Chapter 141: The Final Battle Part 3
Aval'par told the two humans in their mind, (Hold on! I will protect you!) he gazed behind him and saw the other M'arrillian coming after him. He made sure his tendrils grasp was strong on the two as he dodged a few ice shards coming at him. He searched for a way to escape him and make sure the humans were safe. He knew he needed to find another squadron at the other three sectors.
He painfully grunted when a blast hit his back. He dropped on the ground. He made sure that the two were safe as he crashed down. He held them against his chest and made sure he landed on his back. The purple M'arrillian painfully grunted as he slid on the ground. His back pain was horrible. He quickly checked on the two humans if they were hurt.
He ignored the pain on his stomach. He felt the knee of Tom digging in his jelly, "Fine?" he noticed Milla'iin quickly coming at him.
"Yes," they replied.
He grabbed them and rushed towards a large building. He went inside and closed the door. He dashed towards the first room and hid in there. He let the humans go and said, (We will communicate with our minds. I connected mine to yours. Don't worry, I won't read anything,) his eye checked if Milla'iin entered the building. He didn't for now.
(Thanks for saving us,) Tom told him.
(Yeah. It was a bit painful,) Sarah grumbled a bit. She shook her head and quickly added, (It's not your fault.)
(No worries. Still, it was my fault you were captured.)
(How?) she furiously asked the creature.
(I stayed in jail. I didn't come out to help the creatures. If I did, I would be there to save you before they got you. I abandoned you.)
(No you didn't. You're here.)
(Only because I regret that I have done nothing.)
(Enough with this. We need to find a way out.)
(The creatures are attacking the city at four flanks. They surrounded the city and with you not as their hostages, it's going to be brutal,) his eye went on the ground, (I dread what would come of the children. Would they be spared?)
(Of course, they will be,) Tom replied.
(They are children.)
(I hope you are right. The creatures might not be that merciful.) Aval'par heard something, (It's surely Milla'iin. Not a word,)
The purple creature approached the door and stood behind it. He waited for the M'arrillian to come. He was ready to fight Milla'iin. He took a deep breath. He told himself he shouldn't hesitate.
They were in a room with a few desks, a few shelves, a computer and a large comfy chair. Except for that, there was a window at the back that led outside. From the window, the two humans noticed the battle raging on. The explosions got their attentions and hoped for the best for the creatures.
Tom and Sarah went behind a desk and waited. They didn't hear anything as the M'arrillian floated in the air.
Gal'drad grunted when he was attacked by Rath'uar. He couldn't help his friend. He had to focus on surviving his own battle. The other M'arrillian was merciless and really wanted his head.
"You will die for your crimes traitor!" Rath'uar declared.
"I might be a traitor, but only because I saw the true within Aa'une's lies!" he replied as he sent ice shards at the other M'arrillian.
The two continued their battles while on the grounds, the four tribes and the human's stroke.
The diversion given by Maxxor and the others allowed the other tribes to strike quickly and caused a lot of damaged.
South, west and east faced little resistance from the M'arrillians who focused more on the Overworlders.
The invaders quickly retreated from the alliance and went towards the middle of the city.
Theb-Saar noticed it and found that they retreated a little too quickly. He wasn't sure if it was a problem or not. His instinct was telling him that there might be something bad ready for them. He told his soldiers, "Beware, they might be preparing an ambush!"
"Yes, my king!" his army replied.
The humans nodded and shared the others around, "Expect a possible ambush!" he nodded, "Air support is ready to come at any moment!"
"Good," the blue Mipedian replied. He didn't get the human jargon. However, it was clear by air that it would be the flying battlegears that would help them.
The Mipedian King used his best wind attacks when a few of them tried to fire back at them. The king was glad that Peyton remained behind and didn't try to come with them. It wouldn't end up well as this battle was heating up already. Still, he remained calm and tried to figure out what kind of counterattack the M'arrillians had for them.
Chaor and his troops heard the message they received from the humans. He also noticed how quickly they retreated and couldn't disagree with him. He wished he was the first one to give his order. Still, he wished he could split and found Milla'iin. Alas, the M'arrillian with his big eye went after Aval'par.
Rothar grunted when one of them hit him hard and he crashed against the wall of a small house. He ignored the pain and quickly went back up.
He was about to charge when Takinom ordered, "Stand back! They might try to ambush us! Remember what they said?"
"Yes," the minotaur replied as he used his best earth attack to break their balance and do some damage. And some damage it did as a statue felt on some of the M'arrillians.
Wamma held fireballs in his hands as he burned the exoskeleton of a few Kha'ralls who didn't run away too fast.
The big red beetle focused on the battle. He remained in line. He was relieved that Sarah wasn't in immediate danger anymore. When he saw her in the air and under the tendrils of Milla'iin, he felt like a tendril was around his own heart. Still, he knew he needed to fight much harder. The less M'arrillians stood up, the less could go after Sarah if things didn't go that well.
His heart wasn't light, even if he knew she wasn't in danger. He noticed Milla'iin chasing them and he might not be alone.
