Morning finally arose in New York.

Giselle rose up from the couch, and stretched herself awake.

She fluttered her eyes open. But when she looked around the apartment, she realized that it was quite messy; dirty clothes were strewn about, magazines had been dumped on the floor and abandoned, and the kitchen sink was full of dishes.

"Oh my," Giselle shook her head. "Tsk tsk tsk. This just won't do."

Robert, Morgan, and Chris have been so kind in letting me stay with them, she thought. The least I can do is tidy up.

Smiling, Giselle jumped up, went over to open the window, and sang out in a clear enchanting voice.

Of course, she never tidied up without a little help...

Across the city, wildlife sprang to attention.

A swarm of flies flew off from over a grill of burning hot dogs.

Some pigeons flew overhead two police officers on their horses. "Whoa!"

A bunch of rats began crawling out from the sewers, causing the people walking by to scream and run.

Back in the apartment, Giselle danced around a bit, while looking at some newspapers. She turned her head, looking out the window when she heard people screaming outside.

Then, the animals arrived in Robert's apartment; the rats poured in through the heating vents, along with some smaller mice. The flies came in through the fireplace, and even cockroaches streamed in through the pipes.

The pigeons came last, fluttering in through the open window.

One pigeon ended up crashing into the glass of the window, before falling flat on the windowsill.

Gasping at this, Giselle dropped the newspapers. "Oh my goodness! Are you alright?" She asked the pigeon.

The pigeon stood back up, and tweeted a little, indicating that he was okay.

"Oh," giggled Giselle. Then, she looked around at the animals with a forced smile. "Hello," she greeted. "Oh..."

These... animals weren't exactly what she had expected. It turns out the borough of Manhattan was a little short on bunnies, fawns, bluebirds, and such.

Still, the crowd of animals waited eagerly for Giselle's instructions. After all, help was help.

"Well, it's always nice to make new friends," she said bravely. Then, she clapped her hands three times, and spoke up. "All right, everyone! Let's tidy things up!"

The animals sprang into action, as Giselle began to sing.

"Happy Working Song"

(Giselle)
"Come my little friends,
As we all sing a happy little working song,

Merry little voices clear and strong,"

Some pigeons even turned Giselle's skirt around, and tied it back so that she her get started, herself.

(Giselle)
"Come and roll your sleeves up,
So to speak and pitch in,"

One pigeon handed Giselle a broom.

She gladly took it, and used it to sweep up the floor in the kitchen.

The pigeon used its tail feathers to wipe away the leftover crumbs on the table.

(Giselle)
"Cleaning crud up in the kitchen,
As we sing along,"

In the bathroom, the cockroaches came out from the drain in the bathtub and wiped the mildew stain in it clean.

(Giselle)
"And you'll trill a cheery tune in the tub,
As we scrub a stubborn mildew stain,"

One little mouse used its tail to remove a hairball out of the drain, and gave it to Giselle, before climbing onto her other hand.

(Giselle)
"Pluck a hairball from the shower drain,
To the gay refrain,
Of a happy working song,"

Then, she joined the rats and other mice in scrubbing the floor. Her reflection appeared in one of the floating bubbles overhead.

(Giselle)
"We'll keep singing without fail,
Otherwise we'd spoil it,
Hosing down the garbage pail,
And scrubbing up the toilet,"

The flies wrung out a wet rag over a garbage pail, while a pigeon stepped on the open pedal.

Three mice were scrubbing the toilet with toothbrushes. One of them slipped and fell in the toilet.

When they were finished with the bathroom, Giselle and the animal continued cleaning in the hallway.

A pigeon came out of the closet with a vacuum. During which, the pigeon accidentally vacuumed up three cockroaches.

(Giselle)
"How we all enjoy letting loose,
With a little "la da dum dum dum"
While we're emptying the vacuum,"

Giselle noticed, and knelt down to take out the dirt container. The cockroaches were in the vacuumed dirt, coughing their way out.

Giselle used her finger to scoop them out.

(Giselle)
"It's such fun to hum,
A happy working song,
Mmm, mmm, a happy working song,"

As she let the cockroaches fly off, Giselle stepped out onto the balcony and looked out in New York.

(Giselle)
"Oh, how strange a place to be,
Till Edward comes for me,
My heart is sighing,

Still, as long as I am here,
I guess a new experience,
Could be worth trying..."

She went back inside to check on the animals in the kitchen.

(Giselle)
"Hey! Keep drying!"

The rats were in the sink, licking the dirty dishes clean. One rat had its tail wrapped around a cup, resting itself briefly until he noticed Giselle and wiped it dry with its rear.

Giselle continued to clean the apartment, carrying a feather duster.

(Giselle)
"You could do a lot when you got,
Such a happy working tune to hum,"

She danced around a bit, with her puffy dress skirt accidentally knocking over a pile of folded laundry.

But the animals took care of that.

