Chapter 1: Key to Peace Part 1

Callum sighed sitting on his bed when he looked up at an armor stand seeing a dark blue jacket with black lines going up each side to across the sleeve. Callum stood up and touched the jacket and sighed when he heard " You still can't put that on?" Callum looked up and smiled seeing Claudia. Callum nodded, then said moving away " My father was different from other Crownguard." Callum just shook his head and smiled then looked at Claudia and said with his normal smile " So what do you need." Callen saw Claudia come closer and heard " Callum you lost your father years ago and your mother just a year ago and I know you still grieve. Callum chuckled and just shook his head then said " I am not grieving I have accepted both of their deaths it's just that I feel like if I put on that jacket I feel like I am going to fail them both." Callumed sighed as Claudia was the only one he talked to like this when he heard " Callum you are working on using a bow trying to get your father's skills but you have the best aim then anyone. You working on your skill with a bow is great and you wearing that does nothing for their legacy. You want to fail your parents then stop being who you are." Callen chuckled leaning back then said looking at the girl " Thanks."

Callumed looked around his room as Claudia left, seeing his workbench where he messes with items to see what they do. Callum smiled thinking of how the King his step-dad got him this book about how stuff is made like soap as when he was younger he enjoyed finding out how something was made. Callumed moved past the table seeing a wall with a dark blue quiver with the edges black on the strap where it goes across his chest and the top and bottom edge was black. Callum stood up and put on the jacket then the quiver. Callum looked at the metal recurve bow with it being dark blue almost black with the edges of the limbs black and just smiled then placed it on his back when he heard his door open again.

Callum smiled seeing his little brother Ezran wearing a red shirt and black pants. Callum chuckled as he knew Ezran wore the same thing his father wears. " Callum you taking forever I wanted to surprise you with a Jelly Tart." Callum chuckled and said " Just like mom addicted to it." Callum saw his ten year old brother hold out a Jelly Tart so Callum took it and took a bite. After swallowing Callum smiled and said " Good." Callum then walked to his workbench and grabbed a small ball then handed it to Ezran then said " Light it then just roll it into the chef's kitchen and it will create a small smoke cloud so you can steal more Jelly Tarts." Callum felt Ezran hugged him and heard " Thank you." Callum chuckled then said before taking another bite of his Jelly Tart " I want more of these when you steal them ok." Callum saw Ezran nod so he smiled then walked out talking to his little brother as he had his pet Bait with him.

* One Hour Later *

Callum sighed as he stood in a small opening when he saw a man with blonde hair walk with Claudia into the opening. Callum grew a little angry then said " Soren you're late." Callum saw Soren look up and heard " Callum just by a few minutes." Callum sighed when he heard " Callum weren't you planning on asking Soren a question." Callum chuckled then said " Soren I need your help to teach myself how to fight hand to hand with a bow like my father did." Callum smiled seeing Soren nod seriously then saw him give his stupid goofy smile and heard " So this is why your so grumpy." Callum chuckled, thankful for Soren to lighten the mood and he saw a nod so Callum grabbed his bow and nodded. Callum then spent the next four hours with Soren trying to fight better with his bow. Callum quickly found out the bow was hard to use but quickly got the hang of it. For the first three hours Callum could not land a punch on Soren but the last hour he was able to land on or two strikes.

* Four Hours Later *

Callum breathed heavily as he put his hand up then said " Soren that * Heavy Breathing * is enough." Callum then dropped his bow and sat down on the ground and just smiled falling onto his back. Callum smiled seeing Claudia again and heard " You know you're going to need more energy and strength." Callum chuckled as he waved her off then said " I know." Callum then sat up and then he saw a hand in front of him so he grabbed it and as he got onto his feet with Soren's help Callum smiled then said " Thanks you for this and helping me." Callum saw Soren nod then heard " Anytime to put you on your ass." Soren smiled then said " For now until I do it to you."

Harrow the King of Katolis, father to Ezran and step-father to Callum was sitting on his throne. Harrow was a man with brown skin wearing a red shirt with buttons and a design that was gold. Harrow had black pants and a golden grown on his head that was like a headband. Harrow had black long hair and a short black beard. Harrow sat on as the Crow Master walked out with his cart of messages when he saw just seconds later Viren walk in.

Viren was a white male with brown hair and a brown beard. Viren was wearing a black pants and boots with a shirt that was gray and from the right side of the waist to the left side was knee length on the shoulders were black pads with golden designs and both pads connected to a pink circular amulet. Viren had a staff that was silver with where he holds it have metal wings with a design and a pink crystal on top.

Harrow looked at Viren as he kneeled and after the Master Mage rose he heard " Harrow we found a guard's body out in the woods and after examination we are sure the man was killed by a Moonshadow Elves Assassins. I am sure they are after you." Harrow nodded, taking in this information then said " Viren send Soren out and whatever spell or object you have to find them." Harrow saw Viren nod then heard " I would like to ask to send a few guards with him. We both know MoonShadow Elves weapons pierce through any armor and Soren is my son…" Harrow put his hand up stopping Viren from talking and said " Yes you can send a few guards with him.

