Author's Note: Welcome to my latest addition to my Assassin's Creed crossover collection. This here was requested by Drcaus.

If anyone has an Assassin's Creed crossover fanfic they'd like to request, I'm up for hearing them out. Just remember that they have to be mult-chapter stories. No one-shots. They can be about OC Assassins, Assassin's Creed characters in other fandoms, or characters from other fandoms redesigned as Assassins. Also, I'm going to need a premise. I don't just want a crossover idea just because the two fandoms are similar. If anyone has an idea, just request it in the comment section.

I hope you like it. Any and all comments are welcome.

(Raymus' POV)

Cold. Weak. Tired. Hurt. Scared. Lifeless. Those are the words I use to describe the first memory I had. Nothing but me and the snowy road I limped on. I didn't know why I was on this road, but I knew I had to get away somehow.

I didn't know if my legs were damaged or exhausted, but they hurt like hell. But it didn't hurt anywhere as bad as the pain I felt in my right arm… or what was left of it. With my one hand, I clutched the stump that ended at my elbow. The snow that fell on my long, black hair matched the white, large clothes I wore.

I could swear that someone was following me, but everywhere I turned, I only saw the dead, black forest that surrounded the road. Just then, as if I wished for it, I saw a whole new perspective before my eyes. Everything became darker, but the very few living things (merely a couple of crows) were somehow brighter. I shook my head, and when I opened my eyes, everything was normal again.

I kept on limping as fast as I could, but that only made my pain burn even worse. It was only a matter of time before I couldn't keep my balance any longer and I fell into the blanket of snow I walked on.

"Where am I? Who am I? Why am I running?"

Those questions are among the hundred that flooded my mind as I laid in the snow letting the flakes fall on me. I thought I was going to be buried until I heard the crunch of snow approaching me. I soon found myself surrounded.

The man who towered above me was a young man with tan skin and white hair. He had an X-shaped scar on his face and a crown-like headgear. He wore a white, skintight shirt that revealed his stomach and white pants.

"Looks like he didn't have much luck, did he?" he laughed toward me. "And to think, he thought you had potential. He wanted me not to kill you, but you really pissed me off with this waste of time you call a chase. I'm almost tempted to finish you off just to satisfy myself. If he ever asked, I'll simply say you fell off a cliff."

The man's words shook me to my bones. I struggled to use my one arm to get back up, but he pushed me back down by pressing his boot on my back. He grinded his foot digging me further in the snow. He removed his foot only to kick me in the stomach over and over again making me cough out saliva. When he was done, I held my stomach in complete agony

"Listen to me, and listen good. You are nothing. You've always been nothing. I don't care what anyone else says. You're nothing special. You're just a bug that I'll always step on time and time again until you get it through that thick head of yours that weak trash like you should always be stepping stones for those like me. All right, men. Drag this slug back to where he came from."

I felt the metal gauntlets of armored men grab me by the shoulders and pull me out of the snow. I raised my head to look at the scarred man who insulted me.

"What… What is your… name?"

He looked at me with confusion before laughing. "Are you serious? You actually forgot? That's rich!" He continued laughing before I asked again.

"What's your name? I want to know your name."

The man stopped laughing and smiled at me. "Very well. My name is Syura. Why do you want to know so badly?"

I raised my eyes to look him dead into his. I answered his question with, "So I can find you."

Syura dropped his smile before delivering a strong punch across my face. I could tell he was furious by the force behind his attack.

"You know what? I changed my mind. Men, get rid of him."

The armored men exchanged concerned looks before turning to their boss. "But the Prime Minister said…"

Syura shut up the man who said that by grabbing into his neck and squeezed tightly.

"Did you not listen to this bastard? He threatened me and challenged my authority. So when I say throw him off a cliff and leave him for dead, you better damn well listen! Am I understood?"

The armored man nodded and Syura let go. The scarred man looked over to me before throwing one last punch to knock me out.

The last thing I expected when I woke up was the warm wave of fire in front of me. I opened my eyes to find a campfire burning before me.

I slowly picked myself up with my only arm and looked around. I was still in the dead forest with snow everywhere, but I was no longer on the road and there was a tent pitched across the campfire. That's when a woman approached the camp with arms full of wood.

This woman was a tall, adult woman with short, blue hair. She wore a black, hooded outfit that had red outlines across its edges that matched her belt. Her belt buckle had an unusual symbol on it that looked like an arrow pointing up.

"Oh, good. You're awake. Thank goodness." The woman said as she knelt down and put wood in the campfire.

"Where… How did I get here?" I asked with my head still hurting.