He fought with everything he had in his body. He would make sure Sarah was safe. His friend was counting on him and his tribe. He felt the gaze of Odu-Bathax on his thorax from time to time. He knew he might get in trouble. He showed his true potential as a warrior.
His calm and peaceful life from before was obviously over. He could already see himself going in the frontline now. Still, he rather lost that life, knowing that his best friend Sarah was safe.
Odu-Bathax was hit by one of their attacks and felt on his back. He quickly got up and countered attack with a Rock Wave.
The humans covered their advances in the distance and formed the M'arrillians to retreat. It was then that one of them shared the message, "Their retreat might lead to an ambush!"
The Danians nodded as they continued their offensive. They slowly closed the distances between them and the M'arrillians when they reached a tall and large building that seemed ready for to defend its citizen from an invasion.
Aval'par waited for the M'arrillian, but he never came. He guessed that Milla'iin went to check the other doors, (Do not move. He might come back.)
(Okay,) the two replied as they held their hands together.
The Purple M'arrillian said, (I hope the others can find us.)
(Others?)
(Theb-Saar sent a squadron to rescue you. The Mipedians are invisible and around. They surely saw me saving you, but they need to find us first. Once they are here, it will be safe for you to leave. For now, stay hidden and I'll handle Milla'iin-) he heard a suspicious sound not far from them, (Once he is close, I'll ambush him. When we fight and you think it's too dangerous, leave by the window at the back.)
Sarah replied, (We'll do that.)
The two teenagers didn't try to take a peek as they heard a sound once again. They didn't want to be noticed.
Aval'par felt a little nervous as he felt the tension in the air. He wondered where the other M'arrillian was. He just knew he didn't leave. He left no traces of leaving this place. He wanted to take the offensive, but no one would protect the two humans. Not only that, but it might be possible M'arrillians were outside. Waiting for them to try and escape.
He took deep breath. The creature hoped he would leave. Still, he knew his hope wouldn't come true. He clenched his hand when the tension suddenly rose. Then, the eye of the yellow M'arrillian came in the room.
Aval'par punched that large eye ball and pulled him outside of the room. He sent a tidal wave at the other creature who dodged it at the last second.
"Damn you!" Milla'iin yelled as he countered with a Power Pulse.
Aval'par was hit on the chest and crashed against the wall. He looked at his enemy as he stood up, "You will not hurt them! I will not repeat the same mistake as before!"
The second sentence made no sense for the other Chieftain. He didn't care, "For the glory of Aa'une!"
Meanwhile, Tom and Sarah weren't sure if it was the right time to escape. They could hear the battle going on outside. They had no idea who was winning and who was losing.
Sarah took the risk and checked outside. She saw no one. She kneeled down and whispered, "We should leave."
"We don't know where the other M'arrillians and the Mipedians are," he whispered back.
"If Aval'par loses, we need to hide elsewhere," she told him.
Tom was a little conflicted. They might potentially left Aval'par to his doom. Still, he was fighting to protect them right now.
Sarah grabbed his hands, "He can handle himself better than us."
"Right."
He opened the window and escaped. Once they were outside, they quickly searched for the nearby building to hide. They were into an abandoned apartment and went inside. They didn't try to climb to a higher floor, they needed to be able to escape safely.
Sarah made sure the door was closed behind them, so the M'arrillians wouldn't suspect they hid in there.
"What do we do now?" Sarah whispered. She checked outside by the windows and saw nothing outside.
Tom did the same, "I… I think we should stay low and wait. We don't know when one of the M'arrillians might show up."
The two laid down. They held hands as they waited.
"How long?" she asked.
"No idea. Until the Mipedians find us. We will get out of here and they wouldn't need to worry about us once we are safe."
"This is going to get boring if it takes a while," she replied. She raised her shoulders, "But I rather get bored."
"Me too."
They waited. They hoped they would get a clue of the Mipedians presence. Those creatures were surely aware Aval'par saved them and was around here. Still, they had to be careful and not confuse them with the M'arrillians. They had no idea if they sounded different when they walked.
When Aval'par saved the two teenagers, the rescue team witnessed it. They saw Aval'par chased by Milla'iin. They lost sight of them when the purple M'arrillian crashed down.
The group of ten invisible Mipedians split into two groups of five. They began to search for the humans. Each of them had a communication device from the humans to keep in touch with each other's and the other creatures.
Once the humans were safe and sound, they would give the signal.
Gathup was among them as he looked around. He knew those two were close friends with Peyton. He closed his hands, "Don't worry Peyton. We will bring your friends home safe and sound," he heard a loud sound and recognised one of a battle. He knew there was a fight. The caliber was small and meant it was probably a one on one, "Aval'par and Milla'iin are probably fighting over there!" he turned visible and pointed north.
The others turned visible and nodded. They turned invisible and proceed north.

The battle continued to heat up as Milla'iin tried to defeat the traitor and get back the two humans. Meanwhile, Gal'drad tried to convince a few M'arrillians to stop the war.