Rayla is a female Moonshadow Elf Assassin with shoulder length white hair, Violet eyes and pink-ish wears a form fitting teal and navy bodysuit secured by a black vest, dark brown straps, and a dark brown belt embellished with a silver brooch. The outfit is topped off with thigh-high navy blue boots and bracers. Rayla had dual swords that are basically big butterfly knives that can go into blades for combat and also hooks for combat but for climbing as well. Rayla had her hood on standing on a tree branch looking at Soren, her twin blades out as five other Moonshadow Elves Assassins stood behind her as she is apart of the group to kill the King of Katolis

Rayla looked into Soren's eyes seeing the fear and after a few seconds she realized Soren knew they were there and he was scared. Rayla sighed as she looked at Soren when she saw Auraan her friend shove her to the side and heard " I'll do it." Rayla didn't want Soren to die but she did nothing as Auraan grabbed an arrow from his quiver then knocked it on his bow and pulled back. Rayla watched as Auraan aimed at Soren and saw him release the arrow flying to Soren when she saw another arrow fly and hit the arrow to impress all six Moonshadow Elves.

* Two Hours Earlier *

Callum sighed as he entered the throne room just half an hour after he did his training with Soren. Callum wasn't wearing his jacket or quiver nor bow. Callum looked at Harrow and smiled when he saw Ezran walk next to him with Bait. Callum looked at his step-dad a little confused when he heard " Callum, Ezran I am having you two going to the winter cabin." Callum was confused as they never went to a cabin at this time in the year unless something bad had happened and not without his step-dad. Callum looked down at Ezran feeling a huge amount of emotion from him and Callum just chuckled seeing him happy and was about to say something when he was interrupted by Harrow saying " Also take your bow Callum, you could improve while your gone." Callum nodded confused and just left as they were leaving tonight.

Callum was walking by the stables going to go back when he saw Soren hopping onto a horse so he approached Soren and after he got next to the horse he said " Soren can we talk." " Callum not now." Callum sighed then said " Soren it's important." Callum saw Soren nod and after he got off the horse he walked with Soren away. After walking a decent distance away Callum sighed then said " Soren why am I and Ezran going to Duren?" Callum knew Soren enough to read him and even though Soren tried his best to hide his reaction Callum noticed how Soren got concerned then heard " I have no idea why but I am just heading out to take care of some." Callum looked at Soren as he acted like he was trying to remember and then heard " Go after some assassins." Callum nodded but knew something was up so he ran to his room and got his gear on then lied his way through the gate and followed Soren.

* Present Time *

Soren was confused when he saw some waving in the air then saw six Moonshadow Elves. Soren stood there shaking and saw Auraan shoot another arrow but saw it go to the side and he looked where the arrow came from hearing " Soren run!" Soren turned and hopped on his horse and left quickly as the Elves went after the person who saved him. Soren went to where the person who saved him was and quickly tracked him. Soren stopped the horse, surprised to see Callum surrounded.

Callum looked around holding his bow when he saw Soren charge in with his horse so Callum grabbed Soren's hand as he held it out and after he was thrown onto the horse Callum turned around and grabbed an arrow when he heard " Callum what the hell are you doing here?" Callum chuckled then said " Your welcome." Callum then sighed as he saw the elves disappear around the corner and he just put his bow on his back and said seriously " What is going on now." Callum then listened to Soren as he explained what was going on and that it was confirmed that Moonshadow Elves Assassins are After his step-father.

Callum looked at Harrow, his step-father, as he yelled at him for leaving the kingdom walls and got himself in danger. Callum just nodded really not in the mood and wanted to talk to his step-father when he heard " They are Moonshadow Elves Assassin's Callum they are deadly." Callum grew angry and before Harrow could say anything Callum yelled " And they are after you Dad and I you're sending me and Ezran away because you're going to do nothing and I am not letting Ezran go throw the pain of losing another parent like I have." Callum then turned and walked out before anything else could be said.

Callum yelled as he entered his room throwing his bow to the wall when he heard " Callum." Callum turned around and smiled seeing his ten year old brother Ezran who was five years younger then Callum. Callum saw Ezran walk in with bait and Jelly Tarts in hand. Callum chuckled and sat on his bed as Ezran sat next to him. Callum smiled as he grabbed a Jelly Tart from Ezran and started eating when he heard " Why were you yelling at Dad?" Callum frowned and after a few seconds said " Ezran Dad is in trouble and the reason we are going to the winter cabin." Callum saw Ezran get confused then heard " Well can't we help with this problem." Callum chuckled sadly then said " Ezran we can't." Callum sighed and pulled Ezran closer and hugged him as they ate Jelly Tarts.
