurt her daughter.

"No, you are not the Kuvah'magh. Once we got back home The Doctor with Klingon doctors and human doctors did more studies and found out that there was something in human DNA that helped find the cure for nehret.

"So human blood helped the Klingons again," Miral smiled.

"Yes," B'Elanna returned her daughter's smile.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Miral asked.

"We wanted you to have a normal childhood," Tom said. "We didn't want you to have all that pressure on you."

"You both know what I am studying at the academy and could have told me before I started. I had to come to you and ask you about it," Miral whispered.

Tom and B'Elanna traded a look. They didn't know why they didn't tell her earlier and that she had to find out by herself. "I don't know why we didn't tell you," B'Elanna said in a quiet voice. "We should have told you, but we saw how a wonderful woman you had become and knew the dreams you had. We were wrong and made a mistake. If it wasn't for Captain Kohlar I wouldn't be where I am today. He made me believe in the Klingon ways again. I have gotten to teach you and your siblings about it. Meeting up with these Klingon had taught me something different."

Miral nodded. She couldn't see her mother not teaching Klingons ways to her and her siblings. Miral had a feeling that they would have never taken trips to Q'onoS, or they might not have learned the Klingon language. Miral had a feeling that her brother would have taken up the bat'leth. "So more came out of the time with Captain Kohlar than me being the Kuvah'magh."

B'Elanna nodded. "We have something for you," B'Elanna turned to Tom and nodded. "Can you grab it?" Tom nodded. Miral watched as her dad stood and walked behind her mother's desk. He took the bat'leth off the wall. That bat'leth has been on her mother's office wall as long as Miral could remember. She had thought that it might be a family heirloom from her grandmother or someone who passed it down to her mom. B'Elanna took the bat'leth from Tom. "After helping Captain Kohlar and his people, Kohlar gave me his great-grandfather's bat'leth for you. I'm sorry you had to find out the way you did, but let me give this to you," B'Elanna gave the bat'leth to Miral. Miral took the bat'leth and how old it was. She looked back at her mother. B'Elanna took a sigh. "Let me tell you about Captain Kohlar and his people."
