DISCLAIMER: THE MIGHTY METEOR NEVER CRASHED IN ADVENTURE BAY, NOR EVER EXISTED. (I felt I should put that there, as a mYtHiCaL rOcK is half of the focus of this story)

It was barely sunrise when Chase noticed an orange glow coming from many yards away from the lookout. As he neared the source of the glow, he perceived the wind around him grew a bit wilder, with each step he took. When he was barely a foot away from source of the glow, he observed it and saw the glow was coming from a translucent orange jewel of some type. He placed his paw on it and an enormous blast of light erupted out of the jewel. Then… Chase's entire world turned black. "Wher-where am I?" Chase wondered aloud. "Skye? Ryder? Zuma? Rubble? Marshall? Rocky? Anybody?"

When the orange jewel emerged with light, all the other pups woke up and raced to it. They arrived to see a Chase's body lay by the jewel, lifeless. The orange gemstone's glowing had dimmed since Chase touched it. "What's Chase's body doing here?" Skye wondered aloud. Marshall ran to his pup house and returned with his EMT gear. He inspected Chase's body. "He doesn't have any wounds, but I can't pick up a pulse from him," Marshall said, dejectedly. "You mean he might be… dead?" Rubble questioned. Marshall nodded slowly. "But it doesn't make any sense. Chase is a healthy dog that takes very good care of himself." "He couldn't have had, or shouldn't have had a heart attack," Marshall continued, "I'll stay here and try to come up something." Zuma saw Skye, quietly sobbing beside Chase's body. He walked to Skye and patted her, for comfort. Skye licked Zuma on the nose, making him blush a tad.

Chase wanted to step out into the blackness to explore, but was scared he would fall; There was no visible floor. Suddenly, a glowing orange light appeared. "Hello, Chase," said a voice. The voice came from nothing more than a glowing outline of a dog, which as the source of the orange light he saw. "Who are you?" asked Chase, half-panicking, half-curious. "Where am I?" "You are in the world of spirits," answered the orange outline. "And me? I am Florynce, your grandmother!" "My-my grandmother...?" said Chase, processing what was going on. "And what do you mean I'm the world of spirits? How did I get here? Am I dead?!" "No, no, young one," replied Florynce. "The orange jewel you touched sent you here." "Will I be stuck here forever?" Chase inquired. "You'll be here just until I give you a very important message," responded Florynce. An image of two scruffy adult German Shepherds, in an alley, floated above Chase and Florynce. "What do those dirty dogs have to do with me?" Chase asked. "Chase, those are Delta and Henry, your parents!" answered his grandmother. "But they have an extremely valuable item with them." One of the dogs sat up to reveal a golden collar with a rainbow gem in the middle. "Ooh, that's beautiful!" Chase exclaimed. "That collar isn't just valuable, because it's made of gold; it's remarkably powerful," informed Florynce. "But it's power is running out. They've been abused by many humans for the collar. Its power is being overused. Soon enough, the power with have diminished and fall into the wrong hands. If that occurs, who knows what will happen…" "Okay," Chase replied. "Where will I find my parents and how do I restore the gem's power?" "Your parents are in Adventure City and the gem's power needs to rest to restore its power," responded his grandmother. "It's time for us to part now, Chase" she said. "It's been a lovely time meeting you. Goodbye." Florynce faded away.

Back at the lookout, Marshall, Skye, and Zuma were still sat by Chase's body. "Could it have been a cancer…?" Marshall murmured, to himself. "If I'm going to be honest," Skye told Zuma, "for as long as I can think of Chase has been my crus-" Chase awoke and sat up immediately, startling Marshall. Skye ran over to Chase. "EEE, YOU'RE AWAKE!" she exclaimed. "What were you saying?" Zuma asked, smugly. "Nothing!" Skye quickly replied, with an embarrassed, pink face. "I need to go see Ryder, fast," Chase said.