"Well, I got word of some Templar activity in this forest, so I went to investigate. And much to my surprise, I find two guards about to throw a kid over a cliff. I could tell you were still alive, so I did what any good person would do and save you."

I had some questions, but I started with the most obvious one. "Who are you?"

"Emiko. Now, it's time for my questions. Starting with, who are you?"

I fell silent for a minute unable to come up with a proper answer. "I… I don't know."

Emiko raised an eyebrow to me. "What do you mean, you don't know?"

"Because… I can't remember. I can't remember anything."

"Really? Well, that's unusual. Let's start a bit simpler then. What DO you remember?"

As much as my head hurt trying to recall, I did my best to find an answer for her. "All I know is that I was running for my life in the middle of the forest. That's when that bastard caught me, beat me, insulted me, and left me for dead."

"I see. That's very strange. Do you know who it was who wanted you dead?"

"I may not remember much, but I managed to burn that into my brain." I answered. "He said his name was Syura."

Emiko popped her eyes wide open and lost her breath. "Are you sure?" I nodded, which made her more concerned. "I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Still, if he really did get his son involved in all this, this may complicate things."

"Do you know what's going on?" I asked.

"Not entirely, but if you really don't have any memories, then I suppose you are entitled to the truth." She leaned in closer to get a better look at me. "Poor boy. You look about 12-13. Whatever happened to you must have been so traumatic, you suppressed it along with most other stuff. You still remember how to speak at least. Come. Sit by the campfire and I'll tell you everything."

I was still concerned over this stranger, but she was still the first person I met who didn't try to kill me. In fact, according to her story, she saved me. So I did what she said and sat closer to the fire. I focused all my attention to hearing out her story.

"I'm listening." I assured.

"Okay. I suppose I should start by saying that I'm an Assassin, a member of an ancient brotherhood fighting for the freedom from the shadows. We live in secret from all over the world doing everything we can to protect the world and its secrets from those who would abuse it, like the Templars, the antithesis of the Assassins. They seek absolute control over the entire world and take away their free will. We've been at a secret war against them for centuries.

"Lately though, the Templars seem to have a strong hold over this Imperial kingdom we sit in. The newly-appointed emperor is merely a child, so he is an unknowing figurehead oblivious that it is the Templars who are pulling the strings of his empire. I was sent to this kingdom to scout the Templar activities when I noticed two Imperial guards trying to get rid of you."

"Templars…" I said. "Does that mean that Syura is also a…"

"It certainly seems so." Emiko replied. "His father, the Prime Minister, is a Templar, so it wouldn't be out of place for his son to be part of the family business."

I lowered my head to stare at the campfire. Like the wood, my brain was burning from all the information given to me by the strange woman.

"So what do we do now?"

"I do have one idea, but it's pretty risky." Emiko said. "Whatever happened to you is most likely Templar-related, which makes you a valuable asset. If I were to take you back to headquarters and even train you as one of us, we might have an edge over the Templars. Of course, it would mean you'd have to spend some time outside of the kingdom."

"Why? Isn't there a place for assassins here?"

"There used to be, but after the Templars secured a strong hold over the empire, they destroyed the branch we had here and killed most of the members. The rest went into hiding and we lost contact with them. I've been trying to convince our leader into sending assassins to establish a new branch, but he said it was too dangerous.

"Anyway, back to what I was saying before. If you join up with us, not only will you develop the skills you need to kill Syura, but you will also help free the nation from Templar control. And also, I will ensure that we help get your memories back. What do you say?"

I thought back to everything that just happened to me. I didn't know how, but I was beaten, broken, and missing an arm. I didn't know if Syura was responsible for what happened, but I do know that he beat on me and left me for dead. And if he was part of the Templars, then I wouldn't be satisfied until I put an end to them all. So my choice was obvious.

It has been five years since I was found and brought into the Assassin Brotherhood. Five years since I was given my new name.

Raymus.

Every day and night, I trained in the ways of weapons, stealth, and mobility. Most importantly, I learned the ways of the Assassin, including the three tenets.

Number 1: Stay your blade from the flesh of an innocent.

Number 2: Hide in plain sight.

Number 3: Never compromise the Brotherhood.

I took those sacred rules to heart, but it was my motivation that kept me going through the harshest training. It carried me into becoming the youngest recruit to ever reach the rank of Master Assassin. And now, it was time for my initiation.

Before heading to my initiation, I attached my prosthetic arm to my stump. I tightened the black, metal limb securely onto my arm before checking the blade. By pressing a switch hard upon my metal palm, the small blade shot out from a thin slot in my wrist. Seeing everything working right, I released the switch and retracted the blade. I headed to where I was meant to be right after.

