Disclaimer: I don't own Dynasty Warriors or any of the characters used in this fic. I'm not making any money off of this, and the events written are entirely ficticious.
Huang Chanyan grows old, and his only daughter remains unwed. He has run into much trouble finding suitors for his child –smart, but stubborn, focused on absurd things – desiring nothing more than to study strategy and wield a weapon.
He wonders if the boy bowing before him, Zhuge Xuan's nephew, would make a good mate for her. He can tell the boy is nervous. He wonders if this is the young man's first assignment as he motions for him to state his business.
"Lord Huang, I am Zhuge Liang. I wish to petition you for your daughters' hand in marriage."
First shot at a drabble - fitting a whole story in 100 words is harder than I thought it would be. Might do more if I can think of something to write about; if you can think of an idea you'd like to see in a drabble, let me know. Playing with the word limitation is kind of neat.
On an unrelated note, this is officially my last fic of the year, so - happy new year, everyone!
