Does Morning Come?

The moon rises and

Just for a moment the stars fade in its shadow

The night is so far away

But it draws ever so closer as you crouch and wait

And all the walls around seem to trap you

In this everlasting darkness

And no longer can you remember

Morning does come.

And the howls split the air

Like fire through a forest

Traveling so fast and so far

And the children lie awake and never know

Jaws clasping whatever is nearest

And the sudden fear consumes your heart

Because none of it makes any difference

And whether man or wolf

You want to escape.