Back in the kitchen, one cockroach was bouncing on a spray cleaner, spraying the microwave, while the rats dried it clean with their tails.

More cockroaches were tossing away more of the garbage into a black trash bag, which was held by a pigeon.

The rats in the sink passed each other a clean plate, and gave it to a pigeon who carried it back to the cabinet.

(Giselle)
"While you're sponging up,
The soapy scum,

We adore each filthy chore that we determine,
So friends, even though you're vermin,
We're a happy working song,"

As the pigeon tried to fly a second plate back to the cabinet, it lost its grip and fell on the counter, causing the plate to fall and break.

The sound of it woke up Morgan.

While Robert continued to sleep, the young girl climbed out of his bed to see what was going on. She opened the door to find two rats carrying bottles of laundry detergent.

One pigeon flew over carrying a sock, only to drop it on Morgan's head.

Morgan removed the sock, and looked at it in disgust.

(Giselle)
"Singing as we fetch the detergent box,
Or the smelly shirts and the stinky socks,

Sing along..."

Morgan wandered into the hall just in time to see more of the rodents, birds, and bugs with Giselle... cleaning.

(Giselle)
"If you cannot sing, then hum along...

As we're finishing,
Our happy working song!"

A pigeon tossed Giselle a bouquet of flowers.

She caught them with a delightful smile. As she finished singing, Giselle tossed the flowers into a nearby vase over the fireplace.

Then she sighed, satisfied to have cleaned the apartment with her new animal friends. "Wasn't this fun?"

A pigeon noticed a cockroach next to it. Before anyone could notice, it quickly devoured the cockroach, and looked back up casually.

Morgan's eyes widened at the sight. Then, she turned and ran back down the hall.

"Wake up! Wake up!" She ran into her father's room.

"What?" Robert groaned, still sleeping.

Morgan took a pillow, and whacked him with it. "Wake up!"

"What?" Robert stirred a little, and turned towards his youngest daughter.

"Come, you have to come see!" Morgan pulled him by the arm.

"What is it?"

"I can't tell you, you have to come see!" said Morgan.

"What's wrong? Are you okay?" Robert quickly got out of bed, rubbing his face awake as he followed Morgan out into the hallway. "Yes, what is it, Morgan?"

"Look!" Morgan pointed in the living room, showing Robert the animals scampering about.

When Robert saw his apartment filled with vermin, his eyes went wide as well. But not in a good way. "Oh my god..." He charged into the living room, and began swatting at the cockroaches crawling on his coffee table. "Get out! Out!" He shouted.

Then, he tried to grab the pigeons, only for them to fly out of his grasp.

Morgan picked up two rats by their tails, and held them up. "What do I do with them?!" She asked Robert.

"Get them outside! Get rid of them!" Robert demanded, as he began to collect the rats by their tails, himself.

"Put them back?" Morgan said confused.

"No! Put them outside! Don't put them back!" exclaimed Robert. "Open the door!"

Morgan raced over to the front door, and opened it.

"Good! Watch out!" Robert informed her, as he forced all the rats and pigeons out of the apartment. Once they were safely outside, he slammed the door shut, with a shudder.

After the animals were gone, Chris opened her bedroom door, having heard all the commotion. She looked around, and then noticed Robert and Morgan at the front door.

"What did I miss?" She asked.

Robert didn't answer her, and just sighed in annoyance.

The sudden silence in the apartment was broken by the sound of water running... and Giselle's humming.

Robert peeked down the hall.

"What's going on?" Chris demanded to know.

"Stay there," Robert commanded his daughters, and began to approach the bathroom.

"Dad?" whispered Morgan.

"Shh, stay there," he repeated. "Chris, watch your sister." Chris started to get suspicious by her father's behavior. Still, she went over to keep an eye on Morgan.

Robert then approached the bathroom. "Hello?" He called, knocking on the door.

"Come in!" Giselle called back.

Robert went into the bathroom. "Yeah, can I-" he stopped to find Giselle getting out of the shower.

Two flying pigeons held up a towel for her.

"Oh, good morning, Robert," Giselle chirped. "Oh!" she said, as the pigeons wrapped the towel around her. "That's too thoughtful of you. Thank you," she kindly told the pigeons, before they flew away. Giselle turned back to Robert with a smile. "Oh, I hope you had nice dreams."

Robert blinked at the birds. "I think I'm still in one..."

"This is a magical room," said Giselle, examining the bathroom. "Where does the water come from?"

Robert thought for a moment. "Uh... well, the..." he went over to shut the water off. "The water comes from the pipes."

"Where do the pipes get it?" Giselle asked, as she unpinned her hair and shook it dry.

"Uh... I don't know," Robert shook his head. "From, wherever the pipes get it."

"Oh," smiled Giselle. She looked around the bathroom, again. "It is magical."

Robert stared at her, completely dumbfounded.
