Adamant for Adaman

Scenario: Cyllene's Trial

Author Notes: So not gonna lie...did not see this coming. I told Sen when the game came out that he'd be lucky to see a few one shots. Yet here we are. Must be his lucky day-Sen do the lottery lol

We don't own Pokemon, but this is a series of one shots with different perspectives around my character Shishi and of course with Adaman sprinkled in(spoilers he's not in the first one-we'll get there) because he probably easily became one of my favorite characters in the game.

I am proud of the title of this series and I feel no shame whatsoever lol. Also warning some of these may have spoilers and some of these are made up because I love pokemon way too much. So let's do this! I do not own Pokemon.

2nd P.O.V

Your eyes were narrowed as you quietly made your way through the grass. There...target in sight. Rei and Akari were watching you alongside Laventon from a distance. Their eyes full of curiosity. Honestly you weren't sure how to feel about the situation presented to you.

'Go out and catch pokemon for our research. Return to me when you've gathered enough data.'

There was a very strong sense of defiance to be found with you. Yet you bite your tongue and do as your told. So here you are...out in the wilderness trying to catch yourself a pokemon. Why don't you have one of your own?

Because Cyllene didn't like the look of you or your protest when you first arrived so she gave you tasks that were harder than usual. Now granted back home you would have had no problems with this challenge. You were well used to pokemon and how they behaved.

Here yes, pokemon be pokemon, nothing about THEM changed. But...your world did. Taken from your home, hell your time, dropped into what looked to be the past with a bunch of people giving you wary expressions full of suspicion and just told to deal with it?

To prove you had a right to live in an ancient version of your home? Starting with finding a pokemon and catching it without battling...Tauros shit all the nine yards. But...what other choice did you have? So you would do what you were told.

Schooling your expression(because damn these people. You would not give them the satisfaction of you crying) and survive. And it would all begin with this wild eevee frolicking along the flowers. You had already tossed some berries to lower its guard.

So with narrowed eyes you throw the light weight pokeball. Made of wood instead of metal made it fly much faster. You found yourself wincing as the poor thing squeaked in pain before getting the the ball. The ball hopped and down for a few moments before stopping all together. A sigh escapes you, relieved.

"Incredible!" The pressure of having an audience(sounds better than babysitters or strangers keeping an eye on you) made you tense. And the idea of more ridicule really didn't sound appealing but thankfully that was not in the cards today.

Immediately you race to the ball, letting the little eevee out. "Sorry for scaring you eevee." She was a tiny thing, way smaller than the typical fluffy pokemon. And skittish too as she took a few steps away.

She was technically yours now, no matter what unless you released her she wasn't going anywhere. But that didn't mean you wanted to enslave the poor thing. So you sit, taking out another berry for her.

"Hungry?" You smile softly as she sniffs the air. Clearly confirming her suspicions. So you toss it a few feet away, letting her take it without pressure. From the moment you were small, you were taught that pokemon were friends, companions, family...so that was how you treated them.

Right now in a world that clearly found you strange and (apparently) dangerous, you could use a friend. One that wouldn't judge you for being a freak that fell out of the sky. "Ohh it's so cute!" Eevee was hopping, quickly glancing to you as she made her way to the berry.

But relaxed the moment she bit into it. Relishing the taste as she filled her belly. "Hmm so oran berries caked with honey are more appealing? Interesting." It...was really hard to ignore the conversations going on behind you.

Thankfully your new pokemon was more than willing to distract you. Much bolder now she approaches. Still taking her time, but there's a sense of trust found in those big, dark eyes. She at least can tell that you mean no harm.

"Wanna go on an adventure with me?" Your palm extends slowly, carefully. Her fur sticks up slightly, but it only lasts for a minute as she takes note that you don't move. Perfectly still. She sniffs your hand, then tentatively licks it.

You're unsure if she actually likes you or if you had some honey residue on your palm, but then she rubs her head against you. Giving a small chirp. "Pleasure to have you on board." Your journey begins now. And it's going to go on your terms.

The end.

Author Notes: Ok so sue me I don't have Adaman in this one shot lol. We gotta start somewhere folks. And I gotta say I love the fact we can get eevee so early on...shiny hunting is a different story but i'm working on it haha.

But that is it for now my friends. Everyone thank you for checking out this new series. If you like it please feel free to fav/follow/review as it would mean so much to me. We'll see you next time. Tchao for now!