Towards the top of a tower, I walked along a line of fellow assassins and marched up to the mentor, a middle-aged man with silver hair named Thantom. Beside him was my teacher, Emiko, who looked at me with pride in her eyes.

I stood across a lit pyre and extended my hand. He held up a hot branding iron with the Assassin logo on it and held it over my hand.

"Where other men blindly follow the truth, remember…"

"Nothing is true."

"Where other men are limited by morality or law, remember…

"Everything is permitted."

Mentor Thantom pressed the iron upon my hand marking me. It burned, but I never let it bother me. When the branding iron was released, I looked upon the symbol that was now on my hand.

"We work in the dark to serve the light. We are Assassins."

As per tradition, it was now time to finish it with the Leap of Faith. From the top of the tower, I walked to the edge and jumped off. Without a twinch of fear in my body, I dived in headfirst into a pile of hay at the base of the tower. I left and everyone else followed one at a time.

After she finished her dive, Emiko patted me on the back. "Welcome to our ranks, master assassin."

"Thank you, teacher." I said. "I wouldn't have gone this far without you."

"Oh, stop with the 'teacher' stuff already." Emiko said. "We're the same rank now. Just call me, Emiko."

After our exchange, Mentor Thantom approached us and kept his eyes on me.

"Raymus, you have become the youngest to ever achieve the rank of Master Assassin. And now, I'll be sending you on a mission."

"Me?" I asked in surprise. "Yes, Mentor. What is it?"

"The Empire."

My eyes widened at the sound of that cursed name. My earliest flashed in my mind. "I'm going back there?"

The Mentor nodded. "I know that I've been hesitant about returning there. I always thought that if we did, we'd be fighting a losing battle. We're not even equipped enough to aid the revolution in their fight against the Empire. But recent events have begun giving me hope in our future."

"What do you mean?" I asked.

Mentor Thantom pulled out a folded up piece of paper and handed it to me. I unfolded it and read the words written on it.

"To the Assassins,

I shall begin by saying that I know who you are, I know who the Templars are, and I know the Empire is in turmoil. Rest assured, I am an enemy of the Prime Minister, which I believe makes us allies.

I am aware that the Templars have a strong hold over the Empire; so strong, that you have to send only one Assassin into the Empire territory to be on the safe side. That is why I am writing to you; to inform you that you have a chance to regain your strength.

As you may know, there is a revolutionary army fighting the Empire's corruption, and by extension, the Templars. What you may not realize is that they have a special branch that takes on assassinations, intelligence-gathering, and other unmentionable jobs. They call themselves Night Raid, and they could be valuable allies to your cause. With the help of these skilled warriors, you can have a strong start to fighting back against the Templars.

To find Night Raid, you can intercept them at a white manor near the Capital. There is a family there that takes in countryfolk only to torture them to death. My intel tells me that Night Raid has been hired to lay them down to rest. They will be there on Friday night. You can probably earn their favor by killing one of the family members yourself. Once the deed is done and justice is dealt, then you can talk to them for an alliance.

You people might be the key we need to turn this war around. The people are suffering and I refuse to allow this to go on. I will help however I can, but for now, this is all I can do. I hope this message brings you to a hopeful path.

Sincerely yours,

The Pariah"

I looked over the letter again to make sure I didn't miss anything, but it was exactly how it was when I first read it. I couldn't help but crack a smile, which Thantom noticed.

"That's basically my reaction." He said. "So now, you have your mission. Find Night Raid. Get their help to rebuild the Assassins in the Empire. And bring down the Templars."

I raised my head and nodded in acceptance.

After packing my supplies, I stored them at the pockets in my horses saddle. I just finished tightening it when Emiko came met with me in front of headquarters.

"I'm proud of you, Raymus." She said. "How are you feeling?"

"Well, I'm full of anticipation," I replied, "But to be honest, I am nervous. My first mission, and it's a trial by fire. Sure you can't come with me?"

"I want to, but I have other duties." Emiko said. "This quest is for you, and you alone. It's time for you to forge your own future, even if it means facing the pain of the past. The path is yours to take now. Remember the Creed."

"Remember the Creed." I repeated as I picked myself up on top of my horse.

"Should you ever need help, send word." Emiko advised. "Other than that, there's nothing else we can do. So safe travels, Raymus."

"I won't let you or the Brotherhood down." I promised.

I gripped the reigns on my horse and urged it forward at high speed. I went on a straight shot toward the Capital of the Empire. It was time for me to begin my new journey, one that will test my limits of being an assassin, make my brotherhood stronger, and bring me face to face with Syura, the man who tormented me when I was a boy. With all those motivations in my mind, I continued to ride over to my destination and didn't look back.
