Authors note: Just got Samurai Warriors. Love it. Hanzo, Kunoichi and Yukimura are the best characters. Hands down. Anyways, I decided to write this because there wasn't really any other story like this. I'll be writing more stories like this, mostly just one-chapters, maybe I'll write a multi-chap. fic. Anyways please read and REVIEW! Sorry....my sister just got 14 reviews for one of her stories, a one-shot. She keeps rubbing it in my face . Enjoy.
He crept through the Wu's grounds, as quiet and swiftly as a shadow. The night was a peaceful one. The crescent moon was out along with an abundant amount of stars. It was so quiet you could hear the crickets, playing a soft smoothing tune.
He knew, he shouldn't have picked this night. It was far too bright out, with the moon's and star's rays shining down strongly. He should have picked a foggy night, with no moon. That way, no one could see him at all. He would be a shadow, a shadow that has never seen light.
But He didn't.
The animosity he had for his lord was just too strong to bear any longer. His lord had caused too much pain, too much misery upon him.
No, the misery was not done on his lord's own act. The lord, to be honest was actually quite the 'conqueror'. The lord was also cheerful, full of spirit, and strong . There wasn't much more you could ask out of him. But both of them had fallen in love with the same women.
And as it goes, only could capture her heart.
Pushing aside the ruler's tent, flashes of the beautiful women he hadn't won began pounding in his mind. Her beautiful soft cheerful smile. Her long brown soft hair that was usually kept back. He loved the way she smiled. The way she could break even the most strongest man's heart, just by saying one word, was unbearable to him.
He didn't like that, maybe it was due to the fact he had experienced it. All he tried to do was say how much she meant to him, and that she never leaves his mind. But she spoke, and his heart shattered into pieces.
How was this fair? He'd come to realize, that nothing in the world is fair. If someone wins, another always loses.
The grip on the dagger tightened. He could feel his heart begin to pound against his chest, faster than normal. Much faster. Sweat began to pour down his face, and his eyes narrowed down to his target lying on his bed sound asleep.
The thought of guilt haunting him really didn't occur to him until he was standing over his lord, dagger only inches away from his lord's chest. Guilt, such a strong but evil thing. It could haunt you as long as you let it haunt you. And even when you try to stop it from haunting you, there's still something deep down inside you that makes you feel it. Makes you feel that guilt you've been trying to shove away.
What would happen if someone found out it was me? What if no one found out?
These questions raced in his mind. He tried to push them aside, away from his mind. But he couldn't. He realized then the guilt would be too strong, he couldn't kill him.
NO! He had come here to do something, and he was going to do it! He wasn't going to sit and watch as the women he loved get married tomorrow! He wouldn't allow it! He was not going to lose.
Lu Xun raised the dagger, and then brought it down -full strength - and pierced the dagger into his lord's heart.
Authors note: Don't kill me for the shortness . It's suppose to be not that long. Really. Anyway hoped you enjoyed it, and I hope you can infer some things. Also, PLEASE tell me ANYTHING I could have done better. Spelling, grammar, it's confusing just anything. And of course please review!
