Happy New Year everyone!!!!! This is just a one-shot cuz it's New Year's Eve and the party isn't started yet and I'm bored

Disclaimer (I always forget to write these)- I don't own Lord of The Rings….Tolkein Enterprise does and they make millions of dollars every year and I make 8 bucks an hour babysitting. In short I don't own Middle Earth I just live there.
Summary- basically I wanted to write a new years story for LOTR but they didn't really celebrate New Years. So they are all in modern times……Kinda along the same lines of the Modern Fame of The Fellowship…….reincarnated and all…..but they're not famous. Note not all of this is going to be historically accurate….just bear with me ppl. Also note there are other people there, they're just not mentioned.

"FIVE, FOUR THREE, TWO, ONE, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!"
A group of more than a dozen people are standing around a TV in a New York apartment. In the background you can hear the party going on just blocks away in Time Square. These people are no ordinary friends. They have known each other for literally hundreds of thousands of years. Many of them were in the Fellowship of the Ring others were just friends who did amazing deeds of their own. And now being here was their reward, being able to live in such an amazing world.
"Happy, Happy, Happy New Year!!!" cries Pippin uncorking one of the many bottles of bubbly and taking a huge gulp causing it to explode in his face. Frodo, Sam, and Merry roar with approval and pour themselves generous glasses.
Eowyn laughs, these ridiculous Hobbits haven't changed at all.
"Happy New Year, beautiful!" says Faramir walking over, kissing her, and handing her a glass of champagne.
"HAPPY 2005 EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Shout the twins, Elladan and Elrohir at the top of their lungs, blowing party horns and setting off party poppers, sending streamers and confetti down on their heads.
"Yes! Happy '05!!!!!!" Legolas says laughing and blows a party horn too.
Gimli sits on the couch whistling and clapping and watching all the crazy celebrations. He guzzles a bottle of champagne like it's ale.
"Happy New Year sweetheart." Says Aragorn putting an arm around Arwen and kissing her lovingly on the cheek.
In the midst of all this two men sit at the back of the room watching. One man is ageless with auburn hair, the other old and grey but never aging any more than what he is now.
"Well, my friend, another year." Says Gandalf with a sigh.
"Yes………do you realize that all this mayhem and bedlam of starting a new year on January first was started by some beings that are in this room right now?" Elrond says thoughtfully.
For a while the two sit silent watching, and thinking, and remembering.
Finally Gandalf says quietly, "We are incredibly blessed to be able to live in such a world. I feel this will be an incredible year for all."
And so, as the bayberry candles burn low on the table and the conversations begin to be interrupted by yawns a new year starts for these people and the whole world.
Lets hope it's a wonderful one!
